ICP Qualifier is a Claude skill that checks one company against your ideal customer profile. It compares the company record with your criteria and returns a verdict, a fit table and the buyers worth contacting.

What it does

You give Claude a domain and at least two ICP criteria: industry, headcount range, HQ country, last funding round or website technology. The skill pulls the company from LeadOcean and marks each criterion Match, Miss or Not on file.

The verdict follows fixed rules. Fit means no Miss and at least two Match. Partial means one Miss. No fit means two or more Miss. A field LeadOcean does not hold is never counted for or against the company.

It also sizes your whole ICP market for free, so you see how many mailable buyers sit at companies like this one. If you are still defining the ICP, start with how to build an ICP and the ICP prompt.

How it works

The skill is a SKILL.md file. It tells Claude which tools to call and in what order.

  1. list_enum_values checks industry, funding type and country strings against the exact values LeadOcean accepts. Free.
  2. count_leads sizes your ICP market: mailable buyers at companies that match every criterion. Free.
  3. count_leads with the domain sizes the buyers at this one account. Free.
  4. get_company returns industry, headcount range, HQ country, funding and site technologies. 1 record.
  5. Claude compares each field with your criteria and sets the verdict. No tool call.
  6. search_leads lists the buyers at the domain, for Fit or Partial only. 1 record per person returned. Default 3, maximum 10.

If the verdict is No fit, step 6 is skipped, so a bad account costs 1 record.

How to use it

  1. Download the zip: Download icp-qualifier.zip.
  2. Unzip it and add the icp-qualifier folder as a skill in Claude.
  3. Connect LeadOcean at https://api.leadocean.io/mcp and sign in.
  4. Ask: "Qualify acme.com. ICP: software, 51-200 employees, US, Series A or B."

You need a LeadOcean account. The free plan gives you 1,000 records, one-off, no card.

Sample output

The free steps work on any ICP and any domain. We ran two count_leads calls on 1 October 2026.

QueryMailable peopleRecords spent
Software Development, 51-200 employees, HQ US, C-Team or VP, Sales & Business Development2,7870
stripe.com, C-Team or VP, Sales & Business Development70

list_enum_values confirmed Software Development as an exact industry string. Counts cover mailable people only, which is the count_leads default.

The verdict needs get_company, which spends a record, so no real verdict is pasted here. This is the shape of the reply, with placeholder values.

FAQ

Is this an ICP score?

No. It is a rule-based check with three outcomes. It scores only the fields you name, and it shows every Match and Miss so you can disagree with it.

Can it qualify a list of domains?

Run it once per domain. Each run costs 4 records by default, so ten accounts cost 40. For a bulk pull of every company that fits, use the Exports page in the app at app.leadocean.io.

What if LeadOcean has no value for a field?

The row reads Not on file and does not count toward the verdict. With fewer than two Match or Miss rows, the verdict is Not enough data.
