Write your ICP as one sentence. Claude turns it into exact filters and counts the people who match before it spends a record. Connect https://api.leadocean.io/mcp first. Setup is on the MCP page.
The prompt
My ICP: operations directors at US logistics companies with 201 to 1,000 employees.
1. Call leadocean_list_enum_values for industry and pick the logistics values.
2. Call leadocean_count_leads with those industries, employeeRange 201-500 and 501-1000,
country US, jobLevel Director and jobFunction Operations.
3. Tell me the count and the exact filters you used.
4. Do not call leadocean_search_leads until I say go.What it resolves to
| Filter | Value |
|---|---|
| industry | Logistics and Supply Chain, Transportation; Logistics; Supply Chain and Storage |
| employeeRange | 201-500, 501-1000 |
| country | US |
| jobLevel | Director |
| jobFunction | Operations |
Enum values are exact strings, which is why step 1 looks them up. A wrong string returns zero, not an error you would notice. "Logistics" alone matches two industry values, so Claude has to pass both.
How many match
365 mailable people matched on 1 October 2026. Filters: industry Logistics and Supply Chain or Transportation; Logistics; Supply Chain and Storage, employeeRange 201-500 or 501-1000, country US, jobLevel Director, jobFunction Operations.
Mailable means verified, catch_all_valid or catch_all, the count_leads default. The count is free and repeatable, so change one filter at a time and watch the total move. A list this small is a real ICP: you can write to all of it by hand.
What you get back
Search rows carry the fields below. These are placeholder values, not real records.
| Title | Company size | Industry | Country |
|---|---|---|---|
| Director of Operations | 201-500 | Logistics and Supply Chain | US |
| Director, Network Operations | 501-1000 | Transportation; Logistics; Supply Chain and Storage | US |
| Director of Fulfillment Operations | 201-500 | Logistics and Supply Chain | US |
Variations
- Change the buyer: "VP of Supply Chain, jobLevel VP, jobFunction Supply Chain & Logistics", then count again.
- Tighten the size: "only employeeRange 501-1000" to test a larger ICP.
- Swap the market: "country GB" and ask Claude to show both counts side by side.
Records it spends
The enum lookup and the count are free. leadocean_search_leads costs 1 record per person returned, so a limit of 25 costs 25 records. Free gives you 1,000 records one-off with no card. Pro is $499 a month. See pricing.
