B2B data enrichment fills the gaps in a lead record: a work email, a mobile number, a title or a company size. Agency owners need it because every client brings a new list, and every list needs a different fill.
Agencies feel the limits of enrichment tools faster than anyone. One seat is built for one rep, but an agency runs five clients at once. Credits expire, and a cap that holds for a single team breaks across clients. We checked six tools against their own pricing pages and docs. Some are covered in detail on our alternatives pages: Clay, Apollo, FullEnrich, BetterContact and Prospeo. The tools are ranked on what happens to the bill when you pull a million records for clients.
TL;DR
| Tool | Best for | Starting price | Cost at 1M records a month |
|---|---|---|---|
| LeadOcean | Agencies pulling client lists through an API, an agent or CSV | Free, then $97 a month | $497 a month (Agency plan) |
| Clay | Agencies that build no-code workflows in tables | $185 a month, $167 billed yearly | No public 1M price |
| Apollo | Agencies whose reps also send sequences | $65 per seat a month, $49 billed yearly | $24,750 a month at list, $19,600 billed yearly |
| FullEnrich | Agencies that need mobile numbers on small lists | $29 a month, $26 billed yearly | No public 1M price |
| BetterContact | Small agencies that pay only for valid results | $15 a month, about $12.50 billed yearly | No public 1M price |
| Prospeo | Agencies with reps who prospect in a browser | $49 per user a month, $37 billed yearly | $14,456 a month (cheapest public path) |
Prices are monthly list prices first, then the billed-yearly figure. Sources are in each section below.
What we evaluated
- Client rights. Can you use the data for clients' campaigns on your plan, or is the plan one seat for one team?
- Cost at 1M records a month. The published price for a million lookups, or "No public 1M price" when the vendor stops short of it.
- API and rate limit. A REST API on the plan you would actually buy, and the published pace per second or minute.
- MCP server. Whether an agent in Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor can call the tool, and on which plans.
- Meter shape. Flat price, credits that expire, per-seat credits or pay-per-valid-result. This decides how well you can quote a client.
1. LeadOcean: best for agencies that pull client lists at volume
LeadOcean is one database of 693M people and 67M companies, called over REST, MCP or CSV export. It is not a rep workspace. It has no sequencer, dialer, CRM or Chrome extension. It is the data layer under whatever you already use.
The Agency plan is $497 a month and covers your own and your clients' work. It allows 1M enrichments a day, 25M search records a month, 200 requests a second and 5 keys. Phones and exports are included (LeadOcean pricing, October 2026). Paid plans have a fair-use pace, not credits, so a client who doubles their list does not change your bill.
Sizing is free. A people count and a company count cost nothing, so you can scope a client list before you spend a record. The test below runs on the Free plan.
curl -X POST "https://api.leadocean.io/v1/people/search?count=true" \
-H "x-api-key: $LEADOCEAN_API_KEY" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"jobLevel": ["VP"], "country": ["CA"], "limit": 1}'The reply carries meta.total and no rows. Export up to 50,000 rows per request with POST /v1/exports, or use the Exports page in the app at app.leadocean.io: filter builder, column picker, price preview and CSV download. There are 13 MCP tools at https://api.leadocean.io/mcp, and sign-in uses OAuth.
Pros
- Flat $497 a month at 1M records, with client work allowed.
- Counts are free, so you quote before you spend.
- REST and MCP on every plan, including Free; bulk CSV export from Solo.
- 200 requests a second on Agency.
Cons
- No sequencer, dialer, CRM or Chrome extension.
- No table or workflow builder, so a no-code team needs another tool on top.
- Bulk CSV export is not on Free.
Best for: agency owners who pull lists through code, an agent or CSV and want one bill across clients. Pricing: Free $0 (1,000 records for life), Solo $97, Agency $497, Platform $1,997 a month (LeadOcean pricing, October 2026).
2. Clay: best for agencies that build no-code enrichment workflows

Clay is a table where each column calls a data provider or an AI research step, which it calls Claygent. It is the most flexible tool here for a team that builds a new workflow for every client. Claygent, waterfalls and bring-your-own-key come with every plan, including Free (Clay pricing, September 2026).
The cost is the meter. Launch is $185 a month billed monthly and $167 billed yearly, with 15,000 Actions and 2,500 Data Credits. Growth is $495 monthly and $446 yearly. Clay's own doc says a fully enriched record typically costs 6 to 20 Data Credits, plus one Action per enrichment (Clay docs, September 2026).
At volume the ceiling matters. The largest self-serve tiers are 200,000 Actions and 50,000 Data Credits a month, and Actions cannot be topped up. A 1M-lookup month needs an Enterprise quote, so there is no public 1M price (Clay pricing, September 2026).
Pros
- Waterfalls and AI research columns on every plan.
- Public API and CLI on every plan (Clay docs, September 2026).
- An MCP server works in Claude and ChatGPT (Clay MCP guide, September 2026).
- A failed enrichment costs no credits.
Cons
- A fully enriched record can cost 6 to 20 credits.
- The HTTP API column needs Growth or Enterprise.
- No public price at 1M records.
- The API rate limit is per workspace and has no published number (Clay docs, September 2026).
Best for: agencies whose strategists build a custom table per client. Pricing: Free $0, Launch from $185 a month ($167 billed yearly), Growth from $495 ($446 billed yearly) (Clay pricing, September 2026).
3. Apollo: best for agencies that also run outreach in the same tool

Apollo is a database plus a sequencer, dialer and CRM in one seat. For an agency whose reps send the sequences, that is the draw: data, enrichment and sending in a single login.
The price is per seat with credits attached. Basic is $65 a seat a month with 2,500 credits, or $49 billed yearly. Professional is $99 with 4,000 credits, and Organization is $149 with 6,000 and a three-seat minimum (Apollo pricing, September 2026). An email costs 1 credit and a phone number costs 8. Credits expire at the end of each billing cycle (Apollo API pricing, September 2026).
At 1M email lookups a month, the cheapest monthly path is 250 Professional seats at $24,750. Billed yearly, 400 Basic seats come to $19,600 a month. The price of extra credits is not public, so a cheaper path with add-ons cannot be priced.
Pros
- Data, sequences and dialer in one login.
- Every plan has API access, and enrichment endpoints allow 1,000 requests a minute on paid plans (Apollo rate limits, September 2026).
- A hosted MCP server works on any plan, including Free (Apollo MCP docs, September 2026).
- Credits are pooled across the team.
Cons
- Per-seat pricing grows with every rep you add.
- Phones cost 8 credits each.
- Credits expire each cycle and do not roll over.
- Extra credit prices are not public.
Best for: agencies that want data and outreach in a single tool. Pricing: Free $0, Basic $65 a seat monthly ($49 billed yearly) (Apollo pricing, September 2026).
4. FullEnrich: best for agencies that need mobile numbers on small lists
FullEnrich is a waterfall service. It asks 25+ sources for each email and phone, and bills credits for what it finds. It states about an 80% find rate on work emails (FullEnrich pricing, September 2026). That is a vendor claim, not a test we ran.
Pricing is by credits. Pro starts at $29 a month for 500 credits, or $26 billed yearly. A work email is 1 credit, a mobile is 10, and a miss costs nothing (FullEnrich docs, September 2026). The top public monthly tier is 100,000 credits for $3,500, which is 10% of a 1M month. Above that, contact sales.
The API is the tighter limit for an agency. It allows 60 calls a minute by default, with up to 100 contacts per bulk request (FullEnrich docs, September 2026).
Pros
- You pay for found data only.
- API, MCP, search and bulk CSV on every plan, with unlimited users (FullEnrich pricing, September 2026).
- Strong where a list needs mobile numbers.
Cons
- 60 API calls a minute is a low pace for bulk client pulls.
- No public price at 1M records.
- A mobile costs 10 credits.
Best for: agencies that enrich a few thousand contacts a month and care most about mobile numbers. Pricing: Pro from $29 a month for 500 credits ($26 billed yearly) (FullEnrich pricing, September 2026).
5. BetterContact: best for small agencies that pay only for valid results
BetterContact is a waterfall service that asks 20+ providers and charges only for valid results. One email with verification costs 1 credit and one mobile costs 10 (BetterContact docs, September 2026). It is the cheapest way in for a two-person agency.
Starter is $15 a month for 200 credits, about $12.50 billed yearly. Pro runs from $49 for 1,000 credits up to $1,999 for 50,000 credits. Enterprise starts from $799 a month on a custom quote (BetterContact pricing, September 2026). Unused credits roll over, which suits uneven client months.
There is no public price at 1M records, and we found no MCP server on its homepage, pricing page or docs index (BetterContact docs index, September 2026). The API allows 100 requests a minute on Starter and 200 on Pro (BetterContact API docs, September 2026).
Pros
- Lowest entry price here, with credits that roll over.
- You pay only for valid results.
- Bulk enrich takes up to 100 leads a call.
Cons
- No MCP server that we could find.
- 100 to 200 requests a minute is slow for large pulls.
- Phone add-on pricing is not published.
Best for: small agencies with uneven monthly volume and under about 10,000 valid emails a month. Pricing: Starter $15 a month ($12.50 billed yearly), Pro from $49 (BetterContact pricing, September 2026).
6. Prospeo: best for agencies whose reps prospect in a browser
Prospeo is an email and mobile finder sold per user. It has a REST API, an MCP server and a Chrome extension. It suits an agency where reps build lists by hand and want a verified email beside each profile.
Starter is $49 a user a month for 2,000 credits, or $37 billed yearly. Growth is $99 and Pro is $249 for 15,000 credits (Prospeo pricing, September 2026). A verified email is 1 credit and a mobile is 10. Nothing is charged for no result, or for re-enriching the same record inside 90 days (Prospeo help, September 2026).
No single tier reaches 1M. The cheapest public path on monthly billing is 44 Pro seats plus a 350,000-credit add-on, which comes to $14,456 a month. Enrich runs at 5 requests a second on Starter and Growth and 30 on Pro (Prospeo rate limits, September 2026).
Pros
- A hosted MCP server with 8 tools (Prospeo MCP docs, September 2026).
- No charge for misses or repeat lookups.
- A Chrome extension for hand prospecting.
Cons
- Per-user pricing multiplies with headcount.
- 1M a month needs dozens of seats or a large add-on.
- Free plan API access is unclear across its own pages.
Best for: agencies whose reps prospect in a browser and enrich in small batches. Pricing: Free $0 (100 credits), Starter $49 a user monthly ($37 billed yearly) (Prospeo pricing, September 2026).

How to choose
- You pull client lists through code, an agent or CSV: LeadOcean. The Agency plan is flat and allows client work.
- Your strategists build a custom workflow per client: Clay. Budget for credits and plan on a quote above 200,000 Actions.
- Your reps send sequences from the same tool: Apollo. Price it per seat, not per record.
- You need mobile numbers on a few thousand contacts: FullEnrich. Mind the 60 calls a minute.
- You have two people and uneven months: BetterContact. Credits roll over and you pay only for valid results.
- Your reps prospect in a browser: Prospeo. The Chrome extension is the reason to pick it.
Verdict
LeadOcean wins for agency owners who pull data at volume, because a flat $497 a month holds across every client and counts are free before you spend. Clay wins for no-code workflow builders, and the cost is its credit meter. Apollo wins when data and sending must live in one seat. FullEnrich wins for mobile numbers on small lists. BetterContact wins for the smallest agencies. Prospeo wins for browser prospecting. Many agencies pair two: a data layer for volume and a workspace for the rest. See the pricing page for the plans, and read what data enrichment actually costs before you quote a client.
FAQ
What is B2B data enrichment?
It adds missing fields to a record you already hold, such as a work email, a phone number or a company size. Our guide to what data enrichment is covers the basics and how it differs from cleaning.
Which enrichment tool is cheapest for an agency?
It depends on volume. BetterContact starts at $15 a month, so it is cheapest for a very small agency. At 1M records a month, LeadOcean Agency at $497 is the only price here that is both public and flat.
Can I use one plan for several clients?
LeadOcean Agency covers your own and your clients' work. Per-seat tools such as Apollo and Prospeo tie credits to seats, so confirm client use in their terms before you quote.
Do these tools have an MCP server?
LeadOcean, Clay, Apollo, FullEnrich and Prospeo do. We found none for BetterContact. LeadOcean's has 13 tools at https://api.leadocean.io/mcp and works on the Free plan.
Can I run enrichment from a script or CLI?
Yes. Every tool here has an API. For a terminal workflow, see the LeadOcean CLI for B2B data enrichment.
How do I size a client list before I pay?
Use a free count. LeadOcean's people and company counts cost no records, so you see the size of the audience before you export a single row.
Size your next client list for free and enrich it at a flat price
Free to start. No credit card. 1,000 records to spend whenever you like.
