A LinkedIn scraper MCP is a hosted server that lets an AI agent pull LinkedIn-sourced profile and company data through tool calls. Sales and RevOps teams that prospect from Claude or Cursor need one.

Most people leave the first one they try for two reasons. A true scraper bills per record and returns profile fields, not mailable emails. A database MCP returns emails, but bills in credits that run out. This page ranks six, splits them into scraper or database, and prices 1M records.

Compare the non-MCP options in best LinkedIn scrapers and best lead scraper tools. Head-to-head pages: Apollo, Crustdata, Coresignal.

"1M records" means 1M work-email lookups for the four databases. For the two scrapers it means 1M scraped profiles, and neither promises an email. Figures are list prices.

What we evaluated

  • Source of the data: a live scrape of LinkedIn or a stored database.
  • What comes back: profile fields only, or emails and phones too.
  • MCP access: hosted server, auth method, and which plan opens it.
  • Price at volume: list price per record and the cost of 1M a month.
  • Limits that bite: rate limits, expiring credits, enterprise-only endpoints.

We read each vendor's pricing page and docs in September and October 2026. We ran one live test, on LeadOcean only (see below). We did not run find-rate tests on the others.

1. LeadOcean: best for agents and volume

LeadOcean does not scrape LinkedIn. It is a stored database of 693M people and 67M companies, with a hosted MCP server at https://api.leadocean.io/mcp. You sign in with OAuth 2.1 and paste no key.

The server has 13 tools. leadocean_count_leads is free, so an agent sizes a list before it pulls one. We ran it on 2026-10-21 with jobLevel VP, jobFunction Sales & Business Development and country CA. It returned 5,574 mailable people across 3,873 companies, and 18,800 with no email condition. It spent 0 records. "Mailable" here means verified, catch-all-valid or catch-all email, the tool's default.

Enrich takes a linkedin_url and returns the profile and the current role. Since October 2026 it also returns career history: past roles, education, certifications and awards. Past employers carry no company_id yet. Records refresh monthly, so a fresh job change can lag a live scrape.

Pros

  • MCP on every plan, Free included.
  • Free counts: leadocean_count_leads and leadocean_count_companies.
  • Email status on every record, so you filter before you send.
  • Agency is $497 a month with no credits and no overage invoice.

Cons

  • No LinkedIn posts, comments or reactions.
  • Monthly refresh, not a live fetch.
  • No sequencer, dialer or CRM. The app is an Exports page.

Best for: agents and RevOps that need contacts at volume on a fixed bill. Pricing: Free $0 for 1,000 records, Solo $97, Agency $497, Platform $1,997 a month (LeadOcean pricing, October 2026).

2. Apollo: best for reps who also sequence

apollo homepage

Apollo is a database with a sales workspace on top. It runs an official MCP server at https://mcp.apollo.io/mcp with OAuth 2.0 or an API key (Apollo MCP docs, September 2026). Any plan qualifies, Free included.

It fits when the same person finds leads and sends sequences. It fits badly at volume. An email costs 1 credit and a phone costs 8. Credits are per seat, so 1M email lookups means about 250 Professional seats on monthly billing (Apollo API pricing, September 2026).

Pros

  • Official MCP on every plan.
  • Sequencer, dialer and CRM sync in the same product.
  • Generous paid enrichment limit: 1,000 requests a minute.

Cons

  • Seat-based credits make 1M lookups expensive.
  • A phone number costs 8 credits.
  • Free allows 600 requests a day.

Best for: reps and small teams that prospect and sequence in one tool. Pricing: Free; Basic $65 per seat a month, $49 billed yearly (Apollo pricing, September 2026).

3. Crustdata: best for live data and change watchers

crustdata homepage

Crustdata sells people and company data, with live endpoints and watchers that alert on changes. Its hosted MCP server sits at https://install.crustdata.com/mcp, with OAuth for clients and an API key as a bearer token for code (Crustdata MCP docs, September 2026).

The price is the catch. The pricing page lists no plan names and no dollar prices (Crustdata pricing, September 2026). Docs give credits per call: person enrich is 1 to 7 credits, and a work-email lookup is 2. Rate limits are low: 15 requests a minute on enrich (Crustdata rate limits, September 2026).

Pros

  • Hosted MCP with OAuth.
  • Watchers flag people who change jobs.
  • Misses on contact enrich are not billed.

Cons

  • No public dollar price, so you cannot budget before you talk to sales.
  • Contact enrich needs an enterprise plan.
  • Purchased credits expire after 12 months, per the docs.

Best for: teams that need change alerts and accept a quoted price. Pricing: Credit based, no public dollar price (Crustdata docs, September 2026).

4. Coresignal: best for profile history and job postings

coresignal homepage

Coresignal is a data vendor with a deep employee and job-posting archive. Its MCP server uses OAuth 2.1 and has 5 tools. entity_search costs 20 credits a call and entity_fetch costs 20 credits per employee or company record. entity_fields and artifact_read are free (Coresignal MCP docs, September 2026).

Email is not its strength. Contact enrichment costs 20 credits a call and starts at Pro ($499 a month). The MCP email price is documented two ways, 10 and 20 credits, and we use 20.

Pros

  • Large coverage: the homepage claims 907M+ employee records.
  • Free trial of 2,000 credits works with the MCP server.
  • Rate limits climb from 5 to 100 requests a second by plan.

Cons

  • At 20 credits a record, 1M lookups outgrow the top public plan.
  • Free trial credits last 7 days.
  • Pricing page and docs disagree on the Growth support tier.

Best for: research and recruiting teams that want job postings and profile history. Pricing: Mini $49 a month for 2,500 credits; Elite $5,000 a month for 10,000,000 (Coresignal pricing, September 2026).

5. Bright Data: best for fresh LinkedIn profiles by URL

Bright Data is the closest thing here to a real LinkedIn scraper behind an MCP. Its server has 32 tools. The scrapers group finds a pre-built scraper by site, such as linkedin.com. It then runs on a list of URLs and bills per record (Bright Data MCP tools, October 2026).

Its LinkedIn people scraper lists name, position, about, posts and current company among its fields (Bright Data pricing, October 2026). We found no email field in that list. Plan on a second tool for contact data. The same pricing page also lists LinkedIn company, job listing and posts scrapers. You also carry the legal and terms-of-service risk of scraping a site that forbids it.

Pros

  • Live pull, so a job change shows up on the next run.
  • Posts are in the field list, which a database lacks.
  • 5,000 free records a month, no card, per the docs.

Cons

  • No email or phone in the listed LinkedIn fields.
  • The per-1K rate did not render in plain text for us, so we quote none.
  • You must already have the profile URLs.

Best for: teams that hold a URL list and need fresh profile fields or posts. Pricing: Free 5,000 records a month, pay as you go, Scale plan with 384,000 records included (Bright Data pricing, October 2026).

6. Apify: best for custom Actors and odd sources

Apify is a marketplace of scrapers called Actors. Its hosted MCP server at https://mcp.apify.com signs in with OAuth and lets an agent find and run Actors from the Store (Apify MCP docs, October 2026). LinkedIn Actors are written by third parties, so quality and price vary by Actor.

The platform plan is cheap: Free $0, Starter $19, Scale $199 and Business $999 a month. Each includes prepaid usage, with compute at $0.2 to $0.13 per unit (Apify pricing, October 2026). The Actor's own price per result comes on top or inside it.

Pros

  • One server reaches thousands of scrapers, not only LinkedIn.
  • Low entry price and a free plan.
  • Build your own Actor for a source nobody sells.

Cons

  • Quality and legality depend on the Actor's author.
  • No single price per profile: each Actor sets its own.
  • Free plan caps at 5 concurrent runs.

Best for: engineers who want to pick or build the scraper themselves. Pricing: Free; Starter $19 a month plus usage (Apify pricing, October 2026).

How the cost at 1M works

The 1M column is not like for like, so read the method. For the four databases we count 1M work-email lookups that return a result. Apollo bills 1 credit per email. That means about 250 Professional seats at $99 on monthly billing. On yearly billing it is 400 Basic seats at $49 (Apollo pricing, September 2026). That is seat arithmetic, not a quote, and Apollo may sell it differently.

Crustdata's 2,000,000 credits come from 1 base plus 1 business-email credit per lookup. Coresignal's 20 credits per lookup puts 1M at 20,000,000 credits, past its top public plan. We did not multiply any rate out to a price where the vendor publishes none.

For the scrapers, a profile is the unit. Bright Data prices per 1K records, but the rate loads by script and did not render for us, so we quote no 1M figure (Bright Data pricing, October 2026). Apify's price per result is set by each Actor's author, so pick the Actor and read its own pricing before you size a run.

How to choose

  • You need emails at volume for an agent: LeadOcean. Count free, enrich by LinkedIn URL, pay a flat monthly price.
  • You also sequence and call: Apollo. Accept the seat price.
  • You need job-change alerts: Crustdata, once you have a quote.
  • You research companies and hiring: Coresignal.
  • You hold profile URLs and need fresh fields or posts: Bright Data, then add an email source.
  • You want to build your own scraper: Apify.

Verdict

LeadOcean wins for agents and volume, because it returns mailable contacts without scraping and the bill does not climb with records. Apollo wins for a rep who also needs a sequencer. Crustdata wins for change alerts, and Coresignal for profile history and job postings. Bright Data wins when you need a live LinkedIn pull or posts. Apify wins when you want to build the scraper yourself. Start with a free count on your own filters before you pay anyone.

FAQ

What is a LinkedIn scraper MCP?

It is a hosted MCP server that lets an agent fetch LinkedIn-sourced data by tool call. Some scrape live. Others query a stored database built from public profiles.

Is a database MCP better than a scraper?

For prospecting, usually yes. A database returns emails with a status and avoids a scrape per call. A scraper wins when you need a live profile or posts.

Can LeadOcean scrape LinkedIn posts?

No. LeadOcean returns profile, role, company and contact data from its own database, refreshed monthly. It does not return posts, comments or reactions.

How much do 1M LinkedIn records cost?

It ranges from $497 a month on LeadOcean Agency to about $24,750 a month on Apollo seats. Crustdata, Coresignal, Bright Data and Apify publish no 1M price we could read.

Do these MCP servers need an API key?

LeadOcean, Apollo, Crustdata, Coresignal and Apify offer OAuth sign-in, so you paste no key. Crustdata and Apollo also take a key for headless use.

Is scraping LinkedIn allowed?

LinkedIn's terms restrict automated collection. A database MCP shifts that work to the vendor, but you remain responsible for how you use the data. Ask counsel before you scrape at scale.
