Claude flags the gmail.com, yahoo.com and outlook.com addresses in any list. LeadOcean tells you how many people have a personal email on file and how many have a work one. Connect the server at https://api.leadocean.io/mcp first. Setup is on the MCP page.
Claude does the domain check from its own knowledge of webmail providers. LeadOcean does not hold a free-domain list. It classifies each person's best email as work or personal, and that is the filter this prompt uses. For a deeper look at catch-all domains, see wildcard email domain.
The prompt
Here is a list of email addresses.
1. Split them into free (webmail) domains and company domains.
Free means gmail.com, yahoo.com, outlook.com, hotmail.com, icloud.com,
proton.me and similar. Show the free domains with a count each.
2. List the company domains with a count each.
3. Call leadocean_count_leads with emailType personal and
emailStatus verified. Report the total and the filters.
4. Call leadocean_count_leads again with emailType work and
emailStatus verified. Report the total and the filters.
5. Do not call any tool that spends records.
Emails:
[paste your list here]What it resolves to
| Filter | Value |
|---|---|
| emailType | personal, then work |
| emailStatus | verified |
| domain | optional: the company domains from step 2, such as acme.com |
personal means webmail and similar. work means an address on the person's current employer domain. Both strings come from leadocean_list_enum_values, which is free.
How many match
247,853 people with a verified personal email matched on 2 October 2026. Filters: emailType personal, emailStatus verified, no other filter.
Passing emailStatus replaces the mailable default, so this counts people with a verified personal email, not the mailable count. Your own list will be much smaller than this total.
What you get back
Claude returns the split lists and the two counts. These sample rows are placeholder values, not real records.
| Title | Company size | Industry | Country |
|---|---|---|---|
| Founder | 1-10 | Marketing Services | US |
| Operations Manager | 51-200 | Logistics and Supply Chain | GB |
| Head of Sales | 11-50 | Computer Software | DE |
Variations
- Add "also flag role addresses such as info@ and support@" to catch shared inboxes.
- Change step 3 to "count personal emails in country US only".
- Ask "list free domains I did not name and tell me why you think they are free".
