Old CRM rows bounce. LeadOcean tags every email with an email_status, so Claude can tell you which contacts to pull before the send. Connect https://api.leadocean.io/mcp first (setup is on the MCP page). It works in any MCP client.
The prompt
Here is a CRM export (CSV: name, title, company, domain, email), up to 20 rows.
1. Call leadocean_list_enum_values for email_status and tell me which values are safe to send, which to avoid and which to treat with care.
2. Call leadocean_count_leads for US VPs in Sales & Business Development whose emailStatus is risky, invalid, disposable, spam_trap or abuse. Report the count and the filters.
3. Call leadocean_get_lead for each row and compare the email_status to the email in my export.
4. Return a table: row, email_status, send / hold / drop.
5. Stop after 20 lookups and tell me how many records they spent. What it resolves to
| Filter | Value |
|---|---|
| jobLevel | VP |
| jobFunction | Sales & Business Development |
| country | US |
| emailStatus | risky, invalid, disposable, spam_trap, abuse |
Passing emailStatus replaces the mailable default. This count is the risky pool, not the safe one.
How many match
39,050 people matched on 1 October 2026. Filters: jobLevel VP, jobFunction Sales & Business Development, country US, emailStatus risky, invalid, disposable, spam_trap or abuse.
These are people whose best email carries one of those statuses, not mailable people. The count is free. Treat a high share of these in your own export as a reason to clean it first.
What you get back
Claude returns one verdict per row. These are placeholder values, not real records.
| Title | Company size | Industry | Country | email_status | Verdict |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| VP of Sales | 51-200 | Software Development | US | verified | send |
| VP, Business Development | 201-500 | Computer Software | US | risky | hold |
| Vice President, Sales | 51-200 | Software Development | US | invalid | drop |
Variations
- Add "also flag role addresses like info@ and derived addresses" to hold shared and untested mailboxes.
- Swap the segment line for "Directors of Marketing in GB" to size a second market.
- Ask Claude to group the verdicts by email domain to find a bad import source.
Records it spends
The enum lookup and the count are free. leadocean_get_lead costs 1 record per person found, so 20 rows cost up to 20 records. A person we hold nothing for costs nothing. Free gives you 1,000 records one-off with no card. Pro is $499 a month. See pricing. LeadOcean does not refund or credit back bounces, so read email_status before you send.
