Attio enrichment fills the blank fields on People and Companies, such as work email, phone, job title, headcount and funding. Attio teams need it when a CSV import arrives with only a name, or when reps want a direct dial before a call.
Attio's own enrichment is automatic but narrow. Its help center lists name, description, logo, category, social links and location on every plan. Plus adds employee count and ARR, and Pro adds funding raised (Attio help, October 2026). It lists no email address, phone number or job title. Teams outgrow it quickly.
We rank seven tools by what they do to an Attio workspace. LeadOcean is one of them, so weigh our placement. For one-to-one comparisons see Clay, Apollo, Hunter and FullEnrich. For the method behind multi-source lookups, read what is waterfall enrichment.

What we evaluated
- Field mapping. Which Attio attributes the tool can fill, and whether you choose them. Attio's enriched attributes cannot be overwritten through the API, so the tool must write to the writable ones (Attio docs, October 2026).
- Dedupe. Attio People match on email address and Companies on domain, both unique attributes. We checked whether a tool updates a record or creates a second one.
- Native app vs API. Does it run inside Attio as an app or workflow step, or do you call it from a script?
- Cost per 10k and per 1M records. Monthly list price first, billed-yearly figure after it. "1M" means 1M work-email lookups that return a result, at list price.
- Rate limits. Attio allows 25 write requests a second and 100 reads (Attio docs, October 2026). A faster data tool only helps if it can wait for Attio.
1. Attio native enrichment: best for zero-setup company basics
Attio enriches records on its own. Create a person from an email address and Attio generates or matches a company from the email domain. Enriched attributes are filled by Attio and cannot be overridden by API users (Attio docs, October 2026).
That makes it free of setup and free of per-record fees. It also makes it shallow. Attio says it populates attributes such as location, social links and, from Plus, employee count and ARR. It does not list work emails, direct dials or job titles.
Use it as the base layer, and add a second tool for the contact fields. Attio's workspace credits cover AI features and workflow automations (Attio help, October 2026).
Pros
- Automatic. No key, no mapping, no script.
- No per-record price.
- Dedupes by design: company matched on domain.
Cons
- No work email, phone or job title in the documented attributes.
- Enriched values cannot be overwritten by your own data.
- No public volume or accuracy figures.
Best for: Small teams that want clean company records and will add a contact tool later.
Pricing: Free for up to 3 seats. Plus is $44 a user a month ($35 billed yearly). Pro is $99 ($79 billed yearly) and caps a workspace at 1,000,000 records (Attio pricing, October 2026).
2. LeadOcean: best for API, agent and volume buyers
LeadOcean is a people and company data API with 693M people, 366M with an email and 166M with a phone. One key does search and enrich. You call it from a script, an n8n flow or an AI agent, then write the result into Attio.
Enrich with POST /v1/people/enrich, using exactly one of linkedin_url, email, phone or person_id. Set reveal_email to true to get the email addresses and phones. A person we hold nothing for is a 404 and costs nothing (LeadOcean API reference, October 2026). Since October 2026 the response also carries career history in resume_data.
Here is the LeadOcean to Attio recipe. The first call enriches one Attio person by email. The second upserts the contact fields, sending only what was found. Attio's upsert matches on email_addresses, so it updates the existing person instead of creating a second one (Attio docs, October 2026).
curl -s -X POST https://api.leadocean.io/v1/people/enrich \
-H "x-api-key: $LEADOCEAN_API_KEY" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"email":"jane.doe@acme.com","reveal_email":true}' > person.json
JOB=$(jq -r '.data.contact_data.contact_current_experiences[0].job_title // empty' person.json)
PHONE=$(jq -r '.data.contact_data.contact_phones[0].phone // empty' person.json)
curl -s -X PUT "https://api.attio.com/v2/objects/people/records?matching_attribute=email_addresses" \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $ATTIO_API_KEY" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d "$(jq -n --arg job "$JOB" --arg phone "$PHONE" '{data:{values:(
{email_addresses:["jane.doe@acme.com"]}
+ (if $job != "" then {job_title:$job} else {} end)
+ (if $phone != "" then {phone_numbers:[$phone]} else {} end))}}')"Two Attio rules matter here. Phone numbers must be E.164 with a country prefix, such as +1 415 555 0133 written as +14155550133 (Attio docs, October 2026). And phone_numbers is a multi-value attribute, so an upsert replaces the list. Read the record first and send a phone only when the person has none. Also read contact_emails[].status and keep verified or catch_all_valid.
For a full outbound build, see the LeadOcean, n8n and Attio stack. Company lists are free to size with GET /v1/companies/count.
Pros
- Flat price: Solo $97 and Agency $497 a month, with a fair-use pace instead of credits.
- 13 MCP tools, so an agent can read Attio and call LeadOcean in one session.
- Counts, 404 misses and empty pages cost nothing.
Cons
- No Attio app. You write the mapping yourself.
- No rep workspace, sequencer, dialer, CRM or Chrome extension.
- Bulk CSV export is not on Free.
- No refund for bounced emails. Read
email_statusbefore sending.
Best for: Developers, RevOps engineers and agent builders who enrich Attio at volume.
Pricing: Free is $0 for 1,000 records, for life, with no card and 5 requests a second. Solo is $97 a month at 50 requests a second. Agency is $497 a month at 200 requests a second (LeadOcean pricing, October 2026).
3. Clay: best for RevOps who build tables

Clay has an official Attio app. It syncs both ways. Pull records from Attio or an Attio list into a Clay table and enrich them with 150+ data providers and AI agents. Then push results back with Create, Upsert, Update and Lookup Records actions (Attio app store, October 2026). Only Attio workspace admins can authorize the connection.
Clay is the strongest option when the logic is the product. You chain providers, add conditions, and write the winner to the right attribute. The cost is two meters: Actions and Data Credits. Clay's own documentation says a fully enriched record typically costs 6 to 20 Data Credits, plus one Action per enrichment (Clay docs, September 2026).
For 10,000 work-email lookups at Clay's documented 0.5 credit per email find, that is 5,000 credits and 10,000 Actions. On monthly Launch tiers that is $290 for 6,000 credits plus $60 for 15,000 Actions, or $350. This is our arithmetic, not a Clay quote (Clay pricing, September 2026).
Pros
- Official two-way Attio app with upsert.
- Waterfalls across 150+ providers.
- Public API on every plan, including Free (Clay docs, September 2026).
Cons
- Two meters make costs hard to forecast.
- The HTTP API column starts on Growth.
- No self-serve tier reaches 1M lookups a month.
Best for: RevOps teams that design enrichment logic in tables.
Pricing: Launch from $185 a month ($167 billed yearly). Growth from $495 a month ($446 billed yearly). Free is $0 with 100 Data Credits a month (Clay pricing, September 2026).
4. Databar: best for click-to-enrich inside Attio
Databar is the closest thing to a native enrichment button. Install its app, paste an API key, and click Enrich with Databar on a record. You can also select many records, or add Databar steps to an Attio workflow (Attio app store, October 2026).
Field mapping is the strong point. For each waterfall you choose which Attio attribute receives each output, or save the whole result as a note. The recommended write rule fills empty fields and appends to multi-value fields such as email addresses (Databar docs, October 2026). Rep-typed values stay put.
Databar publishes credits per month, not a price per lookup.
Pros
- Runs inside Attio on one record, a selection or a workflow.
- Choose the target attribute and the write rule.
Cons
- No public price per lookup.
- No public 1M price.
- Build plan limits batch enrich to 10k rows and 5 simultaneous requests.
- Credits per lookup are visible only inside the product.
Best for: Attio admins who want waterfalls without leaving the CRM.
Pricing: Build is $99 a month for 5,000 credits. Scale is $495 a month for 50,000 credits. Billed yearly saves 12% (Databar pricing, October 2026).
5. Hunter: best for work emails in Attio workflows
Hunter is an official Attio app built by Attio. Once connected, every workflow step uses the same Hunter connection. The steps are find email, verify email and domain search, filtered by type, seniority or department (Attio app store, October 2026).
It does email and only email. There are no phones and no job-title enrichment in the app. That narrow scope keeps it cheap and predictable. Hunter charges 1 credit per email found, 0.5 per verification and nothing when it finds nothing (Hunter help, September 2026).
Ten thousand email finds need 10,000 credits, which is the Growth plan at $149 a month ($104 billed yearly). At volume the Data Platform route is far cheaper: 1,000,000 Search credits cost $6,900 once, valid 12 months (Hunter Data Platform, September 2026).
Pros
- Official Attio app with find, verify and domain search steps.
- Credits charged only when an email is found.
- Cheapest published 1M price in this list apart from LeadOcean.
- Official remote MCP server on all plans (Hunter MCP, September 2026).
Cons
- Emails only.
- Data Platform is API and bulk only.
- A rate-limited call returns 403, not 429.
Best for: Outbound teams that only need a verified work email.
Pricing: Starter $49 a month ($34 billed yearly) for 2,000 credits. Growth $149 ($104) for 10,000. Scale $299 ($209) for 25,000 (Hunter pricing, September 2026).
6. FullEnrich: best for no-code waterfall emails and phones
FullEnrich queries 25+ sources in sequence and charges only for what it finds. Its integrations page lists HubSpot, Zapier, Make, n8n and Clay, and no Attio app (FullEnrich integrations, September 2026). To reach Attio you go through Zapier, Make, n8n or Clay, or call its API.
That extra hop is the trade. In return you get mobile numbers and a waterfall. A work email costs 1 credit, a personal email 3 and a mobile 10. A miss costs 0 (FullEnrich credits, September 2026).
Dedupe is yours to design. Have the connector upsert on the Attio email address, as in the LeadOcean recipe. API, MCP, search and bulk CSV are on every plan, including the free trial.
Pros
- Waterfall across 25+ sources.
- Pay only for found results.
- API and MCP on every plan.
Cons
- No Attio app.
- Mobile numbers cost 10 credits.
- 60 API calls a minute.
- No public 1M price.
Best for: Teams that need mobiles and will connect Attio through Zapier or n8n.
Pricing: From $29 a month for 500 credits ($26 billed yearly). 10,000 credits are $499 a month (FullEnrich pricing, September 2026).
7. Apollo: best for teams that prospect in Apollo

Apollo's Attio app is read-only. It lets an agent block inside an Attio workflow search Apollo's 230M+ contacts, read sequences and check credit use. Attio's app page says it cannot edit, send or delete anything in Apollo (Attio app store, October 2026). It does not write enriched fields into a record.
For record enrichment you use Apollo's API with your own upsert, or a Zapier or n8n step. Every Apollo plan includes API access. Enrichment endpoints allow 1,000 requests a minute on paid plans (Apollo rate limits, September 2026). Apollo also runs an official MCP server on any plan (Apollo docs, September 2026).
Cost is per seat, which is awkward for a pure data feed. An email costs 1 credit and a phone 8. Ten thousand email lookups need 4 Basic seats at $65, or $260 a month. One million need 250 Professional seats at $99, or $24,750 a month at list (Apollo pricing, September 2026).
Pros
- Large contact database with search and enrichment.
- API on every plan, MCP on every plan.
Cons
- Attio app is read-only.
- Per-seat pricing inflates cost at volume.
- A phone costs 8 credits.
- Credits expire at the end of each billing period.
Best for: Teams that already prospect and sequence in Apollo and sync to Attio themselves.
Pricing: Basic $65 a seat a month ($49 billed yearly) with 2,500 credits. Professional $99 ($79). Organization $149 ($119), minimum 3 seats (Apollo pricing, September 2026).
Comparison table

Prices are monthly list, with the yearly figure in the sections above. Vendor pages were checked in September and October 2026, and prices change.
How to choose
- Company basics, no work: keep Attio's native enrichment. It is automatic and has no per-record fee.
- Click-to-enrich inside Attio: Databar, or Hunter if you only need emails.
- A developer, a script or an agent: LeadOcean. One key does search and enrich, and Agency is $497 a month flat.
- RevOps who design the logic: Clay, if you accept two meters.
- Mobiles without code: FullEnrich through Zapier or n8n.
- Already on Apollo: use its API, not the read-only Attio app.
- Under 1,000 records, once: LeadOcean Free covers it with no card.
Verdict
For Attio basics, the native enrichment wins on effort: use it first, and expect it to leave email, phone and job title empty. For click-to-enrich with the best field mapping inside Attio, Databar is the cleanest app. For verified work emails alone, Hunter is cheap and official. For logic-heavy tables, Clay wins. For volume through an API or an agent, LeadOcean wins on price, at $97 on Solo and $497 on Agency, and you write the mapping yourself.
FAQ
What is the best enrichment tool for Attio?
It depends on who runs it. Attio's native enrichment is the default for company basics. For API volume and agents, LeadOcean. For in-app waterfalls, Databar. For logic-heavy tables, Clay.
Does Attio enrich contacts for free?
Yes, for the attributes it lists. Name, description, logo, category, social links and location are on Free. Employee count and ARR arrive on Plus, and funding raised on Pro (Attio help, October 2026). Work email and phone are not in that list.
How do I avoid duplicates when I enrich Attio records?
Upsert instead of create. Match People on email_addresses and Companies on domains, which are unique attributes (Attio docs, October 2026). The upsert updates the record when the value matches and creates one when it does not.
Will enrichment overwrite what my reps typed?
Not if you choose the fields. Attio's own enriched attributes cannot be overwritten. For writable ones like job_title, read the record first and send only fields that are empty. Databar offers a fill-empty write rule.
How much does it cost to enrich 10,000 Attio contacts?
At monthly list prices: Attio native, the plan fee. LeadOcean Solo, $97. Apollo, $260 on 4 Basic seats. Hunter, $149 on Growth. Clay, about $350 on our arithmetic. FullEnrich, $499. Databar publishes no per-lookup price.
Can an AI agent enrich Attio records?
Yes, through MCP. Attio has its own MCP server and LeadOcean has 13 tools, including a free count tool. Hunter and Apollo run MCP servers too. Keep the agent on approval for any action that spends credits or overwrites a field.
