At the launch-offer prices, BlitzAPI wins on price once you pass about 100,000 emails a month. Icypeas wins below that, and when you hold a name and a domain instead of a LinkedIn URL. The two tools bill in opposite ways, so the right pick follows your volume and your input.
All figures were checked in September 2026, each with its source link. Where a vendor publishes nothing, the page says so.
Verdict
- Pick BlitzAPI if you have LinkedIn URLs, or need to search a database first, and your volume is high. Plus is $499 a month for verified work emails with no per-email charge, for accounts opened by September 30, 2026 (BlitzAPI pricing, September 2026). It also has US phones and job postings.
- Pick Icypeas if you already hold names and company domains and want a low entry price. Basic is $19 a month for 1,000 credits, and credits roll over (Icypeas pricing, September 2026). Its MCP server also does real work for an agent.
- Pick neither if you want one flat plan with emails and phones, a CSV export and an MCP server that returns records. LeadOcean covers that.

Data and coverage
The two datasets are close in size, so size will not decide this. BlitzAPI lists 550M+ profiles, 65M+ companies and 65M+ verified work emails (BlitzAPI docs, September 2026). Icypeas quotes 575M business professionals and 62M company profiles (Icypeas features, September 2026).
Email counts are not comparable. Icypeas quotes 1.8B emails, which counts addresses, not people. BlitzAPI quotes 65M+ verified emails and says it re-tests them against mail servers at least every 30 days. It would rather return not found than a risky address (BlitzAPI docs, September 2026).
Icypeas handles quality differently. Its verifier costs 0.1 credit a check, and it says it validates catch-all addresses (Icypeas pricing, September 2026). If you hold a list and only need it cleaned, that is a real strength.
Phones split the two. BlitzAPI has 45M+ US numbers on the $599 Full plan and nothing outside the US. Icypeas quotes 280M phone numbers, but its credit table lists Phone Finder as coming soon (Icypeas docs, September 2026). Test it before you plan a phone campaign around that figure.
BlitzAPI also lists 100M+ job postings. Icypeas has no job data.
API and developer experience
The input is the real difference. BlitzAPI's email lookup takes a LinkedIn URL only, so you usually search first and then enrich. Icypeas takes a first name, a last name and a domain, so you must know who you want (Icypeas docs, September 2026).
This is BlitzAPI's work email request from its docs, with a placeholder profile.
curl -X POST "https://api.blitz-api.ai/v2/enrichment/email" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-H "x-api-key: $BLITZAPI_API_KEY" \
-d '{"person_linkedin_url":"https://www.linkedin.com/in/jane-doe"}'It answers in one call with found, the email and a fair_usage block showing your remaining volume (BlitzAPI docs, September 2026). A lookup that finds nothing counts nothing.
This is Icypeas's single email search from its docs, with placeholders.
curl -X POST "https://app.icypeas.com/api/email-search" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-H "Authorization: $ICYPEAS_API_KEY" \
-d '{"firstname":"Jane","lastname":"Doe","domainOrCompany":"acme.com"}'It returns an _id, not the email. You wait a few seconds, then read the result by id from a second route. The search is done when the status reads DEBITED (Icypeas docs, September 2026). The docs tell you to use bulk search for many lookups instead.
Rate limits favor BlitzAPI on paper. It runs 50 requests per second per endpoint for accounts opened by September 30, and the standard rate is 5 (BlitzAPI pricing, September 2026). Icypeas allows 10 calls a second on email search and one bulk call a second, up to 5,000 rows each. Icypeas says limits can change at any time.
For agents, Icypeas is the only one of the two with a working MCP server. It is hosted, has 21 tools and signs in with your API key. BlitzAPI's MCP server answers questions about its docs and returns no records (BlitzAPI docs, September 2026).
Pricing
BlitzAPI charges a flat monthly fee and Icypeas charges per found email. Prices below show the monthly list first, with the billed-yearly figure after it where one exists. Both examples assume every lookup finds an email, which is the worst case for Icypeas.
At 10,000 records a month. Icypeas Advanced is $89 a month for 10,000 credits. Billed yearly, 120,000 credits cost $890, which is $890 / 12 = $74.17 a month (Icypeas pricing, September 2026). A 70% find rate uses only 7,000 credits, because a miss is free.
BlitzAPI at 10,000 is Plus at $499 a month for verified work emails. No billed-yearly figure is published (BlitzAPI pricing, September 2026). So Icypeas is $499 - $89 = $410 a month cheaper at this size.
The crossover. Icypeas Hypergrowth is $499 for 100,000 credits, so the two cost the same at 100,000 found emails. At 50,000 credits Icypeas is $445. At 200,000 it is $998, double BlitzAPI Plus. Above 100,000 emails a month, BlitzAPI is cheaper at list.
At 1M records a month. BlitzAPI is still $499 at list. 1,000,000 results is under the 15,000,000 results a month fair use line, so one Plus plan covers it: $499 x 1 month = $499. A search result counts too, so 1M searched people plus 1M emails is 2M results, still inside the line (BlitzAPI pricing, September 2026).
Time is the other cost. 1,000,000 / 50 per second is 20,000 seconds, about 5.6 hours. At 5 per second it is 200,000 seconds, about 2.3 days.
Icypeas lists a 1,000,000-credit tier at $3,992 a month, which is $0.003992 a credit (Icypeas pricing, September 2026). That is $3,992 - $499 = $3,493 a month more than BlitzAPI, about 8 times the price. Billed yearly, 12M credits cost $39,920, which is $3,326.67 a month for 1M credits. Prices are plus VAT.
Submitting 1M lookups through bulk search takes 200 calls of 5,000 rows, at one call a second. The single-lookup route at 10 a second would take about 27.8 hours, and the docs advise against it.
One caution on BlitzAPI. The $399, $499 and $599 prices, 50 requests per second and the 15,000,000 line apply to accounts opened by September 30, 2026 (BlitzAPI Terms, September 2026). Plan prices for later accounts are not published, and the standard rate is 5 requests per second. Check the pricing page on the day you sign up.
Where BlitzAPI wins
- Price at volume. One $499 plan covers 1M emails a month at list. Icypeas charges $3,992 for the same 1M credits.
- Search. It finds people and companies you did not already hold, and it has 100M+ job postings.
- US phones. 45M+ numbers on the Full plan, a phone lookup that exists today.
- One call per answer. No polling for a result.
BlitzAPI's weak points are US-only phones and no documented bulk export. Core, Plus and Full carry no SLA (BlitzAPI docs, September 2026). Its MCP server reads docs only.
Where Icypeas wins
- Low volume. Under about 100,000 emails a month it costs less, and Basic starts at $19.
- Name plus domain input. You do not need a LinkedIn URL for each person.
- Rollover. Unused credits never expire, even after a downgrade or cancellation (Icypeas pricing, September 2026).
- Verification and MCP. A 0.1 credit verifier, and a hosted MCP server with 21 tools.
Icypeas's weak points are a credit meter that climbs with every email and polling instead of a direct answer. Its rate limits are lower and can change at any time.
If you need volume through an API
LeadOcean is a third option if neither fits. Free gives you 1,000 records, one-off, with no card. Pro is $499 a month, flat, with unlimited searches, enrichments and lookups, and no credits or per-record price (LeadOcean pricing, September 2026).
It holds 693M people, 366M with an email and 166M with a phone number, plus 63M companies. The same REST API and a hosted MCP server with 12 tools run on every plan (LeadOcean MCP docs, September 2026). The MCP server searches, enriches and exports records.
For bulk pulls, POST /v1/exports returns up to 50,000 rows per request. The app has an Exports page with a filter builder and CSV download (LeadOcean exports docs, September 2026). 1M rows is 20 requests over two days. LeadOcean returns a stored email status on each record. Keep Icypeas if cleaning a list you already hold is the whole job. See pricing for the detail.
FAQ
Is BlitzAPI cheaper than Icypeas?
Above about 100,000 emails a month, yes, at the launch-offer prices. Plus is $499 a month, and the Icypeas $499 plan buys 100,000 credits (Icypeas pricing, September 2026). Below that Icypeas is cheaper. At 10,000 emails it is $89 against $499.
Does either tool have an MCP server?
Both do, and they differ. Icypeas has a hosted server at https://mcp.icypeas.com/mcp with 21 tools (Icypeas MCP guide, September 2026). BlitzAPI's server only gives an AI tool access to its documentation.
Can either tool find phone numbers?
Only BlitzAPI has a phone lookup today. It lists 45M+ US numbers on the $599 Full plan, and phone enrichment is US only (BlitzAPI docs, September 2026). Icypeas lists Phone Finder as coming soon.
Which one needs a LinkedIn URL?
BlitzAPI's email lookup does (BlitzAPI docs, September 2026). Icypeas takes a first name, a last name and a company domain or name instead.
Does Icypeas charge for emails it cannot find?
No. Email search costs 1 credit per found email, so a search that finds nothing costs nothing (Icypeas docs, September 2026). BlitzAPI likewise counts nothing for a lookup that finds nothing.
What happens to BlitzAPI pricing after September 30, 2026?
The lifetime offer closes to new accounts. BlitzAPI has not published plan prices for later accounts, and the standard limit is 5 requests per second (BlitzAPI Terms, September 2026). Check the pricing page on the day you sign up.
