Find Phone Number is a Claude skill that returns the phone numbers LeadOcean holds for one named person. It costs 1 record when you already have a LinkedIn URL or email.

What it does

You tell Claude who you want to call. Give a LinkedIn URL, a work email, or a name plus a company domain. The skill returns every number on file, each with its type (mobile, direct or office) and its priority, best first.

It answers about a person you can already name. It does not discover people in bulk. If LeadOcean holds no number, the skill says so and stops. It never guesses one.

It runs on the LeadOcean MCP server, so there is no API key to paste. You sign in once with OAuth.

How it works

The skill is a SKILL.md file. It tells Claude which tools to call and in what order.

  1. With a LinkedIn URL or email, Claude skips to step 4.
  2. count_leads checks that a person with that name and a phone exists at the domain. Free.
  3. search_leads with hasPhone: true and limit: 5 lists the matches. 1 record per person returned. Claude keeps the person_id of the right row.
  4. find_phone takes the LinkedIn URL, email or person_id and returns the numbers. 1 record.
  5. Claude prints the table. If has_phone is false, it prints "No phone number on file."

If LeadOcean rejects a filter value, Claude calls list_enum_values (free) for the exact string.

How to use it

  1. Download the zip: Download find-phone-number.zip
  2. Unzip it and add the find-phone-number folder as a skill in Claude.
  3. Connect LeadOcean at https://api.leadocean.io/mcp and sign in.
  4. Ask: "Find the phone number for jane-doe on LinkedIn", or "Find a phone number for Jane Doe at acme.com".

You need a LeadOcean account. The free plan gives you 1,000 records, one-off, no card.

Sample output

The free sizing step works on any domain. We ran count_leads on stripe.com with jobLevel set to VP and hasPhone set to true. We ran it again with all 13 email statuses, so the result does not depend on email quality.

The count shows how many people you could look up. The numbers themselves need find_phone, which spends a record.

Output format (placeholder values)

This is the shape Claude replies in. The name, company and numbers are placeholders, not a real record. The first line is a heading in Claude's reply.

FAQ

What does Find Phone Number need from me?

One identifier for one person: a LinkedIn URL, a work email, or a name plus a company domain. A LinkedIn URL is the cheapest, at 1 record.

What if no number is on file?

The skill says "No phone number on file." It does not retry with a different guess. Claude shows what it spent.

Can it run on a list of people?

Run it once per person. For a list, use the Exports page in the app at app.leadocean.io: filter builder, column picker, price preview and CSV download.
