Prospeo is the better pick if you call an API or an agent, because its credit costs, limits and MCP server are public. Wiza is the better pick for a rep who works from LinkedIn and wants unlimited email reveals on one seat. The two sell different things at the API level. The figures below come from each vendor's own pages, checked in September 2026.

Verdict

  • Pick Prospeo if you enrich or search through code or an agent. It prints credit costs, rate limits and daily caps, and its lookup returns in one synchronous call (Prospeo pricing, September 2026; Prospeo rate limits, September 2026).
  • Pick Wiza if a person prospects from LinkedIn Sales Navigator or Recruiter and exports lists to a CRM. Annual plans include unlimited email reveals per seat (Wiza pricing, September 2026).
  • Pick neither if you pull data in code at volume and want one flat bill. Prospeo meters every lookup and Wiza quotes its API on a call. LeadOcean fits that case and is covered below.

Data and coverage

Wiza claims the bigger database, and Prospeo prints the clearer email count. Wiza says 850M+ contacts (Wiza, September 2026). Prospeo says 280M leads and companies, of which 143M are verified email addresses (Prospeo, September 2026). Neither explains how it counts a record.

The two verify differently. Wiza says it checks contact data against live sources the moment you request it, rather than serving a stored copy (Wiza, September 2026). Prospeo claims 98% data accuracy and weekly refreshed data (Prospeo, September 2026). We have not tested either claim.

Wiza is built around a LinkedIn profile. Its reveal takes a profile URL, an email, or a name plus company or domain. Prospeo takes a name plus a company, a LinkedIn URL, an email or an id returned by its own search (Prospeo enrich docs, September 2026).

Phones are an open question on both sides. Prospeo sells a mobile at 10 credits, email included. Wiza returns up to three mobile numbers per profile for 5 API credits (Wiza docs, September 2026). Neither vendor publishes how many numbers it holds.

API and developer experience

Both have a REST API and a hosted MCP server, but they behave differently. Prospeo answers in one synchronous call. Wiza is two steps: start a reveal, then fetch it by id or wait for a webhook. Placeholders below stand in for real people.

Prospeo, enrich a person from a name and a company website.

bash
curl -X POST "https://api.prospeo.io/enrich-person" \
  -H "X-KEY: $PROSPEO_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"only_verified_email": true, "data": {"first_name": "Jane", "last_name": "Doe", "company_website": "acme.com"}}'

The flags only_verified_email and enrich_mobile control when credits are spent. You are not charged for a miss, or for the same record twice within 90 days (Prospeo enrich docs, September 2026).

Wiza, start an individual reveal from a name, company and domain.

bash
curl -X POST "https://wiza.co/api/individual_reveals" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $WIZA_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"individual_reveal": {"full_name": "Jane Doe", "company": "Acme", "domain": "acme.com"}, "enrichment_level": "partial"}'

The reply is a queued job with an id. You then call GET https://wiza.co/api/individual_reveals/{id}, or let a webhook deliver the result (Wiza docs, September 2026). Wiza says a work email can take 0 to 380 seconds, about 25 on average. A personal email averages about 4 seconds (Wiza docs, September 2026). Build for a queue.

Limits differ in kind. Prospeo caps requests per second and per day by plan. Wiza caps parallel requests in flight, and its help center states the Individual Reveal limit as 15 a second (Wiza help, July 2026). The docs and the help center describe it two ways, so ask Wiza which applies to your key.

One point is unsettled on the Prospeo side. Its pricing table shows no public API on Free. The help center lists limited Free API access, 50 requests a day (Prospeo help center, September 2026). The API docs intro says free API access for all users (Prospeo API docs, September 2026). Test a free key before you plan around it.

On Wiza, API access is on the Team plan and support turns it on. Credits then come from a slider in the app or an enterprise deal (Wiza docs, September 2026). Its MCP server needs both API access and credits.

Pricing

Both tools charge per user, so cost scales with volume and seats. The worked example uses work emails only, every lookup a hit. Prices are monthly list first, billed-yearly after. A Prospeo mobile costs 10 credits and a Wiza API phone 5, so a phone pull costs far more.

10,000 records a month

  • Prospeo: one Growth seat gives 5,000 credits for $99. The 5,000-credit add-on is $90. That is 10,000 credits for $99 + $90 = $189 a month. Billed yearly, 2 Growth seats at $888 a year each give 120,000 credits for $1,776, or $148 a month (Prospeo pricing, September 2026).
  • Wiza on a monthly seat: the Email plan is $99 a month and includes 500 valid emails. The other 9,500 cost $0.15 each, which is $1,425. The total is $99 + $1,425 = $1,524 a month (Wiza pricing, September 2026).
  • Wiza on annual seats: emails are unlimited, but exports stop at 2,500 a month per seat. Exporting 10,000 takes 4 seats at $990 a year each, which is $3,960 a year or about $330 a month. That is arithmetic, not a price you can buy: Wiza puts 3 or more users on custom Team pricing (Wiza pricing, October 2026). The page does not say whether a reveal you do not export counts against the cap.
  • Wiza through the API: 10,000 valid emails is 20,000 credits at 2 each. The dollar price per credit is not public, so there is no list price to show.

At 10,000 a month Prospeo is cheaper: $189 against $1,524 monthly, and $148 billed yearly against about $330 of Wiza seat arithmetic that Team pricing replaces. The Wiza annual route is a rep's tool, not an API bill.

1M records a month

  • Prospeo: no single tier reaches 1M. On monthly billing the cheapest public mix starts with (1,000,000 - 350,000 add-on credits) / 15,000 = 43.3. Round up to 44 Pro seats at $249 = $10,956, then add the 350,000-credit add-on at $3,500. That is 1,010,000 credits for $14,456 a month. Billed yearly, 3 Pro seats at $2,241 plus the 500,000-credit yearly add-on at $4,500 is $11,223 once, with 1,040,000 credits upfront (Prospeo pricing, September 2026).
  • Wiza: No public 1M price. Seat plans cap exports at 2,500 a month per seat, API access sits on a custom Team plan, and API credits above the slider are quoted on a call. We do not multiply a seat rate out to 1M, because Wiza does not sell it that way.

Prospeo publishes nothing past 350,000 add-on credits a month or 500,000 a year. Extended pricing is enabled on request (Prospeo help center, September 2026). For a steady 1M every month, ask both vendors for a quote.

Rollover. Prospeo credits never roll over. Wiza API credits last 12 months.

Where Prospeo wins

Public API pricing and limits. Prospeo prints its credit costs, plan prices, rate limits and daily caps. Wiza prints credit costs but no dollar price per credit, so you cannot budget an API pipeline before a sales call.

A simpler lookup. One POST returns the result, a miss costs nothing, and bulk enrich takes 50 records. Wiza's work email path is queued and can run for minutes.

Cheaper at 10,000 a month. The arithmetic above puts Prospeo at $189 against $1,524 on Wiza's monthly seats.

Search and filters. Prospeo searches people with up to 41 filters on Pro before you spend a credit on contact data (Prospeo pricing, September 2026).

Where Wiza wins

LinkedIn workflow. Wiza builds lists from Sales Navigator, Recruiter or a CSV, and has a Chrome extension. Prospeo has an extension too, but Wiza's list route is the reason reps pick it (Wiza help, July 2026).

A bigger claimed database. 850M+ contacts is three times Prospeo's 280M. Test both on your own list, because a larger number is not a higher hit rate.

Unlimited emails for one rep. On an annual seat at $83 a month, email reveals are unlimited (Wiza pricing, September 2026). One person working a few thousand profiles a month pays less there than on credits.

Live verification. Wiza checks an email when you ask for it. Prospeo serves a refreshed copy and charges for verified results.

If you need volume through an API

LeadOcean is a people and company data API with a hosted MCP server, with no seats and no credits. Free gives 1,000 records one-off with no card, and Pro is $499 a month flat over REST and MCP, with the whole database included. Export up to 50,000 rows per request with POST /v1/exports, so a 1M-row pull is 20 requests over two days. It is the data layer plus an export app, with no rep workspace or Chrome extension. See LeadOcean pricing, the Prospeo alternative and Prospeo alternatives.

FAQ

Is Prospeo or Wiza cheaper?

Prospeo, for API-style volume. At 10,000 emails a month it is $189 on monthly billing against $1,524 on Wiza's Email seat (Prospeo pricing, September 2026; Wiza pricing, September 2026). For one rep on an annual Wiza seat at $83 a month, Wiza can be cheaper.

Which has more data, Prospeo or Wiza?

Wiza claims more: 850M+ contacts against 280M leads and companies at Prospeo (Wiza, September 2026; Prospeo, September 2026). Prospeo prints an email count of 143M verified addresses. Run the same 200 people through both and compare hit rates.

Do Prospeo and Wiza have an MCP server?

Yes, both. Prospeo's is at mcp.prospeo.io with 8 tools (Prospeo MCP docs, September 2026). Wiza's is at mcp.wiza.co/mcp with 5 tools, and it needs API access and credits (Wiza MCP guide, September 2026).

How do credits work on each?

Prospeo charges 1 credit per verified email and 10 per mobile, and nothing for a miss (Prospeo help center, September 2026). Wiza's API charges 2 credits for a valid email, 5 for a phone and 1 for a matched profile, and nothing for an unmatched URL (Wiza docs, September 2026).

Which is better for phone numbers?

It depends on how you buy. Prospeo prices a mobile at 10 credits, email included. Wiza prices a phone at $0.35 on monthly seats beyond the included amount, or 5 API credits, and its Email plus Phone annual seat includes unlimited phone reveals. Neither publishes phone coverage.

Can I use Wiza's API without talking to sales?

Not fully. The pricing page lists API access on the Team plan, and the help center says to ask support to enable it. Smaller credit amounts can be bought with a slider once API access is on (Wiza docs, September 2026).
