The prompt
Find investors who back [my category, e.g. cybersecurity].
1. Call leadocean_list_enum_values for industry and use
Venture Capital and Private Equity.
2. Call leadocean_count_leads with that industry and seniority
partner, founder, owner and c_suite. Do not add keywords.
3. Tell me the count and the filters you used.
4. Wait for my go. Then call leadocean_search_leads with the same
filters, limit 25, and keep only people whose headline or
company mentions my category. What it resolves to
| Filter | Value |
|---|---|
| industry | Venture Capital and Private Equity |
| seniority | partner, founder, owner, c_suite |
The industry list has a second value, Venture Capital and Private Equity Principals. Add it when you also want principals. Category is not a filter here: the prompt reads the returned rows instead. Keyword filters match the person's own profile text, not the firm's thesis, so they miss most investors.
How many match
514 mailable people matched on 1 October 2026. Filters: industry Venture Capital and Private Equity, seniority partner, founder, owner, c_suite.
Mailable means verified, catch_all_valid or catch_all, the count_leads default. The count is free. It covers every category, so your list will be smaller. Funding and investor filters are not used because count_leads does not support them.
What you get back
Search rows carry the fields below, plus name, email status and company domain. These are placeholder values, not real records.
| Title | Company size | Industry | Country |
|---|---|---|---|
| Partner | 11-50 | Venture Capital and Private Equity | US |
| Founding Partner | 1-10 | Venture Capital and Private Equity | GB |
| Managing Director | 51-200 | Venture Capital and Private Equity | DE |
Variations
- "Add country US and ask Claude to count again before searching."
- "Add Venture Capital and Private Equity Principals to the industry and compare the two counts."
- "Search 25 rows and rank the firms by how many of them mention my category in the headline."
Records it spends
The enum lookup and the count are free. leadocean_search_leads costs 1 record per person returned, so a limit of 25 costs 25 records. Ask Claude to confirm the cost before it searches. Free gives you 1,000 records one-off with no card. Pro is $499 a month. See pricing.
