Filter on minFounded and maxFounded, then count the people you can reach at young companies. Sizing is free.
Both filters take a four-digit founding year. Set minFounded to 2025 and you get companies founded in 2025 or later. Add the buyer you want at those companies and size the list before you spend a record.
The filter
| Filter | Type | Example values | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
minFounded | integer (year) | 2025, 2024 | Earliest founding year to include. |
maxFounded | integer (year) | 2024, 2022 | Latest founding year. Pair with minFounded for a window. |
Both filters match only companies with a founding year on file. A company with no year is never returned, so the list is a floor, not every new company.
The filters work on POST /v1/people/search and POST /v1/companies/search. They take years, not dates, so "new" means a calendar year, not the last 90 days.
How many you can reach
Three live counts from leadocean_count_leads, run on 2026-10-01. Each count is mailable people: verified, catch_all_valid or catch_all email, the tool's default. It spent no records. These are people at matching companies, not a company count.
| Filters | Mailable people |
|---|---|
minFounded 2025, jobLevel C-Team, country US | 7,185 |
minFounded 2024, employeeRange 11-50, jobLevel C-Team, hqCountry US | 3,284 |
minFounded 2024, jobFunction Sales & Business Development, jobLevel VP and Director, hqContinent Europe | 338 |
The first count is mostly owners (5,343 of 7,185) at companies with 1-10 employees (6,152). Young companies are small. If you want teams with budget, add employeeRange.
Run it from an AI agent
Connect the MCP server at https://api.leadocean.io/mcp (OAuth sign-in, no key pasted), then ask in plain words.
Find C-level people at US companies founded in 2024 or later, with 11 to 50 employees. Size it first, then show me 25.
The agent counts first with the free tool, then calls leadocean_search_leads with this:
{
"minFounded": 2024,
"employeeRange": ["11-50"],
"jobLevel": ["C-Team"],
"hqCountry": ["US"],
"limit": 25
}The search costs 1 record per person returned. Use leadocean_search_companies when you want companies, not people. It costs 1 record per company.
Run it with the API
One flat JSON body to POST /v1/people/search. Enum filters are arrays of exact strings.
curl -X POST "https://api.leadocean.io/v1/people/search" \
-H "x-api-key: $LEADOCEAN_API_KEY" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{
"minFounded": 2024,
"employeeRange": ["11-50"],
"jobLevel": ["C-Team"],
"hqCountry": ["US"],
"limit": 25
}'For the free sizing call, put count=true in the URL (not the body) and set limit to 1.
curl -X POST "https://api.leadocean.io/v1/people/search?count=true" \
-H "x-api-key: $LEADOCEAN_API_KEY" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{
"minFounded": 2024,
"employeeRange": ["11-50"],
"jobLevel": ["C-Team"],
"hqCountry": ["US"],
"emailStatus": ["verified", "catch_all_valid", "catch_all"],
"limit": 1
}'data comes back empty and meta.countOnly is true. meta.total stops at 100,000 on the REST API.
Export the list
POST /v1/exports takes the same filters inside a filters object. One export is up to 50,000 rows, and an account can export 500,000 rows a day.
curl -X POST "https://api.leadocean.io/v1/exports" \
-H "x-api-key: $LEADOCEAN_API_KEY" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{
"name": "new-us-companies-c-level",
"filters": {
"minFounded": 2024,
"employeeRange": ["11-50"],
"jobLevel": ["C-Team"],
"hqCountry": ["US"]
},
"limit": 5000,
"preset": "search"
}'Poll GET /v1/exports/{id}, then download. Prefer clicking? The Exports page in the app at app.leadocean.io has the filter builder, a column picker, the record price before you start, and a CSV download.
Combine it
- Add
employeeRange(for example["11-50"]) to drop one-person shells. See find companies by headcount. - Add
jobLevelandjobFunctionto reach one buyer. See find the new CTO at a company. - Add
minLastFundingYearto keep young companies that also raised recently. The funding filters narrow the list at search time, but we do not quote counts with them.
More ways to build a company list are on the find companies hub.
FAQ
What counts as a new company?
A company whose founding year is at or after minFounded. The filter reads a year field, so you cannot ask for companies founded in the last 30 days.
Why is my list shorter than I expected?
Only companies with a founding year on file can match. A company with no year is skipped, so treat every count as a floor.
Does the count include people without an email?
No. The counts above are mailable people only, using the tool's default email statuses. Pass emailStatus, hasEmail or reachable to count differently.
What does it cost?
Counting is free, as are list_filters and list_enum_values. A search costs 1 record per person or company returned. The free plan has 1,000 records, one-off, no card. Pro is $499 a month. See pricing.
