LeadOcean + Claude: Design and Deploy Multi-Touch Sequences

Claude pulls real contacts through the LeadOcean MCP server, designs a multi-touch sequence from each row, and hands the approved copy to your sequencer.

You get a loop where Claude finds the people, designs the touches, and stops for your approval before anything leaves. LeadOcean supplies the contacts through its MCP server. Your sequencer does the sending, because LeadOcean has no sequencer.

How it works

Five steps. Only step 1 needs setup. Each later step is one prompt.

  1. Connect LeadOcean to Claude. Add https://api.leadocean.io/mcp as a custom connector and sign in with OAuth. No key is pasted.
  2. Size the audience. Ask for a count first. leadocean_count_leads is free, so you see the list size before you spend a record.
  3. Pull the contacts. Claude calls leadocean_search_leads for 25 people, then leadocean_get_lead with reveal_email for the ones you keep.
  4. Design the sequence. Claude proposes 4 to 6 touches, the gaps between them and a breakup touch, then drafts each message from fields in the row. Approve the structure before it writes copy.
  5. Deploy. Paste the approved copy into your sequencer and import the contacts as a CSV from the app's Exports page or POST /v1/exports.

Review at least three drafts in full. A draft should cite only a field from its row, never a guess.

Configuration

The MCP route needs no code. The REST calls below do the same two jobs from a script: a free count with count=true in the query string, then a 25-row pull.

bash
curl -X POST "https://api.leadocean.io/v1/people/search?count=true&limit=1" \
  -H "x-api-key: $LEADOCEAN_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"jobLevel":["VP"],"jobFunction":["Sales & Business Development"],"country":["CA"],"emailStatus":["verified"]}'

curl -X POST https://api.leadocean.io/v1/people/search \
  -H "x-api-key: $LEADOCEAN_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"jobLevel":["VP"],"jobFunction":["Sales & Business Development"],"country":["CA"],"emailStatus":["verified"],"limit":25}'

meta.total is capped at 100,000. Enum values are exact strings: check them with leadocean_list_enum_values.

Field mapping

Give Claude the fields it may cite and nothing else. Anything not in the row stays out of the copy. The names below are export CSV columns.

Cost at 10,000 rows

10,000 contacts is 10,000 records. Free gives 1,000 records for life, enough to test 25-row runs, and has no bulk CSV export. Solo at $97 a month includes bulk CSV and covers 10,000 records inside its fair-use pace, with no credits. Claude's own plan is billed separately; see the Claude MCP setup.

FullEnrich offers a similar skill, and its MCP supplies contact context (source: FullEnrich template, September 2026). A work email costs 1 credit, so 10,000 emails is 10,000 credits (source: FullEnrich credit docs, September 2026). The 10,000-credit monthly tier is $499 a month, or $454 a month billed yearly (source: FullEnrich pricing, September 2026).

FAQ

Does LeadOcean send the emails?

No. LeadOcean is data and an API, not a sequencer. Claude drafts, you approve, your sequencer sends.

How many records does a test cost?

About 25 for the search page, plus one per enrichment you keep. Counts cost nothing.

Which emails should go in a sequence?

Send verified first. Treat catch_all_valid and catch_all as a second, smaller batch. LeadOcean gives no refund for bounces, so read email_status before sending.

Can Claude Code run this too?

Yes, with the same server. See the Claude Code sequence guide and the multi-layer filtering guide.
