A lead source here is a list you build from filters, not a file we hand you. LeadOcean holds 693M people and 63M companies, and each page below shows one way to cut that into a list: by title, department, location, industry, technology, phone or email status. The pages give the filter names, the exact allowed values and a count you can check yourself.
Every page maps to the same two paths. Over REST, POST /v1/people/search and POST /v1/companies/search take the filters as a flat JSON body, and POST /v1/exports pulls the full list. Over MCP, leadocean_count_leads sizes a list for free, leadocean_search_leads and leadocean_search_companies return rows, and leadocean_export_leads writes the CSV. For the term, see lead scrape. For what to do with a list afterwards, see lead routing.
Free count, dated
One live count, so you know what sizing looks like. leadocean_count_leads returned 115,336 on 2026-10-01 for jobLevel VP, jobFunction Sales & Business Development, country US. That is people with a verified, catch_all_valid or catch_all email, the tool's default filter. The call spent no records.

How to choose
- You know the buyer. Use Find Decision Makers.
jobLevelandjobFunctionget you to the right seat faster than a title string. - You know the account type. Start on the company side with industry, headcount or technology, then pull the people at those companies.
- You need to call or email. Use the contact status pages first. They keep only people we hold a number or a sendable email for.
- You want a list now, not code. Use Bulk CSV Export. The Exports page in the app has a filter builder, a column picker and the record price before you start.
- You are comparing build against buy. Read best open source lead generation tools first, then size the same list here for free.
FAQ
Does sizing a list cost anything?
No. leadocean_count_leads, list_filters and list_enum_values are free. A search costs 1 record per person or company returned, and an export row costs 1 record. Free gives you 1,000 records, one-off. Pro is $499 a month. See pricing.
Which filter values are allowed?
Enum filters take exact strings, such as jobLevel VP or jobFunction Sales & Business Development. Call list_enum_values for the full set. list_filters returns all 50 people filters and 34 company filters.
Can a count be wrong?
Read the label on it. The MCP count defaults to people with a verified, catch_all_valid or catch_all email. On the REST API, meta.total stops at 100,000, so a bigger list reads as a floor there. A few filters, including fundingType and minRevenue, cannot be counted, and the page that uses them says so.
