Tomba alternatives

6 Best Tomba Alternatives in 2026 (Compared)

Six email finders and data APIs for teams that pull records in code, through an agent or at volume, ranked by fit, with list prices and the cost of 1M records a month.

Get your free API key →Free to start. No credit card. 1,000 records to spend whenever you like.

People leave Tomba when the job grows from looking up named people to pulling lists in volume. Its email finder takes a name and a company domain (Tomba docs, September 2026). The credit count is double the emails: Growth lists 10,000 credits, but 5,000 are finder credits and 5,000 are verification credits (Tomba pricing, September 2026). Self-serve plans also cap API calls per day. Growth allows 1,000 email finder requests a day and Pro 4,000. Limits come off at Pro Plus (Tomba rate limits, September 2026). The 14 endpoints on its API page include no people search by title or seniority (Tomba API, September 2026).

This page ranks six alternatives for API and volume buyers. LeadOcean is first because it is a searchable database with one flat price, REST and an MCP server. For plans and credit costs, read Tomba pricing.

"1M records" here means 1M work-email lookups that return a result, one credit each where the vendor uses credits. Figures are list-price arithmetic from each vendor's pricing page, in USD. Where a vendor sells no plan at 1M, the cell shows its top public tier or cheapest public path, not a price. Tomba is the tool this page replaces, so it is not in the table. Its paid plans start at Basic, $49 a month for 5,000 total credits (Tomba API page, September 2026).

What we evaluated

  • API access: how you call it, which plan opens it, and the default rate limit.
  • MCP: whether an agent can search or enrich through the server, and how it signs in.
  • Price model: flat, credits or seats, and what 1M records a month costs at list price.
  • Email quality controls: stored status, live verification and what a miss costs.
  • Limits that bite: plan ceilings, daily caps, bulk row limits and fair-use clauses.

We read each vendor's pricing page and docs in September 2026. We ran no find-rate or accuracy test for this page, so we quote no quality numbers of our own. Tomba publishes its own 5,000-lead test on its homepage. It is a vendor claim, and we did not rerun it.

1. LeadOcean: best for API, agent and volume buyers

LeadOcean is one dataset behind one REST API and one MCP server. It holds 693M people, 366M with an email and 166M with a phone number, plus 63M companies. You search with 50 people filters and 34 company filters, and counts are free. So you can build a list by job function, seniority and country, then pull the emails in the same place.

The price does not move with volume. Pro is $499 a month with unlimited searches, enrichments and lookups, 5 API keys and 100 requests per second per key. There are no credits and no overage invoice. A very large month is paced down to one request a minute until the reset, not cut off. More headroom is one email to support. At 100 requests a second, 1M calls take about 2.8 hours.

bash
curl -s -G "https://api.leadocean.io/v2/people/email/work" \
  -H "x-api-key: $LEADOCEAN_API_KEY" \
  --data-urlencode "person_id=1234567890"

The call above is a placeholder id. Get real ids from GET /v1/companies/{domain}/people or a people search. Phones are at GET /v2/people/phone. The MCP server at https://api.leadocean.io/mcp signs in with OAuth 2.1 and exposes 12 tools, from search_leads to find_phone and export_leads (LeadOcean MCP docs, September 2026). Every person or company returned counts as one record.

Pros

  • Flat $499 a month at any volume, with no credit meter.
  • Search by 50 people filters, then pull emails and phones from the same database.
  • Email status on every record, from verified to spam_trap, and a fetched_at date.
  • REST and MCP on every plan, including Free. A miss on POST /v1/people/enrich is a free 404.

Cons

  • No name plus domain lookup. You search by domain first, then enrich by person_id. That is the opposite of how Tomba's finder works.
  • No live check against the mail server at lookup time. You read the stored email_status and decide what to send.
  • A miss on the v2 contact endpoints costs one record. It sits inside the flat price, but it is not free.
  • No Chrome extension, sequencer or CRM. The app has an Exports page with a filter builder and CSV download.

Best for: engineers, RevOps and agents that need search, emails and a fixed bill at volume.

Pricing: Free is 1,000 records, one-off, no card. Pro is $499 a month, flat (LeadOcean pricing, September 2026).

2. Anymail Finder: best for verified emails and no rate limit

Anymail Finder is the closest swap for Tomba's core job. Give it a name and a company, and get a verified email. The API docs list person, company, decision-maker and LinkedIn lookups, bulk search and verification (Anymail Finder API docs, September 2026). They list no phone endpoint and no people search by filter.

The meter is simple. A person email costs 1 credit, a decision maker 2, and company emails 1 credit for up to 20 addresses. Searches that find no verified email are free, and a repeat search within 30 days is free (Anymail Finder pricing, September 2026). Credits are one per found email, with no halving into verification credits. Unlimited team members share one pool.

The docs state no rate limits and no daily call caps, which answers Tomba's per-day ceilings. Bulk jobs take up to 100,000 rows. The MCP server at https://api.anymailfinder.com/mcp has five actions. They find a person email, a decision maker or company emails, verify an email and check your account (Anymail Finder MCP, September 2026). Assistants sign in through the browser, with no API key.

Pros

  • No API rate limits and no daily call caps, per its docs.
  • One credit is one found email, and a miss is free.
  • A verified email that bounces can be reported for a credit back after review.
  • One-time packs up to 1,000,000 credits, valid 12 months, with no subscription.

Cons

  • No phone endpoint and no database search, so you need another tool to build the list.
  • Prices show in Canadian dollars to visitors in Canada. The USD view is ?currency=usd.
  • The MCP server covers five actions and not bulk files or webhooks.

Best for: teams that already hold names and domains and want verified emails with no request cap.

Pricing: Monthly plans run from $29 for 400 credits to $799 for 100,000 credits. Yearly billing cuts the price by 33% and delivers credits upfront (Anymail Finder pricing, September 2026).

3. Icypeas: best for the cheapest monthly credits at volume

Icypeas is an email finder and verifier with a credit meter that gets cheap at scale. Every plan includes API, MCP and credit roll-over. The monthly ladder starts at Basic, $19 for 1,000 credits, and reaches Hypergrowth, $499 for 100,000 credits, which is $0.00499 a credit (Icypeas pricing, September 2026).

The volume tiers sit in the Hypergrowth credit selector. 1,000,000 credits cost $3,992 a month, or $0.003992 a credit. 10,000,000 cost $34,930. Billed yearly, 12M credits cost $39,920, which is $3,326.67 a month. Prices are plus VAT. An email search costs 1 credit per found email, and a search that finds nothing costs nothing (Icypeas credit costs, September 2026).

Email search runs at 10 calls a second. Bulk search runs at 1 call a second with up to 5,000 rows per call (Icypeas rate limits, September 2026). That is the practical route at volume. The hosted MCP server at https://mcp.icypeas.com/mcp signs in with your API key and has 21 tools (Icypeas MCP guide, September 2026).

Pros

  • The lowest per-credit list price of the credit tools here, at $0.003992 for 1,000,000 credits a month.
  • Unused credits roll over with no expiry and no cap on stacking.
  • API and MCP on every plan, with a 21-tool MCP server.
  • Email verification costs 0.1 credit.

Cons

  • Credits are a meter, so cost rises with every email you find.
  • Single email search is capped at 10 calls a second, so 1M single calls take about 28 hours.
  • Phone Finder is listed as coming soon. No phone endpoint to buy today.
  • No free plan, only 50 free credits on signup.

Best for: teams that buy valid emails by the hundred thousand and want the cheapest credits.

Pricing: Basic $19, Premium $39, Advanced $89, Hypergrowth $499 a month. Billed yearly: $190, $390, $890 and $4,990 a year (Icypeas pricing, September 2026).

4. Hunter: best for domain lookups with outreach attached

Hunter is an email finder with outreach tools attached, priced in credits. One credit is one email found, and verifying an email costs half a credit. Its homepage shows 150,430,313 email addresses verified (Hunter, September 2026). It is an email index, not a people and company database.

The free plan gives 50 credits a month. Starter is $49 a month ($34 billed yearly) for 2,000 credits. Growth is $149 for 10,000. Scale is $299 a month ($209 billed yearly) for 25,000 credits (Hunter pricing, September 2026). The pricing page opens on the yearly view, so check which set of prices you read. For volume, the Data Platform sells API and bulk credits separately. 1,000,000 Search credits cost $6,900, paid once and valid 12 months (Hunter Data Platform, September 2026).

Email Finder and Domain Search allow 15 requests a second and 500 a minute, per endpoint and not per plan. A rate-limited call returns 403, and a usage-limit call returns 429 (Hunter API docs, September 2026). At 500 a minute, 1M calls take about 33 hours. The official MCP server at https://mcp.hunter.io/mcp takes a Hunter API key in a header and is included in all plans (Hunter MCP, September 2026).

Pros

  • Limits are documented per endpoint, and 15 a second is well above Tomba Growth's 5.
  • MCP server included in every plan at no extra cost.
  • One-off Data Platform credits at $0.0069 each, valid 12 months.
  • Unlimited team members share one credit pool.

Cons

  • Scale stops at 25,000 credits a month, so volume means packs or the Data Platform.
  • Monthly credits do not carry over. Yearly and Data Platform credits last 12 months.
  • Two price sets on one page: $49, $149 and $299 monthly against $34, $104 and $209 yearly.
  • Credit packs cap per purchase, at 180,000 credits on Scale.

Best for: teams that find emails by domain and send from the same tool.

Pricing: Free. Starter $49, Growth $149, Scale $299 a month, or less billed yearly (Hunter pricing, September 2026).

5. LeadMagic: best for valid emails through REST, CLI and MCP

LeadMagic is a credit-based enrichment API with 400M+ people and 25M+ companies. You reach it through REST, a command-line tool and a hosted MCP server (LeadMagic, September 2026). A valid email costs 1 credit, a mobile costs 5, and a miss on Email Finder is free (LeadMagic pricing, September 2026).

The monthly ladder is Essential at $99 for 5,000 credits, Growth at $249 for 20,000, Professional at $499 for 50,000 and Ultimate at $849 for 100,000. That is $0.00849 a credit on Ultimate. Billed yearly, the plans cost ten times the monthly price for twelve months of credits. There is no free plan, only a 14-day money-back guarantee on the first payment (LeadMagic trials and plans, September 2026).

Email Finder allows 600 requests a minute. The docs add a fair-use clause: a sustained find rate below 10% can lead to throttling, suspension or termination, even with prepaid credits (LeadMagic Email Finder docs, September 2026). The MCP server exposes 43 tools and accepts OAuth sign-in only, with no static API keys (LeadMagic MCP, September 2026).

Pros

  • Also searches people, companies and jobs, which Tomba's finder endpoints do not.
  • No charge when an email is not found.
  • Hosted MCP server with 43 tools.
  • Seats share one pool: 3 on Essential up to 20 on Ultimate.

Cons

  • No public price at 1M a month. Self-serve plans stop at 100,000 credits.
  • A minimum find-rate policy can throttle lists with poor match rates.
  • Top-up prices are not published, and credit rollover is capped at 2x the monthly allocation.
  • OAuth only on MCP, so a headless agent cannot use a static key.

Best for: teams that enrich a few hundred thousand valid emails a month and want search in the same product.

Pricing: Essential $99, Growth $249, Professional $499, Ultimate $849 a month (LeadMagic pricing, September 2026).

6. Prospeo: best for reps who want an extension

Prospeo sells an email and mobile finder per user, on credits, with a REST API, a Chrome extension and an MCP server. One verified email costs 1 credit and one mobile costs 10. A Search API request that returns results costs 1 credit and returns up to 25 results with no contact data (Prospeo help center, September 2026).

Plans are priced per user. Free has 100 credits a month. Starter is $49 per user a month ($37 billed yearly), Growth is $99 and Pro is $249 (Prospeo pricing, September 2026). Free-plan API access is unclear: the pricing table shows none, and the help center lists limited access at 50 requests a day (Prospeo plans overview, September 2026). Enrich API limits are 5 a second and 2,000 a day on Starter, and 30 a second and 500,000 a day on Pro (Prospeo rate limits, September 2026).

Add-on credits stop at 350,000 a month or 500,000 a year, and extended pricing is on request (Prospeo add-on help, September 2026). The MCP server at mcp.prospeo.io has 8 tools and signs in with OAuth 2.0 or an API key (Prospeo MCP docs, September 2026).

Pros

  • Search filters plus enrichment in one product.
  • Chrome extension for reps who work in the browser.
  • A miss costs no credit, and re-enriching the same record within 90 days is free.
  • MCP with OAuth 2.0 or an API key.

Cons

  • Per-user pricing, so a team adds seats and credits together.
  • Credits expire at the end of each cycle, and add-ons need a paid plan.
  • Search returns no contact data, so you pay a second time to enrich.
  • The most expensive route to 1M here: $14,456 a month, or $11,223 once billed yearly.

Best for: reps and small teams that want an extension and pay-as-you-go emails.

Pricing: Free. Starter $49, Growth $99, Pro $249 per user a month (Prospeo pricing, September 2026).

Sources are linked in each tool section, all checked in September 2026. Vendors change plans often, so confirm on the pricing page before you buy. The 1M column is list-price arithmetic on email lookups. Anymail Finder's and Hunter's figures are one-off purchases valid 12 months, not monthly bills. LeadMagic sells no plan at 1M a month, so its cell shows the top public tier. Prospeo's path is 44 Pro seats at $249 plus the 350,000-credit add-on at $3,500 for 1,010,000 credits. Billed yearly it is 3 Pro seats plus the 500,000-credit yearly add-on, $11,223 once.

How to choose

  • You pull data in code or with an agent, at volume: LeadOcean. One flat price, search plus emails, REST and MCP on every plan.
  • You hold names and domains and hit Tomba's daily caps: Anymail Finder. Its docs state no rate limits.
  • You buy valid emails by the hundred thousand and want the lowest credit price: Icypeas, at $3,992 a month for 1,000,000 credits.
  • You look up emails by domain and send from the same tool: Hunter.
  • You want search and enrichment in one credit product: LeadMagic, and mind the find-rate clause.
  • Your reps live in a browser extension: Prospeo, and budget per user.
  • You need verified emails at low volume, and Tomba's credits fit: stay on Tomba. Its misses are free and its slider starts at 5,000 credits.
  • You are also weighing Tomba's plans: read Tomba pricing first.

Verdict

LeadOcean wins for API, agent and volume buyers. It is the only tool here that searches 693M people, returns emails and phones from the same database, and charges one flat price. Anymail Finder wins for named lookups with no rate limit, and Icypeas wins for the lowest credit price at 1M. Hunter suits domain lookups with outreach attached, LeadMagic suits teams that want search and enrichment in credits, and Prospeo suits reps who want an extension. Tomba stays the simple choice for a known list at low volume. Otherwise start on the free plan and compare the same lookups.

FAQ

Why do teams leave Tomba?

Cost shape and caps. Credits are split between finder and verification, so a 10,000-credit plan finds 5,000 emails (Tomba pricing, September 2026). Self-serve plans cap requests per day, and the bulk email finder takes 10,000 rows a job (Tomba bulk docs, September 2026). The finder needs a name and a domain.

What is the cheapest Tomba alternative at 1M records a month?

At 1M records a month, LeadOcean at $499 flat is cheapest on list price. Icypeas lists 1,000,000 credits at $3,992 a month. Anymail Finder sells a 1,000,000-credit pack for $4,990 once. Hunter sells 1,000,000 Search credits for $6,900 once on its Data Platform. LeadMagic has no public 1M price. Prospeo's cheapest public path is $14,456 a month.

Does Tomba have an MCP server, and do the alternatives?

Yes. Tomba documents 38 MCP tools at mcp.tomba.io/mcp (Tomba docs, September 2026). All six alternatives have one too. LeadOcean's has 12 tools and covers search, enrichment, phones and export. Compare the tools each server exposes before you choose.

Which Tomba alternative has no API rate limit?

Anymail Finder's docs state no rate limits and no daily call caps (Anymail Finder API docs, September 2026). LeadOcean caps each key at 100 requests per second on every plan. Tomba removes its limits only from Pro Plus up.

Can I use LeadOcean with Tomba?

Yes. Use LeadOcean to build the list by filter and pull the emails it holds. Then send the names and domains you already have to Tomba for a lookup. LeadOcean has no name plus domain lookup, so Tomba fills that gap.

Do I need a credit card to try LeadOcean?

No. The free plan needs a work email and no card. It gives you 1,000 records, one-off, with the same API and MCP server as Pro. See pricing.
