Developers leave LeadMagic when credits and rate caps start to shape the architecture. An email costs 1 credit, a mobile costs 5, and the largest self-serve plan is 100,000 credits for $849 a month (LeadMagic docs, September 2026). Email Finder allows 600 requests a minute (LeadMagic docs, September 2026). Zero-credit search starts on the $499 Professional plan, at 5 requests a second (LeadMagic docs, September 2026). Hosted MCP signs in with OAuth and takes no static key (LeadMagic docs, September 2026).

This page ranks seven alternatives on rate limits, auth, schema, bulk export, MCP and the cost of 1M records a month. LeadOcean is first for API, agent and volume buyers. For a two-column view, see LeadOcean vs LeadMagic. For a wider list that is not API-only, read LeadMagic alternatives.

"1M records" here means 1M work-email lookups that return a result, one credit each where the vendor uses credits. For reference, LeadMagic has no public price at 1M a month. Its top public tier is Ultimate at $849 a month for 100,000 credits (LeadMagic docs, September 2026). Extrapolating Ultimate's $0.00849 a credit gives about $8,490, which is arithmetic, not a plan. Other figures are list-price arithmetic where a public plan sells the volume. Enterprise quotes are lower, so ask each vendor at your volume.

What we evaluated

  • Rate limits: the default requests per second or minute, per key or per account, and what happens past them.
  • Auth and schema: how you sign requests, and whether the response shape is stable across endpoints.
  • Bulk export: rows per request, and whether you need a CSV tool or can pull in code.
  • MCP: whether an agent can search and enrich through the server, or only read documentation.
  • Cost at 1M records a month: flat, credits or seats, at list price.

We read each vendor's pricing page and docs in September 2026. We ran no find-rate or accuracy test, so we quote no quality numbers.

1. LeadOcean: best for API, agent and volume buyers

LeadOcean is one dataset behind one REST API and one MCP server. It holds 693M people, 366M with an email and 166M with a phone number, plus 63M companies. Enrichment is POST /v1/people/enrich, phones are GET /v2/people/phone, and exports run up to 50,000 rows per request.

The price does not move with volume. Pro is $499 a month with unlimited searches, enrichments and lookups, 5 API keys and 100 requests per second per key. That is 10 times LeadMagic's 10 a second burst on Email Finder. A 1M-lookup pull is about 2.8 hours on one key at the ceiling, against about 28 hours at 10 a second. There are no credits and no overage invoice. A very large month is paced down to one request a minute until the reset, not cut off.

Auth is one x-api-key header. The response is leadocean.person.v1: one schema for search and enrich, with unknown fields as null (LeadOcean docs, September 2026). Every email carries one of 13 statuses, from verified to spam_trap. Here is the same lookup on both APIs, starting from a profile URL. The first call is LeadMagic's Email Finder. The second is LeadOcean enrich.

bash
curl -X POST "https://api.leadmagic.io/v1/people/email-finder" \
  -H "X-API-Key: $LEADMAGIC_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"profile_url":"https://www.linkedin.com/in/jane-doe"}'

curl -X POST "https://api.leadocean.io/v1/people/enrich" \
  -H "x-api-key: $LEADOCEAN_API_KEY" \
  -H "content-type: application/json" \
  -d '{"linkedin_url":"https://www.linkedin.com/in/jane-doe","reveal_email":true}'

One gap matters. LeadOcean enrich takes a LinkedIn URL, an email, a phone number or a person ID. It has no name plus domain lookup. To start from a domain, list the people at a company with GET /v1/companies/{domain}/people, then enrich.

The MCP server at https://api.leadocean.io/mcp signs in with OAuth 2.1 and exposes 12 tools, from search_leads to find_phone and export_leads. Every person or company returned counts as one record, and count_leads is free.

Pros

  • Flat $499 a month at any volume, with no credit meter.
  • 100 requests per second per key on every plan, Free included.
  • POST /v1/exports returns up to 50,000 rows per request, so 1M rows is 20 calls over two days.
  • Email status on every record, and a miss on POST /v1/people/enrich is a free 404.
  • REST and MCP on every plan, including Free.

Cons

  • No name plus domain email finder. You need a LinkedIn URL, email, phone or person ID.
  • No CSV upload screen, no waterfall across other providers and no job-post data.
  • A miss on a v2 contact endpoint costs one record.

Best for: engineers, RevOps and agents that need volume, a stable schema and a fixed bill.

Pricing: Free is 1,000 records, one-off, no card. Pro is $499 a month, flat (LeadOcean pricing, September 2026).

2. BlitzAPI: best for flat-price enrichment from a LinkedIn URL

BlitzAPI is the nearest LeadOcean rival on price model. It sells people and company search, email and phone enrichment and job data on flat monthly plans. Core is $399 a month and leaves out emails and phones. Plus is $499 and adds verified work emails. Full is $599 and adds US phone numbers (BlitzAPI pricing, September 2026).

The work email endpoint takes a LinkedIn URL, so it fits the profile-URL call above, not name plus domain (BlitzAPI docs, September 2026). Auth is an x-api-key header (BlitzAPI docs, September 2026). The docs ship Python and TypeScript SDKs with a client-side limiter.

Read the limits before you commit. The 50 requests per second applies to accounts opened by September 30, 2026. Standard accounts run at 5. The limit is per endpoint (BlitzAPI docs, September 2026). Its MCP server gives an assistant the API documentation, not the data (BlitzAPI docs, September 2026). Search pages hold 50 results and stop at 50,000 per query (BlitzAPI docs, September 2026).

Pros

  • Flat $499 for verified work emails, with a stated fair-use line of 15,000,000 results a month for accounts opened by September 30, 2026 (BlitzAPI terms, September 2026). Limits for later accounts are not published.
  • Typed SDKs in Python and TypeScript.
  • A free trial of 1,000 credits with no card.

Cons

  • Three paid tiers, and phones need the top one, US only.
  • The MCP server reads docs. An agent cannot search or enrich through it.
  • The fast rate limit depends on when the account opened.

Best for: teams that enrich from LinkedIn URLs in their own code and want a flat price.

Pricing: Core $399, Plus $499, Full $599 a month (BlitzAPI pricing, September 2026).

3. FullEnrich: best for waterfall emails and mobiles behind an API

FullEnrich queries 25+ sources per contact and bills only for data it finds (FullEnrich pricing, September 2026). Credits are the meter. A work email is 1 credit, a personal email 3 and a mobile 10. Pro starts at $29 a month for 500 credits, which is $0.058 each. The 1,000-credit tier is $55 a month, or $0.055 each (FullEnrich docs, September 2026).

The API is built for batches. Bulk enrichment is asynchronous, with up to 100 contacts per request and a webhook or poll for the result (FullEnrich docs, September 2026). Auth is a Bearer token. The default limit is 60 calls a minute, and higher limits are an Enterprise feature (FullEnrich docs, September 2026).

The MCP server can search, enrich and export, and it asks you before it spends credits (FullEnrich help, September 2026). There is no public price at 1M work emails. The top public monthly tier is 100,000 credits for $3,500 a month ($0.035 a credit), and above that you contact sales. The yearly toggle lists 1,200,000 credits a year for $37,800 billed yearly (FullEnrich pricing, September 2026).

Pros

  • Waterfall across 25+ sources, so one call can cover several vendors.
  • Search, enrichment and export in the MCP server.
  • Credits roll over for 3 months on monthly plans.

Cons

  • 60 calls a minute by default, a tenth of LeadMagic's Email Finder limit.
  • Mobiles cost 10 credits, so phone-heavy pulls cost far more than email pulls.
  • Async enrichment means a webhook or polling loop in every integration.

Best for: teams that want waterfall mobiles on a modest monthly volume.

Pricing: Pro from $29 a month for 500 credits, or $55 for 1,000. Enterprise custom (FullEnrich pricing, September 2026).

4. Prospeo: best for per-seat teams that want an API and an extension

Prospeo prices per user and then per credit. One verified email costs 1 credit and a mobile costs 10. Starter is $49 per user a month, Growth $99 and Pro $249 (Prospeo pricing, September 2026). Credit add-ons start at 500 credits for $10 on monthly billing. 1,000 credits cost $20, or $0.02 each. Add-ons fall to $0.010 a credit at 350,000 credits a month and $0.009 at 500,000 credits a year. No add-on reaches 1M in a month.

The cheapest public path to 1M in a month on monthly billing is 44 Pro seats at $249 (15,000 credits each) plus the 350,000-credit add-on at $3,500. That is $14,456 a month for 1,010,000 credits. Billed yearly, it is 3 Pro seats at $2,241 a year plus the 500,000-credit yearly add-on at $4,500. That is $11,223 billed once for 1,040,000 credits delivered upfront. Yearly seats cannot be mixed with a monthly add-on.

The API has hard ceilings by plan. Enrich runs at 5 requests a second on Starter and Growth and 30 on Pro. Daily enrich caps are 2,000, 5,000 and 500,000 (Prospeo docs, September 2026). Starter's 2,000 a day is 60,000 lookups in a 30-day month. Free plan API access is not settled in Prospeo's own pages. The pricing table shows no public API on Free. The help center lists limited access (Prospeo help, October 2026), and the API docs intro says free API access for all users (Prospeo API docs, October 2026). Confirm on the pricing page before you plan on the Free plan.

Bulk enrichment takes up to 50 records per request (Prospeo docs, September 2026). Search returns 25 results a page at 1 credit a page (Prospeo docs, September 2026). The hosted MCP server has 8 tools and signs in with OAuth 2.0 or an API key (Prospeo docs, September 2026).

Pros

  • Both an API key and OAuth work on the MCP server.
  • No credit is charged when an enrich finds no result (Prospeo docs, September 2026).
  • A Chrome extension and CRM sync for reps on the same account.

Cons

  • Seats and credits both scale the bill.
  • Daily caps of 2,000 and 5,000 enrich calls on the two lower plans.
  • Search results carry no email, so you pay again to enrich them.

Best for: small teams that want an API, an extension and pay-as-you-go emails.

Pricing: Free 100 credits a month. Starter $49, Growth $99, Pro $249 per user a month (Prospeo pricing, September 2026).

5. Findymail: best for verified emails with a bounce guarantee

Findymail verifies each address when you ask for it and returns only verified emails. Its pricing page blocks automated reading, so this page prints no Findymail price. See Findymail's pricing page for current plans.

It advertises a bounce guarantee on its pricing page. The API uses Bearer auth and a stated limit of 300 concurrent requests (Findymail docs, September 2026). The phone endpoint is US only.

The official MCP server at mcp.findymail.com has 14 tools and signs in through the browser or a bearer token (Findymail plugin, September 2026). Search is a plain-language query, not a set of structured filters.

Pros

  • Verified at request time, with a bounce guarantee advertised on its pricing page.
  • A bearer token works on the MCP server, which helps headless agents.

Cons

  • No price we could read, so check its pricing page for volume.
  • Phone numbers are US only.
  • No structured search filters in the docs.

Best for: outbound teams that want verified emails and a refund if they bounce.

Pricing: Not published here. See Findymail's pricing page.

6. Hunter: best for email lookups by domain

Hunter is an email index with a clean API. One credit is one email found, and a verification costs half a credit. Scale is $299 a month, or $209 billed yearly, for 25,000 credits a month (Hunter pricing, September 2026). That is the top self-serve plan, so 1M a month means Enterprise.

The core calls take a domain, or a name plus a domain, which matches LeadMagic's own input. Email Finder and Domain Search allow 15 requests a second and 500 a minute. Verifier allows 10 a second (Hunter docs, September 2026). Auth is a header, a query parameter or a Bearer token.

The MCP server at mcp.hunter.io/mcp takes an API key or OAuth and spends your plan credits (Hunter MCP, September 2026). Domain Search returns at most 100 results a call, so a market-wide list means paging domain by domain.

Pros

  • Name plus domain lookups, like LeadMagic.
  • 500 requests a minute on Email Finder, close to LeadMagic's 600.
  • MCP server on every plan, with key or OAuth auth.

Cons

  • Scale stops at 25,000 credits a month.
  • Search starts at a domain, not a filter over a database.
  • The Verifier returns 6 statuses, fewer than LeadOcean's 13.

Best for: developers who look up emails one domain at a time and want a small, cheap API.

Pricing: Free 50 credits a month. Starter $49, Scale $299 a month on monthly billing (Hunter pricing, September 2026).

7. People Data Labs: best for licensed datasets and per-match enrichment

people-data-labs homepage

People Data Labs (PDL) is a long-running person and company data API with bulk licences. It bills per match: one credit for a person returned, nothing for a miss. Pro starts at $98 a month for 350 credits, which is $0.28 each (PDL pricing, September 2026). Volume above 100,000 records goes through sales (PDL docs, September 2026).

The limits suit code. Enrichment allows 1,000 calls a minute on paid plans (PDL docs, September 2026). Person Search defaults to 10 a minute. It takes a query on any field in the person schema, up to 100 results a page (PDL docs, September 2026). Bulk enrichment takes 100 people per request (PDL docs, September 2026).

The Free plan gives 100 records a month with contact data hidden. We found no official MCP server in PDL's docs index (PDL docs, September 2026). Above about 100,000 profiles a year PDL quotes Enterprise only, so there is no public 1M price (PDL blog, September 2026).

Pros

  • 1,000 enrichment calls a minute on paid plans.
  • Query any field in the person schema, and pull datasets as licensed files.
  • No charge for an unsuccessful request.

Cons

  • $0.28 a record at the entry rate, so volume needs a sales call.
  • Contact data is hidden on the Free plan.
  • No official MCP server found, so agents need a wrapper you host.

Best for: data teams that license datasets or need per-record schema control.

Pricing: Free up to 100 records a month. Pro from $98 a month for 350 credits (PDL pricing, September 2026).

Sources are linked in each tool section, all checked in September 2026. Vendors change plans often, so confirm on the pricing page before you buy. The 1M column is list-price arithmetic on work-email lookups. PDL has no public price at 1M, since it quotes Enterprise above about 100,000 profiles a year. FullEnrich has no public price at 1M, and its top public tier is 100,000 credits for $3,500 a month. Prospeo uses the cheapest public seat and add-on path, monthly billing. Findymail's price is not published to automated readers. Hunter's figure is Data Platform's 1,000,000 Search credits, bought once and valid 12 months (Hunter Data Platform pricing, September 2026). LeadMagic, for reference, has no public price at 1M, and its extrapolated Ultimate rate is about $8,490.

How to choose

  • You pull data in code or with an agent, at volume: LeadOcean. One flat price, REST and MCP on every plan, 100 requests per second.
  • You start from LinkedIn URLs and want a second flat-price vendor: BlitzAPI Plus, if a docs-only MCP server is fine.
  • You need waterfall mobiles: FullEnrich, and budget 10 credits per mobile.
  • You start from a name and a domain: stay on LeadMagic, or use Hunter or Findymail. LeadOcean cannot do that lookup.
  • You want a bounce guarantee: Findymail, which advertises one on its pricing page.
  • You need schema control or licensed files: People Data Labs.
  • You buy fewer than about 50,000 valid emails a month: LeadMagic Professional or Hunter is cheaper than $499 flat.
  • You want a Chrome extension with the API: Prospeo.

Verdict

LeadOcean wins for API, agent and volume buyers. It has a flat price, a 100 requests per second limit, a stable schema, 50,000-row exports and an MCP server that returns records. BlitzAPI is the flat-price runner-up if you start from LinkedIn URLs. FullEnrich wins for waterfall mobiles, Findymail for its advertised bounce guarantee and Hunter for cheap domain lookups. PDL wins for licensed datasets. Prospeo suits per-seat teams. Stay on LeadMagic if you look up emails from a name and a domain at modest volume. Otherwise start on the free plan and compare the same lookups.

FAQ

Why do developers leave the LeadMagic API?

Cost and caps. Email Finder is 1 credit per valid email and 600 requests a minute, and the top self-serve plan is 100,000 credits (LeadMagic docs, September 2026). A sustained find rate below 10% can lead to throttling. Zero-credit search needs a $499 plan.

What is the cheapest LeadMagic alternative at 1M records a month?

LeadOcean at $499 flat and BlitzAPI Plus at $499 are cheapest on list price. Hunter sells 1,000,000 Search credits for $6,900 on Data Platform, bought once and valid 12 months. That undercuts LeadMagic's extrapolated $8,490, which is not a plan. Findymail's price is not published. Prospeo costs more, at $14,456 a month or $11,223 billed yearly on its cheapest public path. FullEnrich and PDL have no public 1M price. Enterprise quotes narrow the gaps.

What are LeadMagic's API rate limits?

Email Finder allows 600 requests a minute, with a burst of about 10 a second. The unmetered search API runs at 5 requests a second on Professional and 10 on Ultimate, up to 20,000 searches a day (LeadMagic docs, September 2026). Plans without that entitlement pay about 1 credit per returned row.

Which LeadMagic alternative has an MCP server that returns data?

LeadOcean, FullEnrich, Prospeo, Findymail and Hunter all do. BlitzAPI's server reads documentation only. We found no official PDL server. Compare the tools each server exposes before you choose.

Can LeadOcean replace LeadMagic's name and domain email finder?

Not directly. LeadOcean enrich takes a LinkedIn URL, an email, a phone number or a person ID. To start from a domain, list the people at the company with GET /v1/companies/{domain}/people, then enrich the ones you want.

Do I need a credit card to try LeadOcean?

No. The free plan needs a work email and no card. It gives you 1,000 records, one-off, with the same API and MCP server as Pro. See pricing.
