A LinkedIn email finder takes a profile, a name or a LinkedIn URL and returns that person's work email. Developers, RevOps teams and AI agents need one that works in code. Most tools in this category were built as Chrome extensions first and added an API later.
That shows in the limits. Kaspr caps API calls per hour. ContactOut sells its API through a meeting. Prospeo bills per seat. Hunter starts from a domain, not a profile. Findymail hides its plans behind a bot check.
We compared six tools on LinkedIn input, API, MCP server, rate limits and cost at 1M lookups a month. We did not run a find-rate test, so no hit rates appear below. Every competitor figure links to its source, checked in September 2026.
TL;DR
| Tool | Best for | Starting price | Cost at 1M records a month |
|---|---|---|---|
| LeadOcean | API and agent buyers who need volume | Free: 1,000 records, one-off. Solo $97 a month | Agency $497 a month, no per-record price |
| Prospeo | Reps who want an extension plus an API | Starter $49 a month ($37 billed yearly) | $14,456 a month, or $11,223 once for the year |
| Hunter | Domain-first email finding and verification | Starter $49 a month ($34 billed yearly) | $6,900, one purchase on Data Platform |
| ContactOut | Recruiters and reps working inside LinkedIn | Email plan $49 a month ($39 billed yearly) | No public 1M price |
| Kaspr | European LinkedIn prospecting with phones | Starter $65 per user a month | No public 1M price |
| Findymail | Verified emails pushed to a sequencer | Not published in a readable form (pricing page) | No public 1M price |
Prices are USD, monthly list price first, billed-yearly figure after it. LeadOcean prices are on leadocean.io/pricing.
What we evaluated
- LinkedIn input. Can you send a profile URL, or does the tool need a name and a domain first?
- API and MCP. Is there a public REST API on self-serve plans, and a hosted MCP server an agent can call?
- Rate limits. How many requests a second, minute or hour can one key send before it stalls?
- Price at volume. What does 1M lookups a month cost at public list prices? If no public price reaches 1M, we say so and do not multiply a rate out.
- Cost of a miss. Do you pay when no email is found? Is there a bounce refund?
We read each vendor's pricing page, API docs and help center in September 2026. Where a page blocked us, we link it and say so instead of guessing.
1. LeadOcean: best for API and agent buyers
LeadOcean is a people and company data API with a hosted MCP server. POST /v1/people/enrich takes a linkedin_url and, with reveal_email set to true, returns the email. The same call works from an agent through the MCP server at https://api.leadocean.io/mcp, with OAuth sign-in and no key pasted into a chat.
The database holds 693M people, 366M of them with an email, and 67M companies. Every record carries one of 13 email_status values, from verified to spam_trap, so you filter before you send. An enrichment that finds nobody is a 404 and costs nothing. Phone numbers come from GET /v2/people/phone.
curl -X POST "https://api.leadocean.io/v1/people/enrich" \
-H "x-api-key: $LEADOCEAN_API_KEY" \
-H "content-type: application/json" \
-d '{"linkedin_url":"https://www.linkedin.com/in/jane-doe","reveal_email":true}'LeadOcean is not a browser tool. It has no Chrome extension and no rep workspace. The app at app.leadocean.io has an Exports page for CSV downloads, and that is the only interface.
Pros
- One call from a LinkedIn URL to an email, over REST or MCP, on every plan including Free.
- Flat pricing: no credits, no per-record price, no overage invoice. Paid plans have a fair-use pace.
- Search 50 people filters, size a list for free, then export up to 50,000 rows a file on Agency.
- Rate limit scales by plan: 5 requests a second on Free, 50 on Solo, 200 on Agency.
Cons
- No Chrome extension, so reps cannot click through LinkedIn profiles.
- No bounce refund or credit-back. Read
email_statusbefore sending. - The v2 contact endpoints cost one record per call, even on a miss. Plain enrich does not.
- Bulk CSV export is not on Free.
Best for: engineers, RevOps teams and agents that pull LinkedIn-sourced emails at volume.
Pricing: Free $0 (1,000 records, one-off, no card), Solo $97 a month, Agency $497 a month, Platform $1,997 a month. See LeadOcean pricing, checked October 2026.
2. Prospeo: best for reps who want an extension and an API
Prospeo sells emails and mobiles on credits, per user. A verified email costs 1 credit, a mobile costs 10 with the email included, and a company costs 1. A lookup that returns nothing costs 0, and re-enriching the same record within 90 days is free (Prospeo help center, September 2026).
It has a REST API and a hosted MCP server at mcp.prospeo.io with 8 tools, using OAuth 2.0 or an API key (Prospeo MCP docs, September 2026). There is a Chrome extension on every plan (Prospeo pricing, September 2026). See our full Prospeo alternative page.
The cost problem is volume. No single plan reaches 1M credits. The cheapest public path is 44 Pro seats plus the 350,000-credit add-on. Credits also expire at the end of each cycle.
Pros
- Chrome extension and API on paid plans, so reps and engineers share one vendor.
- Pay nothing for a lookup with no result.
- Hosted MCP server with 8 tools.
- Clear per-credit prices from $0.0245 on the paid plans, published for every tier.
Cons
- Priced per seat, and credits expire each cycle.
- Enrich rate limits are 5 a second on Starter and Growth, 30 on Pro (Prospeo rate limits, September 2026).
- Free-plan API access is unclear: its pricing table and help center disagree.
Best for: small sales teams that want a LinkedIn extension and a modest API.
Pricing: Free $0 (100 credits a month), Starter $49 a month for 2,000 credits, Growth $99 for 5,000, Pro $249 for 15,000. Billed yearly, Starter is $37 a month. At 1M credits: $14,456 a month on monthly billing, or $11,223 once for the year (Prospeo pricing, September 2026).
3. Hunter: best for domain-first finding and verification
Hunter finds an email from a name and a company domain, then verifies it. It is not a LinkedIn tool at its core. The Chrome, Firefox and Edge extension is how most people use it next to a LinkedIn profile (Hunter homepage, September 2026). See our Hunter alternative page.
The API is the most predictable here. Domain Search, Email Finder and Enrichment allow 15 requests a second and 500 a minute. A rate-limited call returns 403, and 429 means you ran out of credits (Hunter API docs, September 2026). There is an official MCP server at mcp.hunter.io/mcp, included in all plans (Hunter MCP, September 2026).
For large volume, Hunter is the cheapest priced path in this list that has a public 1M figure. Its Data Platform sells 1,000,000 Search credits for $6,900 as a one-off purchase, valid 12 months (Hunter Data Platform, September 2026).
Pros
- Credits are charged per email found. No result, no charge.
- Public price at 1M, and a bulk finder up to 50,000 rows a file.
- Official MCP server on every plan.
- Verification built into the finder, plus a separate verifier at 0.5 credit.
Cons
- Starts from a name and domain, not a LinkedIn profile.
- Monthly credits do not carry over.
- Extra credit packs are for Starter, Growth and Scale only. Data Platform is a separate product.
Best for: teams that already have names and company domains and want verified emails.
Pricing: Free $0 (50 credits a month), Starter $49 a month for 2,000 credits ($34 billed yearly), Growth $149, Scale $299 (Hunter pricing, September 2026). At 1M: $6,900 on Data Platform.
4. ContactOut: best for recruiters and reps inside LinkedIn

ContactOut is LinkedIn-first. The Chrome extension is the core product, with a free tier of 5 emails, 5 phones and 5 exports a day (ContactOut pricing, September 2026). See our ContactOut alternative page.
The self-serve plans say unlimited, but the terms cap fair use at 2,000 email credits and 1,000 phone credits per account per month (ContactOut terms, September 2026). Every plan lists a one-user-per-company limit. The API has no public price and keys come from booking a meeting (ContactOut API, September 2026).
ContactOut has an MCP server with 15 tools (ContactOut MCP page, September 2026). It also states three different coverage numbers across its pages: 350M, 600M+ and 800M profiles. We quote none of them.
Pros
- The strongest browser workflow on LinkedIn in this list.
- Low entry price for one person.
- API rate limits are generous: 1,000 a minute on most endpoints, 60 a minute on People Search.
- MCP server with 15 tools.
Cons
- No public API price. You book a meeting for a key.
- The unlimited plans carry a 2,000 email fair-use cap per account.
- One user per company on self-serve plans.
Best for: recruiters and individual reps who live in LinkedIn.
Pricing: Email plan $49 a month ($39 billed yearly), Email + Phone $99 a month ($79 billed yearly) (ContactOut pricing, September 2026). No public 1M price.
5. Kaspr: best for European LinkedIn prospecting with phones
Kaspr is a Chrome extension that runs on LinkedIn, Sales Navigator and Recruiter Lite, sold per user. B2B email credits are unlimited on paid plans under a fair-use policy. Phone and direct-email credits are metered (Kaspr pricing, September 2026). See our Kaspr alternative page.
The API starts from a LinkedIn profile URL. Sales Navigator URLs do not work, and API access is on request on paid plans (Kaspr help center, September 2026). Each API call also spends an export credit. Starter allows 20 requests an hour and 250 a day. Business allows 250 an hour and 500 a day.
That is a ceiling of about 15,000 API calls a month on the top public plan. We found no MCP server on its pricing page, API page or API help article.
Pros
- The API input is a LinkedIn URL, which is what this category needs.
- Unlimited B2B email credits on paid plans, subject to fair use.
- Phone credits sold as add-ons from $0.36 down to $0.21 each.
- Free plan with 15 B2B email credits a month.
Cons
- API limits of 20 to 250 requests an hour make bulk work impractical.
- Export caps: 12,000 a year on Starter, 30,000 on Business.
- No MCP server found, and no public 1M price.
Best for: reps and recruiters prospecting on LinkedIn, mostly in Europe, who need phone numbers.
Pricing: Free $0, Starter $65 per user a month ($49 shown in page markup for yearly billing, but not offered as a purchase option), Business $99 per user a month (Kaspr pricing, September 2026).
6. Findymail: best for verified emails pushed to a sequencer
Findymail verifies each email at the moment you ask and returns only verified results. One email costs 1 credit, a phone number costs 10, and nothing is charged when no verified email is found (Findymail API docs, September 2026). See our Findymail alternative page.
It has a Chrome extension, a bulk finder and one-click push to Instantly, Smartlead, Lemlist and Woodpecker (Findymail homepage, September 2026). The REST API uses Bearer auth and allows 300 concurrent requests. The official MCP server has 14 tools (Findymail Cursor plugin, September 2026).
We cannot read its pricing page, which blocks automated access, so we quote no plan price and no 1M figure. Phone lookups return US numbers only.
Pros
- Every email is verified when requested.
- No charge for a miss.
- Official MCP server with 14 tools.
- Direct push to common cold-email sequencers.
Cons
- Pricing is not machine-readable. Check Findymail's pricing page.
- Phone numbers are US only and cost 10 credits.
- Lead search is a plain-language query, with no structured filters.
Best for: outbound teams that send from Instantly or Smartlead and want verified emails only.
Pricing: Not quoted here: the pricing page blocks automated reads. No public 1M price (Findymail pricing, September 2026).

How to choose
- You call an API or an agent at volume: LeadOcean. One flat price and a LinkedIn URL in, email out.
- You have names and domains, not profiles: Hunter, with the public $6,900 price at 1M.
- Your reps work inside LinkedIn: ContactOut or Kaspr. Pick Kaspr for European phone numbers.
- You want an extension and an API from one vendor: Prospeo, if your volume stays small.
- You send from Instantly or Smartlead: Findymail, after you check its plan prices.
- You are not sure: start with a free plan. LeadOcean's 1,000 records are one-off and cover both REST and MCP.
Verdict
LeadOcean wins for anyone who pulls LinkedIn emails in code, through an agent or at volume, because the bill stays flat. Hunter wins on a public price at 1M when you start from domains. ContactOut and Kaspr win for people who work in a browser on LinkedIn. Prospeo fits small teams that want both. Findymail fits sequencer-first teams, once you confirm its prices.
