Firmographic data is company-level data: industry, headcount, location, revenue band, technology and funding. A firmographic data provider sells it as records you search, enrich or export. You need one if you segment accounts, score leads, size a market or feed company fields to an agent. Seven tools are worth comparing for API and volume buyers.
We scored them on the same five questions, all from public pricing pages and docs. We did not run a live accuracy test, so this page compares what each vendor publishes. Cost at 1M records is the number most pages skip.
LeadOcean ranks first for volume and agents. If you already use one of the others, see the People Data Labs, Crustdata, Coresignal, Apollo and ZoomInfo alternative pages. For a definition and field list, read what firmographic data is.

What we evaluated
- Cost at volume. What 1M company records a month costs at list price. A rate multiplied out is not a price, so tools without a published path say so.
- Firmographic depth. Company count, filters you can search on, and whether you can size a list before you pay.
- API shape. Enrichment and search endpoints, batch size, and the rate limit on a paid key.
- Agent access. An official, hosted MCP server and what it costs to call.
- Pricing clarity. Whether a developer can forecast a month from public pages alone.
1. LeadOcean: best for API, agent and volume pulls
LeadOcean is a people and company database you call over REST, MCP or a CSV export. It holds 67M companies and 693M people, refreshed monthly, and each record carries its own fetched_at date. Company search has 34 filters, including 534 industries, 254 countries and 105 technology categories.
Sizing is free. GET /v1/companies/count takes the company-search filters and returns an exact total with breakdowns by industry, headcount band, HQ country, HQ state and NAICS. The MCP tool leadocean_count_companies does the same inside an agent. Enrich a company with POST /v1/companies/enrich, search with /v1/companies/search, and pull the people at a domain with GET /v1/companies/{domain}/people.
The price is flat. The Free plan gives 1,000 records for life with no card, and paid plans are Solo at $97, Agency at $497 and Platform at $1,997 a month. There are no credits: each paid plan has a fair-use pace. Agency allows 25M search records a month and 1M enrichments a day, which covers 1M company records for $497 a month.
Pros
- Free exact company counts by industry, headcount band, country, state and NAICS.
- A hosted MCP server with 13 tools, signed in over OAuth with no key pasted.
- One flat monthly price instead of a credit meter. Every plan has the same data and features.
- 200 requests a second on Agency, 10,000 on Platform.
- Company and people data in one API, so you can go from an account to its contacts without a second vendor.
Cons
- 67M companies is fewer than the largest raw datasets listed below.
- It is a data API with an export app, not a sales suite. There is no sequencer, dialer, CRM or Chrome extension.
- Free is 1,000 records once, not a monthly allowance.
Best for: Developers, RevOps teams and agents that pull company data in volume and want to know the bill in advance.
Pricing: Free $0, Solo $97, Agency $497 and Platform $1,997 a month (LeadOcean pricing, October 2026). 1M company records a month fits inside Agency at $497.
2. CompanyEnrich: best for low-cost company-only enrichment
CompanyEnrich is a company-first API with 33M+ companies and 193M+ professional profiles (CompanyEnrich docs, September 2026). Company enrichment costs 1 credit. Company search costs 1 credit per company, and semantic search, which takes plain English, costs 2.
The plans are clear. Starter is $49 a month for 5,000 credits, Pro is $149 for 50,000 and Scale is $549 for 500,000. Rate limits scale with the plan: 60, 120 and 600 requests a minute. The async bulk job takes up to 10,000 domains, and search export jobs take up to 50,000 companies.
It also runs a hosted MCP server at https://mcp.companyenrich.com/mcp that takes your API key as a bearer token (CompanyEnrich MCP docs, October 2026). The catch is scale. Scale tops out at 500,000 credits, and extra credits have no published price.
Pros
- $49 a month entry, level with Coresignal Mini as the lowest paid price here.
- Every call has a stated credit cost, from 1 credit for company enrichment.
- Semantic search finds companies from a plain-English description.
- Credits roll over on Pro and Scale.
Cons
- 33M+ companies is about half the size of LeadOcean's company set.
- No public path to 1M records in a month. Extra credits are unpriced.
- Rate limits are per minute, 60 on Starter.
- Batch enrichment takes only 50 domains per request, and the async job is the route for volume.
Best for: Small teams and builders who enrich company lists below 500,000 records a month.
Pricing: Starter $49, Pro $149, Scale $549 a month (CompanyEnrich pricing, September 2026). Annual and extra-credit prices are not published.
3. People Data Labs: best for dataset licences and raw scale

People Data Labs (PDL) has the largest company set here, 76,606,079 company records (PDL company stats, September 2026). It is built for engineers: well-documented APIs, bulk enrichment and dataset licences.
Company data is sold on its own plan. Pro starts at $100 a month for 1,000 records. PDL advises Enterprise above 400,000 company profiles a year, so a 1M-record month is a sales conversation (PDL company pricing, September 2026).
Rate limits are tight on search. Company Search allows 10 requests a minute, and Company Enrichment allows 1,000 a minute on paid plans (PDL usage limits, September 2026). We found no official PDL MCP server in its docs index (PDL llms.txt, September 2026). Only community servers exist.
Pros
- The biggest company set on this list.
- Strong docs, SDKs and OpenAPI specs.
- Bulk enrichment and dataset files for warehouse loads.
- A request that finds nothing is not billed.
Cons
- Company Search is limited to 10 requests a minute.
- No official MCP server.
- Self-serve stops at small volumes, and 1M records has no public price.
- Person and company data are priced as separate products.
Best for: Data teams that license datasets into a warehouse and can negotiate an Enterprise contract.
Pricing: Company Pro from $100 a month for 1,000 records, billed yearly at $960 (PDL company pricing, September 2026).
4. Coresignal: best for company records plus job postings

Coresignal sells company, employee and job data on credits, and claims 70M+ company records and 482M+ job postings (Coresignal, September 2026). Company data is delivered daily. Job postings are the reason to pick it: few firmographic tools carry hiring data.
A Base or Clean company record costs 10 credits, and a Multi-source record costs 20. Plans run from Mini at $49 for 2,500 credits to Elite at $5,000 for 10,000,000 credits (Coresignal pricing, September 2026). By our arithmetic, one Elite month (10,000,000 credits) covers 1M Base company records at 10 credits each. The pricing page data flags Premium, Scale and Elite as contact-sales plans, so confirm Elite with Coresignal before you plan on it.
The MCP server has 5 tools and uses OAuth 2.1 (Coresignal MCP docs, September 2026). Rate limits rise with the plan, from 5 requests a second on Mini to 100 on Scale (Coresignal rate limits, September 2026).
Pros
- Job postings and company data in one vendor.
- Public prices up to a 10,000,000-credit plan.
- Hosted MCP server with OAuth.
- Bulk Collect takes up to 10,000 records per request.
Cons
- Credits make cost depend on which record type you pull.
- Mini and Starter are capped at 5 requests a second.
- Unused credits reset each cycle on most monthly plans.
- 1M records a month needs the $5,000 Elite plan, the top public tier.
Best for: Teams that join firmographics with hiring signals and can plan around credits.
Pricing: Mini $49 a month; Elite $5,000 a month, or $4,500 a month billed yearly (Coresignal pricing, September 2026).
5. Crustdata: best for live company data and change alerts

Crustdata pulls company data live and watches it for changes. Its Company entity watcher costs 5 credits per changed company at a 30-day SLA (Crustdata pricing docs, September 2026). That suits teams who want a trigger when a firmographic field moves, not only a snapshot.
Company enrichment costs 2 to 4 credits, and search costs 0.03 credits per result. The pricing page lists no plan names, no dollar prices and no price per credit (Crustdata pricing, September 2026). You find the dollar value in your dashboard.
Default rate limits are low: 15 requests a minute on company enrich and 30 on search (Crustdata rate limits, September 2026). There is a hosted MCP server with OAuth (Crustdata MCP docs, September 2026).
Pros
- Live data and entity watchers for company changes.
- Search at 0.03 credits per result is cheap to browse.
- Official hosted MCP server.
- Batch jobs take up to 10,000 identifiers.
Cons
- No public dollar price, so no forecast without sales.
- 15 requests a minute on company enrichment.
- Purchased credits expire after 12 months per the docs.
- A Crustdata blog post says 6 months, so the expiry is not settled.
Best for: Teams that need fresh company data and change alerts, and accept a quoted price.
Pricing: No public dollar price per credit (Crustdata pricing, September 2026).
6. Apollo: best for sales teams who want data and a workspace

Apollo is a sales platform with a large database behind it. It is the only tool here with sequences and a rep workspace built in. Organization enrichment by API costs 1 credit (Apollo API pricing, September 2026).
Plans are priced per seat, not per record. Basic is $65 a seat a month with 2,500 credits, Professional is $99 with 4,000 and Organization is $149 with 6,000, with a three-seat minimum. Every plan includes API access. Paid enrichment endpoints allow 1,000 requests a minute.
Apollo runs an official MCP server at mcp.apollo.io on every plan, including Free (Apollo MCP docs, September 2026). Credits are pooled across the team and do not roll over. That is why volume gets expensive.
Pros
- Data, outreach and workspace in one product.
- Free plan with API access and an official MCP server.
- Organization enrichment is 1 credit.
- 1,000 enrichment requests a minute on paid plans.
Cons
- Credits are per seat, so 1M records means hundreds of seats.
- Unused credits expire at the end of each cycle.
- Free is limited to 50 enrichment requests a minute and 600 a day.
- You pay for a sales suite you may not use.
Best for: Sales teams that want company data, contacts and sequencing in one seat.
Pricing: Free, Basic $65, Professional $99 and Organization $149 a seat a month; billed yearly $49, $79 and $119 (Apollo pricing, September 2026). 1M organization enrichments is 250 Professional seats, or $24,750 a month on monthly billing.
7. ZoomInfo: best for enterprise accounts and intent
ZoomInfo is the incumbent for enterprise account data and intent. Its developer route is GTM AI, which sells data credits pay as you go. One data credit enriches or exports one company, contact or intent record, and search and lookup are free (GTM AI credit docs, September 2026).
Credits start at $20 and cost $0.45 each at 100 credits, falling to $0.25 at 100,000 credits for $25,000 (GTM AI pricing, September 2026). Above 100,000 credits you go to sales. A record is charged once per 12 months.
The official MCP server needs a GTM AI account or a ZoomInfo subscription with data credits (GTM AI MCP docs, September 2026). Batch enrichment takes 25 records per call.
Pros
- Search and lookup are free, and you pay when you enrich.
- Free signup with 1,000 data credits and API and MCP access.
- Re-enriching a record inside 12 months costs no extra credit.
- Official MCP server.
Cons
- The public slider stops at 100,000 credits, and 1M has no public price.
- 5 requests a second on the Builder package.
- Batch enrichment is capped at 25 records.
- Per-record pricing climbs with volume compared with a flat plan.
Best for: Enterprise teams that need intent, org data and one vendor of record.
Pricing: Data credits pay as you go from $20 (GTM AI pricing, September 2026).

FAQ
What is a firmographic data provider?
A firmographic data provider sells company-level attributes: industry, headcount, location, revenue band, technology and funding. You get them as API records, search results or CSV exports. They are used to segment and score accounts.
Which firmographic data provider is cheapest at volume?
LeadOcean has the cheapest published path to 1M company records a month in this list, at $497 on Agency. Coresignal's Elite plan is $5,000 for the same volume of Base records, by our arithmetic. Apollo is $24,750 on monthly billing. The rest have no public 1M price.
How many companies do these providers cover?
People Data Labs lists 76,606,079 company records, Coresignal claims 70M+, LeadOcean has 67M and CompanyEnrich lists 33M+. Counts are measured differently, so test your own segment. LeadOcean counts any segment for free.
Do these providers have an MCP server for AI agents?
LeadOcean (13 tools), CompanyEnrich, Coresignal, Crustdata, Apollo and ZoomInfo have hosted MCP servers. People Data Labs has none in its docs index. MCP calls spend credits or records, so check the cost per tool before you connect an agent.
Can I size a company list before I pay?
On LeadOcean, yes. GET /v1/companies/count is free and returns an exact total with industry, headcount, country, state and NAICS breakdowns. ZoomInfo's search is also free. Check the others' docs before you assume the same.
How fresh is firmographic data?
It varies by vendor. LeadOcean refreshes monthly and stamps each record with fetched_at. Coresignal says company data is delivered daily. Crustdata offers live endpoints and watchers. Ask any vendor for the date on the record you receive.
