Prospeo is the better data source for code: a faster API, a mobile finder and a price you can add up at 1M. Snov.io is the better buy when one team finds, verifies and sends from a single login. Neither publishes a list price at 1M that matches your volume.

Verdict

  • Pick Prospeo if you call an API and want verified emails and mobiles with 5 enrich calls a second on the entry paid plan. It also prints a price you can sum at 1M (Prospeo rate limits, September 2026).
  • Pick Snov.io if reps find leads, verify them and send sequences in one app, and you want every plan priced on one page, from $39 to $738 a month (Snov.io pricing, September 2026).
  • Pick neither if you pull people and company data by API at volume. Both meter by the credit. LeadOcean is one option, covered below.

Data and coverage

Prospeo is a database you search, then enrich. Snov.io is a suite with a database search, a finder and a verifier on top. Neither prints a phone count, and only Prospeo prints an email count.

Neither vendor's size claims line up with its own docs. Prospeo's homepage says 280M leads and companies. Its API docs say 200M+ contacts and 30M+ companies (Prospeo, September 2026; API docs, September 2026). Snov.io says 500M+ verified contacts on its lead finder page, while its Database Search guide says more than 50M prospects, updated monthly (Snov.io, September 2026). The two Snov.io numbers are not measured alike.

Search is where the models split. A Prospeo search page returns up to 25 people for 1 credit and carries no email or mobile. You pay again to reveal those (Prospeo search docs, September 2026). Snov.io's database search API is free to run and returns 20 profiles a page with the contact details hidden. Emails with a valid or unknown status cost 1 credit when you save the prospect (Snov.io API docs, September 2026; Snov.io guide, September 2026).

Phones differ in kind. Prospeo has a mobile finder in the same enrich call at 10 credits per mobile found. Snov.io sells phone lookups from third-party providers inside the app. Wiza costs 10 tokens and Zeliq 22 per number found (Snov.io enrichment guide, September 2026). The API reference lists no phone-finder method, so check that before you plan a phone pipeline on Snov.io.

Both vendors claim accuracy. Prospeo's homepage says 98% data accuracy, and Snov.io's homepage says 98% for its verifier. Both are vendor claims, not test results. Run the same 200 contacts through each tool and count the hits and the bounces.

API and developer experience

Both tools have REST and a hosted MCP server. Prospeo enriches one person in one synchronous call. Snov.io makes you start a task, then fetch the result. Placeholders below stand in for real people.

Prospeo, enrich a person by name and company website.

bash
curl -X POST "https://api.prospeo.io/enrich-person" \
  -H "X-KEY: $PROSPEO_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{
    "only_verified_email": true,
    "data": {
      "first_name": "Jane",
      "last_name": "Doe",
      "company_website": "acme.com"
    }
  }'

A found email costs 1 credit. A miss is free, and so is re-enriching the same record within 90 days (Prospeo enrich docs, September 2026). Prospeo advises the bulk endpoint, up to 50 people a request, for speed.

Snov.io, get a token, start a search, then fetch the result.

bash
curl -X POST "https://api.snov.io/v1/oauth/access_token" \
  -d "grant_type=client_credentials" \
  -d "client_id=$SNOV_CLIENT_ID" \
  -d "client_secret=$SNOV_CLIENT_SECRET"

curl -X POST "https://api.snov.io/v2/emails-by-domain-by-name/start" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $SNOV_ACCESS_TOKEN" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"rows": [{"first_name": "Jane", "last_name": "Doe", "domain": "acme.com"}]}'

curl "https://api.snov.io/v2/emails-by-domain-by-name/result?task_hash=$TASK_HASH" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $SNOV_ACCESS_TOKEN"

It costs 1 credit for each email with a valid or unknown status. Each request takes up to 10 names (Snov.io API docs, September 2026).

The limits are built differently. Prospeo limits per second and per day by plan. Enrich is 2,000 calls a day on Starter, 5,000 on Growth and 500,000 on Pro (Prospeo rate limits, September 2026). Snov.io allows 60 requests a minute on every plan. At 10 names a request, 1M names is 100,000 requests. That is 100,000 / 60 = 1,667 minutes, about 28 hours of nonstop calls, before any result fetches.

Free plan API access is the one place Prospeo's sources conflict. The pricing table shows none, while the help center lists limited access at 50 requests a day (Prospeo help center, September 2026). Test a free key before you plan around it.

On MCP, Prospeo's 8 tools run on the same credits as the API, and search results come back with obfuscated contact previews. Snov.io's server covers lead search, verification, CRM and LinkedIn actions, and needs a Sales Suite or LinkedIn Automation plan (Snov.io MCP guide, September 2026).

Pricing

Prospeo bills per user, and plan and add-on credits expire at the end of each cycle (Prospeo help center, September 2026). Snov.io bills plan credits. Its pricing page says unused credits expire every 30 days, unless you are on an annual plan or have plan renewal enabled (Snov.io pricing, September 2026). Monthly list price comes first below, with the billed-yearly figure after it.

At 10,000 work emails a month

  • Prospeo: one credit per verified email, so 10,000 credits. A Growth seat at $99 holds 5,000, plus a 5,000-credit add-on at $90, is $189 a month. One Pro seat is $249 for 15,000. Billed yearly, two Growth seats at $888 each give 120,000 credits upfront: $1,776 a year, $148 a month (Prospeo pricing, September 2026).
  • Snov.io: one credit per email found. Pro S holds 5,000, so you need Pro M. That is $189 a month for 20,000 credits, or $141.75 billed yearly ($1,701 a year) (Snov.io pricing, September 2026).

At 10,000 mobile numbers a month

At 1M work emails a month

  • Prospeo: no single tier reaches 1M. The cheapest public path is 44 Pro seats at $249 ($10,956) plus the 350,000-credit add-on at $3,500. That is $14,456 a month for 1,010,000 credits. Billed yearly, 3 Pro seats at $2,241 plus the 500,000-credit yearly add-on at $4,500 cost $11,223 once (Prospeo pricing, September 2026).
  • Snov.io: No public 1M price. The largest self-serve step is Ultra at $738 for 100,000 credits, $553.50 billed yearly. Custom Ultra starts at 200,000 credits and goes through sales (Snov.io pricing, September 2026).

Prospeo's 1M figure is arithmetic on list prices, not a quote. It assumes every lookup hits. The slider stops at 350,000 credits a month, and support enables higher volume on request (Prospeo help center, September 2026).

We do not multiply Snov.io's rate out to 1M. It sells nothing public at that size, so ask for a quote. Snov.io also charges 1 credit to verify an address you already hold, and sending runs on a separate recipient meter (Snov.io pricing, September 2026).

Where Prospeo wins

  • A faster API. Enrich runs at 5 calls a second on Starter and 30 on Pro, against Snov.io's 60 a minute on every plan.
  • A one-call lookup. Email and mobile come from one synchronous request, with no task hash to poll.
  • A price at 1M you can sum. It is $14,456 a month, which is a lot, but it is on the page.
  • Verified-only mode. only_verified_email lets you pay only for records with a verified address.

Where Snov.io wins

  • One app for the outbound loop. Finder, 7-tier verifier, warm-up, campaigns, LinkedIn automation and a CRM, with unlimited team seats (Snov.io pricing, September 2026).
  • A lower entry price. Starter is $39 a month against Prospeo's $49, and the plan ladder is readable on one page.
  • Unlimited export. Every paid plan exports without a row cap, where Prospeo limits a selection to 20,000 rows.
  • A bigger claimed database. 500M+ contacts and 60M+ companies are claims, but they are claims you can test.

If you need volume through an API

LeadOcean is the data layer only: 693M people and 63M companies over REST and a 12-tool MCP server. Pro is $499 a month, flat, with no seats and no credits. Free gives you 1,000 records, one-off, with no card. Export up to 50,000 rows per request with POST /v1/exports, and call at 100 requests per second per key. LeadOcean has no sequencer, dialer, CRM or Chrome extension, so reps who send from one app should keep Snov.io. See pricing.

FAQ

Is Prospeo or Snov.io cheaper?

At 10,000 work emails a month the list prices tie at $189 on monthly billing. Snov.io is cheaper billed yearly at $141.75, against $148 for two Prospeo Growth seats. Snov.io's Starter is the lowest entry at $39. For mobiles, Prospeo is cheaper per number.

Which has more emails and phone numbers?

Neither publishes a phone count. Prospeo claims 143M verified emails, and Snov.io claims 500M+ contacts without an email count. The claims are not measured alike, so run the same 200 people through both tools.

Do Prospeo and Snov.io both have an MCP server?

Yes. Prospeo's is hosted at mcp.prospeo.io with 8 tools (Prospeo MCP docs, September 2026). Snov.io's is at mcp.snov.io/mcp and signs you in with OAuth (Snov.io MCP guide, September 2026).

What are the API rate limits?

Prospeo's enrich API allows 5 a second on Starter and Growth and 30 on Pro, with daily caps by plan (Prospeo rate limits, September 2026). Snov.io allows 60 requests a minute (Snov.io API docs, September 2026).

Does Snov.io have a free API?

Not for tests. Free accounts book a demo to get test access (Snov.io API docs, September 2026). Prospeo's own pages disagree on Free API access, so test a free key first.

What does LeadOcean cost, and is there a limit?

Free gives you 1,000 records, one-off, with no card. Pro is $499 a month, flat. Past the fair-usage line a very large month is paced down instead of cut off, and support can raise the headroom.
