A catch-all email verifier checks addresses on domains that accept mail for every name, then grades the risk instead of returning "unknown". If you send outbound at volume, or you build agents that write to a CRM, this is the check that decides your bounce rate.
No tool can prove a mailbox exists on an accept-all domain. The useful ones add a second signal: a score, a "safe" verdict or a probability band. Read what a catch-all email is and how catch-alls work first if the term is new. Then use our catch-all verification guide for the workflow.
We ranked seven tools on documented behavior, because no vendor publishes a catch-all accuracy test you can reproduce. We did not run a bounce test for this page. Several of these tools have their own pages too: Icypeas, FullEnrich, BetterContact, Hunter and LeadMagic.
TL;DR
| Tool | Best for | Starting price | Cost at 1M records a month |
|---|---|---|---|
| Icypeas | Cheap catch-all checks over API and MCP | $19 a month ($15.83 yearly) | $499 a month list, $415.83 yearly |
| ZeroBounce | Cleaning a list you already own | $99 a month, or $39 once for 2,000 checks | $3,199 once, pay as you go |
| FullEnrich | Finding emails with a catch-all bounce band | $29 a month ($26 yearly) | No public 1M price |
| BetterContact | Waterfall finding with an optional safe verdict | $15 a month ($12.50 yearly) | No public 1M price |
| LeadOcean | Pulling people with the catch-all status attached | Free. Solo $97 a month | $497 a month (Agency). Does not verify your own list |
| Hunter | Domain search with an accept-all flag | Free. Starter $49 a month ($34 yearly) | $2,800 once, Data Platform |
| LeadMagic | Cheap checks where unknowns are free | $99 a month ($83 yearly) | No public 1M price |
The 1M column assumes one million email checks. Where a tool bills per lookup, it assumes one million lookups. List prices, with the yearly figure after the monthly one.
What we evaluated
- Catch-all handling. What you get back for an accept-all address: a status, a score, a probability band, an extra "safe" verdict, or only "unknown".
- Price per check. Whether a catch-all check costs more, whether "unknown" results are free, and what a check costs at 1M a month.
- API and rate limit. Whether you can call it in code, and how fast before you hit a limit.
- MCP. Whether an agent can call it through a hosted MCP server.
- Fit. Whether it verifies a list you already hold, or finds new addresses and grades them as it goes.
1. Icypeas: best for cheap catch-all checks over API and MCP
Icypeas puts catch-all verification on every plan, including the $19 Basic plan. Its pricing page lists it as a plan feature next to API access and credit roll-over (Icypeas pricing, September 2026). Icypeas says it validates catch-all addresses on Google and Microsoft domains. We did not test that claim (Icypeas, September 2026).
A verifier check costs 0.1 credit, and an email search costs 1 credit per found email (Icypeas credit costs, September 2026). That makes it the lowest cost per check on this list. At 1M checks you need 100,000 credits. The 100,000-credit tier is $499 a month, or $415.83 a month billed yearly, plus VAT (Icypeas pricing, September 2026).
Rate limits are 10 calls a second on email verification (Icypeas rate limits, September 2026). That is 600 checks a minute per key. For 1M checks that is about 28 hours of continuous calls, so plan a batch job. A hosted MCP server at https://mcp.icypeas.com/mcp has 21 tools and signs in with your API key (Icypeas, September 2026).
Pros
- Catch-all verification on every plan, with no add-on.
- 0.1 credit per check is the cheapest unit price here.
- Hosted MCP server with 21 tools.
- Credits roll over with no expiry.
Cons
- 10 calls a second caps big lists. Expect hours, not minutes.
- No free plan. New accounts get 50 credits, which is 500 checks.
- The catch-all claim for Google and Microsoft is the vendor's own.
Best for: teams that clean large lists in code or from an agent and want the lowest unit cost.
Pricing: Basic $19 a month for 1,000 credits ($15.83 yearly). Hypergrowth $499 a month for 100,000 credits (Icypeas pricing, September 2026).
2. ZeroBounce: best for cleaning a list you already own
ZeroBounce is a dedicated verifier, and it treats catch-all as a second step. Validation marks the address. A separate scoring tool then rates each catch-all from 1 to 10 on how likely the mailbox is active (ZeroBounce email scoring, October 2026). Scoring costs 1 credit per address on top of the validation credit.
That design is honest. ZeroBounce says outright that no one can validate a catch-all outright, and it sells a score instead. You only pay for scoring on the catch-all subset of your list. It never charges for "unknown" results (ZeroBounce pricing, October 2026).
Pay as you go starts at $39 for 2,000 checks. The 1,000,000-credit package is $3,199 once, which is $0.003199 a check, from the pricing page data (ZeroBounce pricing, October 2026). Its llms.txt lists no MCP server (ZeroBounce llms.txt, October 2026). The validation API allows 80,000 requests in 10 seconds, or 100,000 for ZeroBounce ONE customers, and blocks for 1 minute above that (ZeroBounce API docs, October 2026).
Pros
- Catch-all scoring from 1 to 10 gives you a ranking, not a binary call.
- Unknown results are never charged.
- 100 free validation credits a month on the Freemium plan.
- Clear pay-as-you-go pricing up to 1M.
Cons
- Scoring is a separate paid step.
- No MCP server in its llms.txt.
- It verifies and scores only. It does not find emails or people.
Best for: marketers and ops teams who hold a list and want to rank its catch-all rows.
Pricing: pay as you go from $39 for 2,000 credits, or ZeroBounce ONE at $99 a month for 10,000 credits. The annual toggle is listed at 20% off (ZeroBounce pricing, October 2026).
3. FullEnrich: best for finding emails with a catch-all bounce band
FullEnrich finds emails through a waterfall of 25+ sources and puts every address through what it calls triple verification. It returns four statuses: deliverable, high probability, catch-all and invalid. High probability means a catch-all address that looked valid on its checks (FullEnrich email status, October 2026).
FullEnrich prints a bounce rate for each band: 2% for deliverable and 9% for high probability. Plain catch-all has a higher rate, with no number given. These are the vendor's own figures. We did not test them. They are still rare in this category, because most tools give you no rate at all.
A work email costs 1 credit, including a high-probability or catch-all result (FullEnrich credits, September 2026). The API allows 60 calls a minute, with up to 100 contacts per bulk request (FullEnrich rate limits, September 2026). API, MCP and bulk CSV are on every plan (FullEnrich pricing, September 2026).
Pros
- Four statuses, with a stated bounce rate for the first two.
- MCP and API on every plan, including the free trial.
- A catch-all result that clears its checks gets its own band.
- Credits are not charged when nothing is found.
Cons
- It is a finder. We found no standalone endpoint for cleaning a list you hold.
- Catch-all results are charged like other emails.
- 60 calls a minute is slow without the bulk endpoint.
- No public price at 1M.
Best for: teams that need new work emails and a bounce band on each one.
Pricing: Pro from $29 a month for 500 credits ($26 yearly). The top monthly tier is 100,000 credits at $3,500, and above that you contact sales (FullEnrich pricing, September 2026). No public price at 1M.
4. BetterContact: best for waterfall finding with an optional safe verdict
BetterContact runs a waterfall of 20+ providers and includes verification by Bouncer. By default a catch-all domain returns catch_all. If you turn on verify_catch_all in the enrich request, you get catch_all_safe or catch_all_not_safe instead (BetterContact enrich docs, October 2026).
That layer comes with the plan, not as a priced add-on. The pricing page lists catch-all verification on Pro and Enterprise, not on Starter, at no extra charge (BetterContact pricing, October 2026). Billing follows the setting: catch-alls are charged when the layer is off, and only catch_all_safe is charged when it is on (BetterContact credits, October 2026).
An email plus verification costs 1 credit, charged on valid results only. Rate limits are 100 requests a minute on Starter and 200 on Pro, and bulk enrich takes up to 100 leads a call (BetterContact rate limits, September 2026). We found no MCP server in its docs index.
Pros
- A clear safe or not-safe verdict for catch-all domains.
- You pay for catch-alls only when they come back safe.
- Verification by Bouncer is included.
- Free signup with 50 credits.
Cons
- The catch-all layer is not on Starter. It starts on Pro at $49 a month.
- No MCP server found.
- 100 requests a minute on Starter.
- No public price at 1M.
Best for: outbound teams that want a waterfall and only pay for catch-alls judged safe.
Pricing: Starter $15 a month for 200 credits ($12.50 yearly). Pro from $49 for 1,000 credits (BetterContact pricing, September 2026). No public price at 1M. The top public step is 50,000 credits at $1,999.
5. LeadOcean: best for pulling people with the catch-all status attached
LeadOcean does not verify a list you bring. It is a people and company database with 693M people, 366M with an email, and 67M companies. Each email arrives with a status, so you choose your own risk line before you send. That makes it a catch-all tool for buyers who still need the list.
Two of the 13 statuses matter here. catch_all_valid means the mailbox was confirmed on a domain that accepts everything. catch_all means the mailbox is unproven. Send to verified first, then treat the two catch-all statuses as a second wave. LeadOcean does not refund bounced emails, so read the status.
The free counter leadocean_count_leads defaults to verified, catch_all_valid and catch_all. It counts a list at no cost, so you see how many catch-all rows you carry before you pull any. Search accepts the same filter:
curl -X POST https://api.leadocean.io/v1/people/search \
-H "x-api-key: $LEADOCEAN_API_KEY" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"jobLevel":["VP"],"emailStatus":["verified","catch_all_valid"],"limit":25}'The MCP server at https://api.leadocean.io/mcp signs in with OAuth 2.1 and exposes 13 tools (LeadOcean docs, October 2026). Rate limits are 5 requests a second on Free, 50 on Solo and 200 on Agency, per account.
Pros
- Status on every email, including a mailbox-confirmed catch-all tier.
- Free counts, so you size the catch-all share first.
- Agency is $497 a month flat, with no per-check meter.
- REST and a 13-tool MCP server on the free plan.
Cons
- It cannot verify an email list you already hold.
- Bulk CSV export is not on Free.
- It has no sequencer or CRM. It returns data.
- No refund for bounces.
Best for: API, agent and volume buyers who need new people and want the catch-all risk visible per row.
Pricing: Free $0 for 1,000 records. Solo $97 a month, Agency $497, Platform $1,997. Paid plans have a fair-use pace, not credits (LeadOcean pricing, October 2026).
6. Hunter: best for domain search with an accept-all flag
Hunter's Email Verifier returns one of six statuses, and accept_all is one of them. It means the address is valid but the server accepts any address. The response also carries an accept_all boolean and a deliverability score (Hunter API docs, October 2026).
For addresses its Email Finder returns, Hunter says the score estimates the probability that an accept-all address is valid. Domain Search can filter by verification_status for valid, accept_all or unknown. That filter lets you pull the catch-all rows on purpose, or skip them.
A verification costs 0.5 credit on the all-in-one plans. On the API-only Data Platform, verification credits are sold on their own. The calculator prices 1,000,000 of them at $0.0028 each, so $2,800 once, valid for 12 months (Hunter Data Platform, October 2026). The Email Verifier runs at 10 calls a second and 300 a minute. A hosted MCP server is at https://mcp.hunter.io/mcp (Hunter MCP, September 2026).
Pros
- A documented
accept_allstatus and flag. - A search filter that selects or skips accept-all rows.
- Hosted MCP server included on every plan.
- Cheap verification credits at volume.
Cons
- The score covers accept-all addresses only through the finder.
- 300 verifications a minute is slow for 1M.
- Monthly plan credits do not roll over.
- Rate-limited calls return 403, which is easy to misread.
Best for: teams that already find contacts by domain and want the accept-all flag on each.
Pricing: Free with 50 credits a month. Starter $49 a month for 2,000 credits ($34 yearly). Verification credits on the Data Platform start at $11 for 1,000 (Hunter pricing, September 2026).
7. LeadMagic: best for cheap checks where unknowns are free
LeadMagic has no catch-all status. When a domain accepts all mail and the mailbox cannot be checked, the result is unknown and free. The docs say to resolve those addresses later or route them through Email Finder (LeadMagic email validation, October 2026).
That is a fair design if you want zero spend on rows you cannot judge. It is a weak one if you want a score. You get a clean valid or invalid on normal domains. On catch-all domains you get nothing to rank.
Validation costs 0.25 credit, and unknown results cost nothing. It runs at 600 requests a minute (LeadMagic email finder docs, September 2026). The top public tier is 100,000 credits, which covers 400,000 checks, so there is no public price at 1M. It has a hosted MCP server with OAuth sign-in only.
Pros
- Unknown results, including catch-all mailboxes, are free.
- 0.25 credit per paid check.
- 600 validations a minute.
- Hosted MCP server.
Cons
- No catch-all status, score or flag.
- No free plan. It starts at $99 a month.
- OAuth only on MCP, no static key.
- No public price at 1M.
Best for: teams that only want to pay for definitive answers and handle catch-alls elsewhere.
Pricing: Essential $99 a month for 5,000 credits ($83 yearly). Ultimate $849 a month for 100,000 credits (LeadMagic pricing, September 2026).
Comparison table

| LeadMagic | Cheap checks, free unknowns | $99 a month ($83 yearly) | No public 1M price | Yes | Yes, OAuth only | 600 a minute |
Sources are linked in each tool section, checked in September and October 2026. Vendors change plans often, so confirm on the pricing page before you buy. LeadOcean's 1M figure buys 1M records of people you do not hold yet. It is not a verification price.
How to choose
- You hold a list and want the cheapest clean-up in code: Icypeas. At 0.1 credit a check and catch-all verification on every plan, it is the lowest-cost route.
- You want a ranked catch-all list for marketing sends: ZeroBounce. The 1 to 10 score lets you cut the bottom of the list and keep the top.
- You need new emails with a stated bounce band: FullEnrich. Its deliverable and high-probability bands give you two thresholds to send on.
- You want a waterfall and a safe verdict: BetterContact, on Pro or above.
- You build outbound from scratch through an API or agent: LeadOcean. Pull
verifiedfirst, then the catch-all tiers, and size both free. - You already search by domain: Hunter. Filter on
accept_allto isolate the risky rows. - You want to pay only for certain answers: LeadMagic. Handle its free unknowns with a second tool.
- Test before you commit: run the same 500 addresses through two tools, send a small batch from each and compare bounces.
Verdict
For catch-all handling alone, Icypeas is our pick for API and agent buyers: it has catch-all verification on every plan, the lowest unit cost and a hosted MCP server. ZeroBounce wins for anyone cleaning a marketing list, because its score ranks catch-alls instead of lumping them. FullEnrich wins for finders that want a printed bounce band, and BetterContact wins if you want a safe verdict inside a waterfall. LeadOcean wins when you still need the people: it carries the catch-all status on each row and counts the list free, but it will not clean a list you bring. Pick Hunter for domain search and LeadMagic when you only want to pay for certain answers.
FAQ
Can any tool verify a catch-all email for certain?
No. A catch-all domain accepts mail for every name, so a server check cannot prove the mailbox exists. The tools above add a second signal, such as a score, a safe verdict or a probability band. That reduces risk without removing it.
Should I email catch-all addresses?
Yes, in a second wave. Send to verified addresses first and measure your bounce rate. Then add the catch-all rows that carry a good score or a safe verdict, in small batches.
Which catch-all verifier is cheapest?
Icypeas has the lowest published unit price here, at 0.1 credit a check. At 1M checks it lists $499 a month (Icypeas pricing, September 2026). ZeroBounce lists $3,199 once for 1M credits. Hunter's calculator gives $2,800 once.
Do verifiers charge for unknown results?
Some do not. ZeroBounce never charges for unknown results, and LeadMagic makes unknown results free, including catch-all mailboxes it cannot check. Hunter bills a verification at 0.5 credit. Check the credit docs before you run a big list.
Which tools have an MCP server?
Icypeas, FullEnrich, LeadOcean, Hunter and LeadMagic have hosted MCP servers. We found none for BetterContact or ZeroBounce in the docs we read. Sign-in differs: Icypeas and Hunter use an API key, LeadMagic uses OAuth only, and LeadOcean uses OAuth 2.1.
Is LeadOcean a catch-all verifier?
Not for a list you bring. LeadOcean returns a status on each email it holds, including catch_all_valid and catch_all, and counts lists for free. Use it to build the audience, and use a verifier for lists from other sources.
