7 Best AI Tools for Sales Prospecting in 2026

Seven tools compared on price, API, MCP and the cost of 1M records a month. Where a vendor publishes no 1M price, we say so.

Get your free API key →Free to start. No credit card. 1,000 records to spend whenever you like.

An AI sales prospecting tool finds the right accounts and contacts, gets a verified email or phone number, and often drafts the first message. Sales reps, founders and RevOps teams need one. So do engineers who feed an agent or a pipeline.

Most teams leave a tool for the same two reasons: seat pricing and credit meters. Apollo charges per seat and its credits expire each cycle (Apollo pricing, September 2026). Clay bills Actions and Data Credits that you size in advance (Clay pricing, September 2026). Lusha and FullEnrich sell credits that run out.

We read the pricing pages and API docs of seven tools in September 2026 and priced 1M work-email lookups on each. We did not run an accuracy test. If a vendor prints no price at that volume, the table says so. See our alternatives pages for Apollo, Clay, ZoomInfo, FullEnrich, Lusha and Seamless.AI.

What we evaluated

  • Price at volume. The monthly list price for 1M work-email lookups. We never multiply a small-tier rate out to 1M.
  • API and rate limit. Whether the API is on every plan, and how many requests a key may send.
  • MCP. Whether there is a hosted MCP server an AI agent can call, and which plans include it.
  • Data model. One owned database, a waterfall over partners, or a workflow layer on top of other data.
  • Rep workspace. Whether reps get sequences, a dialer or a browser extension, or only data.

1. Apollo: best for reps who want one app

apollo homepage

Apollo is the default pick for a sales team that wants a contact database, sequences and a dialer in one seat. It lists 240 million contacts and 30 million companies (Apollo pricing, September 2026). A rep can search, enrich and send from one screen.

The cost model is per seat plus a credit allowance. An email costs 1 credit. A phone number costs 8 credits (Apollo API pricing, September 2026). Credits are pooled across the team and expire each cycle.

Apollo has an official MCP server at mcp.apollo.io/mcp. Any plan can use it, Free included (Apollo MCP, September 2026). Enrichment endpoints allow 1,000 requests a minute on paid plans (Apollo rate limits, September 2026).

Pros

  • Data, sequences and dialer in one app.
  • API and MCP on every plan, including Free.
  • Enrichment endpoints reach 1,000 requests a minute on paid plans.
  • A real free plan to test the workflow.

Cons

  • Seat pricing makes a pipeline that no rep opens expensive.
  • Credits expire at the end of each cycle, including purchased add-ons.
  • Apollo prints no price for extra credits.
  • At 1M emails a month the list price needs about 250 Professional seats.

Best for: Sales teams that live in one tool all day.

Pricing: Free; Basic $65 per seat a month, $49 billed yearly; Professional $99, $79 yearly; Organization $149, $119 yearly, minimum 3 seats (Apollo pricing, September 2026). 1M work emails is 1M credits: 250 Professional seats at $99 is $24,750 a month. Apollo does not say whether self-serve allows that many seats.

2. Clay: best for RevOps teams building workflows

clay homepage

Clay is a spreadsheet that runs enrichment workflows over many data providers. It owns no database of its own. It pulls from 150+ partners and charges Actions plus Data Credits (Clay pricing, September 2026).

Clay's own doc says a fully enriched record typically costs 6 to 20 Data Credits, plus one Action per enrichment (Clay docs, September 2026). An enrichment that finds nothing costs nothing. Claygent, its AI research column, is on every plan, Free included.

The developer API is on every plan, and search volume is capped by plan (Clay API docs, September 2026). Clay also has an MCP server (Clay MCP guide, September 2026).

Pros

  • Waterfalls across many providers in one table.
  • Claygent runs web research per row.
  • A Free plan with 100 Data Credits a month.
  • Conditional runs skip rows already filled.

Cons

  • Credit cost per record varies by provider and is hard to forecast.
  • The highest self-serve tier is 200,000 Actions and 50,000 Data Credits a month.
  • The HTTP API column needs Growth.
  • Clay publishes no number for its Public API rate limit.

Best for: RevOps and growth teams that want a table-first workflow.

Pricing: Free; Launch $185 a month, $167 billed yearly; Growth $495 a month, $446 billed yearly (Clay pricing, September 2026). No public price at 1M: no self-serve tier reaches 1M lookups a month.

3. LeadOcean: best for engineers, agents and volume

LeadOcean is the data layer only: 693M people and 67M companies behind one REST API and a hosted MCP server. It has no sequencer, dialer or Chrome extension. Pick it when code or an agent pulls the data.

Every plan has the same data and every feature. The price buys speed and pace, not access. People search has 50 filters and company search has 34. Each record carries an email status with 13 values, and 366M people have an email and 166M a phone number. The dataset refreshes monthly.

Billing is flat. Free gives 1,000 records for life and 5 requests a second. Solo is $97 a month. Agency is $497 a month with 200 requests a second and 5 keys. There are no credits. Paid plans have a fair-use pace, and reaching it slows the key instead of stopping it (LeadOcean pricing).

The MCP server at api.leadocean.io/mcp has 13 tools and OAuth 2.1 sign-in (LeadOcean MCP docs). Two of them size a list for free: leadocean_count_leads for people and leadocean_count_companies for companies. Enrichment is POST /v1/people/enrich, phones are GET /v2/people/phone, and one search pages to 10,000 rows.

Pros

  • Flat $497 a month at 1M records, with no per-record price.
  • Counts and filter lookups cost nothing.
  • 13 MCP tools on every plan.
  • Bulk CSV export from Solo, and an Exports page in the app.

Cons

  • No rep workspace, sequencer, dialer, CRM or Chrome extension.
  • A sales team with no engineer will want a UI.
  • No Claygent-style research column. You bring your own model through MCP.
  • Bulk CSV export is not on Free.

Best for: Developers, agents and data teams that pull records at volume.

Pricing: Free $0 for 1,000 records, no card; Solo $97 a month; Agency $497 a month; Platform $1,997 a month to embed and resell (LeadOcean pricing, October 2026). 1M records a month fits Agency at $497. Start on the pricing page.

4. ZoomInfo GTM AI: best for pay-as-you-go credits

ZoomInfo GTM AI is the API and MCP side of ZoomInfo, sold on pay-as-you-go credits with no contract and no seat fee. A new account gets 1,000 data credits and 1,000 AI credits free, no card (GTM AI pricing, September 2026).

Search and lookup are free. One data credit enriches or exports one company, contact or intent record, and a record is charged once per 12 months (GTM AI docs, September 2026). Credits do not expire while the account is active.

ZoomInfo claims 100M+ companies and 500M+ contacts for its MCP server. It needs a GTM AI account or an existing ZoomInfo subscription with data credits (GTM AI MCP docs, September 2026).

Pros

  • No contract, no seats, credits that do not expire.
  • Free search and lookup.
  • A record re-enriched inside 12 months costs no extra credit.
  • Free tier includes API and MCP.

Cons

  • List price per credit is $0.45 at the base tier and $0.25 at 100,000 credits.
  • The credit slider stops at 100,000 credits. Larger volumes go to Enterprise.
  • The Free tier allows 5 requests a second and audiences of 5 x 500 rows.
  • Batch enrichment takes at most 25 records per call.

Best for: Teams that want ZoomInfo data without a platform contract.

Pricing: Credits from $20, at $0.45 each down to $0.25 at 100,000 credits ($25,000) (GTM AI pricing, September 2026). No public 1M price: the slider stops at 100,000, and $0.38 is only the 2,500 to 10,000 tier.

5. FullEnrich: best for waterfall email and mobile

FullEnrich asks 25+ data sources for each email and mobile, and bills only for what it finds. It lists 800M people and 50M companies in search (FullEnrich pricing, September 2026). It states about an 80 percent find rate on work emails, which is its own claim.

A work email costs 1 credit, a personal email 3 and a mobile 10. A record that is not found, or a landline, costs 0 (FullEnrich credit docs, September 2026). The API, MCP, search and bulk CSV are on every plan, including the free trial.

The limit is 60 API calls a minute across Enrich, Reverse Email and Search, with up to 100 contacts per bulk request (FullEnrich volume docs, September 2026).

Pros

  • Pay only for found data.
  • API, MCP and bulk CSV on every plan.
  • Unused credits roll over 3 months monthly and 12 months yearly.
  • Unlimited users.

Cons

  • 60 calls a minute is slow for million-row jobs.
  • Mobile numbers cost 10 credits.
  • The top public monthly tier is 100,000 credits at $3,500.
  • It is an enrichment tool, not a rep workspace.

Best for: Teams that need mobile numbers on a few thousand contacts.

Pricing: Free trial with 50 credits; Pro from $29 a month for 500 credits, $26 billed yearly (FullEnrich pricing, September 2026). No public 1M price: 100,000 credits is $3,500 a month, and above that you contact sales.

6. Lusha: best for reps in a browser extension

lusha homepage

Lusha is a contact and company data platform with a Chrome extension, a REST API and an MCP server. Our Lusha alternatives page covers the extension in more detail.

An email costs 1 credit and a phone number 5. One contact with both costs up to 7 credits through a single API request (Lusha API guide, September 2026). Lusha's own docs disagree on whether a no-match request is charged, so confirm that before you budget for misses.

Every plan gets an API key. The MCP server has 50 tools and shares the REST credit pool (Lusha MCP tools, September 2026). Premium allows 300 requests a minute per key.

Pros

  • A Chrome extension for reps.
  • API key on every plan, including Free.
  • Waterfall for emails and phones on all paid plans.
  • Clear credit costs: 1 per email, 5 per phone.

Cons

  • Credits run out and are priced per step.
  • Premium tops out at 10,000 credits a month on the public ladder.
  • The Free plan is 40 credits a month.
  • Scale pricing is custom, with no per-credit figure published.

Best for: Sales reps who prospect from LinkedIn.

Pricing: Free; Starter $49.90 a month, $37.45 billed yearly; Pro $69.90, $52.45 yearly; Premium $399.90, $299.95 yearly (Lusha pricing, September 2026). No public 1M price: the top public tier is 10,000 credits a month at $977.40.

7. Seamless.AI: best for an all-in-one rep workspace

seamless-ai homepage

Seamless.AI is a sales platform with a Chrome extension, a dialer and a credit meter. It claims 2.2B+ verified contacts and 448M+ verified mobile numbers (Seamless.AI API page, September 2026). Those are its own claims.

It publishes no dollar price. The pricing page is an inquiry form, and API keys are bundled with plan tiers or sold as an add-on (Seamless.AI pricing, September 2026). The Free license has 50 credits and no refill. Pro carries 10,000 credits a month per license.

One credit covers one researched contact, email and phone together. Search costs 1 credit per 10 results. The default rate limit is 60 requests a minute per endpoint (Seamless.AI docs, September 2026). The hosted MCP server has 57 tools (Seamless.AI MCP docs, September 2026).

Pros

  • One credit returns email and phone together.
  • A page of 500 contacts per search and per research call.
  • Hosted MCP server with OAuth 2.1 or an API key.
  • A rep workspace with dialer.

Cons

  • No published dollar price for any plan.
  • Subscriptions are annual, sales are final, and cancelling needs 60 days' notice (Seamless.AI terms, September 2026).
  • The docs do not say whether a missing result is charged.
  • MCP access must be enabled on the account.

Best for: Reps who want search, calling and data in one workspace.

Pricing: No public price. Free license with 50 credits; Basic 250 credits a month; Pro 10,000 credits a month per license (Seamless.AI license types, September 2026). No public 1M price: 1M researches is 1M credits and a quote.

FAQ

What is the best AI tool for sales prospecting?

It depends on who does the prospecting. Apollo is the best single app for reps. LeadOcean is the best for code, agents and volume. Clay is the best for workflow tables.

Which AI prospecting tool is cheapest at scale?

LeadOcean, among the tools with a published price. Agency is $497 a month for 1M records. Apollo's list price for 1M emails is $24,750 a month, and the other five print no price at that volume (Apollo pricing, September 2026).

Do these tools have an MCP server for AI agents?

Yes, all seven. Apollo, Clay, ZoomInfo GTM AI, FullEnrich, Lusha, Seamless.AI and LeadOcean each run a hosted MCP server. Tool counts differ: LeadOcean has 13, Lusha 50 and Seamless.AI 57. Read the credit rules before you let an agent loop.

Can I use more than one?

Yes. You can keep a rep tool such as Apollo or Lusha for daily work and use LeadOcean for bulk pulls. See Apollo alternatives for how that split works.

Is there a free AI prospecting tool?

All seven have a free plan, license or trial. LeadOcean's free plan has 1,000 records for life, no card, and every feature. FullEnrich gives 50 credits and Seamless.AI 50 credits with no refill.

How do I size a list before I pay?

Use a free count. In LeadOcean, leadocean_count_leads and leadocean_count_companies return a total at no record cost. ZoomInfo GTM AI makes search and lookup free too. See pricing for plan limits.
