SalesIntel is a human-verified B2B contact platform sold on annual, quote-only contracts. LeadOcean is a self-serve data API you call over REST or MCP at $499 a month, cancel any time. If you pull people and companies in code or through an agent, LeadOcean is cheaper and easier to predict. If your reps live in a web app and want human-checked mobile numbers, stay with SalesIntel.
Why teams switch from SalesIntel
No public price and an annual term
The SalesIntel pricing page lists no dollar figures and tells buyers to contact the team for a quote (SalesIntel pricing, September 2026). Vendr reports a median of $17,599 a year, with deals from $8,670 to $41,380, a 12-month standard term and 5 to 10 percent renewal increases (Vendr, updated February 2026).
"Unlimited" comes with a cap per user
The pricing page lists unlimited export and enrichment credits per user. The terms of service say a user cannot reveal more than 3,000 companies or contacts a month (SalesIntel terms, September 2026). The cap counts reveals per person, so volume means more seats.
The API is credited and handed out by a team
API credits are consumed per record returned, and your key comes from your success team, not a sign-up form (SalesIntel API docs, September 2026). The docs also say the API suits enrichment and small discovery sets, and thousands of contacts in one request may need another route (SalesIntel API docs).
No MCP server for your agent
SalesIntel's developer docs index lists REST, webhooks and a Snowflake share, and no MCP server (SalesIntel developer docs, September 2026). A review by a competitor says the same (ZoomInfo, May 2026). An agent has to go through your own wrapper around the REST API.

What 1M, 5M and 25M records cost
SalesIntel is priced by quote, so there is no list price per record to multiply. The fair comparison is plans, not credits. The one hard number is the reveal cap: 3,000 per user per month, from the terms of service.
| Records a month | SalesIntel users at the 3,000 cap | SalesIntel a year at $1,500 per user | LeadOcean a year |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1M | 334 | $501,000 | $5,988 |
| 5M | 1,667 | $2,500,500 | $5,988 |
| 25M | 8,334 | $12,501,000 | $5,988. Past fair use, one email raises the headroom. |
This is an illustration, not a quote. The arithmetic is records divided by 3,000, rounded up, times $1,500 (SalesIntel terms, September 2026). That price is the low end of Vendr's reported $1,500 to $3,500 per user for small teams (Vendr, February 2026). No buyer would sign for 8,334 seats at that rate, and volume deals are negotiated. LeadOcean arithmetic: $499 x 12 months.
The API route is different. It bills credits per record returned, and the rate sits in your contract, so we cannot price it. Vendr reports contact overages of $0.50 to $2.00 per contact (Vendr, February 2026).
SalesIntel does not publish a price per API credit, or a different price for human-verified and machine-verified records. Both sit in your order form, so ask sales before you budget an API build (SalesIntel developer docs, October 2026).
Where LeadOcean wins
A public flat price
Pro is $499 a month and Free gives you 1,000 records with no card. Every person or company returned counts as a record, but there is no credit balance to watch and no seat cap. A very large month is paced down to one request a minute until the reset, and one email to support raises the headroom.
Volume through code
Search people with 50 filters and companies with 34, across 254 countries and 534 industries. Counts are free, and POST /v1/exports returns up to 50,000 rows per request. The limit is 100 requests per second per key on every plan, against 30 a second per user at SalesIntel.
Built for agents
The same data is reachable over REST and over MCP, and both ship on the Free plan. Send one request and get a profile, an email status and, with reveal_email, every email and phone number we hold, for one record.
curl -X POST "https://api.leadocean.io/v1/people/enrich" \
-H "x-api-key: $LEADOCEAN_API_KEY" \
-H "content-type: application/json" \
-d '{"linkedin_url":"https://www.linkedin.com/in/jane-doe","reveal_email":true}'For Claude or Cursor, add the MCP URL https://api.leadocean.io/mcp and sign in with OAuth. No key gets pasted into a chat.
A larger dataset on the numbers we publish
LeadOcean holds 693M people, 366M of them with an email and 166M with a phone number, plus 63M companies. SalesIntel states 200M+ contacts and 54M+ verified mobiles. The counts are not like for like, because SalesIntel verifies by hand and we make no accuracy claim against it.
Where SalesIntel wins
Human-verified contacts
SalesIntel says its contacts are checked by researchers, with 95% accuracy and a 90-day refresh cycle, and it offers Research on Demand for gaps (SalesIntel, September 2026). Those are vendor claims we have not tested. The API lets you filter to human-verified records only, which LeadOcean has no equivalent for. If a wrong mobile number costs you a rep's afternoon, that matters.
Intent, ads and a web app
SalesIntel sells intent data, ad targeting, website visitor identification and a web app your reps log into, with a success manager and quarterly reviews (SalesIntel pricing, September 2026). LeadOcean is a data API with an export app, not a sales suite and no intent. A team of ten reps that wants one login should look at SalesIntel.
Snowflake delivery and native integrations
SalesIntel can share its data into your Snowflake account, so you query it without API calls or CSV files (SalesIntel docs, September 2026). It also lists native Salesforce and HubSpot integrations. LeadOcean delivers through the API, MCP and CSV export.
Use both: LeadOcean for volume, SalesIntel for the accounts that matter
You can keep SalesIntel small and still build large lists. Build the top of the funnel in LeadOcean, and spend SalesIntel reveals only where a human-verified mobile number is worth it. That also keeps each user well under the 3,000 reveal cap.
- Create a free LeadOcean key at app.leadocean.io/register. The free plan needs no card.
- Size your audience with
count_leads, which is free, then pull it withPOST /v1/exportsor the MCPsearch_leadstool. - Send the shortlist of named accounts to SalesIntel for human-verified direct dials, and use its preview endpoint to check a match before you spend credits.
FAQ
Is LeadOcean a full SalesIntel replacement?
No. It replaces SalesIntel as a data source, not as a sales platform. If you need human-verified mobiles, intent data or a web app for reps, keep SalesIntel. If you need people, companies and emails in code or an agent, LeadOcean is enough.
How much does SalesIntel cost?
SalesIntel does not publish prices. Vendr reports a median of $17,599 a year, with deals from $8,670 to $41,380 (Vendr, February 2026). Intent data and API volume are priced on top.
Does SalesIntel have an API or an MCP server?
It has a REST API with company, contact and technographic endpoints, webhooks and a Snowflake share. The developer docs list no MCP server (SalesIntel developer docs, September 2026). API credits are per record returned.
Can I use SalesIntel data with an AI agent?
Through your own wrapper around the REST API, yes, if your contract allows it. SalesIntel's terms bar extracting its materials with crawlers, bots, scripts or agents, so ask whether your API licence covers agent use. Section 1.5(c) bars automated access such as crawlers, bots, scripts or intelligent agents. SalesIntel does not say publicly how that applies to API or MCP use (SalesIntel terms, October 2026).
Can I use both SalesIntel and LeadOcean?
Yes. Build lists in LeadOcean at a flat price and keep SalesIntel for accounts where you want human-verified mobiles. The steps are in the section above.
What does LeadOcean cost, and do I need a credit card?
Free gives you 1,000 records, one-off, with no card and a work email. Pro is $499 a month, flat, with no credits and no per-record price. Past the fair-usage line a very large month is paced down, and support can raise the headroom.
