Most B2B data work comes down to six jobs: build a list, size a market, fill gaps in a CRM, enrich an inbound lead, chain providers in a waterfall, and feed an AI SDR. LeadOcean covers 693M people and 63M companies, and one API serves all six. Each page below walks through one job with its calls, its cost and a sized example.
Every job maps to the same few endpoints. Search runs on POST /v1/people/search and POST /v1/companies/search, enrichment on POST /v1/people/enrich and POST /v1/companies/enrich, and bulk pulls on POST /v1/exports. The MCP server at https://api.leadocean.io/mcp exposes 12 tools for the same work, so an agent can run any of these jobs without code. Each person or company returned counts as 1 record. For single lookups, see Enrichments.
Build and size a list
- List Building: size a list for free, pull it by filter and export it with emails and phones.
- TAM Sizing: count the people in your market from real filters before you spend a record.
Enrich the records you hold
- CRM Enrichment: fill the blank fields on contacts and accounts from one API.
- Inbound Enrichment: turn a bare email from a form fill into title, seniority and company size.
- Waterfall Enrichment: make LeadOcean the first hop, with later providers running only on the gaps.
Feed an agent
- AI SDR Data: give your agent people, work emails and phones from one API or MCP server.
How to choose
- You do not yet know how big the market is. Start with TAM Sizing. The count call is free and you can run it as often as you like.
- You need a list of named people. Use List Building. Count first, then search, then export. The glossary entry on enrichment explains what the export adds.
- You already hold emails, domains or LinkedIn URLs. Use CRM Enrichment for batches and Inbound Enrichment for one lead at a time. A miss on the main enrich endpoints costs nothing.
- You already pay for another provider. Read Waterfall Enrichment. LeadOcean goes first, so you only pay the later hops on gaps. The waterfall explainer covers the idea.
- An agent does the work, not a person. Read AI SDR Data, then connect the MCP server and let the agent count before it pulls.
FAQ
What does each use case cost?
Every person or company returned counts as 1 record. Count calls, filter lists and account checks are free. A person lookup that finds nobody is a 404 and costs nothing, but a call to a /v2 contact endpoint costs 1 record even when it finds nothing. See pricing.
Do I need Pro to try any of these?
No. Free gives you 1,000 records, one-off, with no card, on the same API and MCP server as Pro. Pro is $499 a month, flat, with unlimited searches, enrichments and lookups inside fair use. Start on Free and move up when a job outgrows 1,000 records.
Can I run these jobs without writing code?
Yes, in two ways. The MCP server lets an agent run search, enrich and count calls from a prompt. The app at app.leadocean.io has an Exports page with a filter builder, a column picker, the record price before you start and a CSV download. It has no sequencer, dialer or CRM, so you send the list elsewhere. The data enrichment guide covers the basics.
