Best contact enrichment APIs

7 Best Contact Enrichment APIs in 2026 (Compared)

Seven APIs that turn a LinkedIn URL, an email or a name into an email and a phone number, priced on the same 1M work-email lookups a month.

Get your free API key →Free to start. No credit card. 1,000 records to spend whenever you like.

A contact enrichment API takes one identifier and returns that person's work email, phone number and job details. The identifier is a LinkedIn URL, an email or a name and domain. Engineers, RevOps teams and agent builders use one when a list is too long to fill by hand. Most vendors bill in credits, and a mobile can cost ten times an email. That makes 1M lookups hard to price. Seats, add-ons and quotes hide the real number.

This page ranks seven APIs on one input, 1M work-email lookups that return a result, at list price in September 2026. LeadOcean is first for volume and agent buyers. Rivals with their own page: FullEnrich, Prospeo, Hunter, Apollo, People Data Labs and Crustdata.

"1M records" means 1M work-email lookups that return a result, at list price.

What we evaluated

  • Lookup input: whether you can enrich from a LinkedIn URL, an email, a person ID or only a name and domain.
  • Contact fields: work email, personal email and phone, and what each costs in credits or records.
  • Price at volume: flat, credits, seats or quote, and the cost of 1M lookups.
  • Rate limit: the default per second or minute, and whether bulk calls exist.
  • MCP: whether an agent can enrich through an official hosted server.

We ran no live accuracy test, so we quote no match or bounce rates. Where a vendor states one, we say so.

1. LeadOcean: best for volume, API and agent buyers

LeadOcean holds 693M people, 366M with an email and 166M with a phone number, plus 67M companies. Enrichment is POST /v1/people/enrich. Send exactly one of linkedin_url, email, phone or person_id, and set reveal_email to get the address back.

Phones come from GET /v2/people/phone. Work and personal emails come from GET /v2/people/email/work and GET /v2/people/email/personal. A person we hold nothing for is a free 404 on enrich. The v2 contact endpoints cost one record per call, including a miss.

Solo is $97 a month and Agency $497. There are no credits: each paid plan has a fair-use pace, and Agency's is 1M enrichments a day. Rate limits are 5 requests a second on Free, 50 on Solo and 200 on Agency. The MCP server at https://api.leadocean.io/mcp signs in with OAuth 2.1 and exposes 13 tools, so an agent can enrich directly.

Pros

  • Agency is $497 a month with no credit meter and no mobile surcharge. Reaching the pace slows the key, it does not stop it.
  • REST and MCP on every plan, including Free.
  • Person enrich returns career history: past roles, education and certifications, when held.
  • Free sizing calls: count an audience before you spend a record.
  • Every email carries one of 13 email_status values, so you filter before you send.

Cons

  • No name plus domain lookup. Search by domain first, then enrich by person_id.
  • One dataset, not a waterfall across many sources.
  • No sequencer, dialer, CRM or Chrome extension.
  • No refund or credit-back for bounced emails. Read email_status before sending.

Best for: engineers, RevOps and agents that enrich at volume and want a fixed bill.

Pricing: Free is 1,000 records, one-off, no card. Solo $97, Agency $497 and Platform $1,997 a month (LeadOcean pricing, October 2026).

2. FullEnrich: best for waterfall emails and mobiles

FullEnrich queries 25+ data sources for each contact and charges only for what it finds. A work email costs 1 credit, a personal email 3 and a mobile 10. A miss or a landline costs 0 (FullEnrich docs, September 2026).

The vendor states about an 80% find rate on work emails. We did not test that (FullEnrich pricing, September 2026). The API allows 60 calls a minute, with up to 100 contacts per bulk request. Over the limit it returns HTTP 429 (FullEnrich docs, September 2026).

API, MCP and search are on every plan, including the 50-credit free trial. The MCP server can search, enrich and export (FullEnrich help, September 2026).

Pros

  • Waterfall across 25+ sources in one call.
  • You pay nothing for a miss.
  • API and MCP on every plan, with unlimited users.

Cons

  • A mobile costs 10 credits, so phone-heavy pulls add up fast.
  • Above 100,000 credits a month, you contact sales.
  • 60 calls a minute is a low ceiling for a pipeline.

Best for: teams that want the highest find rate on emails and mobiles and accept credit pricing.

Pricing: Pro from $29 a month for 500 credits, or $26 a month billed yearly. Top monthly tier is 100,000 credits for $3,500 (FullEnrich pricing, September 2026).

3. Prospeo: best for verified emails and mobiles by seat

Prospeo charges 1 credit per verified email and 10 per mobile, with the email included. A lookup that returns nothing costs 0, and so does re-enriching the same record within 90 days (Prospeo help, September 2026).

Plans are per user. Starter is $49 a month for 2,000 credits, Growth is $99 for 5,000 and Pro is $249 for 15,000. Credits expire at the end of each cycle (Prospeo pricing, September 2026). The Enrich API allows 5 requests a second on Starter and 30 on Pro (Prospeo docs, September 2026).

The hosted MCP server at https://mcp.prospeo.io has 8 tools and signs in with OAuth 2.0 or an API key (Prospeo MCP docs, September 2026).

Pros

  • Cheap per credit on higher plans, with misses and repeats free.
  • Daily limit of 500,000 enrichments on Pro.
  • Official MCP server with OAuth.

Cons

  • No plan reaches 1M. The cheapest public path is 44 Pro seats plus a 350,000-credit add-on.
  • Credits do not roll over, and add-ons need a paid plan.
  • Starter and Growth cap enrichment at 2,000 and 5,000 a day.

Best for: small teams that enrich thousands of contacts a month and want verified emails.

Pricing: Free $0 with 100 credits a month. Starter $49, Growth $99, Pro $249 per user a month (Prospeo pricing, September 2026).

4. Hunter: best for email finding by domain

Hunter is an email finder with an API. Email Finder takes a domain or a name plus a domain and costs 1 credit per email found, with nothing charged for a miss. Verifying an email is half a credit (Hunter help, September 2026). Its homepage cites 150,430,313 verified email addresses (Hunter, September 2026).

The cheapest route to volume is Data Platform, which is API and bulk only. It sells 1,000,000 Search credits for $6,900, paid once and valid 12 months (Hunter Data Platform, September 2026). Limits are per endpoint: 15 requests a second and 500 a minute on Email Finder. A rate-limited call returns 403, not 429 (Hunter API docs, September 2026).

Hunter runs an official remote MCP server at https://mcp.hunter.io/mcp, included on every plan (Hunter MCP, September 2026).

Pros

  • The lowest public price at 1M lookups on this list after LeadOcean's Agency plan.
  • Name plus domain lookup, the input most lists already have.
  • Official MCP server on every plan.

Cons

  • An email index. Phone data is secondary.
  • Self-serve plans top out at Scale, 25,000 credits a month.
  • The $6,900 is a one-off purchase, not a monthly rate.

Best for: teams that already hold names and domains and need emails in bulk.

Pricing: Free $0 with 50 credits. Starter $49 a month for 2,000 credits, or $34 billed yearly (Hunter pricing, September 2026).

5. Apollo: best for enrichment inside a sales workspace

apollo homepage

Apollo is a sales platform with a data API on every plan. An email costs 1 credit and a phone number 8. Enrichment by API runs 1 to 9 credits, since a returned mobile adds 8 (Apollo docs, September 2026).

Credits are per seat, pooled across the team and expire each cycle. Professional is $99 a seat for 4,000 credits, so 1M lookups means 250 seats (Apollo pricing, September 2026). The price of an extra credit is not public.

Paid plans allow 1,000 enrichment calls a minute, and bulk enrichment takes 10 people per request (Apollo docs, September 2026). The official MCP server at https://mcp.apollo.io/mcp works on any plan and spends the same credits (Apollo docs, September 2026).

Pros

  • Sales workflow tools sit beside the data in one app.
  • 1,000 enrichment calls a minute on paid plans.
  • Official MCP server, including a built-in connector in Claude and ChatGPT.

Cons

  • Seat pricing makes volume costly: $24,750 a month for 1M lookups at list.
  • A phone number costs 8 credits.
  • Credits expire each cycle, including purchased add-ons.

Best for: sales teams that want data and outreach in one app.

Pricing: Free $0 with 75 credits. Basic $65, Professional $99, Organization $149 per seat a month (Apollo pricing, September 2026).

6. People Data Labs: best for licensed person data, per match

people-data-labs homepage

People Data Labs (PDL) sells person and company data by API and by licence. Its docs list 592M profiles with an email and 470M with a mobile phone (PDL docs, September 2026). One credit buys one match, and a 404 is not billed (PDL docs, September 2026).

Pro starts at $98 a month for 350 credits, or $0.28 each. PDL says Pro profiles run about $0.20 to $0.28 each (PDL blog, September 2026). Self-serve is meant for volumes under about 100,000 profiles, and above that you talk to sales. The Free plan hides contact data.

Person Enrichment allows 1,000 requests a minute on paid plans. Person Search allows 10 (PDL docs, September 2026). We found no official MCP server (PDL docs, September 2026).

Pros

  • Large stated person data, with 470M mobile phone profiles.
  • A miss costs nothing.
  • Bulk enrichment of 100 persons per request.

Cons

  • $0.28 a profile at the entry rate, with no public price at 1M.
  • No official MCP server.
  • Search is limited to 10 requests a minute.

Best for: teams that license data or enrich one match at a time with a per-match bill.

Pricing: Free up to 100 credits a month. Pro from $98 a month for 350 credits (PDL pricing, September 2026).

7. Crustdata: best for live data and signals in agents

crustdata homepage

Crustdata sells real-time people and company data through APIs for search, enrichment and change watchers. Its homepage claims 1B people (Crustdata, September 2026). A work email through /person/enrich costs 2 credits. The 1-credit contact endpoint needs an enterprise plan (Crustdata docs, September 2026).

The pricing page lists no plans, no dollar prices and no price per credit (Crustdata pricing, September 2026). Default limits are 15 requests a minute on enrich and 30 on search (Crustdata docs, September 2026).

The hosted MCP server at https://install.crustdata.com/mcp signs in with OAuth, and code can use an API key as a bearer token (Crustdata docs, September 2026).

Pros

  • Live data and change watchers.
  • Hosted MCP server with OAuth.
  • Misses on the contact endpoint are not billed.

Cons

  • No public price per credit, so you cannot price 1M from the site.
  • Low default rate limits: 15 enrichments a minute.
  • Contact enrichment is gated to enterprise plans.

Best for: AI SDR and signal workflows that need fresh data more than volume.

Pricing: Credit based, no public price list (Crustdata pricing, September 2026).

Verdict

LeadOcean wins for volume, API and agent buyers. Agency costs $497 a month with no credit meter, and the MCP server enriches directly. Its gap is the input: enrich by LinkedIn URL, email, phone or person ID, not by name and domain. FullEnrich wins for waterfall emails and mobiles. Hunter wins for cheap bulk emails from a domain list. Prospeo suits small verified-email budgets, Apollo a sales workspace, PDL licensed data and Crustdata live signals. Start on the free plan and run the same 100 lookups through two tools.
