The cheapest People Data Labs plan is Testing at $0 for up to 100 credits a month, with contact data obfuscated. The plan most teams buy is Self-Serve, from $98 a month for 350 credits, which works out to $0.28 a credit. There is no public price for 1M records a month. Above about 100,000 profiles a year, PDL sells only through Enterprise quotes.

All prices below were checked in September 2026. PDL bills by credit, one credit per matched person or returned record. That is cheap at 350 records and expensive at a million. The rest of this page shows where the line falls and what sits outside the published price.

Three things decide your bill: which API you call, how many records match, and whether you sit under the 100k-record line where self-serve ends.

Plans

PDL sells person data and company data on separate pricing pages. The person plans are below. Annual billing takes about 20% off, and PDL says volume discounts start as usage grows.

The company page contradicts itself. The plan card says $100 a month and 1,000 records. The comparison table on the same page says from $98 and 350 records. The docs repeat the split: $98 for person, $100 for company.

PDL also says that above 100k records you should contact sales. That is where 1M and 25M a month live, with no public price.

What a credit buys

One credit is one matched record, not one request. A call that finds nobody costs nothing on the enrichment APIs. The exception is Person Identify, which bills every call.

Hidden costs

  • Credit types are separate. The response header lists eight types: enrich, search, search_company, enrich_company, enrich_skill, enrich_job_title, preview_search and person_identify. A September 2026 guide reports they are not interchangeable.
  • Search bills per record returned. Pulling the same person twice costs two credits. PDL says you can exclude up to 1,000 known PDL IDs per query, with limits (search FAQ).
  • Identify bills on a miss. One credit a call, match or not.
  • The free plan hides contact data. Emails, phones and addresses are obfuscated until you pay.
  • Premium fields are an add-on. PDL does not publish the price.
  • Hard stop at zero. Once total credits reach zero, requests return a 402 (usage limits).
  • Rate limits are per key and not listed. You read them from the dashboard or response headers.
  • Annual is a commitment. The 20% discount means paying for the year up front.
  • Volume is a sales call. Above about 100,000 profiles a year there is no price to read.

Worked examples

PDL has no public 1M price. Pro person profiles cost about $0.20 to $0.28 each depending on volume and subscription level. The $0.28 figure is the entry rate ($98 for 350 credits), not a volume rate (PDL blog, September 2026). Above about 100,000 profiles a year, PDL sells only through Enterprise quotes (PDL blog, Self-serve vs Enterprise).

Records a monthPeople Data LabsLeadOcean Pro
10,000$2,000 to $2,800 at the Pro range of $0.20 to $0.28 a profile. Past 100,000 a year, quote only.$499
1,000,000No public 1M price. Enterprise quote.$499
25,000,000No public price. Enterprise quote.$499

Only matches bill, so the total depends on how many records you need, not how many inputs you send. At 10,000 records the arithmetic is records times rate: 10,000 x $0.28 = $2,800 at the entry rate. Annual terms, field bundles and premium fields all move the number again.

The LeadOcean column is flat: Pro is $499 a month with unlimited searches, enrichments and lookups. A 25M-record month is past the fair-usage line, so it is paced down to one request a minute until the reset rather than cut off. One email to support gets more headroom.

Is it worth it

Developers testing an idea. Yes. Testing is free and the docs are good. Budget for the upgrade, because the free plan hides emails and phones.

Small teams enriching under 10k records. Mostly. At about $0.20 to $0.28 a match you pay for what you use, and a miss costs nothing. Watch search calls, which bill for every record returned.

Data products and platforms. This is what the Bulk Data plan is for: custom volume, feeds and a success manager. Expect a formal data test and an annual contract.

Outbound teams pulling 1M or more records. No. Per-record billing scales with volume, and PDL publishes no 1M price. A flat fee or a negotiated contract is the only sane route.

Agent builders. Check the fit first. PDL is an API with per-call billing, so an agent that loops on search burns credits on every record it returns.

Alternatives with a different price model

LeadOcean. Free is 1,000 records, one-off, no card. Pro is $499 a month flat, with no credits and no per-record price. It has 693M people and 63M companies, a REST API and a hosted MCP server with 12 tools. Start at /pricing or see /alternatives/people-data-labs.

Coresignal. Credit plans from Mini at $49 for 2,500 credits to Elite at $5,000 for 10,000,000. Pro is $499 for 35,000 credits. An employee record costs 10 to 20 credits, so a million records at 10 credits each needs the top plan (Coresignal pricing, September 2026). See /alternatives/coresignal.

Crustdata. Credit-based usage tiers with monthly and annual plans. The pricing page lists no prices and points to sales (September 2026), so compare it only after a quote.

More options sit in People Data Labs alternatives. For the same exercise on other tools, read Wappalyzer pricing, Harmonic pricing and ZeroBounce pricing.

FAQ

Is People Data Labs free?

Partly. Testing gives up to 100 credits a month at $0. Emails, phones and addresses are obfuscated on that plan, so it is for trying the API, not for outreach.

How much does one People Data Labs credit cost?

On Self-Serve it is $0.28 at the entry tier, from $98 for 350 credits. Annual billing brings that to about $0.224. PDL says Pro profiles run about $0.20 to $0.28 depending on volume, and it publishes no rate above the self-serve range.

Does People Data Labs charge for records it can't find?

Not on Person Enrichment: a 404 is free and billing is per match. Person Identify is the exception and charges every call.

What does 1M records cost on People Data Labs?

There is no public 1M price. Pro runs about $0.20 to $0.28 a profile, and above about 100,000 profiles a year PDL routes you to sales for an Enterprise quote.

Can I pay month to month?

Yes, on Self-Serve, monthly or annual. Bulk Data is annual only. Annual saves about 20% and means paying for the year.

How does LeadOcean pricing compare?

LeadOcean has two plans: Free (1,000 records, one-off, no card) and Pro at $499 a month flat. There are no credits, so the bill does not move with volume. See LeadOcean pricing.
