What you get
Send a LinkedIn company page URL and LeadOcean returns the company record as leadocean.company.v1. The domain you want is company_data.company_domain. The same call also returns firmographics and website technology, so you can qualify the account without a second lookup. Values we do not hold come back as null, never guessed.
| Field | What it is | Example |
|---|---|---|
company_data.company_domain | Website domain. This is the answer you came for. | "acme.com" |
company_data.company_name | Name | "Acme" |
company_data.company_social_links | Social links, including the LinkedIn page | "https://www.linkedin.com/company/acme" |
company_data.company_employees | Headcount and a size band code | 240, "201-500" |
company_data.company_industries[] | Industry names with a priority | "Manufacturing" |
company_data.company_primary_address | City, state, country, country code | "Austin", "US" |
company_data.company_linkedin_followers | LinkedIn followers | 18250 |
company_detected_technologies[] | Product, category and last detected date | "Cloudflare", "2026-08-21" |
company_metrics | completion_score and marketability_score | 94, 81 |
meta | Sources, fetched_at, schema | "leadocean.company.v1" |
What you send
| Input | Required | Note |
|---|---|---|
linkedin_url | One of the two | LinkedIn company page URL, for example https://www.linkedin.com/company/acme. |
domain | One of the two | Website domain. Use it when you already have the domain and want the rest of the record. |
There is no lookup by company name. If all you have is a name, search companies first, then enrich the domain you get back. More lookups are in the enrichments hub.
Three ways to run it
In the app
The LinkedIn-URL-to-domain lookup is not an export column. The Exports page at app.leadocean.io exports people, and its column picker includes each person's current company: current_company_domain, current_company_linkedin_url, current_company_name and current_company_website. If you export people, you get their employer's domain next to the LinkedIn URL without a lookup. For a list of company URLs, use the API or an agent.
With the API
curl -X POST "https://api.leadocean.io/v1/companies/enrich" \
-H "x-api-key: $LEADOCEAN_API_KEY" \
-H "content-type: application/json" \
-d '{"linkedin_url":"https://www.linkedin.com/company/acme"}'A hit returns success: true, the data object and meta.credits: 1. Read the domain from data.company_data.company_domain. GET works too, with linkedin_url as a query parameter. Code samples and error handling are on the API page.
From an AI agent
The MCP tool is leadocean_get_company. It takes domain or linkedin_url. Try: "What is the website domain for https://www.linkedin.com/company/acme, and how many people work there?" Setup is on the MCP page. To go the other way, from domain to record, read look up companies by domain in Go.
What it costs
One lookup is 1 record. A 404, meaning we hold nothing for that company, costs nothing. Rejected requests (429, 402, 503) are never metered either.
Free gives you 1,000 records, one-off, no card. Pro is $499 a month, flat, with no per-record price. See pricing.
Worked example: you have 10,000 LinkedIn company URLs and 8,700 are found. That is 8,700 records, and the 1,300 misses cost nothing. Free covers the first 1,000 once. On Pro the month is $499 whatever the count, inside fair use.
Coverage
LeadOcean holds 63M companies (measured September 2026). Every company record carries company_domain, but a company we have never seen is a 404. Small and new pages are the likely misses, and the docs give no hit rate, so test a sample of your own list before you plan a batch. The same database holds 693M people.
Accuracy and limits
- Nulls are honest. Unknown values are
null, not guessed. Checkcompany_domainbefore you write it anywhere. - Check the date. Each record has
meta.fetched_at. The dataset is refreshed monthly, so a domain change in the last few weeks may not show yet. - Errors. 400 validation, 401 bad key, 403 missing scope, 404 not in our data, 429 too fast, 503 store unreachable.
- Rate limit. 100 requests per second per key, on every plan.
- Gap. The docs do not say how a LinkedIn URL is matched when a company has changed its vanity name. Test your own URLs.
FAQ
How do I get a website domain from a LinkedIn company URL?
Send the URL as linkedin_url to POST /v1/companies/enrich. The domain is in data.company_data.company_domain.
Does a company we do not hold cost a record?
No. A 404 costs nothing. You pay 1 record for each company returned.
Can I look up a company by name?
No. The endpoint takes a domain or a LinkedIn company URL. Search companies by name first, then enrich the domain.
Can I run a whole list at once?
Call the endpoint once per company. The rate limit is 100 requests per second per key, so 10,000 URLs fit in a couple of minutes.
