LeadOcean + Clay: enrich inbound leads and draft the reply

You get a Clay table where every inbound form lead is enriched with title, seniority, company and email status, then a drafted reply that uses those fields. Clay's own template does the enrichment with its built-in providers (Clay template, September 2026). This recipe swaps that step for one LeadOcean call at a flat price.

Inbound leads give you an email and a few answers. They rarely give you the role. LeadOcean fills that gap from the email alone.

Run it on every lead: a hit is one record and a miss is free. A reply that names the lead's role and company is faster to write and easier to answer than a generic thanks. Route the senior titles to a person first and let the rest wait for a template.

How it works

1. Get a free key. Sign up at app.leadocean.io/register. No card, 1,000 records.
2. Send form leads into Clay. Use a webhook source. Clay lists webhooks on Growth and Enterprise (Clay pricing, September 2026).
3. Add the HTTP API column. POST to https://api.leadocean.io/v1/people/enrich with the lead's email.
4. Skip rows already filled. Clay supports an "only run if" formula on this column (Clay docs, September 2026).
5. Draft the reply. Add an AI column that reads the title, company and the lead's form answers. Its cost is a Clay charge, separate from the LeadOcean call.
6. Review before sending. Send from your own inbox or sequencer. LeadOcean has no sequencer.

Send exactly one identifier. The lead already gave you the address, so reveal_email stays false.

Field mapping

Cost at 10,000 rows

LeadOcean is $0 for the first 1,000 records, then $97 a month on Solo for 10,000 enrichments in one run, or $497 on Agency. There is no per-record price.

A hit counts one record. A lead we hold nothing for returns a 404 and costs nothing (LeadOcean docs, September 2026).

Clay's HTTP API column starts on Growth at $495 a month billed monthly, or $446 billed yearly. Each call uses one Action, and Growth includes 40,000 Actions a month (Clay pricing, September 2026). Ten thousand leads use a quarter of that. The AI draft column is billed by Clay on top.
