Best enrichment APIs for sales teams

7 Best Enrichment APIs for B2B Sales Teams in 2026 (Compared)

Seven APIs that fill in people and company records for sales teams, priced on the same 1M records a month.

Get your free API key →Free to start. No credit card. 1,000 records to spend whenever you like.

An enrichment API takes a thin record, such as a LinkedIn URL, an email or a company domain, and returns the missing person and company fields. Sales teams use one to fill a CRM, score leads and give reps a verified email and phone number. Most teams leave a tool for two reasons: seat pricing that breaks at volume, and credits that run out mid-month.

This page ranks seven APIs on one input, 1M records a month, at list price. We ran no live accuracy test, so we quote vendor claims as claims. LeadOcean is first for teams that pull data through an API, an agent or at volume. Rivals with their own page: Apollo, ZoomInfo, Cognism, Lusha, People Data Labs and Crustdata. For the email-and-phone angle, see best contact enrichment APIs.

What we evaluated

  • Record types: whether one API enriches people and companies, and what each field costs in credits or records.
  • Price at volume: flat, credits, seats or quote, and the cost of 1M records a month.
  • Rate limit: the default per second or minute, and whether bulk calls exist.
  • MCP: whether an agent can enrich through an official hosted server.
  • Sales fit: email and phone coverage, plus what sits beside the API (a CRM, a sequencer, nothing).

1. LeadOcean: best for API, agent and volume buyers

LeadOcean holds 693M people, 366M with an email and 166M with a phone number, plus 67M companies. Person enrichment is POST /v1/people/enrich. Send exactly one of linkedin_url, email, phone or person_id, and set reveal_email to get the address back. Company enrichment is POST /v1/companies/enrich.

Phones come from GET /v2/people/phone. Work and personal emails come from GET /v2/people/email/work and GET /v2/people/email/personal. GET /v1/companies/{domain}/people lists the people at one company. Since October 2026, person enrich also returns career history: past roles, education, certifications and awards.

Sizing is free. GET /v1/companies/count and the MCP tool leadocean_count_companies count a company list before you spend a record. The MCP server at https://api.leadocean.io/mcp signs in with OAuth 2.1 and exposes 13 tools. A person we hold nothing for is a free 404 on enrich.

Pros

  • No credits. Paid plans have a fair-use pace, not a per-record price.
  • People and company enrichment, search and exports from one key.
  • REST and MCP on every plan, including Free.
  • Every email carries one of 13 email_status values, so you filter before you send.

Cons

  • No name plus domain lookup. Search by domain first, then enrich by person_id.
  • One dataset, not a waterfall across many sources.
  • No sequencer, dialer, CRM or Chrome extension. The app has an Exports page and nothing like a rep workspace.
  • No refund or credit-back for bounced emails. Read email_status before sending.

Best for: engineers, RevOps teams and agents that enrich at volume and want a predictable bill.

Pricing: Free is $0 for 1,000 records, one-off, no card, at 5 requests a second. Solo is $97 a month at 50 requests a second. Agency is $497 a month at 200 requests a second (LeadOcean pricing, October 2026).

2. Apollo: best for enrichment inside a sales workspace

apollo homepage

Apollo is a sales platform with a data API on every plan. An email costs 1 credit and a phone number 8. API enrichment runs 1 to 9 credits, since a returned mobile adds 8. Organization enrichment is 1 credit (Apollo docs, September 2026).

Credits are per seat, pooled across the team and expire each cycle. Professional is $99 a seat for 4,000 credits, so 1M email lookups means 250 seats (Apollo pricing, September 2026). The price of an extra credit is not public.

Paid plans allow 1,000 enrichment calls a minute, and bulk enrichment takes 10 people per request (Apollo docs, September 2026). The official MCP server at https://mcp.apollo.io/mcp works on any plan and spends the same credits (Apollo docs, September 2026).

Pros

  • Sequences and a dialer sit beside the data in one app.
  • 1,000 enrichment calls a minute on paid plans.
  • Official MCP server, including a built-in connector in Claude and ChatGPT.

Cons

  • Seat pricing makes volume costly: $24,750 a month for 1M lookups at list.
  • A phone number costs 8 credits.
  • Credits expire each cycle, including purchased add-ons.

Best for: reps who want data and outreach in one app.

Pricing: Free $0 with 75 credits. Basic $65, Professional $99 and Organization $149 per seat a month (Apollo pricing, September 2026).

3. ZoomInfo: best for enterprise suites and intent data

ZoomInfo is an enterprise sales intelligence suite. It does not publish platform prices, and most paid plans are billed annually upfront (ZoomInfo, July 2026). Its API product, GTM AI, sells data credits pay as you go.

List price per data credit falls with purchase size, from $0.45 for 100 credits to $0.25 at 100,000 ($25,000). One credit enriches or exports one company, contact or intent record. A record is charged once per 12 months (GTM AI pricing, September 2026). Search and lookup are free.

Limits are 5 requests a second on the free tier and 25 to 35 on paid packages. Batch enrichment takes 25 records per call (ZoomInfo docs, September 2026). There is an official MCP server for Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor (ZoomInfo docs, September 2026).

Pros

  • Intent data and a full GTM suite behind the same vendor.
  • Free tier of 1,000 data credits and 1,000 AI credits, no card.
  • A record re-enriched inside 12 months costs no extra credit.

Cons

  • The credit slider stops at 100,000 credits. Above that is Enterprise.
  • Platform prices are quoted, not published.
  • Rate limits are low for a pipeline: 25 to 35 requests a second.

Best for: enterprise sales teams that want intent data and a suite.

Pricing: GTM AI credits from $20, $0.25 to $0.45 each by purchase size. Platform plans by quote (GTM AI pricing, September 2026).

4. Cognism: best for EMEA phone-verified contacts

cognism homepage

Cognism sells sales prospecting seats, a CRM enrichment product and a data-as-a-service feed. It publishes no dollar price. The pricing page lists Standard and Pro, five seats each, and says pricing depends on team setup and usage (Cognism pricing, September 2026).

One credit is one revealed contact. The same credits work in the app, in Enrich and in the API. The API allows 500 requests a minute per account, per operation. Search returns up to 100 records a page (Cognism docs, September 2026).

The hosted MCP server at https://mcp.cognism.com/mcp signs in with OAuth 2.0 and has 15 tools. They map one to one onto the API and use the same tokens and credits (Cognism docs, September 2026). API and MCP access need a package that includes them.

Pros

  • Phone-verified contacts and Do Not Call checks are a core feature.
  • Viewing a revealed contact again is free.
  • Official MCP server with OAuth 2.0.

Cons

  • No public price for a seat, a credit or a plan.
  • API access depends on your package.
  • 500 requests a minute is a low ceiling for bulk enrichment.

Best for: sales teams in Europe that prize mobile numbers and accept a quote.

Pricing: Quote only (Cognism pricing, September 2026).

5. Lusha: best for reps who enrich one contact at a time

lusha homepage

Lusha started as a browser extension and now ships a REST API and an MCP server on every plan. An email costs 1 credit, a phone number 5 and company info 1. A bulk request adds 1 credit per 25 results, up to 100 contacts a request (Lusha docs, September 2026).

Pro is $69.90 a month for 600 credits, and Premium is $399.90 for 3,400. The top public step is 10,000 credits a month, so 1M work emails, at 1,040,000 credits, is about 104 times that (Lusha pricing, September 2026). Scale is custom.

Rate limits are per key: Pro 50 a minute, Premium 300 a minute (Lusha docs, September 2026). The MCP server at https://mcp.lusha.com has 50 tools and shares the REST credit pool (Lusha docs, September 2026).

Pros

  • Low entry price and a free plan with 40 credits.
  • Waterfall enrichment on all paid plans, charged only on a match.
  • MCP server with 50 tools.

Cons

  • Credits are small: 3,400 a month on Premium.
  • A phone costs 5 credits, 8 through the waterfall.
  • Docs disagree on whether a no-match request is charged.

Best for: small teams and single reps who enrich a few hundred contacts a month.

Pricing: Free $0 with 40 credits. Starter $49.90, Pro $69.90 and Premium $399.90 a month (Lusha pricing, September 2026).

6. People Data Labs: best for licensed person data, per match

people-data-labs homepage

People Data Labs (PDL) sells person and company data by API and by licence. Its docs list 592M profiles with an email and 470M with a mobile phone (PDL docs, September 2026). One credit buys one match, and a 404 is not billed.

Pro starts at $98 a month for 350 credits, or $0.28 each. PDL says Pro profiles run about $0.20 to $0.28 each (PDL blog, February 2026). Self-serve is meant for volumes under about 100,000 profiles. Above that you talk to sales.

Person Enrichment allows 1,000 requests a minute on paid plans. Person Search allows 10 (PDL docs, September 2026). We found no official MCP server (PDL docs, September 2026).

Pros

  • Large stated person data, with 470M mobile phone profiles.
  • A miss costs nothing.
  • Bulk enrichment of 100 persons per request.

Cons

  • $0.28 a profile at the entry rate, with no public price at 1M.
  • No official MCP server.
  • Search is limited to 10 requests a minute.

Best for: teams that license data or enrich one match at a time on a per-match bill.

Pricing: Free up to 100 credits a month, contact data hidden. Pro from $98 a month for 350 credits (PDL pricing, September 2026).

7. Crustdata: best for live data and signals in agents

crustdata homepage

Crustdata sells real-time people and company data through APIs for search, enrichment and change watchers. A work email through /person/enrich costs 2 credits. The 1-credit contact endpoint needs an enterprise plan (Crustdata docs, September 2026).

The pricing page lists no plans, no dollar prices and no price per credit (Crustdata pricing, September 2026). Default limits are 15 requests a minute on enrich and 30 on search (Crustdata docs, September 2026).

The hosted MCP server at https://install.crustdata.com/mcp signs in with OAuth. Code can use an API key as a bearer token (Crustdata docs, September 2026).

Pros

  • Live data and change watchers for job moves.
  • Hosted MCP server with OAuth.
  • Search costs 0.03 credits per result.

Cons

  • No public price per credit, so you cannot price 1M from the site.
  • Low default rate limits: 15 enrichments a minute.
  • Contact enrichment is gated to enterprise plans.

Best for: AI SDR and signal workflows that need fresh data more than volume.

Pricing: Credit based, no public price list (Crustdata pricing, September 2026).

Verdict

LeadOcean wins for API, agent and volume buyers. Agency is $497 a month with no credit meter, and the MCP server enriches directly. Its gap is the input: enrich by LinkedIn URL, email, phone or person ID, not by name and domain. Apollo wins for reps who want a workspace. ZoomInfo wins for enterprise suites and intent, Cognism for EMEA mobiles, Lusha for single reps, PDL for licensed data and Crustdata for live signals. Start on the free plan and run the same 100 records through two tools.

FAQ

What is the best enrichment API for B2B sales teams?

For volume, code and agents, LeadOcean has flat monthly plans and an MCP server that enriches. For a sales workspace, Apollo. For enterprise intent data, ZoomInfo.

What is the cheapest enrichment API at 1M records a month?

On list price, LeadOcean Agency at $497 a month is the lowest published figure. Apollo needs about 250 seats, or $24,750 a month. ZoomInfo, Cognism, Lusha, PDL and Crustdata publish no 1M price, so ask for a quote.

Which enrichment APIs have an MCP server?

LeadOcean, Apollo, ZoomInfo, Cognism, Lusha and Crustdata have official hosted servers. We found no official PDL server.

What does a failed lookup cost?

On LeadOcean, a miss on POST /v1/people/enrich is a free 404. PDL does not bill a 404, and Crustdata does not bill a miss on the contact endpoint. Lusha's docs disagree on no-match requests, so test before you buy.

Why do phone numbers cost more than emails?

Vendors price phone data higher. Apollo charges 8 credits per phone against 1 for an email, and Lusha 5 against 1. LeadOcean counts one record whichever field you ask for.

Do I need a credit card to try LeadOcean?

No. The free plan needs no card. It gives you 1,000 records, one-off, with the same API and MCP server as the paid plans.

Enrich people and companies by API or agent on a flat plan. Start free.

Free to start. No credit card. 1,000 records to spend whenever you like.
