Billing questions

What counts as a record?
Every person or company we return counts one. A search page of 25 people counts 25; enriching one person counts 1, whether or not you reveal their contact details. A request rejected for a rate limit or a spent quota is never counted, and a search page is trimmed to what you have left rather than overshooting it.
What happens when I run out?
On Free, the API answers 402 until the month resets — nothing is charged and no data is lost. On Pro there is no ceiling to hit: past the fair-usage line the API keeps serving at a reduced rate rather than stopping, and every answer says so in meta.notice. Either way you are never billed for records you did not ask for.
Is there really a free tier?
Yes. Sign up with your work email — free mailbox providers are not accepted — and you get an API key immediately, 1,000 records to spend whenever you like, and the same API and MCP server as paid accounts. No credit card, no trial clock — but the 1,000 are a one-off allowance, not a monthly one.
Do unused records roll over?
No. The count resets on the first of the month, UTC. If you need more headroom than the plan gives, email us — it is one message and usually the same day, rather than a sales process.
Can I cancel whenever?
Yes, from your account, and it takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for. No notice period and no exit call.
