7 Best Enrichment Tools for folk in 2026 (Compared)

folk's own 1-click enrichment, five data sources and an API recipe, compared on field mapping, dedupe and what 10k and 1M records cost.

Get your free API key →Free to start. No credit card. 1,000 records to spend whenever you like.

folk enrichment fills blank email, phone, job title and company fields on the people in your folk CRM from an outside data source. Founders, agencies and small sales teams need it, because folk contacts often start as a name and a LinkedIn URL.

Most people outgrow folk's built-in enrichment on volume. Standard allows 500 enrichment credits a month and Premium 1,000, and a phone costs 4 credits. folk says it works around 50 to 60 percent of the time (October 2026). A 10k backlog is a long wait.

This page ranks seven routes, with list prices checked in September and October 2026. We link a full comparison where we have one: Apollo, Clay, Prospeo, Wiza and People Data Labs. For the wider picture read the best CRM enrichment tools, what data enrichment is and what waterfall enrichment is.

"1M records" means 1M work-email lookups that return a result, at list price. 10k means 10,000 of the same lookups.

What we evaluated

  • How it reaches folk: the built-in button, a provider inside folk's waterfall, a Zapier or Make route, or your own calls to the folk API.
  • Field mapping: which folk fields it fills, and whether it overwrites values your team typed.
  • Dedupe: how a new or updated row avoids a second copy of a person you already hold.
  • Cost per 10k and 1M records: the list price, with seats and credits worked out.
  • API and MCP: the endpoints, the rate limit and whether an agent can call it.

We ran no match-rate test, so we quote no find rates of our own. Every fact below comes from a vendor or folk page, linked beside it.

1. folk 1-click enrichment: best for founders who enrich inside folk

folk's built-in enrichment is the default for a reason: it is one click and needs no second vendor. You select people in a group, press Enrich, and choose email, phone or both. "Enrich all" takes up to 500 people at a time (folk help, October 2026).

It runs a waterfall. folk names Apollo, People Data Labs, Clearbit, Datagma, Prospeo and Dropcontact for emails, and People Data Labs, Wiza and Prospeo for phones. Fields it can fill are email, phone, company name, job title and contact URLs.

Field mapping is simple. Found data is added to the person, and it does not replace a value that is already there. A sparkle icon marks what was enriched. Enrichment also exists in the API as POST /v1/person-enrichments, for up to 500 people per request (folk developer docs, October 2026). It is asynchronous: you poll for the result or subscribe a webhook.

Pros

  • One click, no key and no second contract.
  • Credit is charged only when data is found.
  • missingInputs in the API result says what to add before a retry.

Cons

  • 500 credits a month on Standard and 1,000 on Premium. An email costs 1 credit and a phone 4.
  • folk says it works around 50 to 60 percent of the time, and phones usually need a LinkedIn URL.
  • People only. Company enrichment goes through a separate Research Assistant.

Best for: founders and small teams who want blank fields filled on a few hundred people without leaving folk.

Pricing: Standard is $30 per member a month ($24 billed yearly). Premium is $60 ($48), and API access starts there. Enterprise is from $100 ($80) (folk pricing, October 2026). 10k emails need 10,000 credits, which is 10 months of a Premium allowance.

2. LeadOcean: best for API, agent and volume buyers

LeadOcean is a data API with a hosted MCP server, holding 693M people and 67M companies. It has no folk app and no Chrome extension. You call it from a script, a Zapier or Make flow, or an agent, and write the answer into folk through folk's API.

POST /v1/people/enrich takes exactly one of linkedin_url, email, phone or person_id. Folk contacts usually carry a LinkedIn URL, so that is your key. A miss is a 404 and costs nothing. Each email comes back with an email_status of 13 possible values, so you write back only the addresses you trust. GET /v1/companies/count sizes an account list for free.

The recipe is three calls. Placeholder values only. First, list folk people with no email. Second, enrich each one. Third, write back 100 at a time.

bash
curl -s "https://api.folk.app/v1/people?filter[emails][empty]&limit=100" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $FOLK_API_KEY"

curl -s -X POST "https://api.leadocean.io/v1/people/enrich" \
  -H "x-api-key: $LEADOCEAN_API_KEY" -H "content-type: application/json" \
  -d '{"linkedin_url": "https://www.linkedin.com/in/jane-doe", "reveal_email": true}'

curl -s -X POST "https://api.folk.app/v1/people/batch/update" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $FOLK_API_KEY" -H "content-type: application/json" \
  -d '{"records": [{"id": "per_00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000", "emails": ["jane@acme.com"], "jobTitle": "Head of Sales"}]}'

Map contact_emails[0].email to emails, contact_phones[0].phone to phones and contact_current_experiences[0].job_title to jobTitle. Two folk rules matter here. List fields such as emails and phones replace the old values, so send the merged list (folk docs, October 2026). And leave groups out of a batch update, because a missing group is removed (folk docs, October 2026).

Dedupe is on folk's side. folk checks for duplicates when it creates people and merges them in the background, possibly overwriting provided data (folk docs, October 2026). Update people you already hold instead of creating them.

Pros

  • No credit meter and no seats. Agency is $497 a month and Solo is $97, each with a fair-use pace.
  • 10k enrichments fit inside one Solo window, which allows 10k every 5 hours.
  • REST and MCP on every plan, Free included. The server has 13 tools.
  • A 404 on the v1 enrich endpoints is free, and company counts are free.

Cons

  • No folk app, no extension and no scheduled sync. You run the loop.
  • No name plus domain lookup. You need an email, a LinkedIn URL, a phone or a person_id.
  • Rate limits are 5 requests a second on Free, 50 on Solo and 200 on Agency.
  • A v2 contact call that finds nothing still costs one record.

Best for: engineers, RevOps and agents that enrich folk in code and want a predictable bill.

Pricing: Free is 1,000 records, one-off, no card. Solo is $97 a month and Agency is $497 a month (LeadOcean pricing, October 2026).

3. Apollo: best for teams that want a prospecting app next to folk

apollo homepage

Apollo is a sales platform with a contact database, sequences and a dialer. folk lists it as one of its email providers, so Apollo data already reaches you through folk's 1-click button (folk integrations, October 2026).

An email costs 1 credit and a phone number costs 8. People enrichment by API is 1 to 9 credits (Apollo API pricing, September 2026). Credits are pooled across the team and expire each cycle.

Every plan includes API access. Enrichment endpoints allow 1,000 requests a minute on paid plans (Apollo rate limits, September 2026). The official MCP server works on any plan (Apollo docs, September 2026). Getting results into folk is a CSV import, a Zap or your own API calls.

Pros

  • API and MCP on every plan, Free included.
  • A large database plus outreach in one app.
  • 1,000 enrichment requests a minute on paid plans.

Cons

  • Priced per seat, so headcount moves the bill. 10k email lookups need 4 Basic seats at $65, which is $260 a month.
  • Credits expire each cycle, and a phone costs 8.
  • No folk sync of its own. You build and maintain the route.

Best for: sales teams that want data and outreach in one app and move the results into folk.

Pricing: Basic $65 per seat a month ($49 billed yearly). Professional $99 ($79). Organization $149 ($119), three seats minimum (Apollo pricing, September 2026).

4. Clay: best for operators who build waterfall tables

clay homepage

Clay is a spreadsheet that runs enrichment waterfalls across many data providers. It is not on folk's integrations list. The route into folk is Clay's HTTP API column, a Zapier or Make step, or the folk API (folk integrations, October 2026). The HTTP API column starts on Growth (Clay pricing, September 2026).

Clay charges Data Credits and one Action per enrichment. Its own docs say a fully enriched record typically costs 6 to 20 Data Credits. An email find is 0.5 credit in its worked example (Clay docs, September 2026). A lookup that returns nothing is not charged.

The developer platform (Public API and CLI) is on every plan, and Clay has an MCP server (Clay docs, September 2026, Clay MCP guide, September 2026). The largest self-serve tier is 50,000 Data Credits and 200,000 Actions a month, so 1M lookups a month is an Enterprise quote.

Pros

  • Waterfalls across many providers, with conditional runs.
  • A free plan with 100 Data Credits and 500 Actions a month.
  • No charge when a lookup returns nothing.

Cons

  • Two meters, Data Credits and Actions, and Actions cannot be topped up.
  • The HTTP API column that writes to folk needs Growth at $495 a month.
  • A full record costs 6 to 20 credits, so cost per row is hard to forecast.
  • No native folk integration.

Best for: operators who already live in Clay tables and want folk as the destination.

Pricing: Launch is $185 a month ($167 billed yearly). Growth is $495 ($446). Free is $0 (Clay pricing, September 2026). 10k email finds at 0.5 credit need 5,000 Data Credits and 10,000 Actions, which fits a Launch plan with the 6,000-credit tier.

5. Prospeo: best for verified emails and mobiles by API

Prospeo finds and verifies emails and mobiles. folk uses it twice, as an email provider and a phone provider in its waterfall (folk help, October 2026).

A verified email costs 1 credit and a mobile costs 10, with the email included. No result costs 0, and re-enriching the same record within 90 days is free (Prospeo help, September 2026). Bulk enrich takes up to 50 people on REST. The hosted MCP server has 8 tools (Prospeo MCP docs, September 2026).

Credits arrive per seat into a shared pool and do not roll over. Enrich API limits are 5 requests a second on Starter and Growth and 30 on Pro (Prospeo API docs, September 2026).

Pros

  • Free re-enrichment inside 90 days, and no charge for a miss.
  • A hosted MCP server and bulk REST enrichment.
  • Add-on credits fall to $0.01 each at the top of the slider.

Cons

  • Credits expire each cycle, and add-ons are a recurring subscription.
  • No single tier reaches 1M, so the 1M path mixes seats and add-ons.
  • No folk integration beyond the one inside folk's waterfall.

Best for: developers who want verified emails and mobiles by API and are happy to write to folk themselves.

Pricing: Starter is $49 per user a month for 2,000 credits ($37 billed yearly). Growth is $99 ($74). Pro is $249 ($187) (Prospeo pricing, September 2026). 10k lookups cost $189 on monthly billing: Growth at $99 plus a 5,000-credit add-on at $90.

6. Wiza: best for reps who build lists from LinkedIn

Wiza turns LinkedIn and Sales Navigator searches into contact lists. folk uses Wiza as a phone provider inside its waterfall, and folk also has a LinkedIn extension of its own (folk integrations, October 2026).

Paid plans are $49, $99 and $199 a month per user, or $83 and $166 a month per user billed yearly (Wiza pricing, September 2026). API access is listed on the Team plan, and Wiza's API page says to book a call for API pricing (Wiza API, September 2026).

On the API, a valid email costs 2 credits, a phone 5 and a matched profile 1 (Wiza docs, September 2026). An MCP server with 5 tools exists and needs API access and credits (Wiza MCP guide, September 2026).

Pros

  • Built for LinkedIn and Sales Navigator list building.
  • Credits are charged only for emails marked valid.
  • Unlimited email reveals on annual plans.

Cons

  • Per-user plans, and the API price is behind a sales call.
  • List exports stop at 2,500 a month per seat on annual plans.

Best for: reps who build prospect lists in LinkedIn and import them to folk.

Pricing: $49 to $199 per user a month, $83 to $166 billed yearly. A phone is $0.35 on the Email plan (Wiza pricing, September 2026). The price per API credit is not public.

7. People Data Labs: best for developers who want raw profiles

people-data-labs homepage

People Data Labs sells person and company data by API. folk lists it as a provider for emails and phones, so its data is already behind folk's button (folk help, October 2026).

One credit is used per successful match, and a 404 is not billed. Bulk enrichment takes up to 100 people per request (PDL docs, September 2026). Person enrichment allows 1,000 requests a minute on paying plans (PDL docs, September 2026).

We found no official PDL MCP server in its docs or llms.txt, only community ones (PDL docs, September 2026). Self-serve Pro is meant for under about 100,000 profiles a year.

Pros

  • Person and company data by API from one vendor.
  • 1,000 requests a minute on paying plans and bulk calls of 100.
  • A miss is not billed.

Cons

  • Pro starts at 350 credits for $98, about $0.28 a credit.
  • Self-serve stops near 100,000 profiles a year.

Best for: developers who want rich profiles to store in folk custom fields.

Pricing: Free is up to 100 credits a month with contact data obscured. Pro starts at $98 a month for 350 credits (PDL pricing, September 2026). PDL says Pro profiles cost about $0.20 to $0.28 each (PDL blog, February 2026). 10k profiles would be about $2,000 to $2,800, an estimate and not a quote.

How to choose

  • Code, agents or volume: LeadOcean. Flat price, REST and MCP on every plan, and a folk write-back that updates people you already hold.
  • A few hundred people and no new vendor: folk's 1-click button. Add a name, company and LinkedIn URL first.
  • A prospecting app with outreach: Apollo, then import to folk.
  • Waterfall tables you already run: Clay, writing to folk's API.
  • Verified emails and mobiles by API: Prospeo.
  • LinkedIn list building: Wiza.
  • Full profiles in custom fields: People Data Labs.
  • Cost for 10k lookups: LeadOcean fits in a $97 Solo window. Prospeo is $189, Apollo $260, Clay about $350 on Launch. PDL is about $2,000 to $2,800.

Whichever you pick, send the merged emails list and dedupe before a bulk write.

Verdict

LeadOcean wins for API, agent and volume buyers. It has a fair-use pace instead of credits and a free 404 on a miss. The folk recipe updates people in batches of 100, but you build the loop. folk's 1-click enrichment wins for small lists inside the app. Apollo wins for teams that want outreach next to folk, Clay for operators with waterfall tables, Prospeo for verified mobiles and Wiza for LinkedIn lists. People Data Labs wins when you need raw profiles. Start on the free plan and enrich the same 100 folk contacts in two tools.
