6 Best Surfe Alternatives in 2026 (Compared)

Surfe sells seats with small credit allowances and keeps the API on Enterprise. These six email finders suit teams that pull contact data in code or with an agent.

Get your free API key →Free to start. No credit card. 1,000 records to spend whenever you like.

People leave Surfe when the seat model stops matching the work. A Pro seat includes 12,000 email credits and 1,200 mobile credits a year, and the plan table lists the waterfall enrichment API under Enterprise only (Surfe pricing, September 2026). Without search credits, API search returns 200 results a day. The rate limit is 10 requests a second per user (Surfe credits and quotas, September 2026; Surfe rate limits, September 2026).

The MCP server is in beta and signs in with a Surfe API key (Surfe MCP docs, September 2026). Surfe publishes no price for 1M records. We cover the plans in Surfe pricing.

Below are six alternatives, ranked by fit for buyers who pull data through an API, an agent or at volume. Reps who work in a browser tab all day should read the "How to choose" section first.

What we evaluated

  • API access and limits: which plans include an API, the requests-per-second ceiling and any daily caps.
  • MCP server: whether an agent can call the tool, how it signs in and how many tools it exposes.
  • Cost at 1M records a month: the settled list price, or "No public 1M price" when the vendor publishes none. We never multiply a rate out.
  • Contact data: work email, personal email and mobile, and what a miss costs.
  • Fit for volume: whether the pricing model rewards bulk work or charges per seat and per credit.

1. LeadOcean: best for developers and agent builders

LeadOcean is a data API, not a prospecting app. It holds 693M people and 63M companies, with 366M people carrying an email and 166M carrying a phone number. You reach it over REST or over a hosted MCP server at https://api.leadocean.io/mcp, with OAuth 2.1 sign-in and no key pasted into a chat (LeadOcean MCP docs, September 2026).

The price is flat. Free is 1,000 records, one-off, with no card and the same API and MCP server as Pro. Pro is $499 a month with unlimited searches, enrichments and lookups, 100 requests per second per key and 5 API keys. There are no credits and no overage invoice. A very large month is paced down to one request a minute past the fair-usage line, and one email to support buys more headroom (LeadOcean pricing, September 2026).

Surfe users who move over usually do one thing: send a LinkedIn URL to POST /v1/people/enrich with reveal_email set to true. A person LeadOcean holds nothing for is a free 404. Mobile numbers come from GET /v2/people/phone, and a miss on a v2 contact endpoint costs one record. Counting an audience with count_leads is free, which makes sizing a list a zero-cost step.

Pros

  • One flat fee, so a 1M-record month and a 10k-record month cost the same $499.
  • 100 requests per second per key on every plan, against 10 per user on Surfe.
  • 12 MCP tools covering search, enrich, phone, company and export, on the free plan too.
  • 50 people filters and 34 company filters, with 13 email status values to read before you send.
  • Exports run from the app or POST /v1/exports, up to 50,000 rows per request.

Cons

  • No Chrome extension, CRM sync, sequencer or dialer. The app has an Exports page and nothing else for reps.
  • No name plus domain lookup. You search by domain first, then enrich by person ID.
  • Bounced emails are not refunded, so read email_status before you send.
  • meta.total on a search is capped at 100,000, and exports stop at 500,000 rows a day.

Best for: engineers, RevOps and agents that need people, company and email data at volume on a fixed bill.

Pricing: Free is 1,000 records one-off. Pro is $499 a month, flat (LeadOcean pricing, September 2026). Cost at 1M records a month is $499, under fair use.

2. Hunter: best for name plus domain lookups at bulk

Hunter finds the email for a name and a company domain. Email Finder costs 1 credit per email found and nothing when it finds none. Domain Search returns the addresses on a domain, and Email Verifier costs half a credit per check (Hunter help center, September 2026).

Hunter has the clearest bulk price on this list. The Data Platform is API and bulk only, and it sells 1,000,000 Search credits for $6,900, paid once and valid 12 months (Hunter Data Platform, September 2026). The all-in-one plans cost more per credit, so a high-volume buyer should look at the Data Platform first.

The API is documented per endpoint. Email Finder and Domain Search allow 15 requests a second and 500 a minute (Hunter API docs, September 2026). Hunter runs an MCP server at https://mcp.hunter.io/mcp, included in all plans and drawn from your plan credits (Hunter MCP, September 2026). A rate-limited call returns 403, and a usage-limit hit returns 429, which trips up retry code.

Pros

  • A published bulk price: $6,900 for 1,000,000 Search credits.
  • Misses cost no credit.
  • An official MCP server and a REST API on every plan, including Free.
  • A Chrome, Firefox and Edge extension and a Google Sheets add-on for people who work in a browser.

Cons

  • Lookups are per person or per domain. Building a list by title and seniority across a market is not what Domain Search does.
  • Credits on monthly plans reset each month and do not carry over.
  • Limits are per endpoint, so 15 requests a second is the ceiling on the core calls.
  • Data Platform credits are one-off purchases, so you forecast volume a year ahead.

Best for: developers who already have names and domains and want the cheapest published price per lookup.

Pricing: Free is $0 with 50 credits a month. Starter is $49 a month, or $34 billed yearly, for 2,000 credits. Growth is $149 and Scale is $299 a month (Hunter pricing, September 2026). 1M Search credits on the Data Platform is $6,900 (Hunter Data Platform, September 2026).

3. FullEnrich: best for waterfall mobiles on short lists

FullEnrich is a waterfall tool. It asks 25+ data sources for each email and phone and charges only for what it finds. A work email is 1 credit, a personal email 3 and a mobile 10 (FullEnrich docs, September 2026). Not found, or a landline, costs 0.

The vendor says it finds about 80% of work emails on average (FullEnrich pricing, September 2026). We have not tested that number. The API, MCP server, search, bulk CSV and HubSpot sit on every plan, and users are unlimited.

Volume is where it narrows. The default limit is 60 API calls a minute, with up to 100 contacts per bulk request (FullEnrich docs, September 2026). Search costs 0.25 credits per person returned and carries no contact data, so you pay to browse and again to enrich. The MCP server signs in with OAuth and covers search, enrich and export (FullEnrich help, September 2026).

Pros

  • A waterfall across 25+ sources in one call.
  • You pay only for found results.
  • API, MCP and bulk CSV on every plan, with unlimited users.
  • Pricing is per credit with no per-seat charge, which suits a mixed team.

Cons

  • A mobile costs 10 credits, so phone-heavy lists add up fast.
  • 60 calls a minute by default makes it slow for pipelines that need real-time lookups.
  • Enrichment is asynchronous: you start a batch, then poll or wait for a webhook.
  • No public price at 1M. The top monthly tier stops at 100,000 credits.

Best for: teams that need mobile numbers on a few thousand contacts and accept a credit bill.

Pricing: Pro starts at $29 a month for 500 credits, or $26 a month billed yearly. The tier the page opens on is $55 a month for 1,000 credits. 10,000 credits is $499 a month, and the top monthly tier is 100,000 credits for $3,500 (FullEnrich pricing, September 2026). No public 1M price.

4. Prospeo: best for reps who want an extension plus an API

Prospeo is an email and mobile finder sold per user on credits. A verified email is 1 credit, a mobile is 10 with the email included, and a request that returns nothing is 0 (Prospeo help center, September 2026). Re-enriching the same record within 90 days is free.

It is the closest in shape to Surfe. It has a Chrome extension on every plan, plus an API and a hosted MCP server. The server has 8 tools and signs in with OAuth 2.0 or an API key (Prospeo MCP docs, September 2026).

The API limits step up with the plan. Enrich runs at 5 requests a second on Starter and Growth, and 30 on Pro. Daily enrich caps are 2,000, 5,000 and 500,000 (Prospeo rate limits, September 2026). Search returns up to 25 results a page with no email or mobile, so enrichment is a second charge. Credits do not roll over.

Pros

  • Credits are pooled across seats, and add-on credits are shared by the team.
  • Per-credit rates fall as you buy more: $0.0245 on Starter down to $0.0166 on Pro on monthly billing.
  • A Chrome extension, a REST API and an MCP server in one product.
  • You pay nothing for a lookup that finds nothing.

Cons

  • No single plan reaches 1M. The cheapest public path stacks Pro seats and the top add-on.
  • Add-ons are a recurring subscription, need a paid plan and do not roll over.
  • Starter caps enrichment at 2,000 requests a day.
  • Per-user pricing means headcount drives the bill.

Best for: small sales teams that want an extension and an API from one vendor and run well under 100,000 lookups a month.

Pricing: Free is $0 with 100 credits a month. Starter is $49 per user a month ($37 billed yearly) for 2,000 credits. Growth is $99 for 5,000 and Pro is $249 for 15,000 (Prospeo pricing, September 2026). At 1M a month the cheapest public path is 44 Pro seats plus the 350,000-credit add-on, $14,456 a month on monthly billing. The slider tops out there. Extended add-on pricing is on request, with no public figure (Prospeo help center, September 2026).

5. Lusha: best for an extension and a 50-tool MCP server

lusha homepage

Lusha is a contact data platform with a Chrome extension, CRM apps, a REST API and an MCP server. An email costs 1 credit, a phone number 5, and a contact with both costs 7 through one API request (Lusha API guide, September 2026).

Every user gets an API key on every plan, including Free. The limits are small on low plans. Free and Starter allow 40 requests a minute and 100 a day. Pro allows 50 a minute and 1,500 a day, and Premium allows 300 a minute and 18,000 a day. Bulk requests take at most 100 contacts, so a million-row pull is 10,000 calls.

The MCP server has 50 tools at https://mcp.lusha.com and shares the credit pool with the REST API (Lusha MCP tools, September 2026). That is the widest tool list here, and it includes tables, CRM export and call search that LeadOcean does not offer.

Pros

  • An API key on every plan, with MCP on the same credit pool.
  • A 50-tool MCP server that reaches beyond lookup.
  • Native Salesforce, HubSpot and Pipedrive apps and a Chrome extension.
  • Credits roll over up to 2x on monthly Pro and Premium.

Cons

  • A phone number costs 5 credits, so 600 Pro credits cover 120 numbers.
  • Daily API caps on Free, Starter and Pro stop scheduled jobs.
  • Yearly plans grant credits upfront and reset them at the end of the cycle.
  • No public 1M price: the top public tier is 10,000 credits a month.

Best for: teams that want one vendor for the extension, the CRM apps and an agent connection, at a few thousand contacts a month.

Pricing: Free is $0 for 40 credits a month. Starter is $49.90 a month ($37.45 billed yearly) for 400 credits. Pro is $69.90 for 600 credits. Premium is $399.90 a month ($299.95 billed yearly) for 3,400 credits (Lusha pricing, September 2026). No public 1M price: the top public tier is Premium at 10,000 credits for $977.40 a month, and Scale is custom.

6. Kaspr: best for LinkedIn-first reps who need phones

Kaspr is a LinkedIn-first contact finder sold per user, with separate phone, direct email and export credits. Paid plans have unlimited B2B email credits under a fair-use policy, and the phone and direct email allowances are small (Kaspr pricing, September 2026).

The API is the weak point for volume buyers. Access is on request from Starter up, and not on Free. Starter allows 20 requests an hour and 250 a day, and Business allows 250 an hour and 500 a day. Each API call spends a credit for the data type plus one export credit. The API starts from a LinkedIn profile URL (Kaspr help center, September 2026).

We found no MCP server on Kaspr's pricing, API docs or help pages (Kaspr API docs, October 2026). Kaspr suits the same reps who use Surfe's extension, not the engineers who leave it.

Pros

  • Unlimited B2B email credits on paid plans, subject to fair use.
  • Credits roll over and are shared across the account on paid plans.
  • Strong fit for phone numbers pulled from LinkedIn profiles.
  • Add-on packs bring the phone credit down to $0.21 at 100,000 credits on the yearly plan.

Cons

  • API access is on request and capped at 250 or 500 requests a day.
  • Every API call also spends an export credit, and exports are capped at 12,000 a year on Starter.
  • No MCP server listed, and no public company or search endpoint.
  • No public 1M price.

Best for: reps who live on LinkedIn and need phone numbers more than an API.

Pricing: Free costs nothing and has 15 B2B email credits and 5 phone credits a month. Starter is $65 per user a month billed monthly (EUR 59 in the default euro view). Business is $99 (Kaspr pricing, September 2026). No public 1M price: the top public tier is Business, with 30,000 exports a year and 500 API requests a day.

How to choose

  • You call an API or an agent at volume: LeadOcean, then Hunter if you only need name plus domain lookups.
  • You want the cheapest published 1M price: Hunter's Data Platform at $6,900, one purchase. LeadOcean is $499 a month flat if you need people and company search too.
  • You need mobiles on a short list: FullEnrich, and budget 10 credits per mobile.
  • Your reps want an extension and CRM sync, plus some API: Prospeo or Lusha. Pick Lusha if you want the 50-tool MCP server.
  • Your reps work from LinkedIn profiles and need phones: Kaspr.
  • You need a rep workspace with sequences or a dialer: none of these replace one. Keep your sequencer and swap only the data source.

Verdict

LeadOcean wins for developers, agent builders and anyone at volume, because the fee is flat and the limit is 100 requests per second. Hunter wins for the cheapest published price per lookup when you already have names and domains. FullEnrich wins for mobile coverage on short lists. Prospeo wins for a small team that wants an extension and an API. Lusha has the widest MCP tool list, and Kaspr suits LinkedIn-first phone work. If your reps depend on Surfe's extension, CRM sync and buying signals, keep Surfe for them and add a flat-fee API for the pipeline.

FAQ

What is the best Surfe alternative for developers?

LeadOcean. It has a REST API and a 12-tool MCP server on every plan, 100 requests per second per key and a flat $499 a month Pro plan. Surfe lists its API under Enterprise and limits it to 10 requests a second per user.

Is there a free Surfe alternative?

Several have free plans. LeadOcean gives 1,000 records one-off with no card, Hunter gives 50 credits a month, Lusha gives 40 and Prospeo gives 100. Surfe's own Free plan has 240 email credits and 60 mobile credits a year.

Which Surfe alternative has an MCP server?

LeadOcean, Hunter, FullEnrich, Prospeo and Lusha all have one. Lusha's has 50 tools and Prospeo's has 8. We found none listed for Kaspr, and Surfe's is in beta.

Which alternative is cheapest at 1M records a month?

On published prices, LeadOcean at $499 a month flat is lowest, and Hunter's Data Platform is $6,900 once. FullEnrich, Lusha and Kaspr publish no 1M price. Prospeo's cheapest public path is $14,456 a month.

Which Surfe alternative has a Chrome extension?

Hunter, Prospeo, Lusha and Kaspr each ship one. LeadOcean has no extension and no CRM sync. It is an API, an MCP server and an app with an Exports page.

Do these tools charge for emails they cannot find?

Mostly no. Hunter, FullEnrich and Prospeo charge nothing for a miss. LeadOcean's person enrich miss is a free 404, but a miss on a v2 contact endpoint costs one record. Lusha's own docs disagree, so confirm with Lusha before you budget for misses.
