One prompt turns company size, industry and country into a sized lead list, and you see the count before you spend a record. Connect Claude to https://api.leadocean.io/mcp first. Setup is on the MCP page.
The prompt
Find sales leaders at US software companies with 51 to 500 employees.
1. Call leadocean_list_enum_values for industry and employee_range
and pick the software and headcount values.
2. Call leadocean_count_leads with those industries, employeeRange,
hqCountry US, jobLevel C-Team and VP, and jobFunction
Sales & Business Development.
3. Tell me the count and the exact filters you used.
4. Do not call leadocean_search_leads until I say go.What it resolves to
| Filter | Value |
|---|---|
| industry | Software Development, Computer Software |
| employeeRange | 51-200, 201-500 |
| hqCountry | US |
| jobLevel | C-Team, VP |
| jobFunction | Sales & Business Development |
Enum values are exact strings. Software has seven industry values, so step 1 matters. Headcount is a bracket, which is cheaper than a min and max. Firmographics describe the company (industry, size, location). The title and level filters then pick the person inside it.
How many match
4,692 mailable people matched on 1 October 2026. Filters: industry Software Development or Computer Software, employeeRange 51-200 or 201-500, hqCountry US, jobLevel C-Team or VP, jobFunction Sales & Business Development.
Mailable means verified, catch_all_valid or catch_all, the count_leads default. The count is free. It leaves out the other five software industry values, so the real market is wider. Narrow further at search time with filters the count call does not accept, such as funding or revenue.
What you get back
Search rows carry the fields below. These are placeholder values, not real records.
| Title | Company size | Industry | Country |
|---|---|---|---|
| VP Sales | 51-200 | Software Development | US |
| Chief Revenue Officer | 201-500 | Computer Software | US |
| VP Business Development | 51-200 | Software Development | US |
