BlitzAPI vs Prospeo (2026): Data, Pricing and API Compared

BlitzAPI is a flat-price data API with a large LinkedIn-based dataset and US-only phones. Prospeo is a per-seat credit product with a Chrome extension, CSV export and an MCP server that returns records. BlitzAPI wins on volume and price for accounts on its launch offer. Prospeo wins on small teams and flexible lookups. All figures below were checked in September 2026.

Verdict

• Pick BlitzAPI if you pull tens of thousands of work emails or more a month through code. Plus is $499 a month flat for accounts opened by September 30, 2026, and the cost does not move with volume. Prices for newer accounts are not published (BlitzAPI pricing, September 2026).
• Pick Prospeo if you look up a few thousand contacts a month, want a Chrome extension and CSV export, or need mobile numbers outside the US. Credits cost less than a flat plan at low volume (Prospeo pricing, September 2026).
• Pick neither if you need an agent to search and enrich through MCP on a flat price, or a bulk CSV export. BlitzAPI's MCP serves docs only and it documents no export. Prospeo's bill grows with every credit. LeadOcean is one option.

Data and coverage

BlitzAPI has the larger people dataset on paper. It lists 550M+ contacts, all tied to LinkedIn profiles, and 65M+ companies. Prospeo's API docs say 200M+ contacts and 30M+ companies (Prospeo API docs, September 2026). Both are vendor claims, and we have not tested either.

Email coverage points the other way. Prospeo's homepage claims 143M verified emails, against 65M+ for BlitzAPI (Prospeo, September 2026). Verified-email count is the number that matters if you send cold email. A big contact count with few emails means many misses.

Phones differ most. BlitzAPI holds 45M+ phone numbers, and its docs say phone enrichment is US only (BlitzAPI docs, September 2026). Phone endpoints are also locked on the free trial. Prospeo sells a mobile finder at 10 credits per mobile and publishes no count or country limit (Prospeo help center, September 2026).

BlitzAPI also lists 100M+ job postings, which Prospeo does not. If a hiring signal is your trigger, that matters.

API and developer experience

Both are plain REST with an API key in a header. The difference is what you must know before you call.

BlitzAPI's email lookup needs a LinkedIn URL. The sample response also reports records_used and a rate_limit block, which helps when you meter spend in code (BlitzAPI docs, September 2026).

Prospeo's lookup is more forgiving. You can send a name plus a company website, a LinkedIn URL, an email or a person ID from search. The only_verified_email flag stops it spending a credit on an unverified address (Prospeo API docs, September 2026).

Search is shallower on Prospeo. One request returns 25 results, costs 1 credit and stops at 25,000 results per search, with no email or mobile in the rows (Prospeo search docs, September 2026). BlitzAPI's Find People returns 50 a page and stops at 50,000 results per query (BlitzAPI docs, September 2026).

On MCP, the two are not alike. Prospeo's hosted server exposes search and enrich tools, so an agent can fetch records, with OAuth 2.0 or an API key (Prospeo MCP docs, September 2026). BlitzAPI's MCP server gives an AI tool live access to its documentation only (BlitzAPI docs, September 2026).

Rate limits favour BlitzAPI, with a catch. Accounts opened by September 30, 2026 run at 50 requests per second per endpoint. After that date the lifetime offer closes to new accounts. The only published standard figure is 5 requests per second per endpoint, and later plan prices and volume are set at subscription (BlitzAPI pricing, BlitzAPI Terms, section 9.1, September 2026). Prospeo's Pro plan allows 30 enrich requests per second and 500,000 a day.

Pricing

BlitzAPI charges a flat monthly fee by data type. Core is $399 and leaves out emails and phones. Plus is $499 and adds verified work emails. Full is $599 and adds US phone numbers. There is no billed-yearly figure (BlitzAPI pricing, September 2026).

Prospeo charges per seat plus credits. Starter is $49 for 2,000 credits, Growth is $99 for 5,000 and Pro is $249 for 15,000. Billed yearly is 25% less: $37, $74 and $187 a month. One verified email is 1 credit and one mobile is 10. A lookup that finds nothing is free, and credits do not roll over (Prospeo pricing, help center, September 2026).

10,000 work emails a month

• BlitzAPI: Plus at $499 a month. Core at $399 does not include emails. Only emails actually found count as results.
• Prospeo, monthly: 10,000 credits. Growth at $99 gives 5,000, and the 5,000-credit add-on is $90. That is $99 + $90 = $189 a month.
• Prospeo, billed yearly: one Pro seat at $2,241 a year, which is $187 a month for 15,000 credits a month, all delivered upfront.

At 10,000 emails, Prospeo costs less than half of BlitzAPI Plus. For 10,000 mobiles, Prospeo needs 100,000 credits. One Pro seat at $249 plus the 100,000-credit add-on at $1,200 is $1,449 a month for 115,000 credits. BlitzAPI Full is $599, but US numbers only.

1M work emails a month

• BlitzAPI: $499 a month on Plus. 1,000,000 results is under the 15,000,000 results a month limit that applies to accounts opened by September 30, 2026. At 50 requests per second the run takes about 5.6 hours. At the standard 5, about 2.3 days. Prices for accounts opened later are not published.
• Prospeo, monthly: no single tier reaches 1M. The cheapest public mix is 44 Pro seats at $249, which is $10,956 for 660,000 credits, plus the 350,000-credit add-on at $3,500. That is 1,010,000 credits for $14,456 a month.
• Prospeo, billed yearly: 3 Pro seats at $2,241 is $6,723, plus the 500,000-credit yearly add-on at $4,500. That is $11,223 once, for 1,040,000 credits upfront.
• Prospeo, mobiles: 1M mobiles is 10M credits. No public 1M price.

Prospeo's add-on list stops at 350,000 credits a month and 500,000 a year. Higher volume needs support to enable extended pricing (Prospeo help center, September 2026). BlitzAPI publishes no price above 15M results a month, and its FAQ says a person contacts you (BlitzAPI pricing, September 2026).

The crossover is near 30,000 emails a month. Two Prospeo Pro seats cost $498 for 30,000 credits, against $499 flat for BlitzAPI Plus. Below that, Prospeo is cheaper. Above it, a launch-offer BlitzAPI account is.

Where BlitzAPI wins

• Price at volume, on launch-offer accounts. One flat fee covers 1M emails or more, where Prospeo needs dozens of seats.
• A bigger people dataset and job postings. 550M+ contacts and 100M+ postings against Prospeo's 200M+ contacts.
• Rate limits for accounts opened by September 30. 50 requests per second per endpoint against Prospeo's 5 on Starter.
• Deeper search. 50,000 results per query and 50 a page, against 25,000 and 25.

Where Prospeo wins

• Low volume. A few thousand lookups cost less than any BlitzAPI plan, and a lookup that finds nothing is free.
• An MCP server that returns records. BlitzAPI's serves documentation only.
• Flexible matching. Name plus company website works. BlitzAPI's email lookup needs a LinkedIn URL.
• An app for reps. It has a Chrome extension, CSV export and HubSpot and Salesforce sync (Prospeo pricing, September 2026).
• Email-first coverage. It claims 143M verified emails against 65M+.

If you need volume through an API

Neither tool combines a flat price with an MCP server that returns records. LeadOcean does. There is a Free plan with 1,000 records, one-off, no card, and Pro at $499 a month, flat, with no credits.
