What a credit buys
A Universal Credit is the API unit. A verified professional email costs 2 credits, a phone costs 6 and a search page costs 1 (RocketReach docs, September 2026).

All sources checked September 2026. A lookup that finds no data costs nothing. Emails graded B or F cost nothing, and re-looking up the same profile is free while your plan is active (RocketReach FAQ, September 2026).
Hidden costs
The sticker price is per seat, but exports and API caps set the real bill.
- Exports are the meter. Annual plans say "unlimited" lookups, yet an export is what you pay for. Ultimate stops at 1,000 a month on monthly billing, or 20,000 a year on annual billing (G2, September 2026).
- Annual billing changes the export count. Pro gives 250 exports a month on monthly billing and 3,600 a year on annual billing, which is 300 a month (G2, September 2026). Check the annual price on RocketReach's pricing page.
- No price per credit. The API needs a plan from the API team. Dollar cost per Universal Credit is not public.
RocketReach publishes no dollar price per Universal Credit and no API plan price. Its docs set credit costs only, and its docs say to email api@rocketreach.co for an API plan (RocketReach credits overview; RocketReach rate limits).
- Prepaid terms. You prepay for a year or a month. Cancelling takes effect the following term (RocketReach pricing, September 2026).
- Lookup ceilings. Person lookups cap at 5,000, 20,000 and 50,000 a month on the three plans (RocketReach rate limits, September 2026).
- Search depth. One query returns at most 10,000 results, and searches are metered (RocketReach FAQ, September 2026).
- Phone is a tier up. Essentials is email only. Phone numbers start at Pro, and intent and healthcare data are Ultimate only.
- Team plans are quote-only. Pooled credits and higher API limits come with a quote, and RocketReach does not publish a Team price (RocketReach pricing).
Worked examples
All three examples assume one email per record and every record found, billed as exports on monthly list prices (G2 reported). Ultimate is the cheapest per export: $209 / 1,000 = $0.209. Pro is $0.476 and Essentials is $0.69. These are seat arithmetic, not public prices. Nobody buys 1,000 seats, and seats do not lift the API lookup caps. Annual Ultimate is cheaper per export, but RocketReach's annual prices are not published to automated readers, so we do not price it.

- Exports needed: 10,000 a month.
- Ultimate, monthly: 10,000 / 1,000 = 10 seats x $209 = $2,090 a month.

- Ultimate, monthly: 25,000,000 / 1,000 = 25,000 seats x $209 = $5,225,000 a month.
- Lookup cap: 25M at 200,000 a month is 125 months.
- LeadOcean Pro: $499 flat. A very large month is paced down to one request a minute past the fair-usage line, not cut off. One email to support gets more headroom.
Break-even against $499 is about 2,400 exports a month on monthly Ultimate ($499 / $0.209). Below that, a few RocketReach seats are cheaper.
Is it worth it
RocketReach is worth it for one person who prospects by hand. The plan buys an app with a Chrome extension and sequences, not a data pipe.
- Solo founder or one rep: Essentials at $69 a month (reported) is enough for email outreach. Move to Pro only if you need phone numbers.
- Small sales team of 2 to 10: Pro or Ultimate seats fit. The CRM integrations (HubSpot, Salesforce, Outreach, Salesloft, Bullhorn) start at Pro.
- RevOps or data engineer feeding a pipeline: Exports run out fast and lookups cap at 50,000 a month. A flat fee is easier to plan.
- Agency or high-volume team: Ask for a Team quote. Budget for API credits separately.
- Agent builders: The API bills credits with no public price. Get a written quote before you build.
