People leave Cognism when the price, the credits and the API all sit behind a sales call. Its pricing page lists two plans, Standard and Pro, with 5 seats each and no dollar amount (Cognism pricing, September 2026). One credit reveals one contact, and each seat carries an allocation. The API and MCP server are new and ship on the new packages. Existing customers ask their account team to upgrade, and the package sets the search tokens and rate limits (Cognism docs, September 2026). That suits a sales team that dials European mobiles. It is a poor fit for a pipeline or an agent that needs a price it can forecast.
This page ranks seven alternatives for API and volume buyers. LeadOcean is first because it has one flat public price and REST plus MCP on every plan. For a two-column view, see LeadOcean vs Cognism. If the API is the pain, read Cognism API alternatives.
TL;DR
| Tool | Best for | Starting price | Cost at 1M records a month |
|---|---|---|---|
| LeadOcean | API, agent and volume buyers | Free (1,000 records, one-off). Pro $499 a month | $499 a month flat. Fair use applies |
| People Data Labs | Licensed data and per-match enrichment | Pro from $98 a month for 350 credits | No public 1M price. Pro is about $0.20 to $0.28 a profile, and above about 100,000 profiles a year it is quote only |
| FullEnrich | Waterfall emails and mobiles behind an API | Pro $29 a month for 500 credits | No public 1M price. Top monthly tier is 100,000 credits for $3,500 a month (FullEnrich pricing, September 2026) |
| Lusha | Reps who want a browser extension and an API | Free, 40 credits a month. Starter $49.90 a month ($37.45 billed yearly) | No public 1M price. Top tier is Premium at 10,000 credits a month for $977.40 (Lusha pricing, September 2026) |
| ZoomInfo | Enterprise suite, or a pay-as-you-go API | Platform quoted. GTM.AI from $20, 1,000 free data credits | No public 1M price. The GTM.AI slider stops at 100,000 credits for $25,000 ($0.25 each) |
| Apollo | Reps who want a database and a sequencer | Basic $49 per seat a month, billed annually | $24,750 a month on monthly billing (250 Professional seats at $99), or $19,600 a month billed yearly (400 Basic seats at $49) |
| Kaspr | LinkedIn-first reps selling in Europe | Free. Starter €59 ($65) per user a month | No public 1M price. Top public tier is Business at €99 ($99) per user a month, with 30,000 exports a year. Enterprise is custom (Kaspr pricing, September 2026) |
"1M records" here means 1M work-email lookups that return a result, one credit each where the vendor uses credits. Where a vendor publishes no plan that big, the cell says so and names its top public tier. Cognism publishes no price, so it has no row. Enterprise quotes are lower, so ask each vendor at your volume.
What we evaluated
- API access: which plan opens it, the endpoints that return people and companies, and the default rate limit.
- MCP: whether an agent can search and enrich through the server, or only read documentation.
- Price model: flat, credits or seats, and what 1M records a month costs at list price.
- Data: stated coverage, email and phone fields, and search filters.
- Limits that bite: daily caps, plan gates, expiring credits and contract terms.
We read each vendor's pricing page and docs in September 2026. We ran no find-rate or accuracy test for this page, so we quote no quality numbers.
1. LeadOcean: best for API, agent and volume buyers
LeadOcean is one dataset behind one REST API and one MCP server. It holds 693M people, 366M with an email and 166M with a phone number, plus 63M companies. You search with 50 people filters and 34 company filters. Counts are free. Enrichment is POST /v1/people/enrich, phones are GET /v2/people/phone, and exports run up to 50,000 rows per request.
The price does not move with volume. Pro is $499 a month with unlimited searches, enrichments and lookups, 5 API keys and 100 requests per second per key. There are no credits, no seats and no overage invoice. A very large month is paced down to one request a minute until the reset, not cut off. More headroom is one email to support.
curl -X POST "https://api.leadocean.io/v1/people/enrich" \
-H "x-api-key: $LEADOCEAN_API_KEY" \
-H "content-type: application/json" \
-d '{"linkedin_url":"https://www.linkedin.com/in/jane-doe","reveal_email":true}'The MCP server at https://api.leadocean.io/mcp signs in with OAuth 2.1 and exposes 12 tools, from search_leads to find_phone and export_leads. Claude, Cursor or your own agent can pull records directly. Every person or company returned counts as one record, and count_leads is free. The app at app.leadocean.io has an Exports page for people who do not want to write code. It has a filter builder, a column picker, a price preview and a CSV download.
Pros
- Flat $499 a month at any volume, with no credit meter and no seats.
- REST and MCP on every plan, including Free.
- Email status on every record, from
verifiedtospam_trap. - Free counts, and a miss on
POST /v1/people/enrichis a free 404.
Cons
- No phone-call verification and no Do-Not-Call scrubbing. Cognism has both.
- No rep workspace: no sequencer, dialer, CRM or Chrome extension.
- No intent data. Filter on funding and hiring fields instead.
Best for: engineers, RevOps and agents that need volume and a fixed bill.
Pricing: Free is 1,000 records, one-off, no card. Pro is $499 a month, flat (LeadOcean pricing, September 2026).
2. People Data Labs: best for data licences and per-match enrichment

People Data Labs (PDL) is a long-running person and company data API with bulk licences. Its All dataset holds 2.47 billion person profiles, 592 million of them with an email (PDL docs, September 2026). It charges per match. A request that returns a person costs one credit, and a miss costs none.
The entry price is high per record. Pro starts at $98 a month for 350 credits, which is $0.28 each. PDL says Pro profiles cost about $0.20 to $0.28, depending on volume. Free gives up to 100 records a month with contact data obfuscated. Annual billing saves 20% (PDL pricing, September 2026). Above about 100,000 profiles a year it is quote only, so there is no public 1M price.
The API is fast. Enrichment allows 1,000 calls a minute on paid plans, and bulk enrichment takes 100 people per request (PDL docs, September 2026). Person Search is slower, at 10 requests a minute by default (PDL docs, September 2026). Whole datasets ship as licensed files to your cloud (PDL docs, September 2026). We found no official MCP server in PDL's docs index (PDL docs, September 2026).
Pros
- A stated 1,000 calls a minute on paid enrichment.
- Dataset licences for your own warehouse.
- ISO and SOC 2 Type 2 shown on the pricing page.
- Unsuccessful requests are not billed.
Cons
- $0.28 a record at the entry rate, about $0.20 at volume. Above about 100,000 profiles a year it is quote only.
- Search is capped at 10 requests a minute by default.
- Contact data is hidden on the Free plan.
- No official MCP server found, so agents need a wrapper you host.
Best for: data teams that license datasets or need compliance paperwork and accept per-record pricing.
Pricing: Free up to 100 records a month. Pro from $98 a month for 350 credits. Enterprise custom (PDL pricing, September 2026).
3. FullEnrich: best for waterfall emails and mobiles behind an API
FullEnrich is the closest match to what many Cognism buyers want: mobiles and emails from several sources in one call. It queries 25+ sources for each contact and charges only for data it finds (FullEnrich pricing, September 2026). Its pricing page lists API access, people and company search and an MCP server on Pro.
Credits are the meter. A work email costs 1 credit, a personal email 3 and a mobile 10. Pro starts at $29 a month for 500 credits ($0.058 each). The 1,000-credit tier is $55 a month ($0.055 each). Search costs 0.25 credits per person returned (FullEnrich docs, September 2026). A mobile on the 1,000-credit tier costs $0.55.
The API allows 60 calls a minute, with up to 100 contacts in a bulk request. Higher limits are an Enterprise feature (FullEnrich docs, September 2026). The MCP server can search, enrich and export, and it asks you before it spends credits (FullEnrich help, September 2026). The pricing page lists SOC 2 Type II.
Pros
- Waterfall across 25+ sources, so one call can cover several vendors.
- Search, enrichment and export in the MCP server.
- No credits used when nothing is found.
- SOC 2 Type II shown on the pricing page.
Cons
- Mobiles cost 10 credits each, so phone-heavy pulls get expensive fast.
- The default API limit is 60 calls a minute.
- A credit meter at volume. There is no public price at 1M work emails. The top monthly tier is 100,000 credits for $3,500 a month ($0.035 a credit), and above that you contact sales.
Best for: teams that want waterfall contact data, mostly emails and mobiles, through an API or an agent.
Pricing: Pro from $29 a month for 500 credits, up to $3,500 a month for 100,000. Billed yearly, the top tier is 1,200,000 credits a year for $37,800. Enterprise custom (FullEnrich pricing, September 2026).
4. Lusha: best for reps who want a browser extension and an API

Lusha is a contact and company platform sold on credits. It has a Chrome extension, a REST API and an MCP server. Its homepage claims more than 525 million contacts and more than 29 million companies (Lusha, September 2026). It is the tool to pick when reps reveal contacts on LinkedIn and engineers also need a key.
An email costs 1 credit and a phone number 5. A request costs at least 1 credit even when nothing comes back (Lusha API guide, September 2026). On the pricing page, Starter is $49.90 a month ($37.45 a month billed yearly for 4,800 credits a year). Pro is $69.90 ($52.45) and Premium $399.90 ($299.95). The page lists API from Pro and API Advanced on Premium, yet every user gets an API key on every plan, Free included (Lusha pricing, September 2026). Scale is custom.
The API caps are the catch. Pro allows 50 requests a minute and 1,500 a day. Premium allows 300 a minute and 18,000 a day, and Scale 50,000 a day. Bulk calls take at most 100 records (Lusha API guide, September 2026). The MCP server uses OAuth and lists 50 tools, including signals, lookalikes and call search (Lusha MCP docs, September 2026).
Pros
- Chrome extension and API in one account.
- A large MCP toolset that goes beyond lookups.
- Signals and lookalikes next to contact data.
- A free plan for testing.
Cons
- A daily request cap on every plan, up to 50,000 on Scale.
- A credit meter. An email and a phone together cost 6 credits.
- Bulk is limited to 100 records per request.
Best for: sales teams that want reveals in the browser and some API access on the same credits.
Pricing: Free 40 credits a month. Starter $49.90, Pro $69.90 and Premium $399.90 a month, or $37.45, $52.45 and $299.95 billed yearly. Scale custom (Lusha pricing, September 2026).
5. ZoomInfo: best for an enterprise suite, with a credit API on the side
ZoomInfo is the enterprise sales intelligence suite that most Cognism buyers compare against. It does not publish platform prices. Vendr reports a median of $33,500 a year, with contracts from $7,220 to $155,730 (Vendr, updated February 2026). ZoomInfo says most paid plans bill annually upfront (ZoomInfo, July 2026).
For code, ZoomInfo now sells GTM.AI, an API, MCP server and CLI on pay-as-you-go credits. Data credits list at $0.38 each at the $1,000 spend tier, falling to $0.25 at 100,000 credits for $25,000, where the slider stops. Search and lookup are free, and the free tier gives 1,000 data credits and 5 requests per second (GTM.AI pricing, September 2026). It says a record is charged once per data point per 12 months.
ZoomInfo reports 500 million contacts and 100 million companies, plus ISO 27001, ISO 27701, SOC 2 Type II and TRUSTe GDPR certifications (VentureBeat, June 2026). On platform plans, API access is sold as an add-on (Vendr, February 2026).
Pros
- Intent data, org charts and a full sales suite.
- A self-serve API and MCP server with no contract.
- Free search and lookup on GTM.AI.
- Certifications listed for procurement.
Cons
- $0.25 to $0.45 a credit at list. The slider stops at 100,000 credits for $25,000, so there is no public 1M price.
- Platform plans are annual, with no public price.
- The free tier allows 5 requests per second.
Best for: sales teams that want intent and org charts in one suite, and buyers who accept a credit API.
Pricing: Platform plans by quote. GTM.AI is pay as you go from $20, with 1,000 free data credits (GTM.AI pricing, September 2026).
6. Apollo: best for reps who want a database and a sequencer in one

Apollo is a sales platform with a contact database attached. It lists 240M+ contacts and 30M+ companies, sequences, a dialer and a Chrome extension (Apollo MCP page, September 2026). It ranks sixth here because the pricing is built around seats, not volume.
Basic is $49 per seat a month with 30,000 credits a year. Professional is $79 with 48,000. Organization is $119 with 72,000 and a three-seat minimum, all billed annually (Apollo pricing, September 2026). An email costs 1 credit and a phone number 8. Unused credits expire each cycle.
For code, the limits are workable. Enrichment endpoints allow 1,000 requests a minute on paid plans, and search allows 200 a minute and 50,000 a day (Apollo docs, September 2026). The MCP server works on any plan, including Free.
Pros
- Database, sequences, dialer and CRM sync in one tool.
- MCP server on every plan, with OAuth sign-in.
- A free plan to test the data.
Cons
- Seats and credits both scale your bill, and credits expire each cycle.
- A phone number costs 8 credits.
- Record selection caps of 25, 1,000, 2,500 and 10,000 by plan.
Best for: sales reps who prospect and send from one workspace.
Pricing: Free. Basic $49, Professional $79, Organization $119 per seat a month, billed annually (Apollo pricing, September 2026).
7. Kaspr: best for LinkedIn-first prospecting in Europe
Kaspr is a Chrome extension first. A rep opens a LinkedIn profile and gets a phone number and an email. The homepage claims over 200m profiles and says the data is GDPR aligned (Kaspr, September 2026). That is the closest thing in this list to Cognism's European, phone-first pitch, at seat prices.
The pricing page lists a Free plan, Starter at €59 ($65) per user a month and Business at €99 ($99), billed monthly, with unlimited B2B email credits on paid plans. Starter includes 100 phone credits a month and Business 200. API access is "upon request", limited on Starter and full on Business (Kaspr pricing, September 2026). Enterprise is a custom quote.
The API is narrow. It starts from a LinkedIn profile URL and returns contact data for that person (Kaspr API page, September 2026). Each call spends a data credit plus an export credit (Kaspr help, September 2026). Kaspr does not document an MCP server on its pricing page, API page or API help article. Its public Stoplight workspace is an empty template (Kaspr API page, October 2026; Kaspr Stoplight). Treat it as not published.
Pros
- Unlimited B2B email credits on paid plans.
- A low entry price per rep, with a free plan.
- Built for LinkedIn and Sales Navigator work.
Cons
- API access is on request, with small daily caps on Starter and Business.
- The API needs a LinkedIn URL and offers no search.
- Phone and export credits are metered on top of seats.
- No MCP server found.
Best for: reps and founders who prospect on LinkedIn, mostly in Europe, one profile at a time.
Pricing: Free. Starter €59 ($65) and Business €99 ($99) per user a month, billed monthly. Enterprise custom (Kaspr pricing, September 2026).

Sources are linked in each tool section, all checked in September 2026. Vendors change plans often, so confirm on the pricing page before you buy. The 1M column is list-price arithmetic on email lookups where a public plan sells that volume. Apollo is 250 Professional seats at $99 on monthly billing, or 400 Basic seats at $49 on yearly billing. PDL and ZoomInfo have no public 1M price: PDL is quote only above about 100,000 profiles a year, and the GTM.AI slider stops at 100,000 credits for $25,000. FullEnrich, Lusha and Kaspr have no public 1M price. FullEnrich tops out at 100,000 credits a month for $3,500. Lusha tops out at Premium with 10,000 credits a month for $977.40. Kaspr tops out at Business with 30,000 exports a year. As an illustration only, 1M Kaspr export credits in 100,000-credit packs at $3,080 is about $30,800.
How to choose
- You pull data in code or with an agent, at volume: LeadOcean. One flat price, REST and MCP on every plan, 100 requests per second.
- You license datasets or need compliance paperwork: People Data Labs.
- You need waterfall emails and mobiles: FullEnrich, and budget 10 credits per mobile.
- Reps reveal on LinkedIn and engineers need an API too: Lusha, and check the daily cap.
- You want intent, org charts and one suite: ZoomInfo. Use GTM.AI if you only need the API.
- Reps prospect and send from one workspace: Apollo.
- Your reps prospect on LinkedIn in Europe: Kaspr, and skip it for pipelines.
- Reps dial European mobiles and need call-verified numbers and Do-Not-Call checks: stay on Cognism. Cognism claims 10M+ phone-verified contacts and DNC checks in 15 territories (Cognism Diamond Data, September 2026).
Verdict
LeadOcean wins for API, agent and volume buyers. It has a flat price, emails and phones in one plan, and an MCP server that returns records. PDL is the runner-up for licensed data and raw API speed. FullEnrich wins for waterfall mobiles, Lusha for reps who want an extension and an API, and ZoomInfo for intent and a full suite. Apollo wins for reps who want a sequencer and Kaspr for LinkedIn work in Europe. Stay on Cognism if reps dial European mobiles and need its verification. Otherwise start on the free plan and compare the same lookups.
FAQ
Why do teams leave Cognism?
Price and access. Cognism publishes no price, allocates credits per seat, and sells the API on the new packages only (Cognism pricing, September 2026; Cognism docs). Teams that use it as a data source often move to an API with a public price.
What is the cheapest Cognism alternative at volume?
At 1M records a month, LeadOcean at $499 flat is cheapest on list price. Apollo seats come next at $19,600 a month billed yearly, or $24,750 on monthly billing. FullEnrich, Lusha, Kaspr, PDL and ZoomInfo publish no plan that reaches 1M, so their price at that volume is a sales quote.
Does Cognism have an API or an MCP server?
Yes to both. The API is REST over HTTPS with OAuth 2.0 client credentials. Count requests cost no credits, and contact details are the only call that spends them (Cognism docs, September 2026). The MCP server exposes the same capabilities to Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor.
What are Cognism's API rate limits?
The default is 500 requests a minute per account, per operation (search, count and dictionary). Higher limits are set per package through the account team (Cognism rate limits, September 2026). Ask your account team for your limit in writing before you commit.
Which Cognism alternative has an MCP server that returns data?
LeadOcean, FullEnrich, Lusha, ZoomInfo through GTM.AI and Apollo all do. We found no official server for PDL or Kaspr. Compare the tools each one exposes before you choose.
Do I need a credit card to try LeadOcean?
No. The free plan needs a work email and no card. It gives you 1,000 records, one-off, with the same API and MCP server as Pro. See pricing.
