The work you do

RevOps owns the numbers behind the pipeline: who is in the CRM, which accounts belong to whom, and whether the data is good enough to route on. Three jobs repeat every quarter.

  • Plan territories and total addressable market. Count accounts and buyers by region, industry and size before quotas and routing rules are set.
  • Keep CRM records complete. Fill missing titles, work emails and company fields, and re-check records that have gone stale.
  • Load clean lists for sales. Pull a defined segment into a CSV that matches your import template, with email status next to each address.

How teams like yours use LeadOcean

1. Size a territory before you assign it

Counts are free. Send count=true as a query parameter on POST /v1/people/search with limit 1, or call the count_leads MCP tool. You get meta.total and no rows. It is capped at 100,000.

bash
curl -s "https://api.leadocean.io/v1/people/search?count=true" \
  -H "x-api-key: $LEADOCEAN_API_KEY" -H "content-type: application/json" \
-d '{"jobLevel": ["VP"], "jobFunction": ["Sales & Business Development"], "country": ["CA"], "limit": 1}' | jq '.meta'

On 30 September 2026 that query counted 5,066 mailable VPs in sales in Canada. Run it per region and you have the buyer count for each territory at no cost.

2. Enrich and refresh CRM records

POST /v1/people/enrich takes exactly one of linkedin_url, email, phone or person_id. Send the email already in your CRM and set reveal_email to true to get every address and phone we hold. A person we hold nothing for is a 404 and costs nothing.

bash
curl -X POST "https://api.leadocean.io/v1/people/enrich" \
  -H "x-api-key: $LEADOCEAN_API_KEY" -H "content-type: application/json" \
  -d '{"email":"jane.doe@acme.com","reveal_email":true}'

For the account, POST /v1/companies/enrich takes a domain or a linkedin_url. Run both from Zapier or your own job at 100 requests per second per key. Each record carries a fetched_at date, so you can see which rows are old.

3. Export a segment as a CSV

The Exports page at app.leadocean.io has a filter builder, a column picker, the record price before you start, and a CSV download. No code needed. The same job runs through POST /v1/exports or the export_leads MCP tool.

An export is up to 50,000 rows per request. Name the columns to match your CRM import: email_1_address, email_1_status and phone_1_number come back as numbered CSV headers.

What it costs

There are two plans. Free is 1,000 records, one-off, no card, same API and MCP server as Pro. Pro is $499 a month, flat. See pricing.

A record is one person or company returned. Counts, filter lookups and a 404 on enrich are free. There is no per-record price, no credits and no overage invoice.

Worked example. You refresh 30,000 contacts and 6,000 accounts in a quarter. That is 36,000 records, and Pro is still $499 a month. A very large month past the fair-usage line is paced to one request a minute until the reset, not cut off. For more headroom, email support.

Use the Free 1,000 to test your match rate on a sample of your CRM first. It is a pilot, not a monthly allowance.

What it does not do

LeadOcean is data, not a sales workspace. It has no sequencer, no dialer, no CRM and no Chrome extension. It has no table or workflow builder either.

It does not sync to your CRM by itself. You run the calls from your own job, Zapier or Make, and write the results back. There is no name plus domain lookup: search by domain, then enrich by person_id.

Bounced emails are not refunded or credited back. Read email_status before records reach a sequence. Revenue and funding fields are thin for small private companies.

FAQ

Can LeadOcean write directly into Salesforce or HubSpot?

No. It returns data over REST and MCP. Your job, Zapier flow or Make scenario writes the fields into the CRM. That keeps your field mapping and overwrite rules in your hands.

How fresh is the data?

The dataset is refreshed monthly. Each record also carries its own fetched_at date, so you can skip or re-check rows older than your threshold.

Do I need an API key or can I use MCP only?

Either. The REST API uses an x-api-key header. The MCP server uses OAuth sign-in, so no key is pasted. Both draw on the same records, and Free keys get search and enrich scopes.

What happens when the 1,000 free records run out?

The API answers 402 once the records are used up. Move to Pro at $499 a month for unlimited searches, enrichments and lookups, 5 API keys and the whole database.
