Developers leave Prospeo's API when the limits arrive before the volume does. Enrichment runs at 5 requests a second on Starter and Growth, with daily caps of 2,000 and 5,000 requests (Prospeo rate limits, September 2026). Search is slower at 1 to 2 requests a second, 25 results a page and 25,000 results per search (Prospeo search docs, September 2026). Bulk enrichment takes 50 records a call.
The price is a meter. One verified email costs 1 credit and a mobile costs 10, on plans priced per user (Prospeo pricing, September 2026).
This page ranks seven alternatives on rate limits, auth, schema, bulk export, MCP and the list price of 1M records a month. LeadOcean is first for anyone who pulls data through an API, an agent or at volume. For a two-column view, read LeadOcean vs Prospeo. For rep-facing tools, see Prospeo alternatives.
TL;DR
| Tool | Best for | Starting price | Cost at 1M records a month |
|---|---|---|---|

| BlitzAPI | Flat-price search and emails by API | Core $399 a month, no emails. Plus $499 adds verified emails | $499 on Plus for accounts opened by September 30, 2026, inside its 15M monthly results limit |
| LeadMagic | Cheap valid emails with a cost preview in MCP | Essential $99 a month for 5,000 credits | No public price at 1M. Top tier is Ultimate, $849 a month for 100,000 credits |

"1M records" here means 1M work-email lookups that return a result, one credit each where the vendor uses credits. Where a vendor sells that volume, the figure is its list price. Where it does not, the cell says so or labels the rate-times-volume arithmetic.
For reference, Prospeo has no plan at 1M. Its cheapest public path on monthly billing is $14,456 a month: 44 Pro seats at $249 plus the 350,000-credit add-on at $3,500, for 1,010,000 credits (Prospeo pricing, September 2026). Billed yearly, 3 Pro seats at $2,241 plus the 500,000-credit yearly add-on at $4,500 cost $11,223 once, for 1,040,000 credits delivered upfront. Add-ons follow the billing period, so yearly seats cannot take a monthly add-on.
The pricing page add-on slider ends at 500,000 credits a year ($4,500, $0.009 a credit) and 350,000 a month ($3,500, $0.01), so no add-on reaches 1M in a month. The help center mentions 3.5M a year on the standard list, which the page does not show, and says extended pricing is enabled on request (Prospeo help center, September 2026).
What we evaluated
- Rate limits: requests a second or a minute, and any daily cap, on the lookup endpoints.
- Auth and schema: the auth header, how a lookup is matched, and what shape comes back.
- Bulk: the largest batch or export a single call can take.
- MCP: whether an agent can search and enrich through the server, or only read docs.
- Cost at 1M records: list price for 1M lookups a month, and what the plan gates.
We read each vendor's pricing page and docs in September 2026. We ran no find-rate or accuracy test, so we quote no quality numbers.
1. LeadOcean: best for API, agent and volume buyers
LeadOcean is one REST API and one MCP server over 693M people and 63M companies. 366M people have an email and 166M have a phone number. Auth is one x-api-key header. Pro allows 100 requests per second per key, with 5 keys, for a flat $499 a month (LeadOcean pricing, September 2026).
The schema is one record. Search, enrich and export return the same leadocean.person.v1 person, and a field we do not hold is null (LeadOcean docs, September 2026). Every address carries one of 13 email statuses, from verified to spam_trap. A miss on POST /v1/people/enrich is a free 404.
Bulk is POST /v1/exports, up to 50,000 rows per request, so 1M rows is 20 calls over two days. The MCP server at https://api.leadocean.io/mcp signs in with OAuth 2.1 and exposes 12 tools.
Here is the same lookup on both APIs. Prospeo matches on a name and a company website, or a LinkedIn URL (Prospeo docs, September 2026).
// Prospeo
curl -X POST "https://api.prospeo.io/enrich-person" \
-H "X-KEY: $PROSPEO_API_KEY" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"only_verified_email":true,"data":{"linkedin_url":"https://www.linkedin.com/in/jane-doe"}}'
// LeadOcean
curl -X POST "https://api.leadocean.io/v1/people/enrich" \
-H "x-api-key: $LEADOCEAN_API_KEY" \
-H "content-type: application/json" \
-d '{"linkedin_url":"https://www.linkedin.com/in/jane-doe","reveal_email":true}'LeadOcean enriches from a LinkedIn URL, work email, phone or person_id, not a name and domain. With a name and a domain, search first and enrich by the person_id the row returns.
curl "https://api.leadocean.io/v1/people/search?q=Eva%20Kiegler&domain=intercom.com&limit=1" \
-H "x-api-key: $LEADOCEAN_API_KEY"Pros
- Flat $499 a month at any volume, with no credit meter.
- 100 requests per second per key on every plan, Free included.
- REST and MCP on every plan, and a published OpenAPI spec.
- Free counts, and a free 404 on a miss from
POST /v1/people/enrich.
Cons
- Enrich takes one identifier. It does not match on a name and a company website.
- No waterfall across other providers.
- No rep workspace, sequencer or Chrome extension. You work in the API, MCP or the app's export page.
Best for: engineers, RevOps and agents that need volume and a fixed bill.
Pricing: Free is 1,000 records, one-off, no card. Pro is $499 a month, flat (LeadOcean pricing, September 2026).
2. BlitzAPI: best for flat-price search and emails by API
BlitzAPI sells B2B data on flat monthly plans, so it has no credit meter. It lists 550M+ profiles, 65M+ companies and 65M+ verified emails (BlitzAPI pricing, September 2026). Auth is an x-api-key header, and official Python and TypeScript SDKs handle rate limiting and retries (BlitzAPI docs, September 2026).
The catch is the plan ladder. Core is $399 and leaves out emails and phones. Plus is $499 and adds verified work emails. Full is $599 and adds US phone numbers.
Read the rate limit closely. 50 requests per second, or 3,000 a minute, applies to accounts opened by September 30, 2026. Standard accounts run at 5, per endpoint (BlitzAPI pricing, September 2026). Its MCP server gives an assistant the API docs, not the data (BlitzAPI docs, September 2026).
Pros
- Flat monthly price. The 15M results a month fair-use line applies to accounts opened by September 30, 2026 (BlitzAPI Terms, section 9.1). Limits for later accounts are not published.
- Typed SDKs with client-side rate limiting built in.
- Job postings and identity resolution next to people and company search.
Cons
- Phones need the top plan and are US only (BlitzAPI docs, September 2026).
- The MCP server reads docs. An agent cannot search or enrich through it.
- The fast rate limit depends on when the account opened.
- We found no bulk or CSV export in BlitzAPI's pricing page, docs index or v2 OpenAPI spec. Data comes through the JSON API with cursor pagination (BlitzAPI docs).
Best for: teams that want a flat-price API from a second vendor and run their own code.
Pricing: Core $399, Plus $499, Full $599 a month, for accounts opened by September 30, 2026. Prices for later accounts are not published (BlitzAPI pricing, September 2026).
3. LeadMagic: best for cheap valid emails with a cost preview
LeadMagic is a credit-based enrichment API at api.leadmagic.io, with an X-API-Key header (LeadMagic docs, September 2026). The Email Finder endpoint allows 600 requests a minute, about 10 a second, and returns valid or null (LeadMagic docs, September 2026). A failed lookup costs nothing.
Credits fall from $0.0198 on Essential to $0.00849 on Ultimate. Essential is $99 for 5,000 credits and Ultimate is $849 for 100,000. A valid email costs 1 credit and a mobile 5 (LeadMagic pricing, September 2026).
The docs also state that a sustained find rate below 10% can lead to throttling or suspension. Feed it clean lists. The hosted MCP server uses OAuth, and preview_cost shows the price of a large job before it runs (LeadMagic docs, September 2026).
Pros
- Low per-credit list price, and no charge on a miss.
- Hosted MCP server with a cost preview before large jobs.
- REST on every plan, with no plan gate on the API.
Cons
- The top self-serve plan is 100,000 credits, so 1M a month needs an Enterprise quote.
- About 10 requests a second on Email Finder, below LeadOcean's 100 per key.
- Search and export rows are capped per day by plan, from 10,000 on Essential to 100,000 on Ultimate.
Best for: teams that enrich a few hundred thousand valid emails a month and want cheap credits.
Pricing: Essential $99, Growth $249, Professional $499, Ultimate $849 a month (LeadMagic pricing, September 2026).
4. Icypeas: best for the lowest credit price at very high volume
Icypeas is a credit-based email and profile finder. Auth is an Authorization header holding your API key and nothing else (Icypeas docs, September 2026). A lookup is asynchronous: you submit a search, get an _id, then read the result.
That shape sets the limits. Email search allows 10 calls a second. Bulk search allows 1 call a second with up to 5,000 rows per call. The result-read route allows 30 calls a minute (Icypeas docs, September 2026). Polling one ID at a time does not scale, so use bulk search or the webhook field on each search.
Credits are cheap. Basic is $19 for 1,000 credits and Hypergrowth is $499 for 100,000. The pricing page credit selector lists 200,000 credits at $998, 500,000 at $2,245.50 and 1,000,000 at $3,992 a month. The 10M tier is $34,930, about $0.0035 a credit (Icypeas pricing, September 2026). Prices exclude VAT. The hosted MCP server has 21 tools and signs in with your API key (Icypeas guide, September 2026).
Pros
- The lowest per-credit list price in this group at 10M credits.
- Credits roll over with no expiry.
- MCP server with 21 tools, and people search at 0.02 credits a result.
Cons
- Submit-then-poll lookups, not one request and one response.
- 10 calls a second on email search, and 30 result reads a minute.
- No monthly price is listed above 10M credits. The yearly selector runs to 120M credits for $349,300 a year (Icypeas pricing, September 2026).
Best for: teams that run very large batches and accept async lookups for the lowest credit price.
Pricing: Basic $19 a month for 1,000 credits. Hypergrowth $499 for 100,000. 1,000,000 credits $3,992 and 10M credits $34,930 a month, or $3,326.67 a month for 1M credits billed yearly (Icypeas pricing, September 2026).
5. Anymail Finder: best for pay-per-result lookups with no rate limit
Anymail Finder finds and verifies a professional email from a name and company. Its docs say there is no rate limit and no daily cap, and it publishes an OpenAPI spec (Anymail Finder docs, September 2026). You pay only when the result is valid. A risky, blacklisted or not found result is free (Anymail Finder docs, September 2026).
Bulk is its strength. One request takes up to 100,000 rows as JSON, CSV or Excel. It runs asynchronously at about 1,000 rows in 5 minutes, with a webhook on completion. Credits are taken when you download the results (Anymail Finder bulk docs, September 2026).
Plans run from $29 for 400 credits to $799 for 100,000, and a one-time 1M pack is $4,990 (Anymail Finder pricing, September 2026). These are USD list prices from the USD view of the page. It shows Canadian dollars to visitors in Canada.
The MCP server signs in through a browser window on anymailfinder.com, where you approve the connection, with no API key. Clients that cannot sign in can pass an API key from Settings, API as a header (Anymail Finder MCP page, September 2026).
Pros
- No stated rate limit or daily cap.
- Bulk jobs of up to 100,000 rows in one request.
- Free when the result is risky, blacklisted or not found.
Cons
- Lookups only. There is no filter search and no phone endpoint in the docs.
- The 1M price is a one-off pack, not a monthly plan.
- Nothing is listed above the 1M pack. Volume pricing is on request (Anymail Finder pricing, September 2026).
Best for: teams that know the person and the company and want a simple verified-email call at volume.
Pricing: $29 a month for 400 credits. $299 for 25,000. $799 for 100,000. USD list prices (Anymail Finder pricing, September 2026).
6. Findymail: best for verified-only emails with a bounce guarantee
Findymail returns only verified emails and charges nothing when it finds none. Auth is a Bearer token, all endpoints carry a limit of 300 concurrent requests, and the docs link an OpenAPI spec and a Postman collection (Findymail docs, September 2026). Concurrency is a different shape from requests a second, so test your real batch size.
Credits are 1 per email and 10 per phone, and phones are US only (Findymail API docs, September 2026). Findymail's pricing page blocks automated reading, so we publish no Findymail price. Read plans on Findymail's pricing page, where it advertises a bounce guarantee.
The official MCP server at mcp.findymail.com has 14 tools and signs in through the browser or with a bearer token (Findymail plugin, September 2026). Employee search returns up to 5 contacts per call with no email (Findymail docs, September 2026).
Pros
- Verified-only output, and no charge on a miss.
- A bounce guarantee advertised on its pricing page.
- MCP server with 14 tools and an OpenAPI spec.
Cons
- Phones are US only at 10 credits each.
- Pricing is not machine readable, so confirm plans and volume terms with Findymail directly.
- Employee search is thin: 5 contacts a call, no email returned.
Best for: outbound teams that want verified emails from an API with an advertised bounce guarantee.
Pricing: Not published here. See Findymail's pricing page.
7. Hunter: best for domain search and verification by API
Hunter finds and verifies emails by domain or by name. Auth is an X-API-KEY header, a query parameter or a Bearer token. Email Finder and Domain Search allow 15 requests a second, Verifier 10 and Discover 5 (Hunter API docs, September 2026). Domain Search returns up to 100 results a request.
Plans are credit based. Free gives 50 credits a month. Starter is $49 monthly or $34 billed yearly. Scale is $209 a month billed yearly for 25,000 credits a month (Hunter pricing, September 2026). The Data Platform is API-only with bulk tasks, and 1,000 search credits cost $50 on its slider (Hunter Data Platform, September 2026). 1,000,000 Search credits on the Hunter Data Platform cost $6,900, paid once and valid 12 months (Hunter Data Platform pricing, September 2026).
The MCP server at mcp.hunter.io/mcp takes an API key or OAuth and spends your plan credits (Hunter MCP, September 2026).
Pros
- 15 requests a second on Email Finder, above LeadMagic and Icypeas at about 10.
- Bulk Email Finder, Domain Search and Verifier tasks.
- MCP server with API key or OAuth sign-in.
Cons
- Inside-one-domain search, not a people database you filter across.
- Scale stops at 25,000 credits a month, so 1M needs Enterprise or the Data Platform.
- A credit buys one email, so cost scales with every lookup.
Best for: teams that find emails by domain and verify them from the same API.
Pricing: Free. Starter $49 a month. Scale $209 a month billed yearly (Hunter pricing, September 2026).

Sources are linked in each tool section, all checked in September 2026. Vendors change plans often, so confirm on the pricing page before you buy. The 1M column is list price on email lookups where a vendor sells that volume. Icypeas uses its 1M tier at $3,992 and Anymail Finder its 1M pack. LeadMagic has no public price at 1M, so the table shows its top tier. Hunter's figure is the Data Platform price for 1,000,000 Search credits, paid once. Findymail publishes no price here.
How to choose
- You pull data in code or with an agent, at volume: LeadOcean. One flat price, REST and MCP on every plan, 100 requests per second per key.

- You buy valid emails by the hundred thousand: LeadMagic from $0.00849 a credit on Ultimate, and use
preview_costbefore big jobs. - You run very large batches and want the cheapest credit: Icypeas, and design for submit-then-read.
- You have names and companies and no rate-limit patience: Anymail Finder, with bulk jobs of 100,000 rows.
- You care about bounces more than volume: Findymail, which advertises a bounce guarantee on its pricing page.
- You start from a domain and need verification: Hunter.
- Your reps need a Chrome extension and CRM sync: stay on Prospeo. Its extension is on every plan (Prospeo pricing, September 2026).
Verdict
LeadOcean wins for API, agent and volume buyers. It has a flat price, 100 requests per second per key and an MCP server that returns records. BlitzAPI is the flat-price runner-up if you run your own code. LeadMagic wins for cheap valid emails and Icypeas for the lowest credit price at 10M. Anymail Finder wins for bulk and no stated rate limit, Findymail for verified-only output and Hunter for domain search. Stay on Prospeo if you need its extension and a rep workspace. Otherwise start on the free plan and compare the same lookups.
FAQ
Why do developers leave Prospeo's API?
Limits and credits. Starter allows 5 enrichment requests a second and 2,000 a day, and every lookup spends credits on a per-user plan (Prospeo rate limits, September 2026). Search is capped at 25 results a page and 25,000 a search.
What are Prospeo's API rate limits?
Enrichment is 5 a second on Starter and Growth and 30 on Pro, with daily caps of 2,000, 5,000 and 500,000. Search is 1, 2 and 5 a second, with daily caps of 1,000, 4,000 and 250,000. A breach returns a 429 (Prospeo rate limits, September 2026).
What is the cheapest Prospeo API alternative at 1M records a month?
On list price, LeadOcean at $499 flat and BlitzAPI Plus at $499 (for accounts opened by September 30, 2026) are the cheapest flat plans. Icypeas is next at $3,992 a month for 1M credits, and Anymail Finder sells a one-time 1M pack for $4,990. LeadMagic has no public price at 1M, and extrapolating its Ultimate rate gives $8,490, which is not a plan. Hunter sells 1,000,000 Search credits on its Data Platform for $6,900, bought once. Findymail publishes no price here. Enterprise quotes may narrow the gap.
How much does Prospeo cost at 1M records a month?
Prospeo publishes no plan at that volume. The cheapest public path is $14,456 a month on monthly billing, or $11,223 billed once on yearly billing (Prospeo pricing, September 2026). Add-ons start at 500 credits for $10 on monthly billing, and 1,000 credits cost $20. The pricing page FAQ line 'from 1,000 credits for $10' contradicts its own add-on table. The slider stops at 350,000 credits a month, and the help center says 3.5M a year on the standard list (Prospeo help, September 2026).
Which Prospeo alternative has an MCP server that returns data?
LeadOcean, LeadMagic, Icypeas, Findymail, Hunter and Anymail Finder all do. BlitzAPI's server reads documentation only. Prospeo's own server has 8 tools (Prospeo MCP docs, September 2026). Compare the tools each one exposes before you choose.
Do I need a credit card to try LeadOcean?
No. The free plan needs a work email and no card. It gives you 1,000 records, one-off, with the same API and MCP server as Pro. See pricing.
