Best lead enrichment tools

7 best lead enrichment tools for GTM engineers in 2026

Ranked for the person who wires enrichment into code, tables and agents: volume, price model, API, MCP and seats.

A lead enrichment tool takes a domain, email or LinkedIn URL and returns the missing fields: work email, phone, title and company data. GTM engineers need one that runs in code, in a table or through an agent, at a price that does not move when volume does.

Most people leave their first tool for one of three reasons. The credit meter punishes volume (Clay, Crustdata). Pricing is per seat, so a pipeline run by one script still pays for headcount (Apollo). Or the vendor sells a small plan and a sales call for everything above it (People Data Labs).

This list ranks 7 tools for that buyer. If you are not a GTM engineer, start with the general guide to the best lead enrichment tools. New to the role? Read what a GTM engineer does.

What we evaluated

  • Volume. Can one account run 1M lookups a month without a sales call, and what happens at the limit?
  • Price model. Per record, per credit, per seat or flat. We priced 1M work-email lookups for each and wrote "No public 1M price" where none exists.
  • API. Is the API on every plan, how fast can you call it, and which endpoints are gated?
  • MCP. Is there an official hosted MCP server, and who can use it?
  • Seats. Does the price grow with the number of people who log in, or with the number of keys you call it from?

1. LeadOcean: best for pulling data in code or with an agent

LeadOcean is a data layer, not a workspace. It holds 693M people and 67M companies, with 366M people carrying an email and 166M a phone. You call it over REST or a hosted MCP server.

The endpoints are the ones a GTM engineer expects: POST /v1/people/enrich, POST /v1/companies/enrich, /v1/people/search, /v1/companies/search, GET /v2/people/email/work and GET /v2/people/phone. Search takes 50 people filters and 34 company filters. Sizing calls are free: leadocean_count_leads and GET /v1/companies/count tell you how big a list is before you spend a record.

The MCP server has 13 tools and signs in with OAuth 2.1, with no key pasted. Claude and ChatGPT can search, enrich and export through it. Person enrich also returns career history: past roles, education, certifications and awards.

Pros

  • Flat pricing: Agency at $497 a month has a fair-use pace of 1M enrichments a day, not a credit meter.
  • Same data on every plan. Phones and bulk CSV export are included from Solo up.
  • Rate limits you can plan around: 5 requests a second on Free, 50 on Solo, 200 on Agency, 10,000 on Platform.
  • 13 MCP tools on every plan, with free count and filter tools.
  • An enrichment that finds nothing costs nothing.

Cons

  • No tables, sequencer, dialer or CRM. It is the data hop, not the workspace.
  • Free is 1,000 records for life, and bulk CSV export is not on Free.
  • No Chrome extension. If your reps want a sidebar, look elsewhere.
  • The v2 contact endpoints cost one record per call, including a miss.

Best for: GTM engineers who call enrichment from code, a Clay column or an agent and want a bill that stays flat.

Pricing: Free $0 (1,000 records for life, no card), Solo $97 a month, Agency $497 a month, Platform $1,997 a month. Source: LeadOcean pricing, October 2026.

2. Clay: best for building enrichment workflows in tables

Clay is the tool most GTM engineers already know. It is a spreadsheet where each column calls a data provider, an AI agent or an HTTP API. Clay lists 150+ data providers behind it (Clay MCP guide, October 2026). If your job is to design the workflow, Clay is the best place to do it.

The developer platform (Public API, CLI and plugin) is on every plan, including Free. Search is capped by plan: paid plans get 500 results per request. Clay publishes no rate-limit number for its API. Tables are read-only through the API, and structured table queries need Enterprise.

Clay has an MCP server, and Clay says new accounts get 500 free Clay credits on first connect (Clay MCP guide, October 2026). Seats are unlimited on every plan, which is rare.

clay homepage

Pros

  • Waterfalls, Claygent and an HTTP API column in one table.
  • Unlimited seats on every plan, including Free.
  • An enrichment that returns no result is charged no credits and no Actions.
  • Bring your own key, so you can run LeadOcean in a column and skip Clay credits for the data.

Cons

  • Two meters. A plan is Actions plus Data Credits, and Actions cannot be bought as top-ups.
  • Self-serve stops at 200,000 Actions and 50,000 Data Credits a month. Above that it is Enterprise by quote.
  • Clay's own doc puts a fully enriched record at 6 to 20 Data Credits.
  • The HTTP API column is on Growth and Enterprise only.

Best for: workflow design, with a cheaper data source plugged in underneath.

Pricing: Free $0, Launch from $185 a month ($167 billed yearly), Growth from $495 a month ($446 billed yearly), Enterprise custom. Source: Clay pricing, September 2026.

3. Crustdata: best for fresh people and company signals over API

Crustdata is an API-first vendor for people, company and job data, with watchers that flag changes. It is built for engineers and agents, not for reps. Its hosted MCP server is at install.crustdata.com, with OAuth sign-in for clients and an API key as a bearer token for code.

The meter is credits. Search costs 0.03 credits per result. A work-email lookup is 2 credits through /person/enrich, or 1 credit through /person/contact/enrich, which needs an enterprise plan. Self-serve keys get a 403 on that endpoint.

Rate limits are low for volume work: 15 requests a minute on person enrich and 30 on search. Batch person enrich takes up to 10,000 identifiers a job.

crustdata homepage

Pros

  • Official MCP server with a bearer-token option for headless code.
  • Watchers for job changes and company changes.
  • Batch jobs of up to 10,000 identifiers.
  • Misses on contact enrich are not billed.

Cons

  • The pricing page lists no plans, no dollar prices and no price per credit.
  • Contact enrich is gated to enterprise plans.
  • Default rate limits are per minute, not per second.
  • Purchased credits expire 12 months after purchase, per the docs.

Best for: teams that want signals and fresh profiles and will talk to sales.

Pricing: No public dollar price. Credits per call are in the docs. Source: Crustdata pricing docs, September 2026.

4. FullEnrich: best for waterfall email and phone finding

FullEnrich runs a waterfall across 25+ data sources and returns only what it verifies. It is the best pick when the job is "find the email and mobile for this list" and you do not care where the data comes from.

API, MCP, search, bulk CSV and HubSpot are on every plan, including the free trial. Users are unlimited. A work email costs 1 credit, a personal email 3 and a mobile 10. Not found costs 0.

The limit is 60 API calls a minute across Enrich, Reverse Email and Search, with up to 100 contacts per bulk request. That is fine for batches and slow for real-time loops.

Pros

  • Entry price of $29 a month for 500 credits.
  • API and MCP on every plan, with unlimited users.
  • Credits roll over: 3 months on monthly plans, 12 months on annual plans.
  • Integrations with Clay, n8n, Zapier and Make.

Cons

  • Credit-based, and the top monthly tier is 100,000 credits for $3,500. Above that, contact sales.
  • 60 calls a minute is a hard ceiling for high-volume scripts.
  • Credit costs rise fast for mobiles at 10 each.
  • Not a full database. It is an enrichment layer.

Best for: email and mobile finding at small to mid volume, wired into Clay or n8n.

Pricing: Pro from $29 a month for 500 credits ($26 a month billed yearly). Source: FullEnrich pricing, September 2026.

5. Apollo: best for one tool that covers data, outreach and API

Apollo is a prospecting database with a sequencer, dialer and CRM sync attached. Every plan has API access, and the official MCP server at mcp.apollo.io is open to every plan, including Free.

The price model is per seat with credits attached. An email is 1 credit, a phone 8, and people enrichment by API runs 1 to 9. Paid plans get 1,000 enrichment calls a minute with no hourly or daily limit.

For a GTM engineer the catch is seats. Credits are granted per seat, so volume turns into headcount. Search is stricter: 200 a minute and 50,000 a day on paid plans.

apollo homepage

Pros

  • Free plan with API access and MCP.
  • 1,000 enrichment calls a minute on paid plans.
  • Sequencer, dialer and CRM in the same product.
  • Official MCP server, also a built-in connector in Claude and ChatGPT.

Cons

  • Per-seat credits: 1M emails a month is 250 Professional seats at list price.
  • A phone number costs 8 credits.
  • Price per extra credit is not published.
  • You pay for the workspace even if you only want the data.

Best for: teams that run outreach in the same tool and keep volume modest.

Pricing: Free, Basic $65, Professional $99, Organization $149 per seat a month ($49, $79 and $119 billed yearly). Source: Apollo pricing, September 2026.

6. Prospeo: best for low-cost verified emails with an API

Prospeo sells verified emails and mobiles on a credit-per-record model, and it is cheap at small scale. A verified email is 1 credit and a mobile is 10, with email included. A request that returns nothing costs 0, and re-enriching the same record within 90 days is free.

The hosted MCP server at mcp.prospeo.io has 8 tools, with OAuth 2.0 or an API key. Rate limits depend on the plan: Starter and Growth get 5 enrich requests a second, Pro gets 30.

Credits are per user and pooled across the team. Unused credits expire at the end of each cycle.

Pros

  • Per-credit price falls to $0.0166 on Pro (monthly billing).
  • Failed lookups and 90-day re-enrichments cost nothing.
  • Official MCP server with 8 tools.
  • Add-on credits are shared by the team and do not grow with seats.

Cons

  • Credits expire at the end of each cycle.
  • Add-ons are a recurring subscription, with no one-time top-ups.
  • No tier reaches 1M. The cheapest public path is 44 Pro seats plus the 350,000-credit add-on.
  • Search API requests cost 1 credit and return up to 25 results with no contact data.

Best for: teams under 100,000 lookups a month that want cheap, verified emails.

Pricing: Free $0, Starter $49, Growth $99, Pro $249 per user a month ($37, $74 and $187 billed yearly). Source: Prospeo pricing, September 2026.

7. People Data Labs: best for raw person and company records

People Data Labs (PDL) is a bulk data vendor. Its full person dataset is 2,466,510,427 profiles, and its company dataset is 76,606,079 records. It is built for engineers who store the data themselves.

Pro starts at $98 a month for 350 credits, $0.28 a credit. PDL says Pro person profiles cost about $0.20 to $0.28 each. Self-serve is meant for volumes below roughly 100,000 person profiles a year. Above that you talk to sales.

Person enrichment allows 1,000 requests a minute on paying plans. Person search is 10 a minute by default. PDL has no official MCP server. Only community ones exist.

people-data-labs homepage

Pros

  • The largest person dataset on this list, per PDL's own stats.
  • A request that returns nothing (404) is not billed.
  • Bulk enrichment takes up to 100 persons per request.
  • Clear per-credit pricing on the entry tier.

Cons

  • Per-record pricing, and no public price at volume.
  • No official MCP server.
  • Person search is 10 requests a minute by default.
  • Contact data is obscured on the Free plan.

Best for: engineers who license a dataset and build on it.

Pricing: Free (100 credits a month), Pro from $98 a month ($78 a month billed yearly), Enterprise custom. Source: PDL person pricing, September 2026.

How to choose

  • You call enrichment from code or an agent. Pick LeadOcean. Flat price and a per-second rate limit beat a per-credit meter.
  • You design workflows in tables. Pick Clay, and put a flat-price source in an HTTP API column so Data Credits go to the steps that need them.
  • You need fresh signals and job changes. Pick Crustdata, and expect a sales call for contact data.
  • You want emails and mobiles for a list, nothing else. Pick FullEnrich or Prospeo, depending on whether you want a waterfall or a lower unit price.
  • Your reps live in one tool. Pick Apollo and keep volume modest.
  • You build a product on raw records. Pick People Data Labs and budget for Enterprise.

Verdict

LeadOcean wins for GTM engineers who pull data in code or through an agent: one flat price, per-second rate limits and a 13-tool MCP server. Clay wins for the workflow layer, and the two work together through an HTTP API column. FullEnrich wins for waterfall email and phone finding, and Prospeo for cheap verified emails. Apollo wins for teams that want data and outreach in one login, Crustdata for fresh signals and People Data Labs for raw records. Price 1M lookups before you commit: only three tools on this list give you a public number.

FAQ

What is the best lead enrichment tool for a GTM engineer?

It depends on where you work. If you call enrichment from code or an agent, LeadOcean has the flattest price and a per-second rate limit. If you build workflows in tables, Clay is the standard.

How much does lead enrichment cost at 1M records a month?

LeadOcean Agency is $497 a month on a fair-use pace. Apollo is $24,750 a month at list price, and Prospeo $14,456. Clay, Crustdata, FullEnrich and People Data Labs publish no 1M price.

Do I need Clay if I have an enrichment API?

Not for the data. Clay is a workflow tool, so you keep it for orchestration and call an API for the data. Use an HTTP API column and a conditional run to skip rows that are already filled.

Which enrichment tools have an MCP server?

LeadOcean (13 tools), Clay, Crustdata, FullEnrich, Apollo and Prospeo have hosted MCP servers. People Data Labs has no official one. See the LeadOcean MCP docs for the tool list.

Does per-seat pricing matter for enrichment?

Yes, if the work is done by scripts. Apollo and Prospeo grow with seats, while Clay and FullEnrich give unlimited seats. LeadOcean prices by plan and keys, not by seat. See the GTM engineer page and pricing.
