Crustdata is a data API you build on, and Kaspr is a LinkedIn tool your reps click. Crustdata claims 1B people and adds live web data, but publishes credits and no dollars per credit. Kaspr publishes seat prices and credit packs, but its API is on request and capped by the day.
Verdict
- Pick Crustdata if you build agents or products on live people and company data, with jobs, posts and change watchers, and you accept a quote for the dollar price (Crustdata pricing, September 2026).
- Pick Kaspr if reps prospect profile by profile on LinkedIn and need phone numbers, mostly in Europe. Seats start at $65 a month billed monthly (Kaspr pricing, September 2026).
- Pick neither if you pull people and company data by API at volume. Neither publishes a 1M price, and both throttle API calls. LeadOcean is one option, covered below.

Data and coverage
Crustdata claims the bigger index. Its homepage counts 1B people and describes one graph of people and companies built from the web (Crustdata, September 2026). The same page states both 60M and 200M+ companies, so quote neither without asking.
Kaspr's numbers are smaller and focused on Europe. It claims 200m+ profiles and 500m+ phone numbers and emails on its homepage (Kaspr, September 2026). Its data page says 200 million European B2B contacts from 120+ providers (Kaspr data page, September 2026). Both are vendor claims, and neither is audited.
The two sell different things. Crustdata sells depth and freshness: employment history, jobs, social posts and watchers that alert on a changed person or company. Kaspr sells the last step on a LinkedIn profile: a phone number or an email, one click at a time.
Neither tool publishes a coverage figure for emails or phones alone. Run the same 200 people through both before you commit.
API and developer experience
Both tools enrich from a LinkedIn profile. They differ in what you can do around that lookup. Crustdata also searches people, companies and jobs by API. Kaspr's public docs list profile enrichment and a credit balance check only (Kaspr API docs, September 2026). Placeholders below stand in for real people.
Crustdata, enrich a person by profile URL (person enrich docs):
curl --request POST \
--url https://api.crustdata.com/person/enrich \
--header "authorization: Bearer $CRUSTDATA_API_KEY" \
--header "content-type: application/json" \
--header "x-api-version: 2025-11-01" \
--data '{"professional_network_profile_urls": ["https://www.linkedin.com/in/jane-doe/"]}'That returns the base profile for 1 credit, with up to 25 URLs per request. The pricing docs add 1 credit for a business email and 2 for a phone on the same endpoint (Crustdata pricing docs, September 2026). The same docs say to call /account/endpoints to see which of those fields your plan can use. The enrichment guide sends you to Contact Enrich for emails and phones (Crustdata enrich docs, October 2026). Contact Enrich needs an enterprise plan, and self-serve keys get a 403 (Crustdata contact docs, September 2026).
Kaspr, enrich a person from a LinkedIn ID (Kaspr help center):
curl -X POST "https://api.developers.kaspr.io/profile/linkedin" \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $KASPR_API_KEY" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"name":"Jane Doe","id":"jane-doe"}'Each call spends one credit for the data type fetched, plus one export credit for each successful call. The API does not accept Sales Navigator URLs (Kaspr help center, September 2026). Every response carries Decreased-Credits and Remaining-Credits headers (Kaspr API docs, September 2026).
Rate limits are the practical gap. Crustdata defaults to 15 requests a minute on person enrich, so 1M single lookups take about 46 days (1,000,000 / 15 a minute = 66,667 minutes). That figure is derived, not published. Crustdata's answer is batch jobs of up to 10,000 identifiers, which run asynchronously (Crustdata rate limits, September 2026).
Kaspr's plan table is tighter. Business allows 500 API requests a day, which is about 15,000 in a 30-day month. Its docs add a per-minute limit for each workspace, with the numbers in response headers (Kaspr API docs, September 2026).
On MCP, only Crustdata has a hosted server. It accepts OAuth sign-in for interactive clients and an API key as a bearer token for code (Crustdata MCP docs, September 2026). We found no Kaspr MCP server on its pages, though absence on those pages is not proof.
Pricing
Both tools charge per credit, but only Kaspr prints dollars. The worked example uses work emails and phones, every lookup a hit. Prices are monthly list first, billed-yearly after.
10,000 records a month
- Crustdata: 10,000 x 2 credits (1 base + 1 business email) = 20,000 credits on
/person/enrich. On the enterprise-only contact endpoint it is 10,000 x 1 = 10,000 credits. A phone adds 2 credits per record. No public dollar price: Crustdata publishes credits, not dollars per credit (Crustdata pricing docs, September 2026). A blog post reports a lowest tier from $95 a month, with no stated allowance (Crustdata blog, September 2026). - Kaspr work emails: B2B email credits are unlimited on paid plans, but each API call spends one export credit. Business allows 30,000 exports a year and 500 API requests a day, so 10,000 a month is past its export limit. Kaspr sells 10,000 export credits for $308 on a monthly plan, but the pricing page does not say whether add-on credits lift that limit (Kaspr pricing, September 2026). Ask Kaspr before you plan on it. If they do, a $99 seat plus the $308 pack is $407 a month.
- Kaspr phones: monthly phone packs are a tenth the size of the yearly ones at a tenth of the price, so 10,000 phone credits is $2,060 (a tenth of $20,600). Add the same seat and export pack: $2,060 + $308 + $99 = $2,467 a month, with the same open question on the export limit.
1M records a month
- Crustdata: 1,000,000 x 2 = 2,000,000 credits on
/person/enrich, or 1,000,000 on the contact endpoint. No public 1M price. Dollars are credits times your quoted price per credit, which is not public. - Kaspr: No public 1M price. The Business API cap of 500 requests a day and 30,000 exports a year rule out 1M on any public plan. Enterprise is custom with unlimited credits and no published price. The largest add-on pack listed is 100,000 export credits at $3,080 on the yearly plan (Kaspr pricing, September 2026).
Search is where Crustdata is easier to price. It charges 0.03 credits per result, so 10,000 results cost 300 credits, and company identify and autocomplete are free (Crustdata pricing docs, September 2026). Kaspr's public API has no search.
Credits also behave differently. Crustdata's docs say purchased credits expire 12 months after purchase (Crustdata credits, September 2026). A Crustdata blog post from 30 July 2026 says 6 months (Crustdata blog, September 2026), so confirm the term in your dashboard before you buy in bulk. Kaspr credits roll over and are shared across the account on paid plans, not on Free.
Ask both vendors for a quote at 1M. Neither page lets you total it.
Where Crustdata wins
A larger index. Crustdata claims 1B people against Kaspr's 200m+ profiles. If your target is a long-tail profile outside Europe, the bigger graph may hold it.
Live data and signals. Crustdata fetches live profiles, searches jobs and posts, and watches people and companies for changes. A person watcher costs 5 credits per changed person at the 30-day SLA, and up to 150 at a 1-day SLA (Crustdata pricing docs, September 2026). Kaspr has none of this.
An API for builders. Crustdata has search, batch jobs of 10,000 and a hosted MCP server. Kaspr's API enriches one LinkedIn profile per call.
Where Kaspr wins
The LinkedIn workflow. Kaspr is a Chrome extension first. A rep opens a profile, clicks once and gets a number, also on Sales Navigator from Starter and Recruiter Lite from Business (Kaspr pricing, September 2026). Crustdata has no extension.
A price you can read. Seats, credit packs and limits are on one page, in euro, sterling or dollars. A team of five reps can total the bill without a call, and Free costs nothing.
Phones for reps, in Europe. Kaspr leads with phone numbers and claims 200 million European B2B contacts. Crustdata gates its dedicated contact endpoint behind enterprise.
If you need volume through an API
LeadOcean is a people and company data API with a hosted MCP server, with no seats and no credits. Free gives 1,000 records one-off with no card. Pro is $499 a month flat, with 693M people and 63M companies over REST and MCP, at 100 requests per second per key. Export up to 50,000 rows per request with POST /v1/exports, and call count_leads first because counts are free. It is only the data layer, with no LinkedIn extension, live web fetch or change watchers, so keep Crustdata for signals and Kaspr for rep workflows. See pricing and the Crustdata alternative.
FAQ
Is Crustdata or Kaspr cheaper?
Kaspr is the only one you can total, because it prints dollars. One Business seat is $99 a month billed monthly, and 10,000 export credits are $308 on top, though Kaspr does not say whether those lift the 30,000-a-year export limit. Crustdata has no public dollar price per credit, so any figure for it is a guess until you get a quote.
Does Crustdata or Kaspr have an MCP server?
Crustdata does, at install.crustdata.com/mcp, with OAuth or an API key (Crustdata MCP docs, September 2026). We found none for Kaspr on its pricing, API, API docs or help pages.
Which has better phone numbers?
Neither publishes a phone-only count, so there is no public winner. Kaspr leads its pitch with phone numbers, and Crustdata adds 2 credits for a phone on enrich. Run the same 200 people through both and compare hit rates.
What are the API rate limits?
Crustdata defaults to 15 requests a minute on person enrich and 30 on search (Crustdata rate limits, September 2026). Kaspr lists 250 requests a day on Starter and 500 on Business (Kaspr pricing, September 2026).
Do credits expire?
Crustdata's docs say purchased credits expire 12 months after purchase, while a Crustdata blog post says 6 months. Kaspr credits roll over on paid plans.
Do I need a credit card to try either?
Kaspr has a Free plan with 15 B2B email, 5 phone and 5 direct email credits a month (Kaspr pricing, September 2026). Crustdata's pricing page lists no plans, so it publishes no free tier. LeadOcean's free plan has no card and 1,000 records to spend whenever you like.
