Developers leave RocketReach's API when the credit meter and the lookup caps arrive together. Credits cost 2 for a professional email, 3 for a personal email and 6 for a phone, and the docs publish no dollar price per credit (RocketReach docs, September 2026). Person lookups stop at 5,000, 20,000 and 50,000 a month on Essentials, Pro and Ultimate, and at 200,000 on Custom. A global limit of 10 requests per second applies on top (RocketReach rate limits, September 2026).
The shape is slower too. Search returns no contact data, a lookup can come back as "in progress", and bulk lookup needs a webhook and takes 100 people a batch (RocketReach docs, September 2026).
This page ranks seven alternatives for developers who want higher limits, a stated price at volume or an MCP server. For a two-column view, see LeadOcean vs RocketReach. For UI-first tools, read RocketReach alternatives.
TL;DR
| Tool | Best for | Starting price | Cost at 1M records a month |
|---|---|---|---|
| LeadOcean | API, agent and volume buyers | Free (1,000 records, one-off). Pro $499 a month | $499 a month flat. Fair use applies |
| BlitzAPI | Flat-price search and enrichment by API | Core $399 a month. Plus $499 adds verified emails | $499 on Plus, inside its 15M monthly fair-use line (accounts opened by September 30, 2026) |
| People Data Labs | Licensed data and per-match enrichment | Pro from $98 a month for 350 credits | No public 1M price. Pro is $98 for 350 credits. Above about 100,000 profiles a year it is quote only |
| Coresignal | Raw employee, company and job data | Mini $49 a month for 2,500 credits | No public 1M price. About $10,000 at list rate, if sold at that volume |
| LeadMagic | Low per-credit price for valid emails | Essential $99 a month for 5,000 credits | No public 1M price. Top tier is $849 a month for 100,000 credits |
| FullEnrich | Waterfall emails and mobiles behind an API | Pro from $29 a month for 500 credits | No public 1M price. Top monthly tier is 100,000 credits for $3,500 |
| Crustdata | Live company and people data for agents | No public price list | no public dollar price per credit (Crustdata pricing, September 2026) |
"1M records" here means 1M work-email lookups that return a result, one credit each where the vendor uses credits. Where a vendor sells that volume, the figure is its list price. Where it does not, the cell says so, and Enterprise quotes are not public.
RocketReach has no public dollar price per API credit, so it is not in the table. A 1M-email month is 2M credits on its published credit costs.
What we evaluated
- Rate limits: the default requests a second or minute, and any monthly lookup cap.
- Auth and schema: the header you send, and whether one call returns a whole person.
- Bulk export: how you pull 100,000 or 1M records, and the batch size.
- MCP: whether an agent can search and enrich through the server, or only read documentation.
- Cost at 1M records: flat, credits or seats, at list price.
We read each vendor's pricing page and docs in September 2026. We ran no find-rate or accuracy test, so we quote no quality numbers. RocketReach's homepage and pricing page blocked our fetch, so this page takes RocketReach limits from its docs only. rocketreach.co and its pricing page still show a bot check to automated reads on 30 September 2026. Monthly prices are reported by G2 and annual prices remain unverified.
1. LeadOcean: best for API, agent and volume buyers
LeadOcean is one dataset behind one REST API and one MCP server. It holds 693M people, 366M with an email and 166M with a phone number, plus 63M companies. You search with 50 people filters and 34 company filters. Counts are free.
Auth is one header, x-api-key. Enrichment is POST /v1/people/enrich and it answers in the same call, with the whole person: profile, work history, skills and an email status. There is no "in progress" state to poll. Unknown fields come back null, and a person LeadOcean holds nothing for is a 404 that costs nothing (LeadOcean docs, September 2026).
Here is the same lookup on both APIs, RocketReach first. RocketReach is a GET with an Api-Key header and can answer with status "progress". LeadOcean is a POST and returns the whole person.
curl "https://api.rocketreach.co/api/v2/person/lookup?linkedin_url=https://www.linkedin.com/in/jane-doe" \
-H "Api-Key: $ROCKETREACH_API_KEY"
curl -X POST "https://api.leadocean.io/v1/people/enrich" \
-H "x-api-key: $LEADOCEAN_API_KEY" \
-H "content-type: application/json" \
-d '{"linkedin_url":"https://www.linkedin.com/in/jane-doe","reveal_email":true}'Search is the second call every pipeline makes. RocketReach's search returns profiles without contact data, so you make a second call per person (RocketReach docs, September 2026). LeadOcean search pages 100 people at a time with a cursor, and count with limit=1 sizes an audience for free. Each row carries email status flags.
curl -X POST "https://api.rocketreach.co/api/v2/person/search" \
-H "Api-Key: $ROCKETREACH_API_KEY" -H "content-type: application/json" \
-d '{"query":{"current_title":["CTO"]},"start":1,"page_size":100}'
curl -X POST "https://api.leadocean.io/v1/people/search" \
-H "x-api-key: $LEADOCEAN_API_KEY" -H "content-type: application/json" \
-d '{"title":["CTO"],"limit":100}'The price does not move with volume. Pro is $499 a month with unlimited searches, enrichments and lookups, 5 API keys and 100 requests per second per key. There are no credits and no overage invoice. A very large month is paced down, not cut off.
For bulk work, POST /v1/exports turns any people search into a CSV of up to 50,000 rows per request. A 1M-row pull is 20 calls over two days, with no webhook to host (LeadOcean docs, September 2026). The MCP server at https://api.leadocean.io/mcp signs in with OAuth 2.1 and exposes 12 tools, from search_leads to find_phone and export_leads (LeadOcean docs, September 2026).
Pros
- Flat $499 a month at any volume, with no credit meter.
- 100 requests per second per key on every plan, Free included.
- Synchronous enrichment, so no polling loop or webhook server.
- REST and MCP on every plan, with a free 404 on a miss.
Cons
- No Chrome extension, sequences or CRM sync. You work in the app's export page, the API or MCP.
- No standalone email verification endpoint. Status comes back on each record.
Best for: engineers, RevOps and agents that need volume and a fixed bill.
Pricing: Free is 1,000 records, one-off, no card. Pro is $499 a month, flat (LeadOcean pricing, September 2026).
2. BlitzAPI: best for flat-price search and enrichment by API
BlitzAPI sells B2B data as an API on flat monthly plans. Its homepage lists people and company search, email and phone enrichment, jobs data and domain to LinkedIn matching, over 1B+ records (BlitzAPI, September 2026).
Auth is an x-api-key header, and it ships typed Python and TypeScript SDKs with retries and auto-pagination (BlitzAPI docs, September 2026). Limits apply per endpoint, and your limit is readable from the key_info() call (BlitzAPI docs, September 2026). We found no bulk export endpoint in its docs index, so a large pull is a paged loop (BlitzAPI docs, September 2026).
The plan ladder is where it gets fiddly. Core is $399 a month and leaves out emails and phones. Plus is $499 and adds verified work emails. Full is $599 and adds US phone numbers (BlitzAPI pricing, September 2026). The 50 requests per second and 15,000,000 monthly results belong to accounts opened by September 30, 2026, against a standard 5 per second. Its MCP server gives an assistant the API documentation, not the data (BlitzAPI docs, September 2026). After September 30 the lifetime offer closes to new accounts. The only published standard figure is 5 requests per second per endpoint. Plan prices and monthly volume for later accounts are set by the website or order form at subscription (BlitzAPI pricing, BlitzAPI Terms, section 9.1).
Pros
- Flat monthly price, with a stated fair-use line of 15,000,000 results a month. That limit is for accounts opened by September 30, 2026, and later accounts' limits are not published (BlitzAPI Terms, section 9.1).
- Official SDKs handle retries and per-endpoint limits.
- 1,000 free trial credits, no card.
Cons
- Three paid tiers, and phones need the top one.
- Phone numbers are US only on Full.
- The MCP server reads docs. An agent cannot search or enrich through it.
- The fast rate limit depends on when the account opened.
Best for: teams that want a flat-price search and enrichment API and run their own code.
Pricing: Core $399, Plus $499, Full $599 a month (BlitzAPI pricing, September 2026).
3. People Data Labs: best for licensed data and per-match enrichment

People Data Labs (PDL) is a long-running person and company data API with bulk licences. It charges per match: a request that returns a person costs one credit, and a miss costs none (PDL pricing, September 2026).
Auth is an X-Api-Key header or an api_key parameter (PDL docs, September 2026). Enrichment allows 1,000 calls a minute on paid plans, and Bulk Person Enrichment takes up to 100 people per request (PDL docs, September 2026). Person search is slower. The default is 10 requests a minute, at up to 100 records a page, paged with a scroll_token (PDL docs, September 2026).
The entry price is high per record. Pro starts at $98 a month for 350 credits, which is $0.28 each, and PDL says profiles cost about $0.20 to $0.28 by volume. Volume above 100,000 records goes through sales (PDL docs, September 2026). We found no official MCP server in PDL's docs index (PDL docs, September 2026).
Pros
- A stated 1,000 calls a minute on paid enrichment, without a monthly lookup cap.
- Bulk enrichment of 100 people per request, answered in one response.
- Dataset licences for your own warehouse.
Cons
- $0.20 to $0.28 a record on self-serve Pro, and no public price at 1M, so volume needs a sales call.
- Person search defaults to 10 requests a minute.
- No official MCP server found, so agents need a wrapper you host.
Best for: teams that license data or build a data product and accept per-record pricing.
Pricing: Free up to 100 records a month. Pro from $98 a month for 350 credits. Enterprise custom (PDL pricing, September 2026).
4. Coresignal: best for raw employee, company and job data

Coresignal sells employee, company and job records on credits. A base employee or company record costs 10 credits, a multi-source record 20 and a contact enrichment 20. Mini is $49 a month for 2,500 credits. Elite is $5,000 for 10M (Coresignal pricing, September 2026).
Auth is an apikey header (Coresignal docs, September 2026). Rate limits rise with the plan, from 5 requests a second on Mini and Starter to 10 on Pro and 100 or more on Elite (Coresignal docs, September 2026). Search returns IDs for free, and every collect bills. Bulk Collect is asynchronous and stops at 10,000 records a request (Coresignal docs, September 2026).
At 1M records, 20 credits each for an email is 20M credits. No public plan sells that, and Elite is 10M credits for $5,000 a month. At the Elite rate of $0.0005 a credit it is about $10,000 at list rate, if sold at that volume. The MCP server uses OAuth 2.1 and exposes 5 tools (Coresignal docs, September 2026).
Pros
- Job postings and company data sit next to employee records.
- Rate limits reach 100 requests a second and above on top plans.
- Hosted MCP server with OAuth 2.1.
Cons
- Every collect bills, and 1M email lookups need twice the credits of the top plan.
- No phone field in either employee dictionary. Multi-source employee records carry a professional email and a 4-value email status (Coresignal docs, September 2026). The Base Employee API pages list no email field (Coresignal docs, September 2026).
Best for: analytics and AI teams that need raw profiles, companies and jobs.
Pricing: $49 to $5,000 a month on credits (Coresignal pricing, September 2026).
5. LeadMagic: best for a low per-credit price on valid emails
LeadMagic is a credit-based enrichment API. It lists 400M+ people profiles and 25M+ companies, and reaches them through REST, CSV, a command-line tool and a hosted MCP server (LeadMagic, September 2026). Failed lookups cost nothing, which matches RocketReach's rule of no charge when nothing is found.
Auth is an X-API-Key header at api.leadmagic.io (LeadMagic docs, September 2026). The Email Finder endpoint allows 600 requests a minute. LeadMagic also states that a sustained find rate below 10% can lead to throttling or suspension (LeadMagic docs, September 2026).
The credit price falls as you climb the plans. Essential is $99 a month for 5,000 credits. Professional is $499 for 50,000. Ultimate is $849 for 100,000, or $0.00849 a credit (LeadMagic pricing, September 2026). A valid email costs 1 credit and a mobile 5. The MCP server uses OAuth, and a preview_cost call shows the price of a large job first (LeadMagic docs, September 2026).
Pros
- The lowest per-credit list price in this group.
- No charge when an email is not found.
- Hosted MCP with a cost preview before large jobs.
Cons
- The top self-serve plan is 100,000 credits, so 1M a month needs an Enterprise quote.
- Search and export are capped per day by plan: 10,000 rows on Essential, 100,000 on Ultimate (LeadMagic pricing, September 2026).
- A minimum find-rate policy can throttle lists with poor match rates.
Best for: teams that enrich a few hundred thousand valid emails a month and want the cheapest credits.
Pricing: Essential $99, Growth $249, Professional $499, Ultimate $849 a month (LeadMagic pricing, September 2026).
6. FullEnrich: best for waterfall emails and mobiles behind an API
FullEnrich queries 25+ sources for each contact, and you pay only for data it finds (FullEnrich pricing, September 2026). If RocketReach missed a mobile, this is the tool that tries several vendors in one call.
Credits are the meter. A work email costs 1 credit, a personal email 3 and a mobile 10. Entry is Pro at $29 a month for 500 credits, which is $0.058 each. The 1,000-credit tier is $55 a month ($0.055 each). Search costs 0.25 credits per person returned (FullEnrich docs, September 2026).
Enrichment is asynchronous, with a bulk request of up to 100 contacts and results by webhook or polling (FullEnrich docs, September 2026). The API allows 60 calls a minute, and higher limits are an Enterprise feature (FullEnrich docs, September 2026). The MCP server can search, enrich and export, and it asks you before it spends credits (FullEnrich help, September 2026).
Pros
- Waterfall across 25+ sources, so one call can cover several vendors.
- Search, enrichment and export in the MCP server.
Cons
- Mobiles cost 10 credits each, so phone-heavy pulls get expensive fast.
- Asynchronous enrichment, like RocketReach, so you run a webhook or a poll loop.
- A credit meter at volume. There is no public price at 1M work emails, and the top monthly tier is 100,000 credits for $3,500.
Best for: teams that want waterfall contact data, mostly emails and mobiles, through an API or an agent.
Pricing: Pro from $29 a month for 500 credits up to $3,500 a month for 100,000. Above that, contact sales (FullEnrich pricing, September 2026).
7. Crustdata: best for live company and people data in agents

Crustdata sells real-time company and people data through APIs for search, enrichment, jobs, posts and watchers. It lists 1 billion+ people and describes its data as continuously re-verified (Crustdata, September 2026). It fits signal-driven work better than bulk list building.
Auth is a Bearer key plus an x-api-version header (Crustdata docs, September 2026). Pricing is credit based and the public page shows no dollar price per credit (Crustdata pricing, September 2026). Person search is 0.03 credits per result, person enrichment 1 to 7 credits, and contact enrichment 1 to 5.5 credits (Crustdata docs, September 2026).
Volume is the catch. Person enrich defaults to 15 requests a minute and person search to 30, and higher limits go through support (Crustdata docs, September 2026). Async batch jobs of up to 10,000 people get around it, at the cost of waiting (Crustdata docs, September 2026). The MCP server at install.crustdata.com/mcp signs in with OAuth or an API key (Crustdata docs, September 2026).
Pros
- Live data and change watchers that a static database lacks.
- Cheap search at 0.03 credits per result, so you narrow before you enrich.
- MCP server that returns company, people and job data.
Cons
- No public price per credit, so you cannot price 1M records from the site.
- Low default rate limits on standard endpoints.
- Purchased credits expire after 12 months.
Best for: AI SDR and signal workflows that need fresh data more than raw volume.
Pricing: Credit based, with no public price list. Per-call credit costs are in the docs (Crustdata docs, September 2026).

FAQ
What are RocketReach's API rate limits?
There is a global limit of 10 requests per second. On top of that, each plan has minute, hourly, daily and monthly caps. Ultimate allows 100 person lookups a minute and 50,000 a month (RocketReach rate limits, September 2026).
How much does the RocketReach API cost at 1M records a month?
RocketReach publishes credit costs but no price per credit. A professional email is 2 credits, so 1M is 2M credits, and the highest published lookup cap is 200,000 a month (RocketReach docs, September 2026). Email api@rocketreach.co for an API plan quote. RocketReach publishes no dollar price per Universal Credit and no API plan price. Its docs set credit costs only, and its docs say to email api@rocketreach.co for an API plan (RocketReach credits overview; RocketReach rate limits).
Does RocketReach have an MCP server?
Yes. It uses OAuth 2.1 at mcp.rocketreach.co/mcp and lists search, lookup, email verify and account tools. Lookups spend credits (RocketReach MCP docs, September 2026). LeadOcean has an MCP server with 12 tools on every plan, including Free.
Which RocketReach API alternative is cheapest at volume?
At 1M records a month, LeadOcean at $499 flat and BlitzAPI Plus at $499 (for accounts opened by September 30, 2026) are cheapest on list price. Coresignal, LeadMagic, FullEnrich and PDL publish no price at that volume. Enterprise quotes may narrow the gap.
Which alternatives have an MCP server that returns data?
LeadOcean, FullEnrich, LeadMagic, Coresignal and Crustdata all do. BlitzAPI's server reads documentation only. We found no official PDL server.
Do I need a credit card to try LeadOcean?
No. The free plan needs a work email and no card. It gives you 1,000 records, one-off, with the same API and MCP server as Pro. See pricing.
