Firmographic data is company-level data: industry, headcount, location, revenue band, technology and funding. Sales teams use it to decide which accounts to work, who to route them to and which to skip. Six providers are worth comparing, and they split into two kinds.
Some sell a rep workspace with data inside it. Others sell the data over an API and leave the workspace to you. The first kind is simpler for a team of reps. The second is cheaper once you pull records in volume.
We compared public pricing pages and docs only. We did not run a live accuracy test, so this page does not rank on match rates. It ranks on fit, limits and the cost of 1M records a month, the number most rankings skip. If you also want the API-first view, read our firmographic data provider ranking for developers. For the contact side, see best sales data providers.
TL;DR

| ZoomInfo | Enterprise teams that need intent data | Data credits from $20 | No public 1M price |
| LeadOcean | RevOps, agents and volume pulls | Free (1,000 records for life), then $97 a month | $497 a month (Agency) |
| Cognism | EMEA outbound and verified mobiles | No public price | No public 1M price |
| UpLead | Small teams buying a few hundred records | $99 a month ($74 billed yearly) | No public 1M price |
| Dealfront | Teams that start from website visitors | $113 a month ($79 billed yearly) | No public 1M price |
What we evaluated
- Cost at volume. What 1M records a month costs at list price. A rate multiplied out is not a price, so a tool without a published path says "No public 1M price".
- Fit for a sales team. Whether reps can work in the tool, or it only feeds another system.
- Filters and sizing. What you can segment on, and whether you can count a segment before you spend.
- API and agent access. Which plans include the API, the rate limit, and whether an official MCP server exists.
- Pricing clarity. Whether a RevOps lead can forecast a month from public pages alone.
1. Apollo: best for reps who want data and sequences in one seat

Apollo is a sales platform with a database behind it, and the rep workspace is the product. It states 240 million contacts and 30 million companies (Apollo pricing, September 2026). Reps search by company attributes, build lists and run sequences without leaving the tool.
Pricing is per seat. Basic is $65 a seat a month, Professional is $99 and Organization is $149 with a three-seat minimum, each with a monthly credit pool. Organization enrichment by API costs 1 credit, and credits expire at the end of each billing cycle (Apollo API pricing, September 2026). Extra credits have no public price.
Every plan includes API access, and paid plans allow 1,000 enrichment requests a minute (Apollo rate limits, September 2026). Apollo runs an official MCP server on every plan, Free included (Apollo MCP docs, September 2026). Volume is where it hurts: 1M credits means 250 Professional seats.
Pros
- Data, sequences and a rep workspace in one login.
- Free plan with API access and an official MCP server.
- Organization enrichment is 1 credit.
- 1,000 enrichment requests a minute on paid plans.
Cons
- Credits sit on seats, so volume means buying seats you do not need.
- Credits expire each cycle and do not roll over.
- Per-credit pricing for add-ons is not public.
- Free is limited to 75 credits a month.
Best for: Sales teams of 3 to 50 reps who want search, data and outreach in one product.
Pricing: Free, Basic $65, Professional $99 and Organization $149 a seat a month; billed yearly $49, $79 and $119 (Apollo pricing, September 2026). 1M credits is $24,750 a month on monthly billing (250 Professional seats), or about $19,600 a month on yearly billing.
2. ZoomInfo: best for enterprise teams that need intent data
ZoomInfo is the incumbent for enterprise account data, org charts and buying intent. It claims 100M+ companies and 500M+ contacts through its MCP server (ZoomInfo MCP docs, September 2026). That is the vendor's own number, so test your segment.
The self-serve route is GTM AI, which sells data credits pay as you go. One data credit enriches or exports one company, contact or intent record. Search and lookup are free, and a record is charged once per 12 months (GTM AI credit docs, September 2026).
Credits cost $0.45 at 100 credits and fall to $0.25 at 100,000 credits for $25,000 (GTM AI pricing, September 2026). The slider stops there, so 1M records has no public price. ZoomInfo platform plans (seats plus credits) are sold through sales, and we could not read their prices.
Pros
- Free search and lookup: you pay when you enrich.
- A free signup with 1,000 data credits, no card, with API and MCP access.
- Re-enriching a record inside 12 months costs no extra credit.
- Intent data next to firmographics.
Cons
- No public price above 100,000 credits.
- Batch enrichment takes 25 records per call.
- The Builder package allows 5 requests a second.
- Platform plan prices are not public on the pages we could read.
Best for: Enterprise sales teams that want intent data and one vendor of record.
Pricing: Data credits pay as you go from $20 (GTM AI pricing, September 2026). Rate limits by package are on the GTM AI rate limit page, September 2026.
3. LeadOcean: best for RevOps, agents and volume pulls
LeadOcean is a people and company database you call over REST, MCP or a CSV export. It holds 67M companies and 693M people, refreshed monthly, and each record carries its own fetched_at date. Company search has 34 filters, including 534 industries, 254 countries and 105 technology categories.
Sizing is free. GET /v1/companies/count takes the company-search filters and returns an exact total with breakdowns by industry, headcount band, HQ country, HQ state and NAICS. The MCP tool leadocean_count_companies does the same inside an agent. A RevOps lead can size a territory before anyone spends a record.
It ranks third for sales teams because it has no rep workspace. The app at app.leadocean.io has an Exports page: a filter builder, a column picker, the record price before you start and a CSV download. There are no sequences, dialer, CRM or Chrome extension. If your reps need those, pair it with the tool that has them, or pick Apollo.
Pros
- Free exact company counts by industry, headcount band, country, state and NAICS.
- A hosted MCP server with 13 tools, signed in over OAuth with no key pasted.
- A flat monthly price: Agency allows 25M search records a month and 1M enrichments a day.
- 200 requests a second on Agency, 10,000 on Platform.
Cons
- No rep workspace, so reps cannot sequence from it.
- Free people counts do not take revenue or funding filters. Those narrow the list at search time.
- 67M companies is fewer than ZoomInfo claims.
- Free is 1,000 records once, not a monthly allowance.
Best for: RevOps teams, sales engineers and agent builders who pull company data in volume and want to know the bill in advance.
Pricing: Free $0, Solo $97, Agency $497 and Platform $1,997 a month (LeadOcean pricing, October 2026). 1M company records a month fits inside Agency at $497.
4. Cognism: best for EMEA outbound and verified mobiles

Cognism is a sales prospecting platform known for phone-verified mobiles, with company filters behind it. It says it holds hundreds of millions of company and contact profiles and publishes no total (Cognism FAQ, September 2026). Its company search takes 21 filter fields, including industry, headcount, revenue, technology and NAICS (Cognism API reference, September 2026).
The pricing page lists Standard and Pro plans with 5 seats each and no dollar figures (Cognism pricing, September 2026). One credit reveals one contact. Company searches do not use credits (Cognism credit docs, September 2026).
The API allows 500 requests a minute per account (Cognism rate limits, September 2026). The official MCP server has 15 tools and signs in over OAuth (Cognism MCP docs, September 2026). API and MCP access need a package that includes them.
Pros
- Company search does not spend credits.
- Strong mobile data, with a claimed 10M+ phone-verified contacts.
- An official MCP server with 15 tools.
- A rep workspace as well as an API.
Cons
- No public dollar price for any plan or credit.
- No company count published.
- Docs disagree on whether a count call costs a search token.
- 500 requests a minute is low for volume work.
Best for: Outbound teams that sell into Europe and want verified mobile numbers next to firmographics.
Pricing: Quote only, no public dollar price (Cognism pricing, September 2026).
5. UpLead: best for small teams buying a few hundred records
UpLead is a self-serve prospecting tool with clear plans and a technology filter. It states 19M+ company profiles and 27K+ technologies tracked (UpLead data page, September 2026). It charges a credit only when a contact email comes back Valid or Accept All.
Essentials is $99 a month for 170 credits and Plus is $199 for 400. Extra credits cost $0.60 on Essentials and $0.50 on Plus (UpLead pricing, September 2026). Purchases are capped at $2,000 a day, which is why 1M records has no public path.
The API is the catch. Full API access is listed only on the custom-quote Professional plan, and the rate limit is 500 requests a minute (UpLead API docs, September 2026). We found no MCP server in its docs.
Pros
- Clear self-serve plans from $99 a month.
- A credit is charged only for a Valid or Accept All email.
- Unmatched enrichment rows are refunded.
- A technology filter across 27K+ technologies.
Cons
- API access needs a custom-quote Professional plan.
- 400 credits a month on the top public plan.
- No MCP server in the docs.
- A $2,000 daily cap on extra credit purchases.
Best for: Small sales teams that buy a few hundred qualified records a month through the web app.
Pricing: Essentials $99 and Plus $199 a month; billed yearly $74 and $149 (UpLead pricing, September 2026).
6. Dealfront: best for teams that start from website visitors
Dealfront trades as Leadfeeder. It starts from the companies visiting your site and adds firmographics and contacts around them. It lists 60M companies and 400M verified contacts on its own site (Dealfront, September 2026).
Discover is $113 a month billed monthly, or $79 billed yearly. Activate is $527 monthly or $369 yearly, and Scale is $599 on the annual grid. The plans are sized by identified companies and credits: Scale tops out at 10,000 companies and 5,500 credits a month (Dealfront pricing, September 2026).
API and MCP access are included on paid plans, not on Lite, and the MCP server is in beta. The API allows 10 requests a second per key and 100,000 requests a month per key (Dealfront rate limits, September 2026). Extra credits have no public price.
Pros
- Visitor identification and firmographics in one product.
- API and an MCP server on every paid plan.
- A free Lite plan with 20 credits a month.
- Credit unlocks last 12 months for the whole account.
Cons
- No public price per extra credit.
- Scale covers about 27,500 email-only contacts a month at its credit ceiling.
- Each API key stops at 100,000 requests a month.
- The MCP server is marked beta.
Best for: Marketing-led sales teams that turn anonymous site traffic into account lists.
Pricing: Discover $113 a month, $79 billed yearly; Activate $527, $369 billed yearly; Scale $599 on annual billing (Dealfront pricing, September 2026).

How to choose
- Your reps work in the tool all day. Pick Apollo, or Cognism if you sell into EMEA and need mobiles.
- You are an enterprise with intent needs. Pick ZoomInfo and expect a sales conversation above 100,000 credits.
- RevOps, an agent or a pipeline pulls the data. Pick LeadOcean. It has free counts, an official MCP server and a flat price.
- You buy a few hundred records a month. Pick UpLead on Essentials or Plus.
- Your leads start as anonymous site visitors. Pick Dealfront.
- You need both a rep tool and volume. Use Apollo or Cognism for reps and LeadOcean for the bulk pulls.
Verdict
Apollo wins for most sales teams because the workspace and the data are one seat, and the price is public. ZoomInfo wins when intent data and an enterprise vendor matter more than a forecastable bill. LeadOcean wins for RevOps, agent builders and anyone pulling volume, because it is the only one here with a published path to 1M records a month, $497 on Agency. Cognism wins on mobiles for EMEA outbound, UpLead on small self-serve buys and Dealfront on visitor-led prospecting. If you want to size your segment before you choose, count it free on LeadOcean.
FAQ
What is firmographic data for sales teams?
It is company-level data a team uses to pick and rank accounts: industry, headcount, location, revenue band, technology and funding. Reps filter on it to build target lists. RevOps uses it to score and route leads.
Which firmographic data provider is best for a small sales team?
Apollo has a free plan and public seat prices, so a small team can start without a contract. UpLead is the alternative if you want a fixed number of records each month on a card. LeadOcean fits if one person pulls the data and a free count helps size the market first.
What does 1M records a month cost?
LeadOcean publishes a path: $497 a month on Agency. Apollo is $24,750 a month at list price on monthly billing, which is 250 Professional seats. ZoomInfo, Cognism, UpLead and Dealfront publish no 1M price, so the answer is a quote.
Which of these providers have an MCP server for AI agents?
Apollo, ZoomInfo, LeadOcean (13 tools), Cognism (15 tools) and Dealfront (beta) have official MCP servers. We found none in UpLead's docs. MCP calls spend the same credits or records as the API.
Can I count a segment before I buy records?
On LeadOcean, yes: GET /v1/companies/count is free and returns an exact total with breakdowns. ZoomInfo's search is free through GTM AI, and Cognism company searches do not use credits. Check each vendor's docs for the call you plan to use.
How fresh is firmographic data?
It varies by vendor and by record. LeadOcean refreshes monthly and stamps each record with fetched_at. Ask any vendor for the date on the record you receive, and see our guide to enriching CRM data. Prices are on the LeadOcean pricing page.
