RocketReach and Seamless.AI both sell B2B contact data to sales teams, and both sell API access on a credit model. Neither publishes a price for 1M records. They differ in who they suit: RocketReach fits one rep on a low seat price, and Seamless.AI fits a team that wants a dialer and intent data in one app.
Verdict
- Pick RocketReach if one rep or a small team prospects by hand and wants a low monthly seat price and a Chrome extension. Its API is real, but it is capped and set up by email.
- Pick Seamless.AI if reps need mobile numbers, a dialer and a bigger claimed database in one app, and you can buy through sales. It has the larger dataset and the faster bulk route.
- Pick neither if you need volume through an API at a price you can read. LeadOcean is one option: Pro is $499 a month, flat, with no credits.

Data and coverage
Seamless.AI claims the bigger database by a wide margin. It lists 2.2B+ verified contacts against RocketReach's 700M+ professionals. On companies it claims 121M+ against 60M+ (Seamless.AI platform overview, September 2026).
Treat both as vendor claims. RocketReach's docs give 60M+ companies on the home page and 35M on the API account page (RocketReach docs, September 2026). Seamless.AI's own pages have shifted too: older figures of 1.3B+ contacts and 414M mobiles are gone from the live site.
Phone is the clearest gap on paper. Seamless.AI claims 448M+ verified mobile numbers (Seamless.AI API page, September 2026). RocketReach publishes no phone count, only a price of 6 credits for a phone.
RocketReach does publish a deliverability grade for email. It charges no credit when no data is found or when the email grade is B or F, so you do not pay for weak addresses (RocketReach FAQ, September 2026). That is a billing rule, not an accuracy test.
Seamless.AI's bundle is wider. The platform adds a dialer, emailing, buyer intent and job-change tracking (Seamless.AI, September 2026). RocketReach's docs describe search, lookup and email verification APIs, and we found no dialer or intent feed in them.
Neither vendor publishes an independent accuracy test, and we ran none. Run the same 500 people through both free tiers and count the matches.
API and developer experience
RocketReach's API is simple but slow to scale. Seamless.AI's API is asynchronous but built for batches. Both send you to a person to get access.
RocketReach authenticates with an Api-Key header. Person lookup is a GET that takes a LinkedIn URL, an email, a phone or a name plus employer (RocketReach docs, September 2026). The values below are placeholders.
curl --request GET \
--url "https://api.rocketreach.co/api/v2/person/lookup?name=Jane%20Doe¤t_employer=Acme" \
--header "Api-Key: $ROCKETREACH_API_KEY"The lookup can return a status of progress, so you poll or register a webhook. Bulk lookup needs a webhook and takes 100 people per batch. Search returns at most 10,000 results per query (RocketReach FAQ, September 2026).
Seamless.AI authenticates with a Token header. Research starts a job and returns request IDs, and you poll for the result (Seamless.AI docs, September 2026). This request researches one contact by name and company.
curl --request POST \
--url "https://api.seamless.ai/api/client/v2/contacts/research" \
--header "Token: $SEAMLESS_API_KEY" \
--header "content-type: application/json" \
--data '{"contacts":[{"contactName":"Jane Doe","companyName":"Acme"}]}'The reply is a 202 with requestIds. You then call GET /contacts/research/poll with those IDs. One request takes up to 500 records, and the docs suggest polling every 2 to 5 seconds (Seamless.AI docs, September 2026).
The limits differ in kind. RocketReach has one global cap of 10 requests a second plus monthly caps by plan. Seamless.AI has 60 requests a minute per endpoint, with search, research and poll in separate windows, and no monthly call cap in the docs.
On MCP, both have an official server. RocketReach's has 9 tools and Seamless.AI's has 57 across 13 domains. On Seamless.AI the search tools use no credits and the research tools do.
Pricing
Both tools turn records into credits, and neither prints a dollar price per credit. The worked examples below count credits and seats instead, and we do not invent a rate.
At 10,000 records a month
RocketReach: 10,000 exports a month is 10 Ultimate seats, since Ultimate allows 1,000 exports a month at $209 on monthly billing. So 10 x $209 = $2,090 a month (reported by G2, September 2026). That is our arithmetic, and the docs do not say whether you can stack ten seats on self-serve.
The API route is different. A professional email costs 2 Universal Credits, so 10,000 emails is 20,000 credits (RocketReach credits, September 2026). The Pro person lookup cap is 20,000 a month, so that volume fits. There is no published price per credit.
RocketReach's pricing page blocks automated reads, so we could not confirm its billed-yearly prices and leave them out.
Seamless.AI: researching 10,000 contacts is 10,000 credits, at 1 credit per contact. A Pro license carries 10,000 credits a month, so one license covers it (Seamless.AI credit docs, September 2026). If each record first comes from a search at 1 credit per 10 results, add 1,000 credits and you need two licenses.
Seamless.AI publishes no price for a Pro license, so there is no dollar total (Seamless.AI pricing, September 2026). The $147 a month Basic figure appears only on competing vendors' blogs, so we do not use it. Plans are annual, and cancelling needs 60 days' notice before renewal (Seamless.AI terms, September 2026).
At 1M records a month
RocketReach: no public 1M price. One million professional emails is 2,000,000 Universal Credits, with no dollar price published. The highest published person lookup cap is 200,000 a month, so 1M lookups is five months at the Custom tier (RocketReach rate limits, September 2026).
Seamless.AI: no public 1M price. One million contact researches is 1,000,000 credits, or 1,100,000 with a search first. At 10,000 credits per Pro license that is 100 licenses, or a bulk pool, and both are quote only (Seamless.AI bulk credits, September 2026).
Seamless.AI is the faster route on throughput. At 500 records a call and 60 requests a minute per endpoint, 1M records is 2,000 research calls, about 34 minutes of request windows, plus polling. Async completion time is not documented.
We do not multiply a rate out to 1M for either tool. The rates fall or the caps apply before you get there, and a made-up quote helps no one.
Where RocketReach wins
- A low entry price for one person. $69 to $209 a month on monthly billing, reported by G2, is far below a sales-led contract.
- A published price at all. You can read the seat prices. Seamless.AI's pricing page is a quote form.
- No charge for weak data. No credit on a B or F email grade, and none when a lookup finds nothing.
- Free re-lookups. Looking up the same profile again costs nothing while the plan is active (RocketReach FAQ, September 2026).
- A standalone verify endpoint.
POST /api/v2/email/verifyruns at 300 a minute on every plan (RocketReach rate limits, September 2026).
Where Seamless.AI wins
- A bigger dataset and more mobiles. 2.2B+ contacts and 448M+ mobile numbers, by its own claims.
- Batch size. 500 records a call against RocketReach's 100, and no monthly call cap in the docs.
- A wider app. Dialer, emailing, buyer intent and job-change tracking sit in the same product.
- A larger MCP surface. 57 tools against 9, with free search tools.
If you need volume through an API
We build LeadOcean, so weigh this section accordingly. LeadOcean holds 693M people and 63M companies, reachable over REST and MCP. Free is 1,000 records, one-off, with no card. Pro is $499 a month, flat, with unlimited searches and lookups and 100 requests per second per key (LeadOcean pricing, September 2026).
For bulk work, POST /v1/exports returns up to 50,000 rows per request. The app also has an Exports page with a filter builder, price preview and CSV download (LeadOcean exports docs, September 2026). There is no sequencer, dialer or Chrome extension. See the RocketReach alternative page and RocketReach alternatives.
