People Data Labs (PDL) is a data API priced per matched profile. Kaspr is a LinkedIn Chrome extension sold per user, with a limited API on top. They overlap on contact data and on little else.
Verdict
- Pick People Data Labs if you are a developer who needs an API with real throughput. Enrichment runs at 1,000 requests a minute on paid plans, and a miss is not billed.
- Pick Kaspr if reps prospect profile by profile on LinkedIn and need phone numbers, mainly in Europe. Seats start at $65 a month billed monthly.
- Pick neither if you need bulk volume through an API at a price you can read. Neither publishes a 1M price. LeadOcean is one option: Pro is $499 a month, flat.

Data and coverage
PDL lists 2.47B person profiles. Kaspr claims 200m+ profiles. The units differ, so do not read this as a 12-to-1 gap.
PDL's 2.47B is its full person dataset, and only part of it carries contact data. Its email dataset is 592M profiles and its mobile dataset is 470M. Kaspr gives one combined figure for phone numbers and emails, 500m+, and publishes no split (Kaspr homepage, September 2026).
Europe is where Kaspr is strongest. It says it holds 200 million European B2B decision-makers, drawn from 120+ providers (Kaspr data page, September 2026). PDL publishes no Europe split in its dataset stats.
Phone is the other split. Kaspr is built around getting a number in one click on a LinkedIn profile, and the customer quotes on its data page lean on phone accuracy. PDL says 764M profiles have any phone and 470M have a mobile. It publishes no match or accuracy rate for either, and neither does Kaspr.
Test on your own list before you buy. Run the same 500 people through each free plan and compare the match rate. PDL's Free plan obscures contact data, so you need to pay to see its emails and phones. Kaspr's Free plan gives 5 phone credits a month, enough for a spot check, not a benchmark.
API and developer experience
PDL is built as an API first. Kaspr is built as an extension first, and its API is a side door that asks for a LinkedIn URL.
PDL sends a key in the X-Api-Key header to GET /v5/person/enrich. A match returns 200 and is billed. A miss returns 404 and is not (PDL docs, September 2026).
curl -G "https://api.peopledatalabs.com/v5/person/enrich" \
-H "X-Api-Key: $PDL_API_KEY" \
--data-urlencode "profile=https://linkedin.com/in/jane-doe"Kaspr uses a Bearer key in the authorization header. Its docs say you look a person up by LinkedIn ID, and every response carries Decreased-Credits and Remaining-Credits headers (Kaspr API docs, September 2026). Kaspr's own setup guide posts a JSON body with name and id to the path below (Kaspr help center, October 2026).
curl -X POST "https://api.developers.kaspr.io/profile/linkedin" \
-H "authorization: Bearer $KASPR_API_KEY" \
-H "content-type: application/json" \
-d '{"name":"Jane Doe","id":"jane-doe"}'The limits differ more than the requests do. PDL limits are per key in a fixed one-minute window. Enrichment allows 1,000 a minute on paid plans, but Person Search allows only 10 a minute by default (PDL usage limits, September 2026).
Kaspr caps by hour and day. Starter gets 20 requests an hour and 250 a day, and Business gets 250 an hour and 500 a day. Each successful API call also spends an export credit on top of the data credit (Kaspr help center, September 2026).
On MCP, neither has an official server. PDL has only community servers (PDL llms.txt, September 2026). We found no MCP on Kaspr's pricing, API or help pages, though absence on those pages is not proof.
Pricing
PDL charges one credit per matched profile. Kaspr charges per seat, then per credit type, then one export credit per API call. Convert both to cost per record to compare them.
At 10,000 records a month
For PDL, 10,000 profiles is 10,000 credits. PDL says Pro profiles cost about $0.20 to $0.28 each, depending on volume and plan. So 10,000 x $0.20 = $2,000 and 10,000 x $0.28 = $2,800 (PDL blog, September 2026).
PDL does not publish the exact rate at this volume. Its pricing page shows only the entry tier, and 10,000 a month is 120,000 a year. PDL sends buyers above about 100,000 profiles to Enterprise, and its docs and blog disagree on whether that is per month or per year (PDL blog, September 2026).
For Kaspr, take 10,000 API lookups on one Business seat at $99 a month billed monthly. Business allows 500 API requests a day, about 15,000 a month, and 30,000 exports a year, which is 2,500 a month. Each call spends an export credit, so you buy export add-on credits. Kaspr does not say whether they lift the yearly export limit.
Work emails are unlimited on paid plans, so the cost is the export credit. The top export pack is 100,000 credits for $3,080, about $0.03 each, so 10,000 x $0.03 = $308 plus the $99 seat. With phones, add the top phone pack rate of about $0.21, so 10,000 x $0.21 = $2,100 more. That is an illustration at the largest pack prices, not a quote (Kaspr pricing, September 2026).
At 1M records a month
For PDL: no public 1M price. Self-serve Pro stops near 100,000 profiles, and above that PDL quotes Enterprise only. Do not multiply the Pro rate out to 1M and call it a quote.
For Kaspr: no public 1M price. Business tops out at 500 API requests a day and 30,000 exports a year. At 500 a day, 1,000,000 lookups would take 2,000 days. Enterprise is custom and unpriced (Kaspr pricing, September 2026).
Ask both vendors for a quote at your volume, and ask Kaspr for its API request limits on Enterprise.
Where People Data Labs wins
- Throughput. Enrichment runs at 1,000 requests a minute on paid plans. Kaspr Business allows 500 API requests a day.
- Bigger dataset and phone counts. 2.47B profiles, 592M with an email and 764M with any phone, by PDL's own stats.
- An open API. PDL's Free plan includes API access. Kaspr's API is upon request on paid plans and absent on Free.
- Bulk files and a free miss. An annual Data License delivers person data to S3, GCP or Azure, and a 404 is not billed.
Where Kaspr wins
- The LinkedIn workflow. A rep opens a profile and gets a number in one click. PDL is an API with no extension.
- European reach, by its own number. Kaspr claims 200 million European B2B decision-makers. PDL publishes no Europe split.
- Cheap seats for one rep. Starter is $65 a month billed monthly, against $98 a month for PDL's smallest Pro plan with 350 credits.
- Native integrations. Kaspr connects to HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive and Zapier (Kaspr integrations, September 2026). With PDL you build the connection.
If you need volume through an API
We build LeadOcean, so weigh this section accordingly. LeadOcean holds 693M people and 63M companies, and you reach them over REST and MCP. Free is 1,000 records, one-off, with no card. Pro is $499 a month, flat, with unlimited searches and lookups and 100 requests per second per key (LeadOcean pricing, September 2026).
For bulk work, POST /v1/exports returns up to 50,000 rows per request, so 1M rows is 20 calls over two days. The app also has an Exports page with a filter builder and CSV download (LeadOcean exports docs, September 2026). There is no Chrome extension, sequencer or dialer. See the PDL alternatives page for a wider list.
FAQ
Which has more contacts, People Data Labs or Kaspr?
PDL, by its own count. It lists 2.47B person profiles and 592M with an email. Kaspr claims 200m+ profiles and 500m+ phone numbers and emails combined. The units differ, so test both on your own list.
Does Kaspr have an API?
Yes, but access is upon request on paid plans, and Free has none. Starter allows 250 requests a day and Business 500 a day. Each successful call spends a data credit and an export credit (Kaspr pricing, September 2026).
Does People Data Labs or Kaspr have an MCP server?
Neither has an official one that we could find. PDL lists none in its docs, llms.txt or GitHub organization. Kaspr's pricing, API and help pages carry no MCP mention.
Is Kaspr cheaper than People Data Labs?
For one rep, yes. Kaspr Starter is $65 a month billed monthly in USD, and PDL Pro starts at $98 a month for 350 credits. For API volume the picture flips, because Kaspr caps requests by the day and charges an export credit per call.
Which one can do 1M records a month?
Neither publishes a price at that volume. PDL sends it to Enterprise, and Kaspr's top public plan allows 500 API requests a day. Ask both for a quote at your volume.
How does LeadOcean compare with these two?
LeadOcean is a data API and MCP server with one flat price, $499 a month on Pro. It is not a rep tool. Read the PDL vs Wiza, PDL vs Snov.io and PDL vs Icypeas comparisons for more on PDL.
