Best phone number finder tools for recruiters

7 Best Phone Number Finder Tools for Recruiters (2026)

Seven phone number finders ranked for recruiters by monthly volume, price model, API access and seats, with the list price at 1M records where one exists.

Get your free API key →Free to start. No credit card. 1,000 records to spend whenever you like.

A phone number finder returns a direct dial or mobile number for a person from a name, a LinkedIn URL or an email. Recruiters need one when a candidate ignores InMail and email, and a call is the next step.

The tools differ on four things. How many phones a plan buys. Whether it bills per seat or per credit. Whether there is an API for your ATS. How many recruiters can share one account. We ranked seven tools on those limits, from published pricing and docs read in September 2026. We ran no hit-rate test, so we publish no find rate.

The extension-first tools come first: ContactOut and Lusha. LeadOcean is third because it has no extension, but it is the cheapest way to pull phones at volume. RocketReach, Kaspr, FullEnrich and Apollo follow. For the wider category, see the general phone finder list.

What we evaluated

  • Phones per plan. How many mobile numbers the cheap plans buy, and whether a lookup that finds nothing is charged.
  • Price model. Per seat, per credit or flat, because a recruiting team grows by adding people.
  • Seats. How many recruiters can share one account, and whether the plan limits users.
  • API access. Whether a key exists on the plan and what it takes as input: LinkedIn URL, email or ID. This decides whether an ATS sync is possible.
  • Volume. What 1M records a month costs, using only published prices, and the rate limit that sets how fast a batch runs.

1. ContactOut: best for a recruiter who sources on LinkedIn

contactout homepage

ContactOut is a LinkedIn-first email and phone finder with a Chrome extension. For one recruiter it is the cheapest phone plan in this list. Email + Phone is $99 a month on monthly billing, or $79 a month billed yearly, with unlimited phones and 600 exports a month (ContactOut pricing, September 2026).

"Unlimited" has a ceiling. The terms cap paid plans at 1,000 phone credits per account a month under fair use (ContactOut terms, September 2026). Every self-serve plan also lists one user per company, so a team of five cannot buy five seats on the cheap plan.

A team needs the Team / API tier, which has no public price. API keys come from booking a meeting. The limits are 60 requests a minute on People Search and 1,000 a minute on most other endpoints (ContactOut API docs, September 2026). There is also an MCP server with 15 tools (ContactOut MCP, September 2026).

Pros

  • Unlimited phones on Email + Phone, within a 1,000 a month fair use cap.
  • A LinkedIn extension that fits how recruiters already work.
  • A free plan with 5 phones a day, so you can test it.
  • A 15-tool MCP server.

Cons

  • One user per company on self-serve plans.
  • The API and team tier have no public price and need a meeting.
  • Its own pages state different coverage numbers: 350M, 600M+ and 800M profiles.

Best for: one recruiter who works from LinkedIn and wants a flat monthly fee.

Pricing: Email + Phone $99 a month ($79 billed yearly). Email only $49 ($39). Regional plans for outside the US are cheaper (ContactOut pricing, September 2026).

2. Lusha: best for small teams that want seats and an API

lusha homepage

Lusha sells credits per plan and puts seats in the box. A phone number costs 5 credits and an email 1. Email plus phone is 7 credits through a single API request (Lusha API guide, September 2026).

Starter is $49.90 a month for 400 credits and 1 seat, which is about 80 phones. Pro is $69.90 for 600 credits with 2 seats. Premium is $399.90 for 3,400 credits with 5 seats, expandable to 25 (Lusha pricing, September 2026). Credits roll over on monthly plans.

Every plan has an API key, including Free. The MCP server has 50 tools and shares the REST credit pool (Lusha MCP tools, September 2026). Free and Starter allow 100 API requests a day, and Premium allows 18,000.

Pros

  • Seats are part of the plan: 2 on Pro, 5 on Premium.
  • An API key on every plan and a 50-tool MCP server.
  • A browser extension on the same credit pool.

Cons

  • 5 credits per phone keeps Starter to about 80 numbers a month.
  • Free and Starter cap the API at 100 requests a day.
  • Lusha's docs disagree on whether a no-match API request is charged (Lusha billing FAQ, September 2026). Test it on your key.

Best for: a team of two to five recruiters who want a shared pool and a key for the ATS.

Pricing: Starter $49.90 a month ($37.45 billed yearly), Pro $69.90 ($52.45), Premium $399.90 ($299.95). Scale is custom (Lusha pricing, September 2026).

3. LeadOcean: best for recruiting tech, agents and bulk phone pulls

LeadOcean is a data API with a hosted MCP server. It holds 693M people, and 166M of them have a phone number. You call GET /v2/people/phone, or the find_phone tool over MCP, and the number comes back (LeadOcean pricing, October 2026).

The price is flat per plan, not per seat or per credit. Phones and bulk CSV export are on Solo and Agency. Free is 1,000 records for life at 5 requests a second. Solo is $97 a month at 50 requests a second. Agency is $497 a month at 200 requests a second, with 5 keys. Every person returned counts as one record, and a paid plan is paced down past its fair-use line, not cut off.

Person enrich also returns career history: past roles, education, certifications and awards. That helps a recruiter judge a candidate before the call. The hasPhone filter keeps a search to people we hold a number for, and leadocean_count_leads sizes the list for free.

LeadOcean is not a rep tool. There is no extension, dialer, sequencer or CRM. The app at app.leadocean.io has an Exports page with a filter builder, a column picker, a price preview and a CSV download.

Pros

  • Phones are included on Solo and Agency, with no per-phone credit.
  • 13 MCP tools, including find_phone, over OAuth with no key pasted.
  • 200 requests a second on Agency and 10,000 on Platform.
  • Career history on person enrich, and a free count before you spend a record.

Cons

  • A v2 contact call that finds nothing still costs one record.
  • No browser extension, dialer or ATS plugin. You build the sync.
  • Bulk CSV export is not on Free.

Best for: developers, agent builders and recruiting teams that pull phones in code or at volume.

Pricing: Free $0, Solo $97, Agency $497, Platform $1,997 a month (LeadOcean pricing, October 2026). The step-by-step is in how to find a recruiter's phone number.

4. RocketReach: best for a published credit table

RocketReach publishes what each action costs in Universal Credits. A phone is 6 credits, a professional email 2 and a personal email 3. Nothing is charged when no data is found, and re-lookups of the same profile are free while the plan is active (RocketReach credit docs, September 2026).

Phone lookups start on Pro, reported at $119 a month on monthly billing with 250 exports a month. Ultimate is reported at $209 with 1,000 exports (G2, September 2026). RocketReach's own pricing page showed a bot check on the day we looked, so these prices are reported by G2, not read first-party. We could not verify billed-yearly prices, so we leave them out.

API access is set up through the API team. The global limit is 10 requests a second, with monthly person lookup caps from 5,000 to 200,000 (RocketReach rate limits, September 2026). The MCP server has 9 tools over OAuth 2.1 (RocketReach MCP docs, September 2026).

Pros

  • A clear credit table with the price of a phone per action.
  • No charge for a miss, and free re-lookups.
  • A 9-tool MCP server and 10 requests a second.

Cons

  • No public dollar price per credit or API plan price.
  • Plan prices come from G2 while the pricing page is blocked.
  • Pro allows 250 exports a month, about 250 phones.

Best for: teams that want to estimate credit use from a published table.

Pricing: Essentials $69, Pro $119, Ultimate $209 a month on monthly billing, as reported by G2 (G2, September 2026).

5. Kaspr: best for one LinkedIn profile at a time

Kaspr starts from a LinkedIn profile. Each successful API call spends one credit for the data type plus one export credit (Kaspr API help, September 2026). B2B emails are unlimited on paid plans under fair use. Phones are metered.

Starter is $65 per user a month with 100 phone credits. Business is $99 per user with 200. Billing is per user, so a team of five on Business is $495 a month for 1,000 phones. The page opens in euros, and we list dollars (Kaspr pricing, September 2026).

The API is on request, paid plans only. Starter allows 20 requests an hour and 250 a day. Business allows 250 an hour and 500 a day. That cap is the real limit for any batch work, and we found no MCP server listed.

Pros

  • Unlimited B2B emails on paid plans, under fair use.
  • Credits roll over and are shared across the account.
  • Phone add-on credits fall to $0.21 in the largest pack.

Cons

  • API access is on request and not on Free.
  • 500 API requests a day on Business is about 15,000 a month.
  • Per-user billing makes a large team expensive.

Best for: a recruiter who looks up one LinkedIn profile at a time and lives in a browser.

Pricing: Starter $65 per user a month, Business $99. Annual figures of $49 and $79 sit in the page markup but are not shown as purchasable (Kaspr pricing, September 2026).

6. FullEnrich: best for paying only for a mobile that is found

FullEnrich runs a lookup across 25+ data sources and returns the first match it can verify. A mobile costs 10 credits, a work email 1. A lookup that finds nothing, or returns a landline, costs 0 (FullEnrich credit docs, September 2026).

Users are unlimited on every plan, which suits a growing team. API, MCP, search and bulk CSV are on every plan, including the free trial. Pro starts at $29 a month for 500 credits, which is 50 mobiles. At $55 a month the plan holds 1,000 credits, about 100 mobiles (FullEnrich pricing, September 2026).

The ceiling is the rate limit: 60 calls a minute across Enrich, Reverse Email and Search, with up to 100 contacts per bulk request (FullEnrich volume docs, September 2026).

Pros

  • No charge when a lookup finds nothing.
  • Unlimited users on every plan.
  • API and MCP on every plan, including the free trial.

Cons

  • 10 credits per mobile keeps the $29 plan to 50 numbers a month.
  • 60 calls a minute is slow without bulk requests.
  • Monthly tiers stop at 100,000 credits ($3,500), then it is sales.

Best for: teams that want one lookup to try many sources and pay only for a match.

Pricing: Pro starts at $29 a month for 500 credits, $26 a month billed yearly. The trial is 50 credits (FullEnrich pricing, September 2026).

7. Apollo: best for recruiters who also run outbound sequences

apollo homepage

Apollo is a prospecting app with a database, sequences, a dialer and a Chrome extension. Recruiters who also sell to clients get the most from it. A phone number costs 8 credits and an email 1 (Apollo API pricing, September 2026).

Plans are per seat. Basic is $65 a month for 2,500 credits, about 312 phones. Professional is $99 for 4,000. Organization is $149 for 6,000 with a three-seat minimum (Apollo pricing, September 2026). Credits expire at the end of each cycle.

Every plan includes API access, and paid enrichment allows 1,000 requests a minute (Apollo rate limits, September 2026). The official MCP server works on any plan, including Free (Apollo MCP docs, September 2026). At volume the seat model gets costly: 1M emails at 4,000 credits per Professional seat means 250 seats.

Pros

  • Sequences and a dialer sit next to the data.
  • API and MCP on every plan, including Free.
  • 1,000 enrichment requests a minute on paid plans.

Cons

  • 8 credits per phone is the highest phone cost here after FullEnrich.
  • Credits are pooled but expire every cycle.
  • Per-seat billing, with a three-seat minimum on Organization.

Best for: recruiters who run candidate outreach and client business development in one tool.

Pricing: Basic $65 per seat a month, $49 billed yearly. Professional $99, $79 billed yearly (Apollo pricing, September 2026).

How to choose

  • You are one recruiter on LinkedIn: ContactOut. The extension is the product, and Email + Phone is the cheapest phone plan here.
  • You are a team of two to five: Lusha for built-in seats, or FullEnrich for unlimited users and no charge for a miss.
  • You need an ATS sync or a sourcing tool: check the API first. LeadOcean, Lusha, FullEnrich and Apollo give a key on every plan. ContactOut and Kaspr gate it.
  • You also do client business development: Apollo, so sequences sit next to the data.
  • You pull candidate phones at volume or from an agent: LeadOcean. The price is per plan, not per seat or per phone.
  • You want to test first: use the free phone number finder, or start on any free plan above.

Verdict

ContactOut wins for the recruiter who lives on LinkedIn, because the extension is the product and the phone plan is cheap for one person. Lusha wins for a small team that needs seats and a key. FullEnrich wins when you want to pay only for a mobile that is found, and Apollo wins when outbound sits next to recruiting. RocketReach suits a team that wants a published credit table, once you confirm its prices first-party, and Kaspr suits a single recruiter. LeadOcean wins for anyone who builds recruiting software, runs an agent or pulls candidate lists at volume. Phones are included, and Agency is a flat $497 a month. If you need an extension, pick one of the others and keep LeadOcean for the bulk data. See the LeadOcean plans.

FAQ

What is the best phone number finder for recruiters?

For one recruiter on LinkedIn it is ContactOut, because it works in the browser. For teams that build tools or run agents, LeadOcean is the better fit. It has REST and MCP on every plan and a flat $497 Agency price with phones included.

How much does a phone number cost per candidate?

It depends on the credit table. A mobile is 5 credits on Lusha, 6 on RocketReach, 8 on Apollo and 10 on FullEnrich. ContactOut Email + Phone is $99 a month, and LeadOcean includes phones in the plan price.

Can a recruiting team share one account?

Some can. Lusha includes 2 to 5 seats, and FullEnrich allows unlimited users. ContactOut lists one user per company on self-serve plans, and Kaspr and Apollo bill per user or seat.

Do these tools have an API for an ATS?

Yes, all seven. Lusha, FullEnrich, Apollo and LeadOcean give a key on every plan. ContactOut keys come from a meeting, Kaspr's API is on request and RocketReach sets up API plans through its API team.

Do any of these work with ChatGPT or Claude?

Six list an MCP server: Lusha (50 tools), ContactOut (15), LeadOcean (13), RocketReach (9), Apollo and FullEnrich. We found none listed for Kaspr in September 2026. Read the tool list first, because some servers only look up one address.

Is there a free way to find a candidate's phone number?

Yes. ContactOut Free gives 5 phones a day and Lusha 40 credits a month. LeadOcean gives 1,000 records for life with no card, and there is a free phone number finder.

Pull candidate phone numbers through an API, with phones included

Free to start. No credit card. 1,000 records to spend whenever you like.
