Clearbit (Breeze Intelligence) and Icypeas both fill in B2B contact data, but you buy them in different ways. Clearbit is data enrichment inside HubSpot, with no price of its own. Icypeas is a standalone email finder that sells credits, with a public API and a published price at 1M.

Verdict

  • Pick Clearbit (Breeze Intelligence) if your contacts and companies already live in HubSpot and you want them filled in without code. Enrichment rides on the plan you already pay for (HubSpot docs, September 2026).
  • Pick Icypeas if you know the name and the company and need the work email by API, on a plan you can read before you sign up. Advanced is $89 a month for 10,000 credits, and 1M credits cost $3,992 a month (Icypeas pricing, September 2026).
  • Pick neither if you need to build the list first, with title, seniority, industry and country filters across a whole market, on a flat bill. LeadOcean searches 693M people for a flat $499 a month.

Data and coverage

Icypeas publishes sizes and Clearbit does not. Icypeas quotes 575M business professionals, 62M company profiles, 1.8B emails and 280M phone numbers (Icypeas features, September 2026). Clearbit's homepage gives no people, company or phone count (Clearbit, September 2026).

The email figure counts addresses, not people, so it does not tell you how many of your contacts Icypeas will find. The vendor does not publish a find rate.

What Clearbit does publish is depth on the company side. The homepage lists 6-digit NAICS, GICS and SIC industry codes, parent and subsidiary mapping, and normalized role and seniority. It also lists form shortening and reverse-IP visitor identification (Clearbit, September 2026). That is firmographics and routing data, not a list of people to contact.

The input rules differ. HubSpot enriches a contact from a business email and a company from a domain, and Gmail or Yahoo addresses are not enriched. The contact properties it fills are name, job title, role, seniority, location and a LinkedIn URL, not an email or a phone (HubSpot docs, September 2026).

Icypeas goes the other way. It finds the email. Email Finder takes a first name, a last name and a domain or company, and a search that finds nothing costs no credit. It also offers a verifier at 0.1 credit, catch-all checks, and Find People with 10+ filters (Icypeas pricing and credit costs, September 2026).

Phones are thin on both sides. Icypeas lists Phone Finder as coming soon (Icypeas credit costs, September 2026). HubSpot's contact enrichment lists no phone property. If phones matter, check the other tool you plan to pair with either of these.

API and developer experience

Icypeas has a public API you can test today, and Clearbit's sits behind a login. You can read the Icypeas reference and run a request with your own key. Clearbit's documentation redirects to a sign-in page (Clearbit docs, September 2026).

Icypeas Email Finder, from its getting started guide:

bash
curl -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
     -H "Authorization: $ICYPEAS_API_KEY" \
     https://app.icypeas.com/api/email-search \
     -d '{"firstname":"Jane","lastname":"Doe","domainOrCompany":"acme.com"}'

The call returns an _id, not the email. You wait a few seconds, then read the result with a second request to /api/bulk-single-searchs/read (Icypeas API docs, September 2026). A webhook can replace the polling.

Clearbit, no public request. We cannot show one because the docs need a sign-in.

Sign-ups since December 2023 need a HubSpot account (Clearbit release notes, September 2026). Clearbit does not publish whether a new customer can get the API outside HubSpot. Inside HubSpot, enrichment is a settings switch. A Super Admin turns on automatic enrichment, and it is off by default.

Rate limits differ in kind. Icypeas documents them per endpoint. Email search, email verification and domain search allow 10 calls a second. Find People and Find Companies allow 30, and bulk search allows 1. Icypeas says limits can change at any time (Icypeas rate limits, September 2026). Clearbit publishes none.

On MCP, Icypeas runs a hosted server at mcp.icypeas.com/mcp. You sign in with your API key, it exposes 21 tools, and it is on every plan (Icypeas MCP guide, September 2026). We found no MCP server for Clearbit enrichment. HubSpot's own MCP server covers CRM records such as contacts and deals (HubSpot MCP docs, October 2026).

Pricing

Icypeas has a price at every size, and Clearbit has a plan fee and no per-record price. Icypeas spends one credit per found email and nothing for a miss. The examples assume every lookup finds an email. A lower find rate lowers the bill.

10,000 records a month

  • Icypeas: 10,000 records x 1 credit = 10,000 credits. Advanced covers exactly that for $89 a month, or $890 a year ($74.17 a month) for 120,000 credits. Prices are plus VAT (Icypeas pricing, September 2026).
  • Clearbit (Breeze Intelligence): no per-record rate to multiply. The cost is the HubSpot plan. A Starter seat is $10 a month, or $7 billed yearly, on a new-customer offer (HubSpot Starter, October 2026). Enrichment itself uses no HubSpot Credits.

1M records a month

  • Icypeas: 1,000,000 records x 1 credit = 1,000,000 credits. The published 1,000,000-credit monthly tier is $3,992, which is $0.003992 a credit. Billed yearly, 12M credits cost $39,920, or $3,326.67 a month. Plus VAT (Icypeas pricing, September 2026).
  • Clearbit (Breeze Intelligence): No public 1M price. HubSpot publishes no per-record rate and no monthly enrichment cap. At 100 records an index page, 1,000,000 is 10,000 batches, so it is a workflow or import job (HubSpot docs, September 2026).

Do not buy ten Hypergrowth steps. Ten 100,000-credit steps cost $4,990, more than the $3,992 tier. The same pricing page lists 200,000 credits at $998, 500,000 at $2,245.50 and 10,000,000 at $34,930 a month.

The HubSpot plan is the real Clearbit cost. If you already pay for it, enrichment adds nothing per record. If you do not, you are buying a CRM to get a data feed.

Where Clearbit (Breeze Intelligence) wins

  • Enrichment where your records live. Automatic enrichment fills new HubSpot contacts and companies with no code (HubSpot docs, September 2026). Icypeas connects through Make, Zapier or n8n, and you manage the calls.
  • Standardized company data. NAICS, GICS and SIC codes, parent and subsidiary mapping, and normalized role and seniority (Clearbit, September 2026). The Icypeas pages we read list no industry hierarchy.
  • Visitor identification. Clearbit's homepage advertises IP intelligence that turns anonymous web traffic into company signals. The Icypeas pages we read list none.
  • Low cost for an existing HubSpot team. If the plan is already paid for, there is no per-email charge.

Where Icypeas wins

  • A public API and MCP server. You can read the docs, get a key and run a request in a minute. MCP is on every plan.
  • A published price at 1M. $3,992 a month is a number you can plan around. Clearbit gives you a CRM plan and no volume ceiling.
  • No CRM required. Icypeas works on its own. You do not need to open a HubSpot account to get a work email.
  • Pay only for hits. A search that finds no email costs nothing, and credits roll over with no expiry (Icypeas pricing, September 2026).

If you need volume through an API

LeadOcean fits when the job is building a list, not filling one in. It holds 693M people, 366M with an email and 166M with a phone number, plus 63M companies, behind REST and a 12-tool MCP server. Pro is $499 a month flat with no credits, and Free gives 1,000 records one-off with no card.

POST /v1/exports returns up to 50,000 rows per request, and the rate limit is 100 requests per second per key. You can also run exports from the app. LeadOcean does not credit back bounced emails, so read email_status before you send. It has no CRM, sequencer or extension. FAQ

Is Clearbit (Breeze Intelligence) or Icypeas cheaper?

It depends on volume and on whether you run HubSpot. At 10,000 records, Icypeas Advanced is $89 a month and Clearbit rides on a HubSpot Starter seat from $10 a month ($7 billed yearly). At 1M, Icypeas lists $3,992 a month and Clearbit has no public price (list prices linked above).

Which has more data?

Icypeas quotes 575M business professionals and 62M company profiles. Clearbit publishes no count. Neither number says how many of your contacts each tool will fill in.

Does either tool return phone numbers?

Icypeas quotes 280M phone numbers but lists Phone Finder as coming soon. HubSpot's contact enrichment docs list no phone property. For phones at volume, look at a database built for it.

Do Clearbit and Icypeas have an MCP server?

Icypeas does, at mcp.icypeas.com/mcp, on every plan. We found none for Clearbit enrichment. HubSpot's MCP server covers CRM records, not data enrichment.

Is Clearbit still a separate product?

Partly. Clearbit's site says it has joined HubSpot, and new sign-ups need a HubSpot account (Clearbit release notes, September 2026). HubSpot's docs call the feature data enrichment.

What are the rate limits?

Icypeas allows 10 calls a second on email search and 1 a second on bulk search, and says limits can change. Clearbit publishes no limit on its public pages.
