Findymail is an email finder that verifies each address when you ask for it. It bills one credit per email found. LeadOcean is a people and company database you call over REST or MCP at one flat price. If you need verified emails for a sequencer at modest volume, Findymail is a good fit. If you need millions of records in code or an agent, LeadOcean costs far less.
Why teams switch from Findymail
The bill grows with every email
Findymail charges one Finder credit per email found and 10 per phone number (Findymail API docs, September 2026). Plans are sized in credits, so cost rises in a straight line with volume.
No price you can plan a large pull against
Findymail's pricing page blocks automated reading, so we do not quote its plans or a 1M-record price. Check Findymail's pricing page for current plans. A buyer who needs 1M records a month should ask Findymail for a quote.
It finds contacts, it does not filter a database
Findymail lead search is Intellimatch, a plain-language query capped at 5,000 companies per search (Findymail API docs, September 2026). There are no structured filters in the docs. If you want to segment by job function, seniority, funding or technology, you need a filter API.
Phone numbers are narrow
The phone endpoint returns US numbers only and returns nothing for EU citizens (Findymail API docs, September 2026). Each number costs 10 credits. If your list is global, most phone lookups will come back empty.

What 1M, 5M and 25M records cost
Findymail prices per email found, so cost scales with volume. LeadOcean Pro stays at $499 a month. We cannot read Findymail's pricing page, so its column says "Not published" instead of an estimate.
| Records a month | Findymail at list price | LeadOcean |
|---|---|---|
| 1M | Not published. Ask Findymail for a quote. | $499 a month. |
| 5M | Not published. Ask Findymail for a quote. | $499 a month. |
| 25M | Not published. Ask Findymail for a quote. | $499 a month. Past fair use, one email raises the headroom. |
Phone numbers cost 10 credits each, so a phone-heavy pull costs ten times the email figure. Emails that are not found cost nothing, so your real total tracks your hit rate (Findymail API docs, September 2026). For current plans, see Findymail's pricing page.
Where LeadOcean wins
A flat bill at any volume
Pro is $499 a month. Every person or company returned counts as a record, but there is no credit balance to watch and no overage invoice. A very large month is paced down to one request a minute until the reset, not cut off. One email to support gets you more headroom.
A real database you can filter
LeadOcean holds 693M people and 63M companies. You filter people with 50 filters and companies with 34, across 254 countries and 534 industries. Counts are free, so you size an audience before you pull a single record.
Built for code and agents, and the same data in both
The same data is reachable over REST and over MCP. The Free plan includes both, so you can test the whole thing before paying. One request returns a profile, email status and, with reveal_email, every email and phone number we hold, for one record.
curl -X POST "https://api.leadocean.io/v1/people/enrich" \
-H "x-api-key: $LEADOCEAN_API_KEY" \
-H "content-type: application/json" \
-d '{"linkedin_url":"https://www.linkedin.com/in/jane-doe","reveal_email":true}'For Claude or Cursor, add the MCP URL https://api.leadocean.io/mcp and sign in with OAuth. No key gets pasted into a chat.
Export and company depth at database scale
Export up to 50,000 rows per request with POST /v1/exports, so a 1M-row pull is 20 calls over two days. List the people at one company with GET /v1/companies/{domain}/people, up to 10,000 rows. Findymail returns at most 5 contacts per employee call.
Where Findymail wins
Verified at the moment you ask
Findymail verifies every email in real time and advertises a bounce guarantee on its pricing page (Findymail pricing). LeadOcean gives you email_status on every record, and you decide what to send. It has no bounce refund or credit-back, so read email_status before sending.
You pay only for what is found
A Findymail lookup that finds no verified email costs nothing. LeadOcean enrich is the same, but the v2 contact endpoints cost one record per call, including a call that finds nothing. For a list with a low hit rate on those endpoints, Findymail is cheaper per found email.
The outbound workflow around it
Findymail has a Chrome extension and a bulk finder. It pushes contacts to Instantly, Smartlead, Lemlist and Woodpecker, and Signals tracks job changes and new hires (Findymail homepage, September 2026). LeadOcean has none of that.
At low volume Findymail can also cost less than Pro. Check Findymail's pricing page for current plans.
Use both: LeadOcean for volume, Findymail as the last check
You do not have to choose. Pull and filter in LeadOcean, then send only the uncertain emails through Findymail's verifier. A check costs one verifier credit (Findymail API docs, September 2026).
- Create a free LeadOcean key at app.leadocean.io/register. Run
count_leadsfirst, because counts are free. - Pull people with
POST /v1/exportsand keep theverifiedrows as they are. Set aside thecatch_allandcatch_all_validrows. - Send the set-aside emails to Findymail's
POST /api/verifywith your Bearer token. Load only the ones that returnverified: trueinto your sequencer.
FAQ
Is LeadOcean a full Findymail replacement?
No. It replaces Findymail as a data source, not as an outbound tool. If you need the Chrome extension, Signals or an advertised bounce guarantee, keep Findymail. If you need people, companies and emails in code or an agent at volume, LeadOcean is enough.
Does Findymail have an API or an MCP server?
Both. The REST API uses Bearer auth and allows 300 concurrent requests (Findymail API docs, September 2026). The official MCP server has 14 tools and works in Cursor with browser sign-in (Findymail Cursor plugin).
How much does Findymail cost at high volume?
Not published. Findymail's pricing page blocks automated reading, so we quote no Findymail price. Check Findymail's pricing page or ask for a quote at 1M credits a month.
Does Findymail guarantee deliverability?
Findymail advertises a bounce guarantee on its pricing page (Findymail pricing). LeadOcean has no bounce refund or credit-back. It returns one of 13 email_status values on every record so you can filter before you send.
What does LeadOcean cost, and is there a limit?
Free gives you 1,000 records, one-off, with no card. Pro is $499 a month, flat, with no credits and no per-record price. Past the fair-usage line a very large month is paced down instead of cut off, and support can raise the headroom.
Do I need a credit card to try it?
No. The free plan needs a work email and no card, and it has the same API and MCP server as Pro. Your 1,000 records last until you spend them.
