Coresignal is a large professional-data provider that sells employee, company and job records on credits. LeadOcean is one people and company database you call over REST or MCP at one flat price, with phone numbers included. If you need job postings or the biggest raw profile count, use Coresignal. If you need contact data in code or an agent and a bill that does not scale with records, use LeadOcean.

Why teams switch from Coresignal

Every record costs credits

A multi-source employee or company record costs 20 credits, a Base record 10, and a contact enrichment 20 (Coresignal pricing, September 2026; docs). Volume means a bigger plan, and the plan sets the price per record.

The $499 plan is small

Coresignal Pro is $499 a month for 35,000 credits and 10 requests per second (Coresignal pricing, September 2026). That is 3,500 Base records or 1,750 multi-source records. LeadOcean Pro is the same $499 with no credit cap.

Emails, but no phone numbers

Coresignal's multi-source employee records carry professional emails with a confidence status (Coresignal data dictionary, September 2026). Its Base Employee API pages list no email field, and no phone field appears in either dictionary. If your outbound needs a dial, you add a second vendor.

Search is free, the answer is not

Search returns IDs at no charge, but every collect bills, and a search preview costs credits too. Bulk Collect stops at 10,000 records a request (Coresignal docs, September 2026). Pulling a million profiles is a job queue you have to run.

What 1M, 5M and 25M records cost

Coresignal prices per record in credits, so cost scales with volume. LeadOcean Pro stays at $499 a month. The Coresignal columns are list-price arithmetic at the Elite plan rate of $0.0005 a credit, the cheapest listed rate. Beyond 10M credits a month there is no listed plan, so you need a quote.

Records a monthCoresignal, Base (10 credits)Coresignal, multi-source (20 credits)LeadOcean
1M$5,000. One Elite plan.$10,000. Above one Elite plan.$499 a month.
5M$25,000. Custom quote.$50,000. Custom quote.$499 a month.
25M$125,000. Custom quote.$250,000. Custom quote.$499 a month. Past fair use, one email raises the headroom.

Arithmetic: credits per record x records x $0.0005, at list price and before any volume discount (Coresignal pricing, September 2026; Coresignal docs, September 2026). At the $499 Pro rate of about $0.014 a credit (35,000 credits), 1M Base records would be about $143,000, which is why volume buyers move up a plan.

Coresignal lists no plan above Elite, which is $5,000 a month for 10,000,000 credits at $0.0005 a credit. Beyond that there is no public price, and two Elite months at the same rate is our derived figure of $10,000 for 20,000,000 credits (Coresignal pricing, September 2026).

Your real number depends on the endpoint. Job postings cost 1 credit, so a jobs-only pull is cheap on Coresignal. The free trial's 2,000 credits buy 100 to 200 people.

Where LeadOcean wins

A flat bill at any volume

Pro is $499 a month. Every person or company returned counts as a record, but there is no credit balance to watch and no overage invoice. A very large month is paced down to one request a minute until the reset, not cut off, and one email to support gets you more headroom.

Phone numbers and 13 email statuses

166M people carry a phone number, reachable at GET /v2/people/phone. Email status comes back with 13 values from verified and catch_all_valid to risky and spam_trap, so you can filter to mailable before you send.

Built for code and agents

The same data is reachable over REST and MCP, and the Free plan includes both. One request returns a profile, an email status and, with reveal_email, every email and phone number we hold, for one record.

bash
curl -X POST "https://api.leadocean.io/v1/people/enrich" \
  -H "x-api-key: $LEADOCEAN_API_KEY" \
  -H "content-type: application/json" \
  -d '{"linkedin_url":"https://www.linkedin.com/in/jane-doe","reveal_email":true}'

For Claude or Cursor, add the MCP URL https://api.leadocean.io/mcp and sign in with OAuth. Sizing an audience with count_leads costs nothing.

Search and export at database scale

Search people with 50 filters and companies with 34, across 254 countries and 534 industries. Export up to 50,000 rows per request with POST /v1/exports, so a 1M-row pull is 20 calls over two days.

Where Coresignal wins

A bigger dataset

Coresignal lists 907M+ employee profiles and 70M+ companies (Coresignal, September 2026). LeadOcean holds 693M people and 63M companies. On raw size Coresignal is ahead.

Job postings and live profiles

Coresignal sells 482M+ job postings at 1 credit each, and a Real-time Employee API that fetches live profiles. LeadOcean has neither. Hiring signals and on-demand refresh are Coresignal's ground.

Datasets and account support

Coresignal ships flat-file datasets from $1,000 a month, with an account manager on the larger plans (Coresignal pricing, September 2026). If your team loads data into a warehouse, that is a better fit than an API.

Use both: Coresignal for signals, LeadOcean for contacts

Keep Coresignal for job postings and company signals, and use LeadOcean as the contact layer. Coresignal finds the account and the hiring trigger. LeadOcean finds the people, their mailable emails and their phones. You pay Coresignal for one credit per job posting, not 20 per profile.

  1. Create a free LeadOcean key at app.leadocean.io/register. The free plan needs no card.
  2. Pull target companies and job signals from Coresignal, and keep each company domain.
  3. Call LeadOcean with those domains. Filter by job level and function, check email_status, and fetch phones with GET /v2/people/phone only for the people you will call.

FAQ

Is LeadOcean a full Coresignal replacement?

No. It replaces Coresignal as a people and contact source. If you need job postings, live profile fetches or flat-file datasets, keep Coresignal.

How many credits does a Coresignal record cost?

A Base employee or company record costs 10 credits and a multi-source record costs 20. A job posting costs 1, and a contact enrichment costs 20 (Coresignal pricing, September 2026; docs).

Does Coresignal have an API or an MCP server?

Both. The API covers search, collect and bulk collect. The MCP server signs in with OAuth 2.1, exposes 5 tools, and bills entity_search at 20 credits a call (Coresignal MCP docs).

Does Coresignal provide phone numbers?

Its multi-source employee records carry professional emails, and no phone field appears in its employee data dictionaries (Coresignal data dictionary, September 2026). LeadOcean has a phone number for 166M people.

What does LeadOcean cost, and is there a limit?

Free gives you 1,000 records, one-off, with no card. Pro is $499 a month, flat, with no credits and no per-record price. Past the fair-usage line a very large month is paced down instead of cut off.

Do I need a credit card to try it?

No. The free plan needs a work email and no card, and it has the same API and MCP server as Pro. Your 1,000 records last until you spend them.
