ContactOut and Kaspr both find work emails and phone numbers from a LinkedIn profile, and both ship a Chrome extension. ContactOut sells one plan per account and publishes no API price. Kaspr sells per user, with phone, direct email and export credits on top, and its API is capped by the day.
All prices and limits below were checked in September 2026, each with its source link. Where a vendor publishes nothing, the page says so.
Verdict
- Pick ContactOut if you want the larger claimed profile count, personal emails, a cheap self-serve plan and an MCP server. Email is $49 a month on monthly billing, and the API allows 1,000 requests a minute on most endpoints.
- Pick Kaspr if your reps prospect on LinkedIn in Europe and phone numbers matter most. It works on Sales Navigator and Recruiter Lite, and it has native CRM and dialer integrations.
- Pick neither if you pull thousands of records a month through code. ContactOut's API needs a sales call and Kaspr caps Business at 500 API requests a day. That case is covered near the end.

Data and coverage
ContactOut claims the bigger set, and it breaks the set down. Its data page lists 800M people profiles, 150M personal emails, 200M work emails, 100M direct dials and 40M companies. Source: ContactOut data, September 2026. Its homepage headline says 350M and its MCP page says 600M+, so ask which number your plan reaches.
Kaspr gives fewer numbers. It claims 200m+ profiles and 500m+ verified phone numbers and emails (Kaspr homepage, September 2026). It does not split emails from phones.
Where each tool is strong differs. Kaspr says it holds 200 million European B2B decision-makers from 120+ providers (Kaspr data page, September 2026). ContactOut is global and is the only one of the two that lists personal emails as a count. Both claims come from the vendors, so run your own titles and countries through each free plan.
API and developer experience
Both APIs start from a LinkedIn profile URL, and neither takes Sales Navigator or Recruiter URLs. ContactOut's docs say the API does not support them (ContactOut API docs, September 2026), and Kaspr's help center says the same (Kaspr help center, September 2026).
ContactOut authenticates with a token header. Contact info for one profile is a GET request. It costs one email credit if an email is found and one phone credit if a phone is found and include_phone is true (ContactOut API docs, September 2026).
curl "https://api.contactout.com/v1/people/linkedin?profile=https://www.linkedin.com/in/example-person&include_phone=true" \
--header "Content-Type: application/json" \
--header "Accept: application/json" \
--header "token: <YOUR_API_TOKEN>"Kaspr's API takes a POST with a name and a LinkedIn ID. Each request spends one credit for the data type fetched, plus one export credit for each successful call (Kaspr help center, September 2026). The docs add a Bearer header and per-minute rate-limit headers on every response (Kaspr API docs, September 2026).
curl -X POST "https://api.developers.kaspr.io/profile/linkedin" \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $KASPR_API_KEY" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"name":"Jane Doe","id":"jane-doe"}'ContactOut has more surface. Besides single lookups it offers an async bulk job of up to 1,000 profiles, people search, a people count and decision-makers (ContactOut API docs, September 2026). Kaspr's public docs list profile enrichment by LinkedIn ID and a credit-balance check, and we found no search endpoint (Kaspr API docs, September 2026).
On MCP, ContactOut lists 15 tools for Claude and other clients (ContactOut MCP, September 2026). Kaspr lists none on the pages we read. Absence is not proof, so confirm with Kaspr if MCP decides the purchase.
The catch on both sides is access. ContactOut says to book a meeting to get an API key. Kaspr API access is upon request from Starter up (ContactOut API docs, September 2026; Kaspr pricing, September 2026).
Pricing
ContactOut sells per account. Global coverage: Email is $49 a month on monthly billing ($39 billed yearly), with 300 exports a month. Email + Phone is $99 ($79 billed yearly), with 600 exports. The page shows struck-through originals of $99 and $199. Every plan is one user per company (ContactOut pricing, September 2026). "Unlimited" is capped under fair use at 2,000 email and 1,000 phone credits per account per month (ContactOut terms, September 2026). Team / API shows Contact Us.
Kaspr sells per user. Starter is $65 a month billed monthly and Business is $99, both in USD. Both have unlimited B2B email credits. Business adds 200 phone credits a month. Annual figures of $49 and $79 sit in the page markup, but the page shows no annual option, so treat them as reported (Kaspr pricing, September 2026). Enterprise is custom.
At 10,000 records a month
Assume 10,000 people, each with a work email found.
- ContactOut: one account covers 2,000 emails a month under fair use. 10,000 / 2,000 = 5 accounts. Self-serve allows one user per company, so there is no public price for this volume. The API is a quote.
- Kaspr: B2B emails are unlimited, but every API call spends an export credit. Business includes 30,000 exports a year, about 2,500 a month, and allows 500 API requests a day. Kaspr sells export add-on packs, 10,000 for $308 on the monthly plan, but does not say whether they lift the plan's export limit. So there is no public price for 10,000 a month; ask Kaspr.
With phones, Kaspr phone credits run $0.21 to $0.36 each by pack size, so 10,000 phones adds roughly $2,100 to $3,600 (Kaspr pricing, September 2026). ContactOut's phone cap is 1,000 credits per account a month.
At 1M records a month
No public 1M price on either tool, so this page does not estimate one.
- ContactOut: the highest public tier is Email + Phone at $99 a month with 600 exports a month, and the API has no public price (ContactOut pricing, September 2026).
- Kaspr: the highest public tier is Business at $99 per user a month, with 30,000 exports a year and 500 API requests a day. That is about 15,000 requests a month, so no public plan reaches 1M. Enterprise is custom (Kaspr pricing, September 2026).
For a 1M pull, ask both for a written quote.
Where ContactOut wins
ContactOut wins on breadth and on price at small volume. It lists the larger people count, 150M personal emails and 100M direct dials. Source: ContactOut data, September 2026. Kaspr publishes neither a personal-email count nor a separate phone count.
It wins on API shape. Most endpoints allow 1,000 requests a minute, and an async job takes 1,000 profiles. Kaspr Business allows 500 requests a day (ContactOut API docs, September 2026; Kaspr pricing, September 2026).
It also wins on MCP: 15 tools and 600+ free credits at onboarding. For one recruiter or rep, $49 a month is cheaper than a Kaspr seat once you add credits.
Where Kaspr wins
Kaspr wins on Europe and on phones. It claims 200 million European B2B decision-makers, and its pitch leads with accurate phone numbers (Kaspr data page, September 2026; Kaspr homepage, September 2026).
It wins on LinkedIn tooling. Starter works with Sales Navigator and Business with Recruiter Lite (Kaspr pricing, September 2026). Native integrations cover HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, Zoho, Lemlist, Brevo, Aircall and Ringover (Kaspr integrations, September 2026).
It wins on transparency at scale. Kaspr prints add-on prices per credit and pooled credits roll over on paid plans. ContactOut prints no API price at all.
If you need volume through an API
LeadOcean is a data API with a hosted MCP server and a flat price, and it has no Chrome extension. Free gives 1,000 records one-off with no card. Pro is $499 a month flat, with 100 requests per second per key on every plan. It holds 693M people and 63M companies behind REST and MCP (pricing).
Phone lookup is GET /v2/people/phone, and POST /v1/exports returns up to 50,000 rows per request. The app at app.leadocean.io has an Exports page with a filter builder, a column picker and a price preview. There is no rep workspace, sequencer or dialer, so pair it with whatever your reps already use.
FAQ
Is ContactOut or Kaspr better for phone numbers?
Kaspr leads its pitch with phones and has a European focus. ContactOut claims 100M direct dials and includes phones on the Email + Phone plan at $99 a month. Neither publishes a hit rate, so test both free plans on your own list.
Do ContactOut and Kaspr have an API?
Yes, but neither is self-serve. ContactOut issues keys after a booked meeting. Kaspr gives API access upon request on paid plans and none on Free (ContactOut API docs, September 2026; Kaspr pricing, September 2026).
Does Kaspr have an MCP server?
We found none on Kaspr's pricing, API or help pages. ContactOut lists 15 tools on its MCP page (ContactOut MCP, September 2026). LeadOcean has a hosted MCP server with 12 tools on every plan, including Free.
How much does each cost at 1M records?
No public 1M price on either. ContactOut's API is a quote, and Kaspr's top public tier cannot reach that volume. Ask both for a written quote.

ContactOut Email is $49 a month on monthly billing and Kaspr Starter is $65 per user a month. ContactOut is one user per company. Kaspr is per user, with credits on top (ContactOut pricing, September 2026; Kaspr pricing, September 2026).
