Give Claude one URL and it returns the other company domains that share the brand name. It matches on company name, so it finds sibling brands and regional sites, not DNS redirects. Connect https://api.leadocean.io/mcp first. Setup is on the MCP page.
The prompt
Find alternate domains for this URL: https://www.acme.com/pricing
1. Reduce the URL to its bare domain (acme.com) and its brand
name (Acme).
2. Call leadocean_count_leads with companyName set to the brand
name. Tell me the count and the filters you used.
3. Do not call leadocean_search_companies until I say go.
4. When I say go, call leadocean_search_companies with name
set to the brand name and limit 10. Show the domain, company
name and country for each result.
5. Mark any domain that is not acme.com as an alternate. What it resolves to
| Filter | Value |
|---|---|
| companyName (count) | Acme |
| name (company search) | Acme |
| domain | acme.com (used only to mark the original in the results) |
The people count calls the brand filter companyName and the company search calls it name. All three take free text, so there are no enum strings to look up. The domain filter wants a bare domain, not a URL.
How many match
On 1 October 2026, 5,426 mailable people worked at companies with Acme in the name. Filters: companyName Acme.
The count is people, not domains, so read it as a size check. A common brand name returns many unrelated companies. A rare one returns a handful. Mailable means verified, catch_all_valid or catch_all, the count_leads default.
What you get back
Company search rows carry the fields below. These are placeholder values, not real records.
| Domain | Company | Country | Alternate? |
|---|---|---|---|
| acme.com | Acme | US | No, original |
| acme.co.uk | Acme UK | GB | Yes |
| acme-labs.io | Acme Labs | DE | Yes |
Check each alternate by hand. A shared name does not prove shared ownership.
Variations
- Add "and hqCountry DE" to find only the German entity of the brand.
- Add "excludeName Acme Labs" to the company search to drop a known false match.
- Ask Claude to "run leadocean_get_company on each alternate" when you want size and industry for the shortlist.
Records it spends
The count is free. leadocean_search_companies costs 1 record per company returned, so limit 10 costs 10 records. leadocean_get_company costs 1 record per call. Free gives you 1,000 records one-off with no card. Pro is $499 a month. See pricing.
