People leave Icypeas when an email finder stops being the whole job. Every lookup needs a first name or last name plus a domain or company (Icypeas API docs, September 2026). Results are asynchronous: you submit a search, then poll by id (Icypeas docs, September 2026). Bulk search takes 5,000 rows a call at one call a second, and single email search is capped at 10 calls a second (Icypeas docs, September 2026). Its phone finder is listed as "coming soon" (Icypeas pricing, September 2026). Hypergrowth at $499 a month holds 100,000 credits. That is cheap per email and a meter at volume.

This page ranks six alternatives for API and volume buyers. LeadOcean is first because it starts from a filter, answers in one call and has one flat price. For a two-column view, see LeadOcean vs Icypeas.

"1M records" here means 1M work-email lookups that return a result, one credit each where the vendor uses credits. Where a vendor sells that volume, the figure is its list price. Where it does not, the cell says so, and Enterprise quotes are not public.

What we evaluated

  • API access: which plan opens it, how a lookup returns its answer, and the default rate limit.
  • MCP: whether an agent can search and enrich through the server, or only read documentation.
  • Price model: flat, credits or seats, and what 1M records a month costs at list price.
  • Input and search: whether you must bring a name and domain, or can search by filter first.
  • Limits that bite: plan gates, caps per call, expiring credits and fair-use clauses.

We read each vendor's pricing page and docs in September 2026. We ran no find-rate or accuracy test for this page, so we quote no quality numbers.

1. LeadOcean: best for API, agent and volume buyers

LeadOcean is one dataset behind one REST API and one MCP server. It holds 693M people, 366M with an email and 166M with a phone number, plus 63M companies. You search with 50 people filters and 34 company filters. Counts are free. Enrichment is POST /v1/people/enrich, phones are GET /v2/people/phone, and exports run up to 50,000 rows per request.

The answer comes back in the same call. Send a LinkedIn URL or an email, and the response carries the profile and an email status. No job id, no polling. The price does not move with volume. Pro is $499 a month with unlimited searches, enrichments and lookups, 5 API keys and 100 requests per second per key. There are no credits and no overage invoice.

bash
curl -X POST "https://api.leadocean.io/v1/people/enrich" \
  -H "x-api-key: $LEADOCEAN_API_KEY" \
  -H "content-type: application/json" \
  -d '{"linkedin_url":"https://www.linkedin.com/in/jane-doe","reveal_email":true}'

The MCP server at https://api.leadocean.io/mcp signs in with OAuth 2.1 and exposes 12 tools, from search_leads to find_phone and export_leads. Claude, Cursor or your own agent can pull records directly. The app at app.leadocean.io has an Exports page with a filter builder, a column picker, a price preview and a CSV download (LeadOcean docs, September 2026).

Pros

  • Flat $499 a month at any volume, with no credit meter.
  • Search by filter first, then pull the people. Counts are free.
  • One synchronous call per record, and a miss on POST /v1/people/enrich is a free 404.
  • REST and MCP on every plan, including Free.
  • Email status on every record, from verified to spam_trap.

Cons

  • No name-plus-domain finder. If that is all you hold, search by company domain and title instead.
  • No table workflow builder, sequencer or Chrome extension. You work in the app's export page, the API or MCP.
  • One dataset, so a niche source needs another tool.

Best for: engineers, RevOps and agents that need volume and a fixed bill.

Pricing: Free is 1,000 records, one-off, no card. Pro is $499 a month, flat (LeadOcean pricing, September 2026).

2. LeadMagic: best for cheap valid emails and a hosted MCP

LeadMagic is a credit-based enrichment API for emails, mobiles and company data. It lists 400M+ people profiles and 25M+ companies, and reaches them through REST, CSV, a command-line tool and a hosted MCP server (LeadMagic, September 2026). Failed lookups cost nothing.

It is the closest step up from Icypeas in price model. A valid email costs 1 credit and a mobile costs 5. Essential is $99 a month for 5,000 credits, which is $0.0198 each. Ultimate is $849 for 100,000 credits, or $0.0085 (LeadMagic pricing, September 2026). Search is included and spends no credits on the plans we checked, with export capped by day.

The Email Finder endpoint allows 600 requests a minute, and LeadMagic states that a sustained find rate below 10% can lead to throttling (LeadMagic docs, September 2026). The hosted MCP server uses OAuth and lets an agent search, enrich and preview the cost of a large job (LeadMagic docs, September 2026).

Pros

  • Credits from $0.0085 on the top self-serve plan, and no charge for a failed lookup.
  • Search included, so you build a list before you spend credits.
  • Hosted MCP with OAuth and a cost preview before large operations.
  • REST on every plan.

Cons

  • The top self-serve plan is 100,000 credits, so 1M a month needs an Enterprise quote.
  • A minimum find-rate policy can throttle lists with poor match rates.
  • A smaller stated database: 400M+ people profiles and 25M+ companies.

Best for: teams that enrich a few hundred thousand valid emails a month and want low per-credit prices.

Pricing: Essential $99 a month for 5,000 credits. Ultimate $849 for 100,000 credits (LeadMagic pricing, September 2026).

3. Anymail Finder: best for pay-on-success emails in bulk

Anymail Finder is an email finder that verifies each address live and charges a credit only when it finds a valid one. It is the most Icypeas-shaped tool here: you send a name and a company, and you get an email (Anymail Finder, September 2026). It has no phone endpoint in its API docs (Anymail Finder docs, September 2026).

Plans run from 400 credits a month at $29 to 100,000 at $799, which is about $0.008 a credit. Credit packs need no subscription and stay valid for 12 months, and the one-time 1M pack is $4,990 ($0.005 a credit) (Anymail Finder pricing, September 2026). These are USD list prices from the pricing page USD view. The page shows Canadian dollars to visitors in Canada. A decision-maker search costs 2 credits, and repeat searches inside 30 days are free.

The bulk route takes up to 100,000 rows a job, with CSV, Excel or JSON and webhooks (Anymail Finder docs, September 2026). We found no stated rate limit in the docs we read. Anymail Finder lists an MCP server at api.anymailfinder.com/mcp for Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor (Anymail Finder, September 2026).

Pros

  • Pay only for a valid email. No charge for risky, blacklisted or not-found results.
  • Bulk jobs up to 100,000 rows, with webhooks.
  • Unlimited team members and no per-seat price.
  • Free repeat lookups for 30 days.

Cons

  • No filter search across a database and no phone endpoint. You bring the list first.
  • No company data beyond emails at a domain.
  • The largest monthly plan is 100,000 credits. Above that you buy the one-time 1M pack.

Best for: teams that hold a list of names and domains and want verified emails at a pay-per-result price.

Pricing: $29 a month for 400 credits up to $799 for 100,000, in USD list prices. Credit packs valid 12 months (Anymail Finder pricing, September 2026).

4. Prospeo: best for reps who want an extension

Prospeo is an email and mobile finder sold per user, with a Chrome extension, CRM sync and a REST API. One verified email costs 1 credit and one mobile costs 10 (Prospeo help center, September 2026). Search is part of the product, with 28 filters on Free and 41 on Pro.

Plans are priced per user. Free gives 100 credits a month. Starter is $49 per user a month for 2,000 credits, Growth is $99 and Pro is $249 for 15,000 (Prospeo pricing, September 2026). Credit add-ons start at 500 credits for $10 on monthly billing, and 1,000 credits cost $20 ($0.02 a credit) on the add-on slider. The lowest list rate is $0.009 a credit at 500,000 yearly credits, or $0.01 at 350,000 a month.

API access on Free is disputed. The pricing table shows no public API on Free. The help center lists limited access (50 requests a day), and the API docs say free API access for all users (Prospeo help center, September 2026). The Enrich API allows 5 requests a second on Starter and Growth and 30 on Pro, with daily caps by plan (Prospeo rate limits, September 2026). The hosted MCP server has 8 tools and signs in with OAuth 2.0 or an API key (Prospeo MCP docs, September 2026).

Pros

  • Search with up to 41 filters, in the app and the API.
  • Chrome extension, CRM sync and job-change tracking on higher plans.
  • No charge when a lookup finds nothing.
  • MCP server on every plan.

Cons

  • Seats plus credits. Volume means add-on maths and then a sales call.
  • Mobiles cost 10 credits each.
  • Low default API rates: 5 requests a second on Starter and Growth, with daily caps.

Best for: reps and small teams that want an extension, CRM sync and emails on demand.

Pricing: Free 100 credits a month. Starter $49, Growth $99, Pro $249 per user a month (Prospeo pricing, September 2026).

5. Findymail: best for verified emails with a bounce guarantee

Findymail is an email finder that verifies each address when you ask for it. It bills one credit per email found and 10 per phone number, and it charges nothing when no verified email turns up (Findymail docs, September 2026). It advertises a bounce guarantee on its pricing page.

Its pricing page blocks automated reading, so we print no Findymail price. Read plans and credit rates on Findymail's pricing page. The phone endpoint returns US numbers only (Findymail API docs, September 2026).

The API allows 300 concurrent requests. Findymail has an official MCP server with 14 tools, using browser sign-in or a bearer token (Findymail Cursor plugin, September 2026). It also has a Chrome extension and pushes contacts to Instantly, Smartlead, Lemlist and Woodpecker.

Pros

  • Verified on request, with a bounce guarantee advertised on its pricing page.
  • Official MCP server with 14 tools.
  • A standalone verifier and reverse-email lookup in the API.

Cons

  • Pricing is not readable by automated tools, so check it by hand.
  • Phones are US only and cost 10 credits each.
  • Lead search is a plain-language query, not structured filters.

Best for: outbound teams and agencies that want verified emails with an advertised guarantee.

Pricing: Not published here. See Findymail's pricing page.

6. Hunter: best for domain lookups with outreach attached

Hunter is an email finder with sequences attached. Its core calls take a domain, or a name plus a domain, and one credit buys one email found (Hunter pricing, September 2026). That makes it familiar to Icypeas users, with a wider toolbox around it: a Chrome extension, Discover search, signals and cold email sending.

Free gives 50 credits a month. Starter is $34 a month billed yearly for 2,000 credits a month. Scale is $209 a month billed yearly for 25,000 credits a month. More than that means Enterprise, a credit pack or the Data Platform. The Data Platform is API and bulk only and sells 1,000,000 Search credits for $6,900, bought once and valid 12 months (Hunter pricing, September 2026; Hunter Data Platform, September 2026). Verifying an email costs half a credit.

Rate limits are per endpoint. Email Finder and Domain Search allow 15 requests a second and 500 a minute (Hunter API docs, September 2026). The MCP server at mcp.hunter.io/mcp works with an API key or OAuth and spends your plan credits (Hunter MCP, September 2026).

Pros

  • REST API and MCP server on every plan, including Free.
  • Unlimited team members on every plan.
  • Sequences, extension and signals in one account.

Cons

  • The top all-in-one plan is 25,000 credits a month. More volume means the Data Platform.
  • Domain Search returns 10 results by default and 100 at most per call.
  • People search works inside one domain, not across a market by title and seniority.

Best for: teams that find emails by domain and send from the same tool.

Pricing: Free. Starter $34 a month billed yearly. Scale $209 a month billed yearly. 1,000,000 Search credits on Data Platform are $6,900 once, valid 12 months (Hunter pricing, September 2026).

Sources are linked in each tool section, all checked in September 2026. Vendors change plans often, so confirm on the pricing page before you buy. The 1M column is list-price arithmetic on email lookups. Findymail publishes no price we could read. Hunter uses its Data Platform price of $6,900 for 1,000,000 Search credits, bought once and valid 12 months. Anymail Finder uses its 1M credit pack in USD. Prospeo uses the cheapest public path, seats plus the largest monthly add-on, and LeadMagic publishes nothing above 100,000 credits.

How to choose

  • You pull data in code or with an agent, at volume: LeadOcean. One flat price, REST and MCP on every plan, 100 requests per second.
  • You want cheap credits and search in one account: LeadMagic, at $0.0085 a credit on Ultimate.
  • You hold names and domains and pay only on success: Anymail Finder, with bulk jobs of 100,000 rows.
  • Your reps live in a Chrome extension: Prospeo, and budget for seats.
  • You send cold email and want a bounce guarantee: Findymail, which advertises one on its pricing page.
  • You look up by domain and send from the same tool: Hunter.
  • Your list exists and you only need it checked: stay on Icypeas and use LeadOcean to find the people. Its verifier costs 0.1 credit a check (Icypeas pricing, September 2026).

Verdict

LeadOcean wins for API, agent and volume buyers. It has a flat price, a synchronous answer and an MCP server that returns records. LeadMagic is the runner-up if you want a credit price near Icypeas and a hosted MCP. Anymail Finder wins for pay-on-success emails from a list you already hold, Findymail for a bounce guarantee, Prospeo for reps with an extension and Hunter for domain lookups with outreach. Stay on Icypeas if your list exists and you buy a few thousand emails a month. Otherwise start on the free plan and compare the same lookups.

FAQ

Why do teams leave Icypeas?

Shape more than price. Icypeas needs a name and a domain, returns results asynchronously and caps bulk search at 5,000 rows a call (Icypeas docs, September 2026). Teams that want to search by filter or call one synchronous endpoint move to a database API.

What is the cheapest Icypeas alternative at volume?

At 1M records a month, LeadOcean at $499 flat is cheapest on list price. Anymail Finder is next at $4,990 for a one-time pack. Hunter is $6,900 once for 1M Search credits, valid 12 months. Findymail publishes no price we could read. Prospeo is $14,456 a month on the cheapest public path, and LeadMagic has no public price at that volume. Enterprise quotes may narrow the gap.

What does Icypeas cost at 1M records a month?

Icypeas lists a 1M tier: $3,992 a month ($0.003992 a credit), or $3,326.67 a month billed yearly ($39,920 for 12M credits) (Icypeas pricing, September 2026). That is under ten Hypergrowth steps at $4,990. Tiers run up to 10M credits a month at $34,930.

Which Icypeas alternative has an MCP server that returns data?

LeadOcean, LeadMagic, Prospeo, Findymail and Hunter all list one that searches or enriches. Anymail Finder lists one too. Icypeas itself lists MCP on every plan (Icypeas pricing, September 2026), so compare the tools each one exposes before you choose.

Can I keep Icypeas and use another data source?

Yes. Find the people with LeadOcean, keep the rows whose email_status is verified or catch_all_valid, and send catch-all rows to Icypeas for a check. Icypeas says it validates Google and Microsoft catch-all domains (Icypeas, September 2026).

Do I need a credit card to try LeadOcean?

No. The free plan needs a work email and no card. It gives you 1,000 records, one-off, with the same API and MCP server as Pro. See pricing.
